4541  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Need Help with Full Node on: December 06, 2022, 07:38:21 PM
You might not need a node to interact with ethereum though, I think you can do a lot of things from a wallet.

This is sort of what I was thinking as I was reading this.

Are you sure you need a full node?  What are you doing that makes you think that you need a full node?  My understanding is that running an ETH full node requires a ton of space and is a total pain in the ass.  The beauty of smart chains though is that you can interact with the chain without needing a node.  Maybe you misunderstood your friend and he was talking about uploading a smart contract to the chain as opposed to downloading the chain?  I think more information from you would likely lead to the advice of just using smart contracts on the chain and avoiding a node.
4542  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CHANGING TERMAL PADS ON ASIC on: December 06, 2022, 07:35:30 PM
Here I am again, it has been working for more than 1 hour with the fans at 90% and the temperatures are stable at these values. The oc is automatic and changes frequencies automatically. Some asics are hotter than others, probably due to layout.

A couple of those bad boys are getting pretty hot.  If you're happy with it that's fine, but making sure that a good connection with the heatsinks is occurring might be a good idea.  I've never used thermal pads and have always been a paste (pasta?) guy.  It just seems to work better.  I'm glad you've come to the same conclusion (seemingly) and that you were able to get this running.  I would be a little concerned about a couple of those ASIC temps, but they seem to be in the minority so hopefully even if they do burn out you'll still be able to operate the miner fine.  Good luck!
4543  Economy / Speculation / Re: Generational Buying Period is On-Going on: December 06, 2022, 07:30:40 PM
I agree.  If you've been sitting on the sidelines watching this market and waiting for a time to get in, this is it.  You should be dollar cost average buying into this market and if you're lucky you might get several months or even a year to accumulate before it jumps up and starts another run.  If history repeats, you'll be well rewarded, but you do have to take the risk.  You have to buy, buy regularly, and resist the temptation to trade.  The next halving isn't so far off that we could see a ton more falling and the market has been holding up well in spite of all the calamity and miners selling.  The next bubble is only about 900 days away.  Stay alive.  Hold on.
4544  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin Price Hit $23,000 in Q1 2023? on: December 06, 2022, 07:27:38 PM
That seems like a reasonable prediction if the market does start to rally.  Much better than some of the other folks like Tim Draper calling for a $250,000 BTC next year.  I think it's likely we bounce around in the $20K-$30K range until the market can find direction and this FTX nonsense is behind us.  I haven't seen any evidence that the 4-year cycle is dead though, so personally I would stick to making outrageously high predictions for the summer of 2025.  FTX kept BTC prices low by not buying BTC for his customers and dumping their money into shitcoins.  If regulation happens to stop this sort of market attack in the next bull run, things could get wild.
4545  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stake.com Ghostnipple: Identity Theft and IP Theft on: December 06, 2022, 07:25:10 PM
I don't think you posting content on their platform and them not being willing to remove it counts as the theft of intellectual property.  I don't believe they have any responsibility to act upon your request to remove your content.  Sure, it sucks, but I imagine the reason for them doing this isn't to profit from your amazing content.  More likely they don't have the manpower to be catering to people who are worried about such things.  They have money to make, not a community to moderate.  If you are causing problems, they aren't going to tip toe around to make sure you feel like your rights are respected.  They'll just take action and move on.  The level of catering you're seeking can't be scaled at the level they're operating.
4546  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My concern of security when using casino houses. on: December 06, 2022, 07:21:45 PM
I've had friends call me late at night to pick them up after winning a lot of money at casinos.  It's a genuine concern.  People will stake out winners and jump them in parking lots to steal winnings.  Casinos especially seem to have some of the shadiest customer bases of any place I can think of.  They also stay open late at night.  If you've got a ton of cash on you and it's late at night, walking through giant parking lots probably isn't the best idea.  Where I live you can carry a gun so it isn't the worst thing to have to do, but if you're able, having a friend who can pick you up right at the exit is the way to go.
4547  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you pass stakes proof of income verfiication? on: December 06, 2022, 07:19:19 PM
I'm not sure what Stake's income verification requirements are, but I assume that most people would be able to pass them.  They aren't there to try and scare players away.  They're there to make sure the casino can still continue operating legally.  I'm sure a couple of paycheck stubs or bank account screenshots would probably do the trick, but who knows.  Nowadays some places want multiple years of tax returns and proof of residence.  As others have stated though, this is for the big boys with a lot to gamble.  I don't think they're harassing users who bet a few dollars a week for the fun of it.
4548  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much initial startup to Start Cryptocurrency Casino? on: December 06, 2022, 07:16:28 PM
There are people who crowdfund such expenses, but that's probably the worst thing you could do.  I say it's better to build using your own money, even if you have to limit bets in the beginning and have very few games.  You don't want to be the guy that borrows a ton of money to start an online casino, gets hacked, and then has people chasing you for money the rest of your life.  Be unique, offer a better experience, and grow slowly.  That's the way to succeed if you want my opinion.  Don't take a lot of risks, especially because other people's money is involved.  Just do your best and build something great without relying on others.

