It is still early to discuss on what will happen in the next season because there is still pandemic and there is a recent projection saying if the NBA starts at early January, they may incur losses amounting $1 Billion and above because audiences are still not allowed to watch inside the stadium to prevent the spread of the virus. I'm sure that a lot of audiences especially the bettors like me who are now excited to watch and make a bet a game again in NBA. I do not know if the commissioner will form a bubble again to start the Pre-Season.
According the news, NBA season wills start this December. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/11/06/sports/basketball/nba-next-season.htmlThe N.B.A.’s players have tentatively approved the league’s plan to start the 2020-21 season on Dec. 22, which would require them to report to their teams for training camps in less than a month Crowd is not expected yet, nobody would allow them to accept crowd if the vaccine is not yet release, otherwise it will only create more problem in the long run, they'll be doing the same bubble set up IMO.

Now let's combine politics and USA Sports (especially NBA of course) and sports gambling. "Do not open gymnasiums." Biden has appeared more willing than Trump to aggressively address COVID-19 in the short term with hopes that it will curtail the spread of the disease in the long term. He has supported a national mask mandate and said in August that he would implement a national lockdown if scientists recommend taking that step.
"If you have a reproduction rate in a community that's above a certain level, everybody says, slow up," Biden said during a presidential debate. "More social distancing. Do not open bars and do not open gymnasiums. Do not open until you get this under control, under more control." https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/2020/11/07/joe-bidens-election-and-how-could-impact-world-sports/6160249002/We all know he is winning. High chances of NBA being stopped or will not even start in December if ever he will focus on what he said during his campaigns. Defeating Covid-19 is one of those. That means lockdowns. That is for sure a nice campaign to go through maybe defeat first the virus so that we have the crowd the next season. Well, I certainly agree with more extensive fight for this virus rather but hope he will a devised plan as we all know that campaigns are only those flowering words comes to those mouth of every politicians and only few or rare ones do want they say worst is not. Well, it's not certainly the economy will stop but I think sports can still wait and should must if they want more revenues to come up for example on the tickets as this one been affected the most IMO.

Sports does not need to stop, even with crowdless venue, they are still making money as they have online subscribers and advertisers, the only difference is that their revenue will reduce, and I think it's good to stick at this set up now that the virus has not been contained.

Thanks for all your positive response guys. We here are all hoping it could still continue even when a new President was elected. Also hopeful that USA will not be a divided country anymore. campaigns are only those flowering words comes to those mouth of every politicians and only few or rare ones do want they say worst is not.
Forgot to consider that. Thanks for the reminder. Yeah, it might be just sweet words but I also agree with his campaign and he should do it in a better way. Open entertainment in a safe way but without second chances if they don't follow simple protocols. i.e. mask, 1 meter away, and so on.

According the news, NBA season wills start this December.
It looks like this offseason will shortest in NBA history with only 71 days, and I hope most players will be able to recover after the playoff. Otherwise, we will see many injuries in the next season. And yeah, Lebron doesn't like it.

This wasn't the first time he is complaining in relation to this from what I know he is also against the fact that the NBA is playing 82 games per season as compared to other leagues out there, I mean I totally understand him. He started to play in the NBA at a very young age and he is reaching this years where he wants to spend time with his family and do non-Basketball activities. I think its fair for the league to give them this short period for offseason as they have shutdown the league for a long period before they resumed giving the players some time off from the game.

What we are forgetting is the fact that the owners of these teams do not have their only income from these teams, not even remotely close. Actually owners of these teams do not even profit from them sometimes, depends on the team obviously because there are ones that profits but there are plenty of ones that do not profit neither, that is not the point really for them at all.
Warriors literally had a loss one of the years they won the league, like you could actually become champions in NBA and lose money and that would be normal because you paid sooooo much luxury tax on top of everything.
At the end of the day I feel like the increase in teams prices are the real economical reason why teams are bought, what you buy for 2 billion 10 years ago becomes 10 billion so you make a profit, mean while you spent under 1 billion to keep the team afloat, which rich person wouldn't do that.

Well, NBA also needs to get back on its feet. They lost a lot and they want the profits back. It's still about the money of course. That is priority. Also, I think they want to resume faster to adjust everything back to normal. Remember, October should have been the start of the season but because of the pandemic they need to adjust. Now, they need to catch up. I think Adam Silver also agrees changing the system but it needs time to be implemented. Just not sure if they are working on it.

