Altcoin giveaways are banned. Is it an altcoin giveaway?

Nope, it's Bitcoin. Basically if your balance on 777 is empty, you could post in that thread to get it replenished.

(Not that we're trying to sound like commercials for the site mind you) Hopefully suchmoon doesn't have his hand on the "Nuke" button...  Grin

Sorry LFC_Bitcoin_ban if we are slightly derailing the thread - but it's OT as it's another giveaway thread.
4522  Other / Meta / Re: 7 Day Ban Appeal on: March 21, 2020, 02:40:04 PM
if giveaways are banned why hasn't it been?

Altcoin giveaways are banned. Is it an altcoin giveaway?

To be honest I've never looked - there's three or four threads for the 777Coin/Casino I've posted in the related SigCamp thread and I don't recall ever posting in that linked above thread (feel free to prove me wrong) - I think you get a credit at the Casino after posting your username details??  (Don't shoot the messenger)

Honestly speaking, that thread serves no purpose other than those posters fulfilling their quota. The admin doesn't replenish the balance at all, despite the opposite being mentioned on the 777 site.

Even before I signed up for a SigCamp I was surprised at the sheer number of mindless posters who participate in campaigns.  Having to scroll through the campaigns' [ANN] threads II've found is even worse as there are many many people who just don't know what [CLOSED] [CFNP] [HALTED] [SUSPENDED] means - they still try to sign up.
4523  Other / Meta / Re: 7 Day Ban Appeal on: March 21, 2020, 02:29:28 PM
...

I would have thought banning the convenor of the competition or as you suggest deleting the thread would have been a more appropriate course of action - am sorry the mods have been so draconian with you.  (they can be a very targeted group when they want to be)

...

Most giveaway threads are no longer allowed in the Alternate cryptocurrencies sections.......Similar threads are already restricted to Games and Rounds in the non-altcoin sections.....

The thread was in Games & Rounds.

It wasn’t in the Alt Sub.

Which leads me into this question:

This thread: █ ★☆★777Coin★☆★ █ ✔ Full Range of Games ✔ Instant Withdraw ✔ Free mBTC! seems to have been giving away funds for the last six years - if giveaways are banned why hasn't it been?  (and yes, I may be bighting the hand that feeds me, but if one is out, then all are out, otherwise LFC_Bitcoin and co should NOT have been banned!)
4524  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: March 21, 2020, 02:16:31 PM
What is the current situation with this exchange at the moment? What I read last, everyone who wants to get his active back has to go through the identification process, is that right? and where can you do that? I haven't received any information from exchange so far

The administrators of Cryptopia have been very selective in who they contact while they sort through the mess created by the Cryptopia owners by trading while insolvent.  Basically, they want users to prove their identity before they will hand over funds.  When that happens and how much of a refund is anyone's guess.
4525  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Horseracing & Greyhounds covid19 shutdown on: March 21, 2020, 02:12:34 PM
I heard on the radio a little earlier today that the Cloncurry races were held yesterday without attending crowds due to the COVID-19 500 person's outside rule that has been implemented here in Australia.  The Cloncurry races attract a large crowd and signals the start of the Outback racing season.  So, it looks like Australian Horse racing is still on but without attending punters.

...that you yourself identify as insecure is embarrassing in itself...

Did I?

Did I say that???  Wrong again.

You should pay closer attention to who you send PM's to.  Very interesting one you sent me instead of OGnasty ...  Roll Eyes
4527  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Yobit cancelled my zcash zec deposit . please help 🤦‍♂️ on: March 21, 2020, 04:13:00 AM
I'm baffled why you would start a thread here given Yobit's signature campaign was stopped dead and the posters have been slapped with a long stretch of being unable to display signatures.  Most if not all users *should* know that YoBit are completely unreliable.  If you have *any* funds left on that exchange you'd be safer to remove them as quickly as possible.

You have posted a GIF image that is exactly right for this event. Smiley

True, but what's the brown sludge that starts pouring out the bottle when the tub-o-lard tips the bottle over his head?  Can't have been any good if it's been mixed with the chlorine in the swimming pool...  Roll Eyes
4529  Economy / Lending / Re: Anyone giving stablecoin loan? on: March 21, 2020, 02:43:27 AM
I am looking for $50 stablecoin loan if possible. I have looked here but have not seen anyone giving loan in stablecoin. So, if anyone is interested to give loan in stablecoin, let me know. I can give BTC collateral if you are a reputed lender here. Otherwise no deal because escrow for $50 is not worthy.

