4441  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Nano Ledger S Current Shipping Time and Carrier? on: September 03, 2020, 09:44:25 AM
Another thing.  Do you all remember if you needed to sign for it when the package came to you back in the US?  It requires a signature right?  Such as they aren't going to just drop it at your front door?  I don't remember if i had to sign for it or not years ago but i do know i would't want them to leave it outside similar to like how you order from amazon and they leave it at your doorstep if you aren't home.
IIRC, when the package(ledger nano s) came I was not at home by that time but the courier notified me before they came to drop off. Not exactly a door to door delivery but I just gave an instruction where they should have drop it off with my representative to receive the package and that's my brother.

There's a signature and that's needed as a proof that the package was received.
4442  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Question About Using Blockchain.com Website on: September 03, 2020, 08:33:46 AM
Thanks for your recommendation. What are your experiences in using electrum?
Electrum is the most common bitcoin wallet, no worries about using it as it's one of the oldest bitcoin wallets ever existed. Check the official website and be mindful of downloading the wallet because the older versions are prone to hackers.

The official website gives a reminder of which version you shall not download.

I didn't know a lot of users are having issue with blockchain. It seems like a good service for me in the first place.
It seems at it is but just look at this section and see how many threads were made for blockchain.com containing the problems of the users gone through.
4443  Economy / Economics / Re: "Warren Buffett invests $6 billion in Japan's five biggest trading houses" on: September 03, 2020, 07:33:58 AM
and in what he will invest outside the US market.
I would have said BTC, but it is out of the picture for Warren Buffet as he considers Bitcoin a speculative asset and he doesn't understand it.
It's close to impossible that we'll see Warren Buffett investing to bitcoin or even at least stake a portion of his BH on it.

In any case, bad news for the US market, which has the worst results (in the last quarter) in the last 73 years.
Meanwhile, the president has tweeted this as election approaches.

4444  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Inoue vs. Moloney - October 31 on: September 03, 2020, 06:29:22 AM
Both Inoue and Casimero had an individual fight, is it possible that if both fighter would win their respective fights, they would finally face each other?
Depends to the arrangements that will be made by their promoters. They know that everyone wants to see Casimero and Inoue match up but they hanged up knowing that all of us have been waiting for this match.

We all thought these monsters were all set but it's a surprise to see that they have their own fights. But for now, let's all watch their individual fights.
4445  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin purpose why and for what this is the reason on: September 02, 2020, 11:40:12 PM
Is this a free advice? it's an opinion and never thought that we're entitled and lucky to hear you out. Well, to tell you honestly. I have heard about bitcoin being the digital gold or the new gold for this era years ago.

if btc is up the stable coin purache power is low if btc is down the stable coin purache power is up.
Did you typed this fast and you meant purchase?
4446  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: blockchain.com - new scam - holding bitcoins for 7 days on: September 02, 2020, 10:38:35 PM
In my case it took really full 7 days. Today I was finally able to withdraw. It would be interesting to check if next purchase is also going to be holden, but I am not going to try. Support ticket without any reply.
That's nice to hear. Would you still like them to try despite the experience and inconvenience that they have brought you upon your purchase? interesting as it is but well, we don't want that to happen again which is a good decision for you.

We've learned a lesson from yours and others experience on this purchase through blockchain.com. Not only that they are buggy as a wallet, they also have this rule which is unfavorable.

Same problem here it's a real pain in the ass.   On day 2 of waiting now.  If I'd had known that this happens I wouldve bought from somewhere else
Just like them, wait until the 7-day rule finishes. You have no other choice but to wait it cooldown.
4447  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLING SITE INVESTMENT on: September 02, 2020, 10:06:01 PM
Yes, I'm with you, it's not good idea to invest all the money at once, it has big risks at all.
what if all your money is only 10 dollars  and you invest that all ? i wont say its a huge risk because that amount is verry small .  you should specify next time if how much is the amount your talking about  .

this thread also talks investing on a gambling site and thats different compare to investing on a crypto .  you need to invest huge on here to see noticeable improvents for your money
IMHO. What he's saying is about diversifying and he's right with what he said that it's not good to put all of your investments in one area. We're all aware of it and understand that concept of investing and what he's saying.

But he should also be specific on it. Risk is found in all investments, small or big amounts, you can all see the risk on it. What the guy should do is to take a look at the updates about his investment to have an idea how big the risk is with bankroll investing.
4448  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: you're making bitcoin complicated on: September 02, 2020, 09:21:25 PM
It is not making bitcoin complicated if we are suggesting a hardware when a newbie asks for a good wallet. Yes, it's not free because it's security is better than the web wallets. We are telling the truth about hardware wallets because they are even better.

