Looks like Celtics are not going anywhere here, are we going to see another classic game 7 here?
It's not likely to witness a game 7 in ECF with the way the Celtics are playing in game 6.

Congrats to them, the offense was great, and in fact I have won my over bet, EASY!

Herro suddenly cooled off in this game but Tatum and Brown were still consistent.

Let's go Boston!

I don't like the Idea of having Dragic to handle the ball that Long, either let Butler or Herro instead of him taking the charge.

I agree, he seems to be holding the ball too long and then become an isolation player by driving into the basket. So let's see how they are going to adjust on the next game.

Looking to this series, Boston get another  Breathing I love how Smart taking the leadership boosting his teammate to keep fighting and
not to give up, he brings everything cheering up Tatum and Walker, if they continue to play like this with Hayward and Theis support inside
the rim, giving hard time for Bam and crowder, maybe we will see do or die with this series.

Season is not yet over for them, they are working hard to keep the series to go and extend to game 7 and keeping it more interesting. If they are going to win the next game, it will be a momentum shift for Boston and it will be a classic game 7 for sure.

4464  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Manny Pacquiao vs. Conor McGregor on: September 26, 2020, 09:18:41 AM
Lots of contradictory statements, other media outlet says this is going to happen, but Sean Gibbons issue a different statement. If the fight is going to happen and for sure there will be no fans to watch because we are still under threat from the covid -19 virus, then how can they generate huge money? PPV will not be enough to generate if their goal is to raise as much money to help the covid-19 victims in the Philippines?

Floydie maybe laughing his ass off hearing this news, he started this trend and it shows that Manny is just following on his foot steps. And then Conor McGregor is the sure winner here, as he has the potential to make a lot of money fighting this legendary boxers.
4465  Other / Beginners & Help / How a crypto related website fall for a phishing thru Google Ad and gets hack on: September 26, 2020, 08:53:13 AM
I will just share you an interesting story about a crypto related website, who admit that they have fallen for a phishing attack and lost almost 0,615 BTC. They blame Google, although I must admit that Google has a lot of security lapses and we have been calling them for years to no avail. So it really fall on our lap not to used their services or at least minimised our exposure and do due diligence when using their services.

Quote
How it all started

On  September 23, we needed to log in to the editorial BTC wallet to pay for the services.  Phishing is most dangerous for “hot wallet” users — we kept our funds at Blocкchain.com — and fraudsters stole almost 0,615 BTC from it. You can track the phishers’ address here

At the time of publication, it turned out that 4.6 BTC from 16 transactions had already accumulated on the phishers' address — at least 12 more people fell for the bait. Imagine if there are more addresses though...

Mistake #1

Our wallet account operator used Google search console, entering a “blockchain” query. The official website is 1st among the organic results, but… fraudsters use Google AdWords to place their ad which leads to the phishing website. Noone is protected from social engineering: users can be hasty or distracted and follow the phishing link. This way, our operator was directed to the false authorization page which looks exactly like the official page.

https://cryptonews.net/en/news/security/385689/

Again, Google has been notorious for allowing crypto phishing to show in their ads. We have seen hundreds of reports, from blockchain.com, to exodus, to atomic wallet to Poloniex and Binance to Bitmain to Uni and Defi thingy, everything under the sun.

In a perfect world, this shouldn't happen, but that is not the case, even crypto-related websites such as this one can be a victim here.

4467  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: And this is how you make 'easy' money riding the Defi on: September 24, 2020, 01:14:04 PM
Nice write up, simply put this are the ways those scammers are going to work moving forward to catch unsuspecting victims. And we can't really do anything unless these noobs experience losses in their crypto journey.

Again, if there are no victims, these criminals are going to stop and won't even lift a finger. But the problem is that there are still investors who blindly trust people because they think that they can make money. On the contrary, they are going to lose more if they invest on pure greed and FOMO.
4468  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do people keep playing unlicensed, illegal slot machines? on: September 24, 2020, 11:28:07 AM
This machine is dangerous since the result would likely be rigged, no RTP information, no certification, no provably fair, etc. But the business keeps booming. Is this because of a mere convenience? Or something else? Nowadays, people can play from their mobile phones, online, on legit casinos.

The only reason I can think of is that they can't really control themselves not to gamble in this kind of machines. So it boils down to human psychology 101, and the operators very much know this, so it's a win-win situation.