Interest rate will be discussed later.
Loan duration- 1 month maximum.
Reason- For an experiment in our country.

Sounds a little shaky that you are trying to steer away from escrows.  There are some escrows that offer free services - not sure if stablecoin is in their er, stable of coins they transact with, however, it may prompt them to look at the coin.  (Then again the escrow would be holding onto the Bitcoin, not the stablecoin, so the comment is moot)...

4530  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Poll] Vote for favourite Cryptos used on Gambling Sites. on: March 21, 2020, 02:31:36 AM
Just vanilla Bitcoin and DOGE - plus for my third vote in the "other" my inclusions are SexCoin SXC and GameCoin GME - both of which were used for dice games in the past, but the sites weren't mainstream and I don't think they exist any-more.

P.S. Suggested thread name change above.
4531  Other / Meta / Re: Current stance towards automatic service bumping bots? - Yes please! on: March 21, 2020, 02:22:09 AM
I'll definitely try to look for ways to make the bumping not so cluttering. Perhaps something like bumping one topic at a time with a couple of hours in between.

Sorry to necro bump this post, but the other bumping service threads that I could find were started/died in 2016 [A], [B], [C], so this one is the freshest.

I have a thread: "Broadcast Your RAW Transaction" it's on at least one persons' list.  The last post was 06 April 2019, 13:49:10 and my last last occasional bump was 28 December 2019, 05:46:15 (essentially three months ago).  Some of the conversation in this thread has centred on if a thread peters out, then the information is not relevant.  I disagree - I've seen some "pay me to shift your transaction on the block-chain" type threads.  I would like people to know that a core feature of bitcoin is the ability to rebroadcast your transaction (for free) and would like to bump the thread something like once per month.  Not too intrusive at all.

Other threads I've started that I would like to see bumped would be the

There may be one or two more threads, but I would only be looking for a monthly auto bump of those threads.

While I've been typing this post, I see tranthidung has bumped a few of his useful threads:

so I'm guessing I wouldn't be the only one who would appreciate an automated bumping service on our useful, but inactive threads.
4532  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns [Last update: 16-Mar-2020] on: March 21, 2020, 01:16:05 AM
Currently the thread reads CFNP. But I guess new slots have opened as some of the participants left for Roobet.
Yes, the manager just announced about 9-slots to be filled.
There are 9 slots open for full-Legendary members.

OWNR requires users to make seven posts in the Alternate cryptocurrencies section - most others require posts in the Games/Games discussion sections.  I'm not participating in that campaign, nore am I the CM, so I wouldn't expect Mitchell to make notations about that point.  Another thread that popped up recently requires users to start and maintain threads each and every week - not sure how that one went.
4533  Other / Meta / Re: [BitCoinTalk][COVID-19] Grim Reality on: March 21, 2020, 12:55:53 AM
Until now to get bitcoin or crypto I think we still need paper money and we still have other problems because not all countries legalize bitcoin and other crypto are used as legal currencies.

Especially if the power goes off even for a few hours.

Yeah a cc stuck into a machine is safe for the teller.

Just remember to clean your hands after pressing keys on the cc machine

Contactless ATM transactions are happening here and now (tap and go is one name used) but no power, no bitcoin. (True paper wallets etc, but we just talked about NOT using paper/polymer money, so paper bitcoin wallets is out)
4534  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: LEGO Bitcoin Wallets on: March 21, 2020, 12:49:53 AM
I think you can pitch this to coffee shops, book shops, or toy shops even as a talking point.  I wouldn't suggest you use this as a privkey storage Lego Wallet Vs Paper Wallet.  But you'd be left scratching your head if the wallet address changed to another wallet address - you might want to mark the base board with the relevant square in texter to ensure if the tiles/bricks are removed then you can reassemble the wallet.
4535  Economy / Reputation / Re: 50 Merit for Authentication Post on: March 21, 2020, 12:35:54 AM
I vaguely recall one of the merit fonts getting busted for doing pretty much the same thing not that long ago and the response was they are a merit source and can divvy up the merits as they wish.

A merit source was sending merits to their alt account? Which one? That's even worse than a DT including their alt account in their trust list.

