Just adding the latest special right before kick off. Anyone got it? It's going to be tough enough to win these games, never mind to keep a clean sheet, but I'm wondering if both could end up 0-0 and go to penalties?

26 August: Europa League Rangers and Celtic both to qualify and keep clean sheets: 16/1
I hope you loose this one  Cheesy since I have both to score on Celtic game on most of my multi tickets. Hope at least one of us wins the ticket today.

I have a mix of tennis, football and eSports, way to many picks to share them all.

Cheering for Rijeka, my home club to kick out Paok but not betting on that one. Could finish 0:0 or 3:1 for any team. Maybe I'll put something live when I see how it is going.

Guess you both lost your bets then, and it's weird you were both half right (one scoreless draw and one BTTS), so the bookies won the day on both matches.

Nothing very interesting for me to be honest in this week, just waiting for La Liga again to start, both Real and Barcelona dropped early points, so I'm waiting to see some good specials.

Envious of you guys who can watch the games, me I'm betting and then sleeping and waking up to see how it turned out. As I get older, I watch less games also as the lack of sleep gets me more and more.

4443  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Bull Attempts to Break $50,000 - A Psychological Hurdle as well as The Next on: August 27, 2021, 10:34:09 AM
50k was broken in August.. a month known or being slow for businesses due to holidays.
What happens now is probably refueling the rocket. September starts, school and work start or get back to normal, traders and institutional investors will be again full power and I expect the price get to new heights: touching and surpassing the last ATH, then, why not, 100k and beyond.

I never really thought much about all the seasonal effects that normally affect markets. There used to be the thing about Christmas, about Chinese lunar year, even about monsoon floods in china but I never really thought they made a difference.

Or if they used to they don't seem to with every passing year. Of course if things happen as you say, you will not see me complaining at all.

Gambling is a double-edged sword, it can be an alternative to giving wealth, it can also make everyone lose everything. either the rich or the poor.

No, gambling is not an alternative to gaining wealth. That's the first mistake you make that'll lead you down a wrong path.
Notice the second option I mentioned, meaning I mentioned two options, and you read only one option. I look at it from a two-sided perspective, if it's only one side then you don't like gambling.

I did notice the second option my friend, but I still insist, gambling is not a double-edged sword in this respect. It should never be seen as an alternative to gaining wealth, it should only be seen as entertainment, where, if you're not lucky, you don't get your deposits back but enjoyed it anyway. If you're lucky, you had fun AND won some money from it.

I love gambling. But for me, it can and never will be an income or wealth alternative. If I get lucky sure. But I can't count on luck.

Pinging again because we have games tonight. Valencia are the bookie favorites and they did start well but I keep wondering if we will end up getting scarred if we put our faith on them because last season, they were horrendous overall, only winning 10 games, while bookies kept putting them as favs.

First game is hard to pick though. I guess a draw?
4446  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: August 27, 2021, 08:24:49 AM
So the top prize in the latest lottery winner is 0.1 BTC which is roughly $5000 worth of bitcoin. I never really did calculations here, but for sure I know the amount of prize in btc is reducing over the years. Does anyone know what the maximum prize money used to be (in USD equivalant) it ever was for 1st place win in lottery?

Just curious;)
I briefly checked the results of the lottery rounds for this year, and it seems that the maximum prize was in round 292. It was in early January, and some lucky guy won ~$10k for first place, considering that the bitcoin exchange rate was ~$32k at that time.

Nice finds, buddy. I think the "smart" way to play and win on casinos, including on lottery like here, is to collect sats at all prices, and hope you win big during bear markets. Happy I gambled most of my RPs and balances during low price periods too. Those sats really become worth something every bull run like now.

Just wish I'd also been smarter about actually NOT losing them as often;)

Super cool to see the return of Live Casino Hero! I missed the start last time but I'll definitely make sure to participate (and hopefully make it to the end) this time around! Does anyone remember what the prizes were (both final and mystery treasure prizes), as well as how many people participated/made it to the end? I remember seeing a lot of discussion around it but I can't seem to find the thread.

I know, I remember also missing the last one, that was actually the promo that caught my eye before I finally joined properly Sportsbet here (even though it was Casino).

