4441  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: November 09, 2020, 10:00:54 PM
Anyone assumes the playoffs will be changed as well? Or do you think that will stay the same. I feel like 5 game first round series have been talked a lot in the previous years when parity wasn't like this, it was mainly like "warriors and who?" for a while and the answer was cavs, for the past 5-6 years before the covid season it was basically just first rounds were as regular as regular season was.

However with this bubble season making everything a bit more fun and a bit more close, maybe that 5 game idea is shelved once again I don't know. I could say that there are series that I think should go to 7 game and fun, but then there are series that are very boring and should be done within as quick as 3 games let alone 5. However considering the parity is back on track, they will probably keep the 7 game series for all arounds.

The playoff format wasn't change, even in the last bubble.

I'm okay with a shortened season but to reduce playoffs series too, I think that's too much, that's the time where NBA gets more views, so I doubt they would change that, there's even some speculation that NBA is rigging games to extend the series, so now way they will reduce the playoffs series games.
Yes, playoff series shouldn't be reduced as this is where we test the mettle of each team. And a 7 game series makes in more exciting and teams can make a comeback. So I don't like the playoff series reduce. We already seen regular games turn into 72 games and I think that is enough for players.
4442  Economy / Gambling / Re: BetKing.io Relaunch on: November 08, 2020, 11:33:02 PM
I know this is a "what if"  question but what happens if the website got hacked again similar to what happened in 2019? how will you pay the new investors then? and what precautions are you going to take in order a hack never happened again on your website? I know questions are pretty generic but it is important. no offence but to be honest I would advise people to avoid your website with all of this uncertainty.

Very good question.

BetKing pre ICO was coded by myself.

After the ICO we hired a number of developers. When developing an update (for eos token support) a bug was introduced by one of the other developers that allowed people to gain access to their server seed and predict the bet results.

This was fixed, and the fix was shown to investors at the time, though it was too late by then.

This new version is again coded by myself only and there won't be any issue with this. No code from any other person will be on the site at all.

The investors who are funding this already know all this and that is why they are even investing at all.

There will obviously be more monitoring (automated and manual) and frequent auditing to make sure there are no other issues but that specific bug that caused the hack before will not be possible.

Possible to hire some third party to audit your code though? Are there any separate group to do some stress testing. You can't be the developer and at the same time be the QA because you will be biased on the test cases, test run that you are going to write.

That's why I ask this so that everything will be transparent to you and to your investor as well.
4443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: November 08, 2020, 11:22:11 PM
I think that's different in the bubble. If all the teams goes back to the bubble following all the protocols and health safety, they will be allowed. He can give it a consideration as it became a success and the next season is about to come. But it's also worrying that it's likely that the bubble will stop but to classify it with gymnasiums, we don't know what's next. Right now, I don't think that it will affect the upcoming season. Hopefully, it won't and he won't focus stopping the league because of covid as it has proved to be an effective style to continue.

Yeah, don't want to be pessimistic here.
I want the game to go on. Not as normal as it was but still a better way to entertain people while staying at home.
Lockdowns will work properly if they can turn on the television and can watch live games.
Perhaps, that's a good reason to push Biden (if he wins) to let the NBA continue in the bubble.

Biden wins, he is now the new president of the USA and I think the NBA bubble is not really a problem since they already had a success before. The bubble set up will continue and NBA will continue to give us the kind of entertainment we enjoyed last season, and I would say, the new set up worked.

Yeah, I don't think NBA will be affected regardless of who are going to win the US presidential elections. Everything has now been set up for next month start of the NBA and by that time, there could be improvements in the safety protocols because for sure NBA has learn a thing or two during the 2019-2020 bubble games.

There could be more self isolations, players being tested more frequently, contract tracing, etc.

I'm always welcome with that kind of protocol as all we want to see is a successful next season, more test the better as it will ensure that no virus will enter the venue. This time is bigger because it's the whole NBA teams that are going to play, so they need to make sure the place is safe from the covid-19 as we don't want to see delay of games or worst cancellation of the NBA season.
It is still early to discuss on what will happen in the next season because there is still pandemic and there is a recent projection saying if the NBA starts at early January, they may incur losses amounting $1 Billion and above because audiences are still not allowed to watch inside the stadium to prevent the spread of the virus. I'm sure that a lot of audiences especially the bettors like me who are now excited to watch and make a bet a game again in NBA. I do not know if the commissioner will form a bubble again to start the Pre-Season.
What do you mean it's too early to discuss? The next season will open on December 22 as stated earlier, go back read and you will see that someone posted a link already, coming from the players association approving the said date. Of course audience are still not allowed because of the covid-19 situation, but it doesn't mean that NBA will not start a new season as it has proven that 'The Bubble' was really a success.
4444  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Yusra: What do you think? on: November 08, 2020, 10:48:09 PM
What is this? where are the links? You should provide more and detailed information about this so called projects? What about the trading volumes?

Marketplace? Similar to Open Bazaar?