I think that's different in the bubble. If all the teams goes back to the bubble following all the protocols and health safety, they will be allowed. He can give it a consideration as it became a success and the next season is about to come. But it's also worrying that it's likely that the bubble will stop but to classify it with gymnasiums, we don't know what's next. Right now, I don't think that it will affect the upcoming season. Hopefully, it won't and he won't focus stopping the league because of covid as it has proved to be an effective style to continue.
Yeah, don't want to be pessimistic here. I want the game to go on. Not as normal as it was but still a better way to entertain people while staying at home. Lockdowns will work properly if they can turn on the television and can watch live games. Perhaps, that's a good reason to push Biden (if he wins) to let the NBA continue in the bubble. Biden wins, he is now the new president of the USA and I think the NBA bubble is not really a problem since they already had a success before. The bubble set up will continue and NBA will continue to give us the kind of entertainment we enjoyed last season, and I would say, the new set up worked. Yeah, I don't think NBA will be affected regardless of who are going to win the US presidential elections. Everything has now been set up for next month start of the NBA and by that time, there could be improvements in the safety protocols because for sure NBA has learn a thing or two during the 2019-2020 bubble games. There could be more self isolations, players being tested more frequently, contract tracing, etc. I'm always welcome with that kind of protocol as all we want to see is a successful next season, more test the better as it will ensure that no virus will enter the venue. This time is bigger because it's the whole NBA teams that are going to play, so they need to make sure the place is safe from the covid-19 as we don't want to see delay of games or worst cancellation of the NBA season. It is still early to discuss on what will happen in the next season because there is still pandemic and there is a recent projection saying if the NBA starts at early January, they may incur losses amounting $1 Billion and above because audiences are still not allowed to watch inside the stadium to prevent the spread of the virus. I do not know if the commissioner will form a bubble again to start the Pre-Season. What do you mean it's too early to discuss? The next season will open on December 22 as stated earlier, go back read and you will see that someone posted a link already, coming from the players association approving the said date. Of course audience are still not allowed because of the covid-19 situation, but it doesn't mean that NBA will not start a new season as it has proven that 'The Bubble' was really a success.

Sports can wait but they already prove to us that nothing can stop sports, even during this pandemic. So there are no reason for them to not do it again next season. And why do they need to wait for more revenues if they can continue earning even a small portion compared to pre-covid, it's still better than not earning and just waiting for the virus to be gone.

Cooperation and understanding is what the NBA needs now. They've given us one of the best comeback in sports even in the midst of the pandemic. I think that's more than enough what they can offer. And if they have to lessen the next season then be it. It's different what we used to see but if it's needed and necessary, we have to adapt.

Better than nothing, NBA really making happen and it's up to all the fans to also adjust with the current set up. Without supports from the fans it will be harder for the Organization to move forward. Whatever adjustment due to this pandemic needs to be understood and be supported to make sure everything will continue to be in good shape, we are lucky enough that we will be able to watch those incoming games even there's still virus out there.

I think those guys already know about this pandemic and it's not really dangerous as the other claims. As you can see they end the season successfully without any problems. all players are satisfied despite the situations. I wonder if they gonna play from city to city when the start of the season or they will gonna do like the NBA Bubble again in Orlando. If they play from city to city with the so-called pandemic is still there, they may gonna face some serious problem if one of the players is infected like the last season. https://www.nbcsports.com/washington/wizards/when-does-2021-nba-season-start

Bubble is a must for NBA, otherwise they can't do much when players become positive. USA still has the highest rates of covid positive cases. It's really dangerous and people are dying, I don't agree with any of your words. Last season finished successfully because of a bubble solution. Why did they put KD to the poster though? There have been better choices.

I just thought about this one, years ago, players are complaining about a 82 gruelling games and saying that they want it to be reduced. Now it's 72 and their wish have been granted but it happened on this circumstances, everyone should be in the lockdown in their hotel, and have safety protocols in place before they need not to infect each other.
So we will see how others will react now, last season it was the Miami who shock us, we don't know if they can do it again. But certain teams are doing good in the bubble to say the least, so it's time for other teams to really adapt in the new environment.

It's a long stay for them in the bubble, there's no break because during the regular set up, the only break is the "ALL STAR BREAK", but it seems like there's no all star game in the next season to come, correct me if I'm wrong.

First we have a game without a crowd, now the number of games played are lessened, we can't be surprise with that as it's expected that there will be a lot of changes given the situation we are facing now, and also take note, the reduction of player's salary hasn't place yet, what more if that will be placed, I'm sure a lot of players will complain, but they have to understand that NBA was not anymore making money on its usual revenue.
Yes. Better than to see nothing until the end of this year. But with the pandemic, we still somehow watch some entertaining basketball and memorable that's inside the bubble. They've done their part and all the decision will still rely on them.
