4421  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Political discussions about Bitcoin happening in Washington, DC on June 20-22 on: June 14, 2014, 11:05:37 PM
Oh wait, I thought you meant it was going to be a political discussion in the Whitehouse until I saw Cody Wilson there, there's no way they'd let him in, he's probably listed as a threat to the president lol! Tongue
4422  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US Government Bans Professor for Mining Bitcoin with A Supercomputer on: June 14, 2014, 10:45:10 PM
Why did I laugh so hard at this?

I don't know but I did as well Cheesy
4423  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Least-Liked Minority Group? Atheists. on: June 14, 2014, 10:39:01 PM
Really? They don't 'trust' Athiests? Of course they're going to treat them as the enemy, they are living opposites of their belief system and everything they stand for, people like me even more so, because even if god did exist and came to talk to me I'd still tell him to fuck off.
4424  Other / Politics & Society / Re: U.S. Taxpayers Support Toyota ! on: June 14, 2014, 02:26:03 PM
American vehicles break down too easily and have poor build quality, that's why they buy Japanese Tongue

I'm just randomly posting here but be sure to list clearly which mint each of these bars came from because you can't see everything from that photograph supplied, they look nice though, this will help people check authenticity.
4427  Economy / Goods / Re: What products would you buy with Bitcoins? on: June 14, 2014, 11:10:41 AM
Tongue well I'd love to buy everything with Bitcoin if I could but yeah, there aren't many options out there right now, but I reckon as the economy worsens things will get better for us.
4428  Economy / Goods / Re: What products would you buy with Bitcoins? on: June 13, 2014, 11:20:11 PM
Where's the "Everything" option?
4429  Other / Meta / Re: I am receiving repeated death threats from a forum member on: June 13, 2014, 09:16:20 PM
Ignore him and try to put him on the ignore list for the PM, PM Theymos or any Global Mod for assistance.

+1 Don't pay any attention to them, there isn't a need for any bans if we have a proper block function.

It's only if they start directly interfering with the block function by using a different username or something that they should really be banned I think, even scumbags deserve freedom of speech, that's how you know they're scumbags Tongue
4430  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why do people deny the climate change? on: June 13, 2014, 09:13:07 PM
Interestingly it isn't just America responsible for this kind of ignorance for once but there are people out there who would genuinely have you believe that there is nothing of value out in space and so on with absolutely no evidence to back it up.
4431  Other / Off-topic / Re: Krita: open source digital painting (kickstarter) on: June 13, 2014, 07:59:03 PM
Try a real link pl0x and this looks fairly interesting.

http://krita.org/

It looks nice, it's like an open source clone of manga studio almost, I do disagree with you though about using this kind of software with a cheap tablet, unless you have amazing hand-eye coordination you will be much better off with a Cintiq because in order to make great lines with line weight you have to be able to properly see where you're drawing and what you're doing, with something like a bamboo tablet ( which is what I use ) it's very unwieldy because you have to essentially blind draw as you're looking at the monitor while drawing at the same time, Cintiq's are much like digital paper in this respect.

Don't know who these guys are that made this and this is the first I've heard of it, are they people who have gotten fed up with the overpriced software and made an open source version or something?
4432  Other / Off-topic / Re: Getting a parental control for my 5 year old on: June 13, 2014, 02:27:44 PM
Why not just explain to them the difference between reality and a game or what's on a screen so they can use them without any problems rather than desperately try to control what they can and can't look at all the time?

Children are not as stupid as people would have you believe.

4434  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-06-13] Bitcoin in Argentina - If it can’t make it there on: June 13, 2014, 07:18:24 AM
I'm amazed that the economist is even talking about this possibility? Why I aren't they doing the usual "Deflation is bad for the economy because I say so!" crap?
4435  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Let's face it -- just because you CAN have children doesn't mean you SHOULD. on: June 12, 2014, 11:00:47 PM
The fact that the child was restrained is what makes it more sensational news. The most important issue is that he left the 6 year old home alone. I guess he felt that, given the two options, restraining the child was safer than not restraining him. However, it's hard to believe that someone who lives in a middle class neighborhood couldn't think of a better option

Are you seriously trying to suggest that the most important issue is a child being left alone at home when he was fucking chained up? How the fuck can you just brush that off?

What im triying to say is that in first place he shouldnt have left the boy alone, chained or without chains.

That's just stupid.

4437  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [20-06-10] CNBC Stupidist statement around bitcoin ever. on: June 12, 2014, 06:43:58 PM
It's entirely possible, the mistake the people making these comments make is as you say that long term it's actually good for Bitcoin because so many people are using it, this is what happens in an SELF-REGULATED and TRANSPARENT economy that doesn't have people fixing the exchange rate and inflating the money supply Tongue

Like I've said a number of times now, I don't think people are used to seeing an unregulated economy because they're so used to government regulation and don't have any idea how much everything is fixed and messed with.
4438  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why do people deny the climate change? on: June 12, 2014, 06:35:09 PM
Yeah, why do people do that? I mean, come on, it's a fact for christ sake!

Fact? I'm not sure. I support clean energy production and renewables. But I am pretty nihilistic about our "knowledge" of broad climate cycles. I think the study of climate change has been largely politically charged and unscientific -- and the fact is, our primitive science really cannot give us the answers you think they can.

Adding to that the downright space phobia some people have means that we can't simply go out and confirm our data by studying other planets, I think I'm more pissed off that the climate change debate has become that politically oriented that no real science can get done, lobbyists ruin everything in democracies, I'd accept just about any theory out there if there were evidence to back it up but unfortunately a lot of climate 'science' revolves around hysterical bullshit and then maybe one mildly convincing chart.

4440  Economy / Speculation / Re: The more merchants accepting - BTC declines in price on: June 12, 2014, 04:39:57 PM
Not all merchants will dump their Bitcoins and of course, some of them might just be saying that so the people who are obsessed with paper money won't be hysterical, you also have to take into account that there has been a substantial increase in trade volume which will also affect the price, I think if the currency does rise, it will possibly be steadier this time than before.
