Merit & new rank requirements

Seems like people's overall sentiments are that not enough merit is given out, is that right? I personally don't seem to see a lot of merit changing hands. Think its a great idea to incentivize good comments but not sure if it's allowing people to gain rank.

Of course, there are allocated merits to merit sources in the forum. Those ones who are knowledgeable, active users in the forum; and they are readily to send their sMerits to who deserved merits due to their contributions to the forum, and their meaningful helps to other users with their high quality, constructive, in-context threads. In-context is very important because your thread might be high quality but it will be non-sense in the case there are available threads which solved the problems of topic's creators before yours.

i see this merit pattern of growth in rank as an indirect way of stagnation, not allowing other members to also fully rank up,  because i have been reviewing it over and over in my mind Cheesy to see how effective it will be in terms of filtering and reducing bad post, what i could come up with is a very slow way  or if not impossible way of ranking up ,

who will merit a post that is just two lines of words but actually meaningful and solve a problem? what happens to such post that is short and precise and was helpful? 😁

Me and lots of other people. Have a look at Bitcoin Development & Technical Discussion and Bitcoin Technical Support boards and you'll see it happens a lot. From a quick look at your post history, you are a stranger to those areas. This is a Bitcoin forum and it's right that Merit is given to people actually discussing Bitcoin rather than posts in Altcoin bounties like yours.

I guess that is the main problem for people, making earning money as their top priority in here. I cant deny the fact that getting money by posting several times is one of a great things to do, well i dont know about bounty because i only join once in twitter bounty and it makes me lazy to retweet and tweet and post the links in my application post but i heard it is as easy as posting shit,in fact it is easier.
Guys like this should roam more in to this forum, make contribution in your local board and other board, engage in other things beside bounty or airdrops or making money things, then you will find that even 1 or 2 lines post can be meritorious the same as long post.

Im quite disappointed with this by now. Never spammed or fudded. Compiled X11 miners for people years ago and shared. Helped and carried on. Just to be at the cusp of hero (above it now) and gettin squashed by the merit system. Cant be bothered chasing another 250 ish merits. So Senior is probably me. Who cares I suppose but still..

So you are disappointed by something that you do not care about ?

You are already senior member after the merit system which is something really beneficial. There is an advantage to members who got the senior ranks because of default merits. They got the tag of being an established member because they joined the forum earlier. I am no one to judge this but now that you have got this advantage make good use of this. Posts you make will be given more value as it is being made by a member with senior rank. I do not give it much importance but new members might be doing so.

This is why we need some changes in merit system for these members who just got lucky with the current rules. The current rules considers all the senior rank members as experts irrespective of their posting history or contributions made here. There should be a requirement to get few merits per time period or per number of posts made so as to maintain the rank. This will help in number of ways. Adding the requirement of merits per time period will require all members t remain active as well. If we have such requirement per number of posts, even less active members will have a chance.

Anyone can help to make a forensic analysis about the case (I am just kidding) because I am curious about this guy and would like to know what actually happened with the account.

Someone deleted all their old posts and de-ranked themselves. No idea why anyone would do that unless maybe they bought the account and didn't want to be associated with the account farmer's spam.

Is it just me?  Or doesn't that page load too slow and the image is TOO BIG.  I did not even read it because it was loading too slow, and just seeming cumbersome.  If you make the image smaller, sncc, that might help it to load faster and to be more manageable so then others will read the substance?

I can afford to lose it, i treat this forum as a forum and not to make money on it, money is the only bonus for me. If people can make money with the right way then why not? Merit kicks in to make sure that high quality people can shine among the others who only do shitpost or even normal things. One thing for sure is, i never whine about merit and i embrace it, i think it is a great feature for the future of this forum. You should not question people who contribute even a little for the forum about making money, they earn the privilege to make money, it is a privilege for high quality and contributor people, not a right for everybody who join this forum.
