4481  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io UEFA Nations League Prediction Pool Discussion Thread on: May 31, 2022, 04:24:04 PM
Hey guys, ok, so this is where I really do pretty shit, because with internationals, form is impossible to predict in between tournaments and that's generally how I make my predictions. Gut is even worse, because my instincts for teams is probably outdated by several years (I still always favour Turkey for example) and strangely, I might even do better with non League A teams as I was doing well predicting central Asian and Caucasus teams ha!

That said, I remember AFCON disappointing me with 1-0 games all the time. Nations League last seasons were pretty high-scoring as I recall.

Any BTTS values ser Trofo? I have about half my early picks with to nil scores. And only one draw (1-1) for the Italy game. They made me a lot of happy memories in EURO but I wonder if they've suddenly lost their form (and is Chiellini actually still lining up or did he completely retire?).
4482  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcasino.io 💜 — Register on Bitcasino 🚀 100 NFTs up for grabs 🤩 on: May 31, 2022, 03:11:38 PM
Just popped in to chat seeing all the NFT talk going on. Not interested in it myself but I know plenty of people would, so leaning with Kakmakr here on saying there should be a separate promo (wager for raffle tickets with connected ETH wallet and then have a draw).

Better still, have a single NFT drawn up and split into 10 components for all the winners (that's a thing right?).

Oh, and Refiloe Maele Phoolo is pretty cool =D
4483  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +82103 units on: May 31, 2022, 01:16:59 PM
I will take a minor break, normally this thread runs daily from end to start of season, but will for sure return for the new 22/23 season with the English Community Shield.

This post marks the end of a fourth tracked season, which ended pretty much as bad as it possibly could with betting almost all profits on Liverpool, who lost the UCL final. A final tally from last season:

Running advantage after 139 bets: +14858
All-time cumulative: +82,959
Running units after 139 bets (17W|122L): +38

This will be entered into OP record. At least we're avoided having one season in the red. See you all 31 July 2022 (early odds are Liverpool 27/10 against City which I already put money on but I'll add the link when opening the new season.

Didn't know I was old hat haha but yeah, been in a lucky streak with SB promos and stuff, don't think there aren't others luckier though, they're just not on the forum. SB pretty much spends a lot of time taking their customers out for sports events here and there -- it's just the footie here that's probably more "global" for the forum to enjoy.

Saw a Turkish league special today, so it's definitely still happening, just perhaps back to the old format of specials going live every few hours closer to event.
4486  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin long-term holders continuing to ‘soak up supply’ around $30K on: May 31, 2022, 09:34:20 AM
I wonder if it's the same in the stock markets really. Big tech ones like Mr Musk's own is still down more than 50% from ATH (same as Bitcoin really) and if there are stubborn long-termer Bitcoiners soaking up all the sell orders, I suspect the same is happening elsewhere across the board with global markets. Forex, stocks, commodities. Just believers biting down hard and coping.

Didn't mean to sound like a dampened blanket, just wondering if/when Bitcoin will shrug off the correlation this year.
4487  Economy / Speculation / Re: Holding my horses for now on: May 31, 2022, 08:00:49 AM
Hah, haven't check the price this past 24 hours and surprised, surprised, we are back in the $30k'ish. But nothing to celebrate here, perhaps investors put their money, or shall I say short day traders and speculators, trying to squeeze some profit at this bear market.

As for the DCA, yeah, it's proven strategy already, it has been advised many times and so far no can argue against this time and proven method.

And we've moved to $31k, and probably might attempt to get into the $32k and most likely will end what the week with 9th consecutive candles? If that happens then maybe, June might be a good month after all as we have a break out run then.

That's just bitcoin proving it's resiliency, we might be in a bear market, but from time to time we will see some good bounce back,

OK, fine, so we've held above the line for the full 24 hours I'd hoped for. Not only that, edged up higher into $31k territory (though volatility has racked up a notch now, European market open has caused a near 32 attempt to fall back about $500.

Thing to note though is that stocks have generally rallied as well and some US shares are even doing better than Bitcoin, so this could simply be a correlation thing once more.

Inflation numbers coming, Fed to raise interest again, so we could very well see a tumble.
4488  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: May 31, 2022, 06:31:54 AM
Go figure, huh Trofo, I put correct scores 3:1 and 3:2 on Cilic, and I actually saw the end of first set, was hoping he'd win it, but wasn't expecting to see him get it given to him on a plate with double faults. Bloody hell haha.

