4481  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitfury: "16nm... sales to public start shortly" on: October 16, 2016, 12:43:59 AM
Indeed things are moving. I'll get you some updates next week.

LMAO,another teaser???  Yeah,I'll believe it when I see it....but there will be nothing to show us...again  Cheesy

Least not for another 6-8 months   Roll Eyes
Maybe they'll actually show us a chip this time... a new diagram Smiley If we're lucky, this new chip might be released next year. If we aren't, it's already scrapped  Grin still waiting for a chip from these guys still, i have hope in anything that isn't Bitmain. We need some diversity in the bitcoin mining scene.
4482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can disappear? on: October 16, 2016, 12:42:18 AM
bitcoin is not like fraud bank and other small financial institutions. it is fully decentralized and it runs automatically and no one needs to control it. so there is no need to control it and it doesn't depend on anyone. so obviously there is no fear of bitcoin disappearance.

Bitcoin can be the bigger ponzi scheme of the world if you think about that.
That's just numbers and people put money, the price of the numbers goes high "day after day" and well, who invest first will have a good profit Wink
Think about it.
there is only few conspicary theory that says bitcoin the biggest scam the biggest ponzi scheme
and so far only weak conspiracy theory popping up
they can prove stronger evidence , so it is just a speculation
however i personally still in between believe and doubt in bitcoin so yeah bitcoin can dissapear anytime but not soon.
Bitcoin is alive already for 7 years and will be making very soon 8 years, those theories has no funds, they pick random things to try to hit bitcoin believers, if bitcoin were something like those, it should had already failed, soo if bitcoin were a ponzi how they able to keep alive soo many years and will keep making it alive over a lot more years.
If bitcoin is a scam. I think it was dissapear no longer when it is created. But the fact is bitcoin still alive until now and so many people still thrust to bitcoin. May be it becouse bitcoin was helped so many people to get a better live or future.
Yeah, just like every other digital method of payment like credit cards and Paypal. Bitcoin's got a good cause, and it's pretty unlikely it was created for malicious intent of any kind. It's helped millions of people around the world, and it can indeed change, but again, it's unlikely as it's used for many good purposes.
4483  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has no competition on: October 16, 2016, 12:40:59 AM
At least in the near future, there won't be much competition for Bitcoin; it's the father of cryptocurrencies and nobody really wants to abandon it for any other currency. It's got huge volume, a large userbase, and unless something bad happens to it nothing will happen.
4484  Economy / Exchanges / Re: bit cions for cash on: October 16, 2016, 12:17:23 AM
Many exchanges and even people on the forum offer these kinds of services; just always be sure to review the site and use escrow if you are dealing with people on the forum, and you should be fine. Try to avoid methods like paypal which can be reversed, and other than that, it's your own choice what site or user to use.
4485  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ICONOMI - Fund Management Platform on: October 16, 2016, 12:15:36 AM

A solution would be to give out the token and let the investors decide whether to move their coins to their wallets.

How to deploy 800k gas token contract with 500k gas limit?

Before that was at least theoretically possible (practically not - we're hands on), now it's impossible even theoretically.

well, good luck trying to deploy the contract and figure things out- it'll work out eventually, and some of us at least have the patience for the coin to even launch. It's unfortunate that many are dumping their coins, but i guess that's life.
4486  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What is the BEST mining hardware at the moment? on: October 15, 2016, 09:18:48 PM
There's a reason the answer is vague, and that's mainly because you haven't provided any information on cooling, electrical costs, etc.
If you have electrical costs below 3-4 cents and have average cooling, go for the S7 or its LN- counterpart. Otherwise, the S9 is the way to go if your electricity is below .10$/kwh and you have good cooling. The R4 isn't really good for a serious miner; it's efficiency is a little worse, even though it uses the same chips, and they charge a bit of a premium for the fact that it is home-friendly. Keep in mind you can replace fans if you need to; a 120mm pwm that has good airflow above 3000rpm will work and usually make the miner quieter.

