This line of argument is why I love frequenting the altcoin board. So basically what you are saying is if it is not worse than the most shitcoins out there, it is good? Yep, thats the low level every coin should aspire to. Why bother doing something in a better way when you can be mix existing algos (to actually not be x11 or x13 or x20 or x99), claim it to be fresh algo.

I think its idiotic to claim people are being jealous. Its just another coin in the wild, missed it? Meh! happens all the time. Its just that people should be aware of it. But if your arguements are to used as a yardstick well however silly it may seem to you, lets talk 3 mths down the line.

No need to revisit the coin in 3 months, I never said it's going to be a guaranteed success. I was saying that just because ~2% of the coins that are being distributed in the first 24 hours got mined by someone before launch is really not that big of a deal. If you're really frequenting this section and you think this launch was bad you must be quite busy bashing all the coins outh there. Especially so if you take the time to spread nonsense, jump onto conclusions and tell people what to do.

So let's revisit your issues:
- dogecoin logo: yep, that's a leftover, an oversight, will it kill the coin? please...
- 60 block instamine; 30 non-empty blocks out of 1410 for the first 24 hours: hardly a reason to lose sleep over;
- reused mixed algo: unfortunately this is the new trend - fresh at least had a logical reasoning behind picking the algos.

My guess is most people weren't online when the actual launch happened. Normally I don't engage in name calling on the forums but the dev is either lazy or incompetent (my vote on the latter). The so called wallet had/has dogecoin logo attached to it. Then the miner testing was done on the main net rather than the testnet allowing 70-80 blocks to be mined even before the coin was launched. So anyone mining with a view other than dumping it when it debuts on the exchange, stop now, there is no future for this coin.

Actually, the launch was pretty decent compared to the average launches these days. The dogecoin logo in the installer is just an image which got left over. In fact I think it's funny how people responded to that while some devs are using other coins' complete code instead of images and nobody cares (you decide which is worse).
The miner testing happened on testnet, although the first 70 or so blocks were indeed mined early because someone compiled the wallet before the password was released. Basically anybody who is upset about that instamined 30.000 coins while so far over 700.000 coins were mined is pretty much just jelous it wasn't him. Either way, it is silly to claim it can't have a future.

Would 3.5MHs be enough to be worth trying solo mining?

If I'm not mistaken, at the moment you would need 234 hours on average to find a block with that hashrate.

Are they lying about keeping the energy bills down? This miner is almost as hot a scrypt... anyone else noticing that?

There are no low energy algorithms, only poorly optimized miners.

Well, it's over.. Even if dev comes back and exchanges unlock the market, everyone will just dump. Dev has proven either to unstable to be a dev, or a scammer.

Oh, well, wasted like 8 hours mining those wasted coins, not even worth a big mac if exchanges start trading again. LOL.

Dump what? I think only the dev got ahold of those 800 reward blocks, we just mined the crumbs.
4468  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [FRSH] FreshCoin | FRESH algo! | Slingshield | % fees | Launch 7/7- 18GMT on: July 07, 2014, 06:55:53 PM

I think this was a good launch.   Pretty impressive to have a new algo with all the miners ready to go.   So many people complain and blame the dev when really its there own fault of not understanding what to do.   I tip my hat to you dev.   Good Job Dev. Launch was on time and you had everything ready.  Grin Grin Grin

Thanks for this nice message. The launch was a bit more bumpy than I hoped for, but most things getting stable now. I will look into the reported problems!

Considering how these things usually go, this wasn't bumpy at all.

Well done.

that's confirm that dev didn't fix anything except a larger block for yesterday instamine... this coin is definitely a scam.

Man if you search back I had the same trouble. It is not the risers it is the psu. It can't handle the load even if it is a 1200w. It just this line is poor it is made for harddisks not gpus. You should get cheap non USB risers and get the power from the pci-e of the board and you will have no issue. The problem of the USB powered risers is that they are fine if the cards has external molex for power. The USB risers don't get power from the psi-e , that is why you have problems. If you try a scrypt coin or scrypt n with cudaminer you will have the problem very fast cause it uses much more power.

As I've learned lately the capacity of the PSU is not the issue, it's about how that capacity is being divided over the rails.
Your 1100w Coolermaster PSU has 6 x 12V rails, 20-22A each which means each rail can output a maximum of 120-132W. So the only way to pull anywhere near 1100W is to use all the rails (Molex/SATA/GPU) together.

Guitarplinker's Rosewill HIVE 750W PSU has only one rail (54A) which means he can pull up to 648W even if he only uses the SATA ports.

Same reason I had to replace my EVGA SuperNOVA NEX650G (4 x ~20A 12V rails) PSUs for XFX Core Edition PRO650W (1 x 53A 12V single rail)

So is the launch going to be pushed back once again or they just simply forget to launch this time?

Not launched on time, who would have thought...

And the miner just crashed again.   Angry Looks like it's time to start swapping out risers to see if one of them is the culprit for these crashes.

What algo/settings you're trying to mine?

It can be, mine is...
But I suggest to plug the monitor to a GPU connected to a x16 slot.

 Wink

Oh, thanks. I was told otherwise.

Could be the risers. I had 2 cards (in different rigs) which kept crashing even with very low overclock then I replaced the risers on them and now they can take just as much OC as the rest.
4476  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner & ccMiner CUDA based mining applications [Windows/Linux/MacOSX] on: July 06, 2014, 04:52:34 PM
I'm having some issues with CCMiner/Windows, and wondering if you guys can try and help me out.

You're PSU should easily handle the cards so I'm wondering what kind of risers you're using?

Edit:
The cards are all on risers.

As far as I know your main card (the one you connect to the monitor) should not be on a riser.

That's good news. I hope the miner for nvidia gpus make it before launch.

FreshCoin is a revolutionary Fresh PoW coin featuring a new FRESH mining algorithm.  This new algorithm consumes 15% to 20% less energy compared to x11 / x13 / 15. The FRESH algorithm cherry picked and combined the most low energy hashing algorithms (SHAVITE, SIMD & ECHO) which results in the most ENERGY efficient hashing solution available. The combination of 5 rounds of multiple algorithms stand for high security and will keep ASIC miners away.

This looks nice! And there's a bounty for ccminer.