Straight set win put me out, and odds on that were actually higher than the 10/1s I took haha.

Oh well, least I avoided the Tsitsi bet too.
4489  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Habitual Bitcoin Buyer-Not what you think on: May 30, 2022, 02:49:10 PM
My sympathies and I guess that's one form of addiction that's really hard to describe much less prevent.

It doesn't happen to me just like that, though. I don't buy but earn, and I can tell you in the early days of earning, I'd sell less than I actually needed, a little less each time, leaving off bills and stuff, thinking, hey, I might sell when it goes up, pay those off plus fines and penalties, and have more on the side. Timing my sells really.

Worked out sometimes, didn't other times. Stressful and wish I'd learnt sooner, at least after the 2017 peak, as it cost me a tad more than I'd have had if I kept it to simple DCA.

^ The cash cushion for sure. And that's key, I think. Keep the amount fixed, AND have something in the bank as regular savings.

Trust me, you want to be happy and comfortable, with a regular heartbeat for when you CAN enjoy the next peak.
4490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: F1 Formula Sports Racing - Sportsbet.io promotions & discussion thread on: May 30, 2022, 12:38:45 PM
The Americans, owner of the F1, they already said:
Or Monaco will change or it will be removed from the circus.

They don't care about the history they care about the money and they will make more with tracks in the USA.

But this seems like a completely illogical requirement. It's not very interesting to watch a race where the cars go like on rails and the whole struggle for position takes place on pit stops. It seems to me that some changes in the configuration of the track should be invented so that at least a couple of sections appear on which open battle is possible.

Also not a favourite thing for me to see advantage gained and loss outside of open battle racing, but I suppose it's healthier for the constructor's to sprinkle in some niggly pit-stopping tracks and all that.

Sacrilege I guess, coming from someone who's not all into it, but I daresay F1 has always been at the mercy of tech and technicality.

Oh and politics and money, but hey, which sport isn't anymore?
4491  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: May 30, 2022, 11:25:13 AM
I am actually tipping on Medvedev to loose against Čilić tonight. Čilić is limited player but Medvedev on clay is not someone you have to watch for. Granted maybe he upped his game since I didn't watch him on clay this season but in previous seasons he was just terrible.

My high stake bet goes on handicap and low stake on Čilić to win 3:1.

No way he goes past Tsitsipas for sure if that is the draw. Bear in mind Rune is very dangerous on clay so Tsitsi could have problems as well.

Interesting take, and based on that I've just punted a low stake on 3:1 outright (9.4) and 3:2 (10.9), and I might come back and do the same for Tsitsi who starts really soon Wink

I think that's harsh on FAA, he took the king of clay to five sets and nearly beat him. Nadal may not be at his absolute peak, but remember he did win the AO this year, against Medvedev. And he does have a 27-3 record this year, and is leading the ATP race... so officially no-one in the world has played as well as Nadal in 2022.

I think my pre-match assessment (below) was actually pretty accurate.

Fair enough, and the bookies turned out to be right, only the odds suggested it was a foregone conclusion, I just still think this was the best time to take Nadal out (not on form but on actual current conditions post-injury), and Felix still came up short. I know class is permanent, form temporary, but injury is clear and present danger.
4492  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏁🏎️ Sportsbet.io🏁 FORMULA 1 2022 Season🏁🏎️Prediction Pool Discussion Thread on: May 30, 2022, 09:54:19 AM
Nicely done darbit and MoSala, don't think anyone saw LeClerc not get a podium finish, what a bad time to back the home boy, but no one's as pissed as himself I gather. Boring race, not so boring outcomes, definitely didn't think we'd even get a single DNF, but there we go.

Great for the neutrals though, we didn't want this season all done and dusted so soon, now did we?
4493  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀-Sportsbet.io-🚀 - Main sponsor of Southampton FC 👋👋 on: May 30, 2022, 08:37:17 AM
Damn, man LFC_Bitcoin, few words left to say that haven't already been. Just get back home, and we go again next season.

The team still have something to celebrate. 64 games from end-to-end. 6 days in between final EPL day and Champions League final was the longest the entire team had to prepare for a match, that just shows how crazy it was for us.