Sent you an email titled 'Monero coin request'. Seems like a great design, thanks for supporting the community Smiley I was expecting just a coin, but not a hologram included!
4488  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ICONOMI - Fund Management Platform on: October 15, 2016, 06:19:50 PM
The best part about reading this thread is that you can see where the discussion's gone to shit, and it's just people spreading FUD and arguing about pointless things. Guess that's what happens when you offer such a high bounty and try to do the right thing.

Probably the most immature cryptocurrency community I've ever seen in a very long time. Won't be supporting this for long, it's clear that nobody actually cares about ICN'S success at all, and they just want to get out ASAP.
4489  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Buying ICONOMI / ICN shares on: October 15, 2016, 02:42:47 PM
Selling 21,000 ICN @ 0.0003BTC each, so total sums to be: 6.3BTC
ICN account will be handovered to you , you can set your own 2FA.

currently i am out of town , so will not be able to reply pm.
regards,
James
offer still available.

Considering there's people selling at ico price, you probably aren't going to find any buyers anytime soon. GL though, eventually the people selling will exhaust their supplies and you'll be able to sell in a few days after this blows over.

Reading this thread i had nto saw anyone offering them at ICO price.
I did saw few buying at ICO price or a bit higher.

But if this offer was not taken for so long seems price of this risky pre exchange tookens is between 0.00022 and 0.0003 BTC
I messaged a guy and he wanted 0.0001 per token, there are definitely people out there who want to buy in at a low price, and there are people panic selling at that price. At this rate, I'd expect a dump once they get onto exchanges, if at all they do. Nobody knows though, I'll probably HODL until they get to 0.0004 or something like that.

4491  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ICONOMI - Fund Management Platform on: October 15, 2016, 11:03:00 AM
The funniest part with all of this is the fact that we've got an amazing opportunity to buy at below-ico prices and recieve dividends, as well as sell when the ICO is over. I'll be buying your ICN at 0.10$ per, message me if you'd like to sell. Pretty funny imo, if you can't wait for a coin to be launched, investing isn't for you. The team's doing what they need to do.
4492  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How do you actually profit from mining? on: October 13, 2016, 11:27:14 PM
To get a return on investment within a year, please ensure your electricity cost is less than $0.10/Kwh.
Chinese miners operate at $0.03/Kwh, that's why bitcoin mining is profitable for them, else you can mine a profitable altcoin and exchange for bitcoins.

http://www.coinwarz.com/calculators/bitcoin-mining-calculator/?h=14000&p=1375&pc=0.10&pf=1.00&d=258522748404.51500000&r=12.50000000&er=634.61000000&hc=2400

At current diff, and current block reward, it'll take about a year and 3 months to pay back an S9 (if you bought it brand new, not counting the custom's import duty nor postage costs, at current diff and block reward, IF you keep on mining 24/7)... Even with 10 cents/Kwu, i'd defenately think twice before i started mining for profit...
That's with current difficulty, which probably won't hold very steady t all. Hashrate is bound to go up, and ROI is getting further and further away. The fact of the matter is that mining simply isn't profitable for most people in the world, and it won't be in the future. Another factor that most people don't look at is cooling, which can actually cost quite a bit. You'll want a nice, cool room- a hot environment isn't going to do you much good for your miner's lifetime.
4493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Buying ICONOMI / ICN shares on: October 13, 2016, 11:17:36 PM
Another one week to wait the ICN Tokens. I think having this will make the ICN price raise.

I will sell my ICN token if 1 ICN is equal to 0.001 BTC Cheesy ICN to the Moon!
To many people support the ICO so ithink 0.001 is possible but no One knows if it's really happen. Maybe it will honestly I want to sell mine @ high price if possible.
It's going to take quite some time for ICN to even reach the 0.0005 mark, which is probably near or around where I'll sell my ICN. It's definitely got potential, and the fact that dividends will be recieved makes it more likely to be held rather than sold immediately after the coin is launched. IOU price is not a good way to look at the price of the coin accurately at all; in most cases, dumping brings the price down almost instantaneously.