I Googled and found the last one is still active on this page: https://sportsbet.io/promotions/live-casino-hero-participants so it seems 43 people ended up on the last spot after 92 days for 23.5 mbtc! 460mbtc wagered each if they made minimum! Now I'm not sure I can make that amount but maybe patient betting on roulette or blackjack? I see one forum name I can recognize - actmyname. I wonder who else from here made it;)
4448  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why should other countries did not accept Bitcoins? on: August 27, 2021, 05:54:31 AM
There are only a few countries that don't accept Bitcoin (by making it illegal). And in the recent times some of them have changed their minds or are at least considering not totally banning it (like India).

In most cases, it's a lack of understanding and fear. But in some cases, like I believe in India, it's actually because of higher and higher scam complaints from citizens. Without resources or ability to prevent, sometimes the government considers a ban to be more convenient.

I guess we know why Buffett is starting to like Bitcoin (by not saying so much against it anymore).

He sees stability? oh common, Buffet and he's co-billionaires are always after the money. I like that idea he's no longer vocal with his stand and there are many institutional investors now inside this market.

Getting the attentions means investment in the long will bring decent benefits, everything still depends on how you interpret this business
and how willing you are to go deeper to learn more.

No man I was just making a joke. Or was that not clear enough?Smiley

Of course old investors are always after the money. They would even invest in ponzis if they somehow knew they could guarantee getting out of it alive and I bet you they throw "change" into high risk ventures.

If big banks can change their minds about bitcoin, for sure these old men also can. Isn't his son already into Bitcoin anyway? For sure on advice or guidance from the man himself.
4450  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcasino.io 💜 — The ultimate casino experience 🎲 LIVE CASINO on: August 26, 2021, 12:51:20 PM
Which Live Casino game is your favourite?
Please share your thoughts.
Have played several live casino games in your site like Lightning Baccarat, Instant Roulette etc and enjoyed most of them without facing any issues so far. Won decent profits overall.

My favourite among them is Lightning Baccarat since I enjoy anything related to Baccarat primarily due to the low house edge associated with it and the fun factor.

In the spirit of fast, I also like Lightning Roulette and sometimes I use it to get my Clubhouse levels up quickly (I know this is the same from Sportsbet casino right?). I guess crypto gamers like me are so used to getting fast settlements from dice and the like that we also can't stand to wait for roulette tables to spin their wheels!

I like Dealer too of course but if you don't have very good speed it's not so fun anyway but it's nice to have the "lite" option too!

As I mentioned before, there is also a social aspect, though.
What do you mean by hereditary? social problem? I'm not too sure about that?
Poverty has never been passed down to the next generation, even education has different domains so that it cannot be generalized into one generation. For example, my parents earn from being a farmer, and I don't necessarily have a farm income myself, I have income from crypto, is it passed down from generation to generation?

If your parents are smokers, children have a higher chance of becoming a smoker. The same thing happens with drinking, gambling, and other vices. It's a common problem and no surprise because well, if you grow up in such an environment, then you become accustomed to it, you get peer pressured into it, and it becomes normalized.

This isn't about occupation either (although actually in the past, occupations of parents also bear an impact on children, again, at lower income levels). If farmer parents manage to break it to middle class, like you, then great. But if you would still be living on a farm in a lower class family, what would your likely job options be?

Poverty is a huge obstacle...

Gambling is a double-edged sword, it can be an alternative to giving wealth, it can also make everyone lose everything. either the rich or the poor.

No, gambling is not an alternative to gaining wealth. That's the first mistake you make that'll lead you down a wrong path.
4453  Economy / Economics / Re: Nigeria leads sub-Saharan Africa’s P2P bitcoin trade on: August 26, 2021, 07:57:10 AM
This is a clear example of what we usually say about authoritarian Governments trying to ban cryptocurrencies: that it ends up useless to try to stem the tide.

BTW, does anybody know which African country has more P2P bitcoin trade than Nigeria? as title says sub-Saharan, it implies that there may be some other countries from other regions in Africa where this kind of trade is even more common?

Governments should be learning about this for hundreds of years. When you restrict or try to control something your people want, they go underground, they do it with more risk. We've seen it with gambling, with alcohol.

But this isn't even about what people want, but what people need also. Nigerians and others need this new form of money because they know the current one is weakening.