And now 5 more weeks before pre-season training and friendlies. We'll do it, and Sportsbet will give a nice big fat pre-season special for double/treble/quadruple. And I'll take it, of course.  Cheesy
4494  Economy / Speculation / Re: Holding my horses for now on: May 30, 2022, 08:00:37 AM
Or maybe just not play the game and DCA? I know it's a tired mantra but it hasn't stopped working for me and loads of others. Why worry? Excel at other parts of your life, get going in real life, and just DCA knowing all of this has happened before (and will happen again).

We're back above $30k (as expected on Monday), but once more failing to find much footing there. It'll be an achievement if we hold above this for a full 24 hours...
4495  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: May 30, 2022, 06:22:04 AM
Whoever it was who said Felix doesn't got what it takes: you were right. Yes, it's Nadal, it's anyone's game to lose on the king of red but really, if you can't beat a guy out of his prime and nursing injury, man, what will it take?

Anyway, if Tsitsi then makes it past Medvedev (it's gotta be him who goes through no?) looks set for another vs Djoko final, that's got to be it, right? Or is Nadal really going for his 22nd?
4496  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: May 29, 2022, 07:54:18 PM
Liverpool finally have a bit of squad depth but even when we have 5 great ones up front, it's a great system since we always play 3 of them, and giving time for one or two to refresh and/or recover. Origi's gone now, so we only have Mina as the fringe player, so it's still guaranteed playing time for all of them.
some uk journos are saying Mané could go to Bayern Munich next week? No Origi, possibly no Mané, the end of an era is nigh
I am not sure where Mane is going but it seems like he is leaving Liverpool for sure. Twitter is full of this, from several reputable sources so I am considering it as done deal.

He is in Liverpool for a long time and I guess he is not happy being in Salah shadow all the time. Really can't see any other reason to leave unless he is sick of English weather.

I had Forest on a ticket from the sidebet Trofo won (we agreed to put it on a 100x ticket) but unfortunately, Liverpool's loss last night rendered the result meaningless.

Still, pretty chuffed that Nottingham Forest went through, as I mentioned in the Championship thread, I don't know them but I do know Huddersfield and they were a horrible team to have in the EPL.

Really good to see an old legend back at the top.

Mane news is rife yeah, but he did say he would give very good news after the final... he hasn't said anything yet. I'm sure he'll stay, despite all the stuff said about him and Salah. If he leaves, though, I won't be pissed. He deserves to go where he wants, but you know what they say.

You'll never be loved as much as in Liverpool.

I know I said I was done but they've just launched another 35% rakeback and allowed dice again. I probably got really lucky last time around, was wagering a lot more than I should have just to get max Silver but I wonder if I should dive in again now for the Gold.

Could set myself up for a new sports season or set myself for even worse failure than this (football) season's already been ha.

Who here's Platinum?
4498  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's UEFA Champions League Football Preditor Pool Discussion thread on: May 29, 2022, 04:00:42 PM
I joined the second league without knowing that there was a reward (I just received the invitation without really understanding)

Thank you buwaytress, you can use the address in my profile.

Disappointing final, but at least Benzema should get the Ballon d'Or now.

Don't hesitate to ping me for the next season, I don't read the gambling section too much and I might miss it.

Haha great then now you know it is a pool worth joining. Nicely done on winning first without even being aware you were competing for cash Wink

Will send you the prize in a few hours soon as am home. And do join next season... Plenty of other pools too... Interested in Nations League and the Italian, English, Spanish leagues next season? Small fees for all of those, and Sportsbet even gives you back half the fee as a freebet so it really only is half an mBTC as an entry fee.

And yes, at least someone deserving wins Ballon. It will be a scandal otherwise!
4499  Economy / Speculation / Re: Between $24K and $27K on: May 29, 2022, 03:25:10 PM
Anyone still seriously think a "freefall" is going to be limited to 24k bottom? We are seeing lower lows on the weeklies... More sub-30k durations now than above. 24k is barely less than 20% drop.

Free fall would mean at least a third value loss once panic sets in.

Not to bear bad news. Hate to say it myself but every week we spend lurching makes the coming weeks seem more grim.
4500  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: EFL English Championship League Thread 2021/2022 on: May 29, 2022, 02:39:28 PM
Norwich is a big club in terms of fanbase, and go down Championship you will see as I wrote before too other clubs even bigger stadiums that get sold out all the time.

Speaking of big clubs, Nottingham Forest to go through tonight right? Can't say how they will fare in the top tier but I remember really well how poor Huddersfield was and would prefer them not to come back. All due respect, of course.