Yes, the price seems to be high at the moment, maybe it has reach it peak already or it didn't capture the imagination of crypto investors as of now.
4445  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price to reach $17k? on: November 08, 2020, 10:29:10 PM
This is the right time to get in because I think 17k will definitely happen before 2020 ends.
There was a slight drop in price today but that is not a sign that price will fall soon. Bitcoin has been trading in this area in the last few days and it seem a bit difficult to break the resistance level above it. But who know, many prediction can even be broken only if market demand increases. There are lots of risks to be aware of when entering during high price, but whatever it is bitcoin has the potential to hit a new ATH. It is not a good idea to say that this is a good time to enter, people need to have a good analysis before determining when is the right time.
Actually it was a huge drop if I may add, - 6%, we even went below $15k for a brief moment, then I was surprised to see the price bouncing back to $15,500, so it means that we are in the bullish phase and that $17k could potentially hit by the end of 2020. Yes, there is always the big risk, but past history tells otherwise. Put in into perspective, during the last Presidential election, the price of bitcoin is just around $600-$800, forward this 2020 and the current US election, the price is around $15k-$16k.
4446  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning]: Fake Ledger site on: November 08, 2020, 10:05:21 PM
Unfortunately, Ledger owners lose 1.1 million XRP to scam site .

Someone losses big amount to such fake and malicious Ledger apps out there. So be careful for all Ledger users as cyber actors have been targeting a lot of it's customers since the data breach.
4447  Economy / Speculation / Re: Could 2018 repeat itself? Price approaching 20K and high fees followed by crash on: November 08, 2020, 09:50:29 PM
These fees are much less compared to 2018 levels, but as we approach 2017/2018’s ATH, what is going to prevent us from having those huge fees (I don’t know; somewhere between 400 and 900 sats/vbyte) a second time? Is is that more people are going to send their transactions with a low priority fee to avoid them, and miners will ultimately get less transaction rewards from their blocks as well as a decrease in transactions per block, could all cause the price to crash a second time, which will revert to low fees having normal priority?
Definitely, the fees will go up when we enter a bull run in 2021. Just look at how the fees is when the price goes to almost $16k in the last couple of days? However, if your transaction are going to get confirmed with less fees then why pay more? I have experimented several transaction fees, 1 sat/byte = 2 days confirmation. so it's really possible to just pay with low fees specially if you are not in hurry or something.

Edit: I don't know what you mean by 2018 though, maybe December 2017 to first quarter of 2018?
4448  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Haney vs Gamboa WBC World Lightweight Title on: November 08, 2020, 09:35:09 PM
It's because that is Haney's style, but the funny thing is that Gamboa seems to be pissed or what? did he really thinks he won the fight? And if I may add, Haney is different from the big punchers in his division, his style is to break down his opponents by this long jabs as compare to brandish style of Tank and Teofimo or Ryan who wants to knock down their opponents viciously.

And that makes him a boring fighter, but still has good KO rate, maybe he wasn't just trying to gamble with a veteran opponent as he also respect Gamboa's power, so instead of getting so aggressive, he played it smart, and he wins it.
Yes, he is very different from the breed of young fighters on the lightweight, well, he is brandish as well but doesn't have the tools to back up like Garcia, Lopez and specially Davis. I would say that he is weakest of the three. But he did show good counter, but the Cuban can take his punch and was able to survived specially in round 11th.
4449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Alts Market already bottomed out? on: November 07, 2020, 08:33:31 PM
As the saying goes, "buy when there is blood on the streets", so recently we have seen some good alts that likely bottom up, so this could be a great opportunity to scope some cheap coins again and hold into it. We are still far the bull run that we are expecting, 2021 will be the year wherein we can see similar patterns like 2017. But before buying any alts, you still need to do your own investigations and not just buy everything that is hype, do you due diligence still.
4450  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is Bitcoin dumping right now? on: November 07, 2020, 08:22:10 PM
Is it because the Trump people have given up?

Is it because the Biden people are relaxing after what they think is a win?

I had hoped Bitcoin would actually make it to $20,000 this time!

Cool
Perhaps we have been played by whales and manipulators, riding on the US election to pump the price to almost $16k and then everyone gets excited. But indicators shows that we somewhat close to the overbought region, hence people sold off to make some profits in the recent upsurge. But I think we are still in the bullish sentiments though, not worrying short term effect of the US election. We still have a lot of leg room till the end of 2020. But I don't think we can make to $20k this year, most probably 1st quarter of next year will be a good gauge to see where we are heading.
4451  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning]: Fake ETHEREUM staking website on: November 07, 2020, 08:09:18 PM
I hope that there will be no victims here. This is very attractive for newbies who will blindly trust anything right now to make a huge profit specially that there are a lot of noise on ETH 2.0 and the whole staking paradigm. So again, these scammers are taking advantage on everything that is hype and popular specially in the altcoin market. That's why we really need to make ourselves aware of this kind of attempts and investigate and let ourselves educate, check everything before we took the dive on any staking.
4452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant Super Middleweight Title on: November 07, 2020, 07:49:09 PM
Canelo Alvarez is at his prime now, his opponent is not so popular as a boxer but I like Plant's record because he is undefeated.
Maybe they are not getting into big fights now, Canelo just trying to condition himself with a non popular boxer for him to get ready on some big fights in the future.