They've simply open up, and someone walks, here the sounds of a very attractive slot machine, you get hooked, and then voila, you are trap. And you don't know maybe you are losing 10$-100$ quickly and you thought you can get back and chase your losses, very bad but you can't exit. So I would agree that it's dangerous to play this kind of illegal machine and it will take a lot of control not to fall for this trick.
4469  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Charlo vs Derevyanchenko on Sept 26 on: September 24, 2020, 11:01:23 AM
Odd is higher to Derevyanchenk if we will going to base on boxing records it seems that he is at disadvantge in this match. But in boxing the fight is being determine on how dedicated a boxer may be in the preparation for fight. Boxing is not only about making punches and score.  Boxing too is all about hardwork and dedication to win the match.

Correct, but in his two title fights, he lost to Daniel Jacob and GGG. So he is somewhat what we call a gate keeper. And sometimes hard work is not enough, you really have the whole package to really elevate yourself against those champion.

Still my bet will goes to Charlo, LOL he has the talent and skills to win the match and way dedicated too to promote his boxing career.

And with that said, I will say that Charlo will come up the winner here. Still in his prime and I think he will show us his skills in this fight so that we will get a crack and huge pay check on this next fight.

4471  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What if "De-Fi" platforms become regulated in the future? on: September 23, 2020, 11:02:00 PM
What do you think the outcome of "De-Fi" regulation will be? Will governments be successful at the task like they did with ICOs? Or not? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Smiley

The governments or at least US SEC is not successful in regulating ICO in 2017 and they are late in filing cases and they are just ramping up their litigations this 2020. And besides they have Hester Peirce, which is a pro crypto, so I doubt that they will ran after this DEFI hype for now.

And what they are after right now is that those ICO who misinterpret their fund raising, they are after who run an security based on their definition. So unless they categorized DEFI as security then I doubt that they will go after it.

Lakers 2, Nuggets 1

With under five minutes in the 4th quarter, I though Lakers is going to mount a late comeback. They managed to bring the lead down to three but Nuggets pulled away again.

I fancy Nuggets chances of beating the Lakers in this series. I like how they always look the underdog but they don't really care who is in front of them hehe.

They mount a comeback, but damn, Murray is hot and closing the game with that long 3's. It's was a good comeback from the Lakers though, but it is not enough. I thought we might see a overtime in game 3. But Nuggets is too much and makes the series more interesting. And the good thing is that they're able to have a good lead, unlike in the first two games wherein they are the one mounting a late comeback. And this give them enough cushion they lead as much as 20 at one point.

As I said in my previous posts, if Nuggets won't let Lakers have a big lead, their chances of winning is big and this is what happened in game 3. The opposite happened, it's not that they able to stay and keep the Lakers in close distance, the Nuggets took a big lead.

Big respect for Jokic and Murray, they really step it up and Lakers didn't respond although they made a comeback but Murray put the game away for good.
4474  Other / Beginners & Help / Password Spray Attack vs Brute Force Attack on: September 23, 2020, 12:20:57 PM
Password Spray Attack - it can be defined as one method being used by cyber criminals to gain access on some organisations or individuals using a commonly used known passwords such as "password', 1234, or 'qwerty'. So the first thing they do is harvest emails and then 'spray' using the those weak passwords, hence password spray attack.

Brute Force Attack - is the exact opposite, the hackers are guessing our password, and works on every possible combinations in the hope that they will get it correctly. This is much more difficult though and might take some time for criminals.

Usually the initial step is through spear phishing, and then if they have harvested emails, then they can do any of the attacks above. And then once they hijack your machines, they can do anything they want, like installing malware or stealing our crypto credentials directly.

How do we protect ourselves from such attacks?

Of course we should used strong passwords and don't use anything that can be guessed easily, like your birthdate, initials of your name. And when possible used a longer password at least 10 characters with combinations of symbols and numbers.

And this thread can help you out: [GUIDE] How to Create a Strong/Secure Password.

4475  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kraken Is Returning to Japan on: September 23, 2020, 11:33:17 AM
Kraken has been operating in Japan from 2014-2018 and decided to leave July that year because of the regulatory pressures from FSB. And if I'm not mistaken, it was also the same issue why Binance left and go to Malta. This is an old tweet detailing the reason of them leaving,

https://twitter.com/RubenFrosali/status/986063464463351809

The question is why makes them go back to Japan?

Nothing has change in Japan though, there regulation is very strict as far I know, thru their Payment Service Act. And if my memory serves me right, even Bitmex has some restrictions for Japanese registered user because of the amendment of the Payment Service Act.

So if there is a change, the law became more stringent, maybe they have registered to FSA (Financial Service Agency) and probably will do self regulatory. Or it's just the Asian market is really attractive and they want to get inside again and be a one of the big player.
4476  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Operation DisrupTor: Over $6.5m in cash and crypto seized by FBI on: September 23, 2020, 11:08:22 AM
In a joint operation with different US agencies and other countries, FBI seized of of Weapons, Drugs and over $6.5 Million in cash and crypto. Coordinated effort to stop the trade of opium trafficking in the dark net. Resulting in an arrest of 170 criminals worldwide.