That said, I am selling around 2350 ICN for 0.000425 BTC each. PM me for details.
4494  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ICONOMI - Fund Management Platform ❘|❘ ICO CLOSED on: October 13, 2016, 12:07:14 AM
Just a very simple question and very easy to answer if you're a ICN Dev. Will today is the distribution of the ICN tokens to our ETH Wallet? Sorry for repeated question Smiley

The ICN tokens will be distribution today if they not have a issue about the network eth
Please be more patience you will get your tokens soon.
just make token will not need to take a long time in this case, I think it is not like making their own ALTcoins
It's not a big deal (arguably), so I agree with you on this one; they might delay it a day or two, but iirc there was a message that the worst case scenario would be that it'd be delayed a week. Just relax, time means more time for the coin to get onto exchanges and more exposure. This is only the beginning of Iconomi, just just a phase.
Let the dumpers dump and the holders hold. It's just how life works.
4495  Economy / Services / Re: [H] BTC [W] Blog comments | I go first for writing on: October 12, 2016, 08:29:20 PM
Pm'ed you; if you don't recieve it, I'll resend. Definitely interested in this job, will update this post or make a new one once I get my payment. I have lots of experience as you can see in my PM. Looking forward to make some comments for you.
4496  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Dont have to pay for electricity, whats the best miner? on: October 12, 2016, 08:16:48 PM
I would agree with philipma1957, get an S7 and downclock. This will still give you a decent hashrate and low enough power draw that you should be safe with anything that has fairly recent wiring (within the last 20 years). This would also be somewhat quiet, the power supply might be loud depending on what you use. Also depending on the size of the apartment heat might become an issue for you. You are essentially talking about running an 800watt heater all the time.

It also means that you'll use less money on heating this year if you live in a cooler place in the northern hemisphere- although miners don't provide the best heating, they do make a room nice and toasty in just a few minutes. You can always underclock a miner for less heat production if needed.
4497  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Small scale mining with free electricity on: October 12, 2016, 08:13:59 PM
A huge issue people don't often realise is the fact that ventilation is very important to the efficiency and lifetime of miners. You'll need a well-cooled room that has ventilation; I use my basement because of its coolness and also the fact that it's pretty quiet when I put my S5s and S3's there. Everybody else has miners covered, but you'll need to watch how much electricity you can use as well- you may very well have pretty low limits.

Generally, aim for obsolete units that provide good hashrate; if you're genuinely unsure if you want to do this, a used S1 on free electricity can be a good learning experience; you won't earn much, even with free electricity, but it works.
4498  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Does anyone have the math on time for Antminer S3 to 1 Bitcoin? on: October 10, 2016, 11:23:35 PM
I wonder if Antminer S3 can be used to mine an altcoin instead. That will be better than just leaving the machine to rot somewhere in the attic.
It's still not going to make you much, if at all you get anything out of it. Unless you have absolutely free electricity, it's not worth mining anything with the S3 unless you're like me and just want a nice and quiet lottery miner. People have hit blocks solomining with S3's and S5s, so it's definitely possible. I assume you have a normal electricity cost, though, so in that case you won't ever get near 1 BTC in the next 4 years.
4499  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Real or BS? THMINERS.COM realeases new 60TH Bitcoin and 1200MH Litecoin miner. on: October 10, 2016, 04:56:35 PM
Considering most of these cryptocurrency blogs do this kind of stuff to make money anyways, doing your own research is more important than ever. I usually only look at smaller sites for information; they are usually less corruptible and provide more honest opinions as well as getting straight to the facts.

Coin Telegraph has been posting b.s since they've gotten this big, I'm surprised people even read it anymore.
4500  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How do I get started mining ? on: October 10, 2016, 04:45:06 PM
Buy a cheap miner and mine away?  Best miner for home use is the R7-LN or the R4 which is more efficient.  My power company just lowered their rates to 2 cents for winter.  I believe I will solo mine all winter and I may or may not hit the lottery.   Cheaper than a lottery ticket addiction in my opinion?
I believe you mean the S7-LN. IT actually won't profit for most people, as it's efficiency is comparable to that of the S7. The R4 is, imo, a waste of money; the S9 is a better and slightly more efficient solution. It's not guaranteed that you hit a block, and it can actually cost more than buying lottery tickets over a long time.
