4541  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1st nation to adopt Bitcoin will become wealthiest on: February 23, 2015, 11:21:05 AM
Total amount of Bitcoin in danger of cashing out is less than 100% of total.

What about 50x leveage? provided by OKCoin etc.?

Edit: Right, they will have to close the option.  Grin
you are right.
4542  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1st nation to adopt Bitcoin will become wealthiest on: February 23, 2015, 11:19:54 AM
No nation would be stupid enough to trust their wealth in bitcoin.
The majority of bitcoins are held by unknown people with unknown intentions. What guarantees does anyone have that Satoshi or someone else won't just cash out their 1mil.+ coins? Absolutely none.
The only thing that bitcoin holders have is hope that some big holder won't start cashing out and won't push this thin little market to it's knees.
You can gamble on hope, but serious finance needs more then that.

You are right.

But, it is a better idea for a country to invest in it, like they invest in gold etc. because it has got huge potential. Once they do, Bitcoin will be more valuable and more people will start using it.

But accepting it as an official currency will get the country broke.
4543  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Is this still a profitable investment as of today (2/22/15) on: February 23, 2015, 11:17:27 AM
Hello everybody,
The subject title basically says it all. If I was to invest in a rasberry pi board along with a powered usb block erupter and about 5 or 6 2+gh/s usb's what type of income "could" I expect. I know that there is the difficulty figure to add in, along with the actual bitcoin value and possibly the electricity cost (adding taxes and fee's I'm at $0.15 per k/w). I'm not looking to make a fortune, but if there is a reasonable income that I could make then that might be worth it to me. Is there anyone who is running a similar hash rate?

Just wait, till you are sure the price goes up. Else don't.

I think it will go up soon. But I could be wrong..
4544  Economy / Speculation / Re: We are headed to $50 on: February 23, 2015, 11:15:35 AM
$50 @ when?    Shocked

2017? or 2020?    Huh

I am guessing around 2200. When we have superior technology that bitcoin.

Or it could be rare, put in a museum, with 99.999% of the coins lost. Valued at $1 million per satoshi.

is anyone still holdin on to ghs  in here, if u dont mind can u explain the logic to it.  maybe there is an angle i am not seeing.

I think the price will go more than double once the bitcoin price recovers and steadily gains in price.

Do anyone know at what price will their cloud mining service start operations?

4549  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: BTC-flow is already stopped paying on: February 23, 2015, 10:49:52 AM
Since saturday morning 8.45 UTC BTC-flow hasn't made any payment. It's Ponzi scheme is collapsed earlier than i expected.  Wink

What a surprise. For me it lasted longer than I expected, probably because some stupid guy invested 25BTC to level up.

And it the end it turned to scam, hooray!

Yeah. I get this message when I visit the site:

It was fun while it lasted. Stay tuned for a possible v4 late 2015 or early 2016.
Thank you for making WeeklyPonzi and 24HourPonzi the successes they were. I know the system wasn't always perfect, but many people profited immensely during the lifetime of the sites.

Nooooo, they are coming back to scam us again.. Sad

4554  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: How many people lost in ponzi's on: February 23, 2015, 10:37:30 AM
I see a lot of ponzi schemes, advertising themselves as ponzi's, doubling your btc investments, but not quite and leaving a lot of investors empty handed when the desired profit is reached. Why do people still buy into these, even when the schemers are playing open card? Didn't we learn enough from the pinnochio fairytale, money does not grow on trees?

You might miss the boat and the chance you do with a ponzi is very high?

I believe only a few people can earn money in a ponzi.

that is the ponzi operators Tongue
4555  Economy / Gambling / Re: FORTUNEJACK.COM | No.1 for Cryptocurrency Gambling | Provably Fair | 1 BTC BONUS on: February 23, 2015, 10:37:04 AM
Their signup bonus claim is very misleading. On their website, on the promotions page it says:

"To receive your 100% Bonus just make your first deposit– that's it! You'll be enrolled automatically!
Please note: you receive your bonus in the same currency that you deposited.

Want an example of how this works?

Let's say you buy-in with a minimum of 0.02 BTC. We'll match that at 100% (up to 1 BTC) instantly!

Welcome Bonus will be added to your account straight away.

To ensure fair gaming, you must wager at least thirty (30) times your bonus to cash out any
amount of money. If you withdraw money before reaching the minimum wagering requirements,
your bonus and winnings will become void. Bonuses should be claimed within one (1) month."

Pretty straightforward, right? You make a deposit, they match it but you can't withdraw until you
wager at least 30x whatever your bonus was. Okay, I can accept that.

