https://thenextweb.com/hardfork/2018/03/22/binance-cryptocurrency-japan-operation/Contrary to reports from Japanese news outlet Nikkei, Binance has denied rumors that Japan’s Financial Services Authority (JFSA) is planning to issue a warning requiring the cryptocurrency exchange desk to shut down its operation in the country.
Earlier today, Nikkei reported that the JFSA will likely deliver a shutdown warning to Binance in the coming days or weeks. The purported reason for the penalty was that the cryptocurrency exchange desk – which has several employees in Japan – has reportedly been operating without government approval, according to the local outlet.
Again, operating in Japan, unlike Bitfinex.

Tether and Bitfinex are closely intertwined in my opinion.
But I will nonetheless try to refrain from posting additional stuff that is related to Tether unless something really crazy/interesting/shady happens that would be of interest to Bitfinex users as well.
Intertwined and related but I think many customers that have decided to stay at Bitfinex despite all the FUD follow this thread for information directly about the platform. After thinking about what Ente said I think he's right that we should do it a new Tether thread rather than here. Of course, mayax will continue to spam incoherent nonsense here regardless. Edit: If there is a major development a don't see any problem in posting a link here to a new thread but filling it up with page upon page of argument probably isn't a good idea.

dunno if you say are right, also when ppl started saying that a deposit would fix it i did deposit 10k and didnt work for me..
I didn't say a deposit would fix it. I was trying to say that balance compared to total free-roll winnings is one of many factors that is used by their abuse detection system. Some people have managed to get above whatever threshold flagged their account for reduced base payout by depositing.

I seem to be the sole idiot who hasn't really noticed what OP's talking about. He didn't give any examples, so maybe those excellent newbie posters do their thing in sections I have on ignore or something.
Here you go https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3182219.msg32960262#msg32960262Great question for a first post and a Jr. Member registered September 19, 2013, happened to have the answer ready and earned a Merit for it. Nothing to see here. Although I do think DarkStar_'s cartoon sums it up rather well. If these accounts get sold to shitposters later on they'll be easy to spot and deal with at the time.

Look at the OP. The image of the gold coin included in Cyrus's post has been deleted. Is it possible for someone to repost an image?
If you hit quote to get the url https://bitcointalk.org/Themes/custom1/images/star.gif they are still there. The forum has been very slow to load or failing to load images ever since the switch to CloudFlare.

being funny here. I know it wasn't premined. But you got to admit, Satoshi has a LOT. I am surprised Satoshi never did any burn methods to show us he burned coins. Premined is when block #1 was generated with X amount of coins more than block #2 and etc.. it had a larger amount delivered to the first miner (traditionally) the developer. Sure, but a lot of people will read that and it will just reinforce the myth. How many times have you read that Satoshi owns 1 million+ coins? That's based on him being the only one mining for a long time. In the middle of that thread I linked to you'll find this old quote. So I can tell you with confidence that you mined very few blocks (e.g. 10 blocks) during that time and you're not millonaire, or you are part of the Satoshi group, period.
Do I get to be Satoshi too? I was off by only a few days... https://i.imgur.com/w57rtbs.pngI know first-hand that there were several different people who mined before January 2010. It's kind of funny that history I've lived through is being questioned... He certainly mined a lot but we're all guessing how many. As to proof of burn, I don't think that really fits in with the ethos. The mystery surrounding it all adds to the whole Bitcoin story. Here is that image showing how many different Bitcoin addresses were mining in early 2010. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2Fw57rtbs.png&t=664&c=SAoduGXw_-Acyg)

I guess (and I think it is right) that the account was sold recently and new owner wanted to make a new profile by deleting all old threads. That's very unlikely: why would anyone buy a Full Member account just to reduce it to Newbie again? Accounts are mainly bought to earn from signature campaigns, reducing the level makes that impossible again. That leaves the option that the original owner has - for some reason - deleted most of his posts. I propose Theymos to make a change to the forum system. If someone delete their old posts, their ranks and their merits should decrease too. It's not fair if a Newbie got 100 merits for nothing It's exactly as (un)fair as the Full Member who originally got the 100 Merits. Nothing changed there. (particularly if the account was sold and violates the forum rules). Selling accounts doesn't violate forum rules (but will likely earn you red trust). I don't think it is that unlikely. The Merit is far more valuable than the activity now. If the post history was particularly poor quality spam or in a language the buyer doesn't speak it might make the fact that it had been sold very obvious. With the post history deleted it is difficult to tell what happened and it'll only take 120 days to get back to Full Member.

I contacted wetsuit, but I still haven't received an answer. I then did a small deposit and my Free BTC base prize was fixed and is back to normal now. I think that there might be a new formula that determines the base prize for an account and if your current balance is lower than your total earnings (free rolls + referral earnings), which may happen when you make a withdrawal, then your base prize is halved. This is just a wild guess, so let's hope that one of the Freebitco admins tells us whether this is the case or it is something else.
Are all of you who had their base prize halved made a withdrawal? Is there anyone who have never made a withdrawal but his base prize got halved anyway?
I'm pretty sure it is not necessary to make a deposit but it is one of the many factors involved in determining the probability of abuse. I really don't think they have deliberately halved the base prize as many people have posted that Wetsuit fixed it for them. Hopefully, either Myfe or Wetsuit will update the threads and explain what has been going on.