https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/684493

12 KOs from 20 wins, the record is amazing.

Hopefully this is not a Lopez vs Loma alike.  Grin
I don't know which fighter is Canelo going to face in his division as those champions are not very well know, Caleb Plant and Billy Joe Saunders. But with him out of the Golden Boy, he can choose to fight who ever he wants and the trilogy with GGG won't happened. Canelo already said that he doesn't want to fight GGG anymore, he was just 'forced' to fight him this year because of Golden Boy and DAZN, but since he is no longer in contract then he will go on his own route.
4453  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Haney vs Gamboa WBC World Lightweight Title on: November 07, 2020, 10:17:40 AM
So, Gamboa was injured on that fight with Davis huh? Another reason to sell the fight to the public but i give Gamboa the benefit of th doubt and i'm rooting for him to go the distance but still he would loss this fight i think.

Betting for Haney via UD is tempting so i would go for this market.
Yes, the UD is much better than the money line, but I'm expecting that Haney could go for a big knockout just like what Davis did to Sta Cruz to show that he has power and to give some message to the rest of the 4 horseman, according to that announcer in the presser.
4454  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will There Be a New ATH in 2020? on: November 06, 2020, 11:24:37 PM
Back in December of 2017, Bitcoin pumped over $1500 in 24 hours. On November 6 of 2020 it did the same. Is the story repeating itself? What do you think? Will There Be a New ATH in 2020?
Following the past cycles bitcoins has been making since it's inception, I personally think it won't happen this year but will definitely happen in early 2021. We could probably hit close to $20K, maybe $18K or $19K before dropping back a little. I expect so much resistance around that region for the rest of this year.
I'll go early though, probably we can see another dip after this massive run to $15k-$16k and the entering 2021 for another push to $18k-$19k, then another dip pushing pushing to a new all time high second quarter of 2021. So there will be no all time high for me this 2020, but this is the start, and 2021 will be big year for bitcoin, it's just a matter of time before what price it will settles down as the new all time high.
4455  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Philippines Allows Land-Based Casinos to Accept Bets Online on: November 06, 2020, 10:36:05 PM
Not a big deal for me since implementing the online feature of certain land-based casinos is not a new idea.

Maybe I just want to know, what games are supported online by these land-based casinos? For sure it's not all of their games. It's not mentioned in the article.

Good question, I was under the impression, based on the article that somehow only sports betting are going to be accepted, this is just my opinion. How about those who want to play like slots or table games like baccarat or black jack. Because if what they are saying is that accepting bets online from a land base casino, then it should be the whole nine yards.
4456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ledger owners lose 1.1 million XRP!! on: November 06, 2020, 10:05:02 PM
How is it possible today to lose so much money with a phishing site, you just have to be carefull and make sure you are on the right website!
It's because he didn't check everything before clicking that phishing site until it was too late when he lost a whopping $1 million already. That's why we really need to think twice before clicking any link specially crypto related in our email because we really don't know for sure if that is a phishing link or not. Reminders are good, but if you are a Ledger user and not taking notes or reading them, then one day you might fall for this attempt.
4457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: USDT Mixing and it's family of other coin scam attempt on: November 06, 2020, 09:38:42 PM
You really have to give this criminals a score of 10 for their creativity, I haven't heard of USDT tumbling services though, but with the rest of those coins and the days that it has been existing without someone reported it? there could be some noobs who might fall for this scheme already.
4458  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading hours on: November 06, 2020, 09:14:18 PM
Even though crypto-market is open 24/7 I've noticed that trading at certain hours (depending on time zone) is more active with more volatility. Sometimes it's right after US stock market opens, sometimes it's on weekends.
What do you think the reasons?

Yes, you are correct, I also observed this kind of movement, you can also add that if US stock market closes and the Asian crypto market opens, there's also a lot of volatility. I've noticed as well that when the Asian crypto market opens, there will be a huge surge in price because obviously, Asian whales and traders are very active and you can take advantage of that time frame and situation to at least squeeze some profits if you're a day trader.
4459  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Russian authorities make rare arrest of malware author on: November 06, 2020, 08:54:21 PM
I think it we are going to based on the article, he was identified as a "Russian", and probably well known as well with the malware he create and the effect of it globally. @zasad@, thanks for your viewpoint, but it seems the issue here is that the author himself targets his homeland and that's why he is arrested. I'm just thinking that he can get away with jail time if he started to cooperate with the government. Like being one of their state sponsored hackers now? What do you think? So that his knowledge can be used by the Russian government, they doesn't want this kind of their local talent goes to wait, isn't it?
4460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Folgory Exchange Bounty on: November 05, 2020, 10:46:39 PM
May I suggest that you open a thread here: Scam Accusations so that it will get the needed exposure and so that no newbies can fall for this scheme.

I'm sorry for your lost though, that is still 2 ETH, and when the price is really going up this days, sometimes it really painful to see that our hard earn money is stolen by these criminals.