You forgot that there were several hacks that happened with web wallets and newbies became a victim of phishing links copying those web wallets. They are newbie and they are prone to that and as part of security measures, hardware wallets are better.
4449  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What area of bitcoin participation is easiest to work with? on: September 01, 2020, 09:37:32 AM
For altcoins, I'd try staking if you want some involvement with how they're run.
My answer is also this.

The easiest for me is staking. But it's not a specific "bitcoin participation" but a cryptocurrency-related investment. Several exchanges offer to stake on their platforms but as we know, it's best if you are the one holding your coin.

The safest would be staking to a hardware wallet which is the Ledger wallet, Nano S or Nano X. The supported staking coins are still few at three but I think in the future, it will become more.

4450  Other / Archival / Re: Bitcoin Casino and Betting Advantages For Online Gamblers on: September 01, 2020, 05:08:21 AM
Only question we need to ask ourselves why bitcoin gambling industry rapidly growing and whose the only winer...?
The casinos and us. The demand for the bitcoin gambling industry is beneficial for everyone. Because of this, they are helping to make the demand higher for bitcoin usage while they give the service that gamblers need.

It is rapidly growing because of many factors, one factor is because of the lockdowns that happened worldwide. Gamblers can't go outside and as the local casinos were closed, they might found out how to gamble online with bitcoin. That's just one factor IMO and there's more.
4451  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: India Is Looking To Introduce A Law To Ban Bitcoin, Imprisonment Of Up To 5 Year on: September 01, 2020, 03:37:01 AM
This is an informative summary what actually happened in India with this news. And it's good to hear someone who's living there can finally give a thought about this topic because it's confusing what is actually the status for this matter.

We only rely from the news if it's an actual ban but now that you have mentioned that it's still a speculation that a new ban will be imposed, those articles that I've read just after the lifting of the ban which tells about banning it were misleading.

Yes, it is just a speculation that a new ban might be forthcoming because it not just involves RBI or the IDC, but the parliament is also playing a big role. And we all know how this politicians are very influential that's why there are a wildly believed that maybe an imminent ban is coming to India.

But it might take some time because the parliament will pass a law to put a heavy regulations (5 year imprisonment) for everything that is related to bitcoin.
Yes, alas we've got confirmation coming from the people who are from there. It's just misleading to believe and read that when there are articles that publishes "India has banned bitcoin".

I hope that it will end well and things will go easy for RBI and they don't have to look at bitcoin the way they're looking at it. The justification from the higher court (SC) should be recognized by them.  Undecided
4452  Economy / Economics / Re: 2020 Money is king Again Good news on: September 01, 2020, 02:03:10 AM
I get the point that cash is king in this pandemic. But that doesn't make values and ethics to go down. This pandemic has taught a lot of things for those who are not valuing things that they have. It's a refresher and this will teach a lesson to everyone that we have to be wise with our spending habits.

Only Thing what will matter is Money!!
I disagree with this. It is needed but it's not that all that matters. In rural areas, they have not that much money but they are able to live freely with everything that they have because they have the resources.
4453  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: India Is Looking To Introduce A Law To Ban Bitcoin, Imprisonment Of Up To 5 Year on: August 31, 2020, 11:57:55 AM
why some threads says ban and some say legal https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5230499.0
Let me give you the time line
In 2018- RBI banned bitcoin transactions from banking channels. Therefore even though bitcoin wasn't illegal exchanges can't open a bank account therefore were shut down. P2P was working
In 2019- government made a committee to know the shortcomings in cryptocurrency and therefore were considering to ban it (have not banned it are just considering to ban it)
In 2020- Supreme court of India lifted the ban of RBI and exchanges have reopened

Now once again there are speculations that it will be banned again. But it's Not yet banned it's just in consideration of being banned.

4454  Economy / Economics / Re: The number of jobless people has crossed one million in US - worrying sign? on: August 31, 2020, 07:56:56 AM
Indeed it is an alarming sign. I can somehow remember that news when an economic crisis rose in the US which had affected significantly the world's economy during the great recession, I was still young at age during that time and don't care about the economic status.

But this time, it's very alarming. Left to right, unemployment rate is increasing and this is in the US. And in other countries, this is also being experienced.

With the increase in the number of unemployed people the number of cases of theft and other crimes would also spike because people would need money to survive and they aren't having any jobs then they can go down the wrong path in case of a desperate desire.
This has been on the news during the protests for George Floyd's death. People tend to get into shops even without permission and took everything they can.
4455  Economy / Economics / Re: I have Good news and Bad news about economy on: August 31, 2020, 03:57:21 AM
The loans, the cutting of jobs, and other problems that you have mentioned are what most of the countries are facing right now. It is certain that there will be huge loans, massive laying off employees, and other things that we don't want to happen which will affect the economy and lives of affected individuals.