Ouch! I can only assume that was a passing shot at Timelord Jr? You should always add any mobile account you use that's insecure by default into your distrust list, no questions.
[/off topic]

Both of you might want to read this before you further embarrass yourself:

Do's and Don'ts
  • It's okay to include your alt-account on your own Trust list. This means you trust the feedback you left from that account. Example:
    Quote
    hilariousandco Trusts these users' judgement:
    7. hilariousetc (Trust: +3 / =1 / -0) (1725 Merit earned) (Trust list) (BPIP)
  • Don't include your main account from your alt account(s). This could influence DT1-voting, and although that's not part of this guide, it's bad.

But I never said a merit font was giving their alt any merits - they were busted for handing out 50 merits in one go - that's what the topic of this thread is about - nutildah is trying to rewrite history.
4536  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: LEGO Bitcoin Wallets on: March 20, 2020, 05:11:18 PM
As many of you may already know, many countries have started quarantaining because of our latest virus... I've been lucky enough of being home and while doing a closet cleanup, I found my old LEGO sets. As the days are long enough, I thought it'd be funny to see if I could get a LEGO made QR code read on a scanner, so I tried it with one of my BTC addresses: 33uqr6sPXin4zbxDjQbXFtvWzcK4FB1sXp

Now, this is the original QR, and following it, the one I crafted

I've had to resize these images as they spill off of the page every which way:

abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzabcde

I just can't quite get them to align up...

Surprisingly, it worked! (I mean surprisingly, because I almost run out of small blocks and had to start improvising with triangles and stuff) You can try it too, zooming out the screen and reading it if you do not really believe my words.

Now, getting to the point, I thought this was a rather funny activity the end result, had I had all the right blocks, would have been really neat. So I've given it a thought, and I'd be willing to start a kind of service here on the forum, to people who may be interested in having a wallet QR hand made with LEGO blocks! But, since it's a rather rough idea, I'll just place it on service discussion, and then, if I see people would really be interested on it, I'd consider moving it to..... I guess collectibles?

Waiting for your feedback!!

You can actually order individual sizes of Lego from their website: https://www.lego.com/en-au/categories/individual-bricks-boxes (one of the various links)

If you had a white base and black bricks it would require less pieces overall.

I vaguely recall one of the merit fonts getting busted for doing pretty much the same thing not that long ago and the response was they are a merit source and can divvy up the merits as they wish.  I doubt blue Snow is such the newbie they are making themselves out to be - there's plenty of self scratching and back scratching between the DT1's of this forum.

If there was a seven day cooling off period between when merits were received and when they can be sent out, then that might just slow down this kind of exchange.
4538  Other / Meta / Re: [BitCoinTalk][COVID-19] Grim Reality on: March 20, 2020, 04:27:34 PM
For the past few days the government and doctors in my country issued a statement that the COVID-19 virus could be transmitted and infected through fiat money used for daily shopping., Because we do not know the money we have used has been used by people infected with the virus, if this happens every day that is infected with the COVID-19 virus will multiply doubled.

Doctor's advice, when we trade / buy with banknotes, it is necessary to wash hands, perhaps, which are held and touched by positive people attacked by a virus, quickly spread to people who hold fiat money.

The only way if this could be infected and killed by the COVID-19 virus, when in contact with fiat money automatically all people in this world must use the crypto currency in the sale / purchase transaction, in my opinion, it is to prevent increased casualties.

I actually received an email from a coffee shop chain here in Oz that said their employees will wash their hands after handling cash (as well as other time stipulated in the email), however the next day (today) said coffee shop chain's counter staff asked for credit card payment as they were reluctant to handle cash.

700,000,000-1,400,000,000 infected.

lets pretend

575,000/700,000,000

Thanks for your thoughts and estimates - I'm assuming in the first part of your post that the second set of numbers above should read 375,000/700,000,000 which would be half of the first value.
4540  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Horseracing & Greyhounds covid19 shutdown on: March 20, 2020, 05:40:49 AM
There's nothing on the Australian T.A.B.'s website to even say there should be social distancing much less postponing or cancelling Australian / New Zealand race fixtures.

The Australian Govt has introduced a 500 person's outside, or, 100 persons inside rule except for shopping centres etc. so in theory country races could keep going, but not the city meets.

A full list of suspend leagues world wide can be viewed here: http://tabinfo.com.au/lmwp/leagues/postponed-leagues.pdf Two of the three pages are football (Soccer) leagues.