So I create an account, and make my deposit but no bonus. So I emailed their support team and
this is the reply I receive:

Dear User,

You need to wager your deposit x30 times in order receive bonus, some games have different
requirements. Please read promotion rules for more details.

Regards,

Andreas,

FortuneJack Team

Hmmmmm... Not quite the same thing, is it? So I withdrew my initial deposit (less a few losses)
and will look elsewhere for a site that is clearer and more up front about their bonus system. It's
a shame - I liked FortuneJack's interface a lot and REALLY liked the Bingo game. Oh well...

Your 100% deposit bonus is credited to your account straight away, as you make your first deposit. You can see detailed information about your bonus under 'My promotions' tab. As you make your first deposit, we match 100% of the sum up to 1 BTC, however, you need to wager it x30 times in order to claim it.

Example: If you deposit 1 BTC and wagered it x3 times, you will be eligible to 0.1 BTC, you can claim it instantly by clicking 'Claim Now'.
Wagered it x6 times, you will be eligible to 0.2 BTC, and so on.
However, some games have different wagering contribution %, you can view them on Promotion's page.

The problem is you did not receive your bonus, because of the huge DDOS we took last week, we had to change a lot in the website operation scheme to prevent DDOS happening in the future, it is all fixed for now and you can continue wagering your first deposit bonus. We apologize for inconvenience caused.

Does it work for all depsits or just First deposit?

Can I withdraw the deposit and then claim the bonus?

Why?
Every 1st day of a month, the wallet would be emptied to a non-for-profit service supporting a good cause, related to Bitcoin.
like we got: Feed Some Children by Dabs (Donate Bitcoins) 4,680 meals so far!

There is no need to include a fee
4557  Economy / Services / Re: [CONTEST] Create A New Logo For Backed.io on: February 23, 2015, 09:55:56 AM

How about changing the colot of the logo or the background to make it more appalling ?

Haha sorry, please don't consider this a correction I just thought it was a funny typo Smiley - http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/appalling

Wink

I got spell check on. Honestly, got the spelling wrong when I typed it in first. Its meaning include 'horrifying'?? lol, changed it. Cheesy

I meant 'appealing' as in appealing to the eyes. Thanks for spotting it. Smiley
4558  Economy / Lending / Re: Stingleword to Flux loan of 1 BTC on: February 23, 2015, 09:50:29 AM
Yes, I wanted this publicly documented partially to help flux establish himself here, and partially to give me a place to document this appropriately. We actually are in a discussion to work together on a project in the future, so I don't anticipate this being anything beyond a one-time loan. You can see by my trust history and post history that I am not in the loan business - this is the only loan I have ever issued.

Amount lent: 1.0 BTC
Repayment due: 1.2 BTC
Due date: Sunday, March 1

Lend TXID: 836bc8a6c16a331f292d299d31771e2258d294fd3ff06f41cfa97a780d992f44

Repayment address: 1WayStGErPLgjrGpK7Ro36ZA2eeraoaMi

Please don't make me look like an idiot, flux Smiley

This post serves as the agreement between myself and stingleword for a 1 btc loan, payable pack in one week from today or before, with a .2 return
to my address 1WarPzgcNEXobpXSKmVUVozfrhG8fS2ws and to be rep-ayed to 1WaySt>>> (Stingle, please provide complete address. )

and thanks again very much

This is the weirdest loan I have seen. The amount is too high. No collateral. (I assume this. Can't be sure though). 20% interest rate? Stingleword lending newbie?

But I don't believe there is any foul play involved. I have myself lend a newbie.   Smiley
He will keep extending it. Probably when I get 80 or so,...

Edit: Looks like Stingleword answered everything ^^

4560  Economy / Lending / Re: Stuck for 0.0005 on: February 23, 2015, 09:40:35 AM
Edit: It is just 0.5 mBTC. I will send it to ya, just give me the addy. Cheesy
This is a very bad practice. People have scammed for less then 20% of that amount in the past. If you are just giving away money to random people then you are only going to attract more beggers.

Blazr only offered to give the OP the amount needed because he knows him

I don't "know" him, I remembered him from his last loan request. It's only 0.5mBTC and I think he is genuinely just stuck for a purchase, it's happened to me before a few times and is a pain. I don't like beggars but I have no problem helping out someone who's just genuinely short $0.10 or whatever it is.
If you are confident that he is genuine then go ahead (or good for you for already sending him the funds), however don't complain when you get a lot of shill accounts swarming you trying to get small amounts from you.

You seem to be a good judge of character so go ahead

lol, it is like paying tx fee for 6 transactions. Smiley
It is an insignificant amount. Just participate in one of those giveaways and you get more than that quite easily.

Of course, if people come flocking and asking for such amounts, I will just ignore them. That is all. Smiley