Quote
The extensive operation, which lasted nine months, resulted in over dozens of federal prosecutions including:

The Los Angeles JCODE Task Force, in conjunction with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California, successfully dismantled a drug trafficking organization that used online monikers such as “Stealthgod” to sell methamphetamine and MDMA on multiple Darknet marketplaces. Investigators have linked the crew to more than 18,000 illicit drug sales to customers in at least 35 states and numerous countries around the world. During law enforcement actions in Southern California earlier this year, members of JCODE arrested five defendants and seized approximately 120 pounds of methamphetamine, seven kilograms of MDMA and five firearms. Two of the five – Teresa McGrath, 34, of Sunland-Tujunga, and Mark Chavez, 41, of downtown Los Angeles – have since pleaded guilty to narcotics-trafficking and other offenses, and each faces a 15-year mandatory minimum sentence. As the investigation continued, the Los Angeles JCODE Task Force made additional seizures, including $1.6 million in cryptocurrency, 11 pounds of methamphetamine and 14 pounds of pills pressed with methamphetamine. Andres Bermudez, 37, of Palmdale, California, who allegedly was a main supplier of methamphetamine to the “Stealthgod” crew, was charged last week with a narcotics-trafficking offense that carry a 10-year mandatory minimum sentence. He is considered a fugitive.

Arden McCann, 32, of Quebec, Canada, was charged with conspiring to import drugs into the United States and money laundering conspiracy, in a four-count indictment returned by a grand jury in Atlanta, Georgia. According to court documents, the defendant is alleged to have imported alprazolam, fentanyl, U-47700, and fentanyl analogues such as carfentanil, furanyl fentanyl, 4-fluoroisobutyryl fentanyl, acryl fentanyl, and methoxyacetyl fentanyl into the United States from Canada and China. The superseding indictment alleges that fentanyl analogues the defendant imported into the United States resulted in a non-fatal overdose in April 2016, and fentanyl the defendant imported into the United States resulted in an overdose death in December 2016.

Khlari Sirotkin, 36, of Colorado; Kelly Stephens, 32, of Colorado; Sean Deaver, 36, of Nevada; Abby Jones, 37, of Nevada; and Sasha Sirotkin, 32, of California, were charged with drug trafficking and money laundering conspiracy, in a 21-count indictment returned by a grand jury in Cincinnati, Ohio. According to court documents, the defendants are alleged to be members of one of the most prolific online drug trafficking organizations in the United States and allegedly specialized in the manufacturing and distribution of more than one million fentanyl-laced counterfeit pills and laundered approximately $2.8 million over the course of the conspiracy. The pressed fentanyl pills, along with heroin, methamphetamine and cocaine, were shipped to the Southern District of Ohio and throughout the country. FBI, DEA, FDA, HSI and USPIS agents seized 2.5 kilograms of fentanyl; 5,095 pressed xanax; 50 suboxone; 16.5 grams of cocaine; 37 grams of crystal meth; 12 grams of black tar heroin; an industrial pill press; 5,908 pounds of dried marijuana with an estimated street value of $9 million; $80,191 in cash, 10 firearms and one pound of fentanyl.

The FBI Washington Field Office’s Hi-Tech Opioid Task Force, in conjunction with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia, successfully thwarted a firebomb attack plot involving explosives, firearms, the Darknet, prescription opioid trafficking, cryptocurrency, and sophisticated money laundering. William Anderson Burgamy, 33, of Hanover, Maryland, and Hyrum T. Wilson, 41, of Auburn, Nebraska, pleaded guilty in the Eastern District of Virginia to charges related to a conspiracy to use explosives to firebomb and destroy a competitor pharmacy in Nebraska. Burgamy, who is not a pharmacist, operated as the Darknet vendor NeverPressedRX (NPRX) since at least August 2019. Wilson, who was a licensed pharmacist, illegally mailed to Burgamy over 19,000 dosage units of prescription medications, including opioids, from his pharmacy in Nebraska. Burgamy illegally sold prescription drugs through his Darknet vendor account to customers nationwide, and claimed at one point that he made nearly $1 million total. Burgamy and Wilson agreed that Burgamy and another individual would carry multiple firearms during the attack operation and use explosives, specifically Molotov cocktails enhanced with Styrofoam as a thickening agent, to burn the victim pharmacy down in furtherance of their drug trafficking scheme. Law enforcement agents seized thousands of opioid pills, eight unsecured firearms, including two loaded AR-15 assault rifles with high capacity magazines, and over $19,000 cash. Prior to Burgamy’s arrest in April 2020, which uncovered and thwarted the firebombing plot, Burgamy and Wilson fully intended on the attack occurring after COVID-19 restrictions were lifted.