It's not a prediction but it's the reality due to COVID19.
4456  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: blockchain.com - new scam - holding bitcoins for 7 days on: August 31, 2020, 02:36:15 AM
I could accept 7 day period, when they tell me before purchase..but what is happening here is too much..

1) there was no abnormal activity on my account - same IP address as always, same device as always, same credit card as always, always 2FA enabled (SMS + email), fully verified account
2) no alert of 7 day period in first 24 hours after purchase, just error "Your Bitcoin transaction failed to send."
3) support ticket is 5 days without any reply!!
4) today I am able to transfer 0.15 USD from trading wallet with message "Your available balance is 0.00001289 BTC. The remaining balance will be available to be withdrawn within 7 days." - WTF?
5) FAQ article "Why can't I withdraw my crypto?" found by sunsilk was created 3 days ago (27/08/2020 20:59) - so they were already holding money without any explaining in their FAQ

This is the worst service ever..
As someone who's also taking into consideration your complain, I'll understand your frustration and disappointment with the purchase that you made.

But it's likely that they'll just reason out that they have a published article and the rule was included to their terms before your purchase. Charge to experience, if you are about to buy bitcoin next time - choose a top exchange.
4457  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: blockchain.com - new scam - holding bitcoins for 7 days on: August 30, 2020, 12:32:13 PM
~snip~
I never bought Bitcoin using blockchain wallet but I did used their swap features from ETH to BTC and few other cryptos which was almost instant and no minimum holding periods for it,but now blockchain turned into a crap and showing lot of errors like insufficient balance, unknown errors, login issues and much more. Why someone using blockchain for buying bitcoin there are lot more better options available...
They are adding many features on their platform and even altcoins. What is awkward is that, if OP bought bitcoin on their wallet through "buy and sell" feature then it has to be on the wallet and not with the trading wallet. Well, they should have consider modifying that 7-day rule.

I've found this article of theirs which also talks about the 7-day holding period.

Why can't I withdraw my crypto?

What is the 7-day holding period?
If you recently bought crypto, your purchase may be subject to a 7-day holding period. During this time, you will still be able to use your recently purchased funds to fund additional buy orders, sell orders, and Swap trades (coming soon); however, these funds will not be available to withdraw or send to your non-custodial wallet.

Why am I subjected to it?
If you purchased crypto via card or if we detect security issues or abnormal activity on your account, we may place a 7-day holding period on your recent crypto purchase for security. For credit card orders, this is done to give the funds time to clear so that we can accept more card payments and serve more customers. Rest assured, your purchase went through and your funds will be available for withdrawal as soon as the holding period is up!

Can I expedite my withdrawal?
At this time we don’t have any way for you to speed up your withdrawal or cut down on the holding period. We are always working on improving our products, so keep an eye out for future changes!

4458  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Im Looking developer it guy and Other skilled people for world biggest project. on: August 30, 2020, 10:51:50 AM
Im looking skilled people and Good it developer guys who will make Global one world currency so I Can sell it to the Rotschilds and and Other rulers.

I have Connections allready im willing to Give Some% for guys who will make it Ready according my instructions.

Why would we need another Global one world currency when we already bitcoins ?
The reason why he wants to create it and it's part of that quote which is to sell it to the Rotschilds and other world elites. What I'm doubting with what he's saying is he has already the connection with those folks.

What if he talks with the connection and gets into the idea and see if it will be funded by the elites. "IT Developers" have various of expertise and you are at the planning stage. As of the moment, what I think you need of is a project manager.

4459  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: blockchain.com - new scam - holding bitcoins for 7 days on: August 30, 2020, 09:17:54 AM
This is another reason why it's better to use another wallet or exchange if you want to purchase bitcoin. It is on their terms, the minimum holding periods section.

5.2.2 Minimum Holding Periods

When you place purchase orders in the Trading Wallet, we may impose minimum holding periods in respect of any Virtual Currency that you have purchased which may last up to a maximum of 7 days. These minimum holding periods are necessary to enable us to carry out effective fraud prevention measures and to ensure that the fiat currency leg of any given transaction has settled. After this minimum holding period elapses, you may trade your Virtual Currency in the ordinary way.

4460  Economy / Economics / Re: The debt based Economy on: August 29, 2020, 10:37:27 AM
Let's go back in the past and just do barter. You pay what you have in exchange for the things that you are about to get food, water and other necessities. It's real-life trading of goods and services you have for another goods and services that you want.

But, I still can see that debt could start out with that kind of economy. Changing the system will require you tremendous resources and power. There's no coming back and this kind of economy will remain.