The longer this thread goes on with out action, the closer it gets to becoming a safe haven for spam.
It looks like we've reached that point. @OP are you intending to do anything with this thread?

I (BPIP) have collected all merit data in a database, and I can send you a copy in the format you'd like if you send an email to vod@martinlawrence.ca(I may retract this offer if I get too many requests) Sending an email, thank There's also this from LoyceV

I can´t imagine that many people find talking about some irrelevant UI change more interesting than discussions about hundreds of millions of backed (according to @TheQuin) or unbacked (according to @mayax) tokens that are definitely influencing the cryptocurrency markets.
I don't think Ente's objection was about how interesting it is but rather whether it is off-topic. Although Tether and Bitfinex are owned by the same parent company it is a separate service. This is the place for Bitfinex customers to discuss UI changes and the like. If you want to start a Tether thread I'll be happy to discuss the subject with you. Or you could post in mayax's thread but it is a bit heavy on juvenile trolling and lacking in any substance.

Ahh I see, i got your point. As long if we transparent with our account and not to scam someone or bounty, then it's okay We have 2 account.. Am i correct?
The best way to do it is to leave trust from each account to the other saying it is your alt and then also post in the known Alts thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2544574.0That way there will be no misunderstanding.

There is mentioned, multiple account and account sales are allowed. Its mean, no problem if 1person having 2 account?
It is allowed but unless you publically declare it then it will be considered untrustworthy behaviour and you'll get a red tag. For example, theymos has a second account called theymos_away and everyone know that so he's not hiding anything. If someone has multiple accounts so they can cheat bounties it is another story.

However, this would only be to "new" account farmers rather than older ones since they would just as well post on their higher-ranked accounts and rank them up.
I've noticed this as well. Is it a new more intelligent set of account farmers moving in to pick the business as shitposting account farmers are forced out? Or are more Bitcoin enthusiasts joining the forum? I guess we'll find out if these well-informed noobs suddenly start posting is broken pidgin English after they have ranked up a few times. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

We all know that theymos request to eliminate The Pharmacist to be listed on Default Trust Network due to his trigger happy attitude That was me, not The Pharmacist. The Pharmacist was excluded because of OGNasty and Tomatocage, IIRC. theymos has (or at least shouldn't have) nothing to do with his exclusion. He's included by Blazed and hilariousandco which balances out the two exclusions and gives a (0). Does that mean he's back on? @Jet Cash. I can't wait for the TV series.

Not.really, if you ask Mr. Google about the diffinition of spamming then you'll know the answer, this situation won't be avoided since many of us is joining bounty as long as you make post constructively and diffinitly your not spammer.
According to the OED https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/spamSpam1 Irrelevant or unsolicited messages sent over the Internet, typically to a large number of users, for the purposes of advertising, phishing, spreading malware, etc. If someone is just posting because they are paid by an advertiser to do so and the posts are irrelevant (giving the same answer in a thread that has already been given countless times) then it qualifies as spam.

How about this case? I found this one by chance. 10 acitivities, newbie rank, 100 merits, and there is no merit history. What is this? Anyone can help to make a forensic analysis about the case (I am just kidding) because I am curious about this guy and would like to know what actually happened with the account. Thanks all in advance.
Someone deleted all their old posts and de-ranked themselves. No idea why anyone would do that unless maybe they bought the account and didn't want to be associated with the account farmer's spam.
|
|
|
Does only two members being able to reach full member after the merit system supports your claim ?
Firstly, I'm not sure if that statistic is accurate. Secondly, the old activity based system requires 120 days to get to Full Member and the system has only been in place 56 days. So however many have managed it they have done extremely well. We'll have a better idea how it is working in another couple of months time.
|
|
|
But what if I have 200+ activities but only have 1 merit? Do you consider me as a spammer?
Not necessarily but you may be. What I would think is that you're not here because you are interested in learning about and getting involved with Bitcoin. That is after all the primary purpose of the forum. Other people use it for different reasons like earning money. That's OK if they just post in those bounty threads or whatever and don't get paid for spamming the rest of the forum. But they shouldn't expect their accounts to rank up. That's the point of Merit, only those that do something worthwhile get Merit and increase rank. Of course the real way to tell if someone is a spammer is to check their post history. Edit: Exhibit A: Page 17 of has trading become difficult?Yes because there is no assurance that you can gain more profit. You have to monitor the chart time to time to get the right time to sell. I suggest you to read about trading so that you can have strategies and techiniques regarding this matter
A post that obviously nobody will ever read as it will quickly be buried amongst all the other inane replies. Those threads only exist to get spammed. No doubt something very similar and meaningless has already been said dozens of times in that thread, but nobody cares, they're not reading they're just posting to get paid. Grade A example of signature spam and it looks like you do a lot of it.