Aaron Brewer, 39, of Corsicana, Texas, was charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance and distribution of a controlled substance in a two-count indictment returned by a grand jury in the Northern District of Texas. According to court documents, the defendant allegedly sold cocaine, heroin, and other drugs via the dark web. He allegedly accepted payment in cryptocurrency, primarily bitcoin, and then shipped the drugs to customers’ addresses through the U.S. mail and other shipping services.  Following Mr. Brewer’s arrest on July 2, agents with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and FBI Dallas Field Office seized roughly 650 grams of black tar heroin, cocaine, and OxyContin, two computers, and more than $870 in postage stamps, as well as a ledger outlining 757 drug shipments sent to 609 unique addresses between December 2019 and March 2020.

https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/international-law-enforcement-operation-targeting-opioid-traffickers-darknet-results-over-170

So it's sending a message across the globe that the days of dark web will no longer 'fence' anyone, and even if you used crypto, the law enforcement agencies are going to track and hunt you down.

Kraken Is Returning to Japan

Quote
Kraken is excited to announce we will soon be reopening services in Japan, a move that’s part of a broader initiative to expand our industry-leading services into high-growth APAC markets.

The announcement follows Kraken’s expansion into the rapidly growing Australian market with the acquisition of Bit Trade and the launch of funding and trading in Australian dollars.

We believe the Japan market is ripe for re-entry. Interest in cryptocurrencies is spiking globally, and with its crypto-friendly history and well-established regulatory environment, Japan is poised to be a leading country in the next wave of crypto adoption.

Kraken exited Japan in 2018 in order to focus its resources on improving in other markets that were growing exponentially at the time.

https://blog.kraken.com/post/6343/kraken-is-returning-to-japan/

Seems that Kraken is expanding very fast this year, as they officially announced that they are going back to Japan. As far as I can remember, they move out because of heavy regulatory as Japan tightens its grip on crypto exchange back then because of the Coincheck hack ($540 million).

But it seems that Kraken are going back after all, because Japan is a huge market in Asia, together with China and South Korea.
4478  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Micah - Sept 26 on: September 22, 2020, 01:32:42 PM
Casimero is still on Inoue's list. I'm not sure though on another hand if Inoue is still on Casimero's list as he has another target if ever he will win on his upcoming match.

Yes, he is still on Casimero's list. In a recent interview, Casimero was asked who he preferred to fight if ever he get past Duke Micah and he quickly answered the three names in order  Smiley, Luis Nerry, Inoue and Guillermo Rigondeaux. I just wonder why Inoue is second on the list as he should be fighting this guy last April.

Perhaps he wanted to shut down the big mouth of Nery as they have been going back and forth and throwing words against its other, besides, Nery is Mexican, you know, the old rivalry between Filipinos and Mexican boxers.  Smiley

But I'm sure Inoue will still be in his hit list, Rigondeaux is already past his prime, high risk low reward for him. I do hope the gets past Micah first before looking at bigger fights.
4479  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum High Fee on: September 22, 2020, 12:49:37 PM
What is the reason of high transactions fee in Ethereum Blockchain? How could this problem  reach to solved out for the Ethereum consumers? Can we expect this problem in Ethereum 2.0 too? How long this problem will take to solve out? Most of the consumers are not using Ethereum smart contracts due to this high fee transactions. What could be the consequences in the price of Ethereum due to this problem?

One reason could be the Defi hype as investors busy depositing it to lending platforms or performed a swap. How long we don't know, we are just starting or in the middle of the Defi hype so expect that the price will continue to go up.

Hopefully Eth2.0 will resolve this once they release it on November (hopefully). As far as the effects, I doubt that it will have a negative impact, as long as people making money then they will continue to used ETH although the profit will be lower. Or they can mitigate it right away by implement sidechains, just like Liquid for BTC.

Pro-cryptocurrency Commissioner Hester Peirce objected to the enforcement action, saying that it may set a precedent that would stifle future innovation.
I do not know what the relationship between it and the stifle of innovation, that they have made a funding round and obtained an amount of money without doing their part in the deal.

I think we should understand where Hester Peirce is coming from, after all, she is a pro-crypto. And being a pro-crypto obviously she will have to challenge and question the decision. However, I believed that this is the correct enforcement. The project failed to deliver its promised and duped their investors.

Again, SEC is applying the law here, and we all know that these kind of scams are very rampant during that time and many of them simply exit scams without being meted any penalties resulting to lost just not the money itself, but in the confidence of crypto market.