About your question, I would suggest like Yogee South Africa is the most obvious? I know Binance tried to go there because of huge demand. But I think even Morocco and Egypt it is rising up, just I'm not sure if they are also considered Sub-Saharan?
4454  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Bull Attempts to Break $50,000 - A Psychological Hurdle as well as The Next on: August 26, 2021, 06:54:42 AM
Personally, I do not see that there is a psychological barrier at 50 thousand dollars, but rather at one trillion market capacity, which represents about 54K USD, and therefore all prices below this top mean that the price will fluctuate until it is broken, and therefore it is difficult for the price to return without that.
In other words, if the price breaks the 50K USD, it will not constitute a change, or we will not return below those levels (a psychological barrier).

Yep, I don't think this one's a 50k thing at this stage (60 is the natural psychological barrier as it also happens to be ATH). Bears definitely see 1 T as the failure to keep tabs on crypto, so even with market pressure on selling, new coins entering circulation will keep pushing back and then when they get tired and the barriers break, we'll not be stepping backwards.
4455  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Regulators are on next level desperate on Bitcoin and the cryptospace on: August 26, 2021, 06:18:01 AM
registering as a money service business is not just the KYC stuff.. its actually the consumer protection stuff.
maybe try to learn what it takes to be a MSB and whats involved.

This is one thing people forget sometimes. I hate being monitored and regulated all the time but I have to admit, for some things, I would prefer this consumer protection.

If you go to regulators office anyway in some places (I do not know how it is in USA) especially in Asian countries I think many headaches they get is public calls asking them to help get back lost money from Nigerian scams, phone scams, HYIPs, and now from crypto scams.

For regulators a lot of the problems now are online business and the only way they can deal with it because people refuse to educate themselves.
4456  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 61 year old plays the same numbers since 1991 and wins 18 millions on: August 26, 2021, 04:59:06 AM
I used to do this actually, but not playing that kind of lottery, since the only one we had before is sweepstakes, where you can only pick the tickets, not really the numbers. Then I used to pick the same "pick 4" numbers every single draw (about 2/3 times a week). Stopped after a few years finally after always hitting consolation prizes.

Fairplay to the man. He's the ultimate DCA gambler lol.

4458  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin go high the poor will not participate on: August 26, 2021, 04:27:05 AM
Why will poor people not participate if bitcoin price goes higher. They can continue to buy the same amount they used to buy before only thing is that the bitcoin qty will get reduced due to higher price. Since it goes upto 8 decimal places so they will still get something even if they buy worth of say 100$ only. Infact what I have seen is that people become more active when its higher price as they feel it will rise more.

The poverty line is $2 a day. If you earn $2.01 a day you only earn $60.30 a month so you are living above poverty line and are therefore not "poor". And you are talking about "only" $100?

You do realize also now that 200,000 satoshi = $100 and if you want to buy, you have to pay commissions and then withdraw, most places and exchanges will charge at least 10,000 satoshi or $5 in fees right?
4459  Economy / Economics / Re: what makes us good investors. on: August 25, 2021, 04:23:32 PM
When you take the advice of Warren Buffet, it is something excellent, but if we go to the stock market you must wait at least 8 or 10 years to see results of the investment, on the other hand, in BTC you see results after 3 or 4 years, and the most likely is to see a great profit, that is what many do not see.

To be fair I think Bitcoin expected timelength to make the same profits as stocks is also getting longer and longer. 2014 to 2017 20x was three years and now 2017 to 2021 a longer period of 4 years, it is "only" 3x.

I guess we know why Buffett is starting to like Bitcoin (by not saying so much against it anymore).

Then I can add people and their bitcointalk links to know who is who:)
Or people could be "normal" and use same username like I am doing Cheesy and we would not need to guess who they are. Just kidding of course, but it is always nice to see familiar face on other sites. In a way you can also use it build your image. I am using Trofo for all crypto related stuff and you would be surprised how much overlapping there is. Crypto community is still small so why not build on all those relations.

Agree I guess heh, it's just that I also use my same name everywhere and made the mistake from before of putting my age, which of course I am no longer 29;) And then it became my habit. I use BigSlam on Sportsbet chat and I guess it's because online I just use a variation of my nick. Obviously not my real name.

There is a lot of overlap agree. Small world in crypto.