Dustin Poirier posted a picture of his staff infection on Twitter...  His foot looks messed up.  I'm worried he might be done fighting if he can't get it healed up well and quickly.  I'm not a doctor, but it looks like the possibility is there for him to lose his foot...  I hope he heals up because he's had one hell of a career and this latest setback may actually put him in line with Connor McGregor's return.  I don't want to see them fight again, but it's clear that Connor feels like he has some unfinished business.  Dustin having foot problems now is probably a gift to McGregor if they do line up another fight.
4550  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what is your lost from FTX collapse on: December 06, 2022, 07:11:44 PM
Luckily, I didn't have so much as an FTX account.  I always thought it was a bit strange that Sam Bank-Fraud came out of nowhere and suddenly seemed to rule the crypto market.  I had never even heard of FTX when they started buying up assets and naming stadiums.  We were supposed to believe Sam was this amazing trader who profited in the billions and always cashed out at the top.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  The guy was stealing people's money and buying shitcoins with them.  He is literally the worst thing that's happened to Bitcoin in a long time.  Want to know why we didn't hit $100K+ in the last bubble, because Sam was taking everyone's money and buying shitcoins with them while telling them they owned BTC (they didn't).  He's the devil as far as Bitcoiners are concerned.
4551  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Valve's Steam Deck as a Mining Machine? on: December 06, 2022, 10:16:51 AM
The default OS is based on Arch Linux and Valve doesn't perform any serious system lock, so i expect you just need to launch terminal and download/run needed mining software.

Which is what I hoped some of the users here already tested Cheesy But I'll try to do it myself then and test it out, I'm just curious and would like to rank them all per performance.

As long as you’re doing it for fun or educational reasons and not to try and make money. Obviously this device isn’t ideal for mining for many reasons and will probably cost you money without ever making you anything. For fun though this is a great project and I’m sure there will be people who appreciate having more mining data available with yet another new device. Good luck!
4552  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will BNB Coin Hit $300 Mark in 2023? on: December 06, 2022, 10:13:10 AM
I personally believe that FTX blowing up and learning how they inflated their token to benefit their exchange, you have to wonder if this isn’t the same thing that’s happening with BNB. Its outperformance seems a bit suspect. I actually wouldn’t blame people for shorting BNB here. I am bearish on it. I think it’s past due for a correction and think it should be trading below $200.
4553  Economy / Speculation / Re: Countertrading Jim Cramer on Bitcoin on: December 06, 2022, 10:10:13 AM
News update.

Jim Cramer told investors to sell all their cryptocurrency that they are presently holding. Everyone knows what to do if you are a follower of Inverse Cramer trading strategy hehehe.

However, has Jim Cramer been saying opposite statements of what was supposed he was to say? This is the head scratching question. It appears the followers of Inverse Cramer should begin doing an Inverse of Inverse Cramer strategy if this is true hehehehhe.

Jim Cramer urges investors to exit crypto

CNBC’s Jim Cramer on Monday told investors that they still have time to sell their cryptocurrency holdings.

“You can’t just beat yourself up and say, ‘hey, it’s too late to sell.’ The truth is, it’s never too late to sell an awful position, and that’s what you have if you own these so-called digital assets,” he said.

Yup, the Jim Cramer counter trade is in full swing. With him basically calling crypto dead, you have your signal that it’s time to go all in. I’m kidding of course, but the numbers don’t lie. Jim Cramer is an absolutely terrible market tuner who is always late to the party with the wrong take on the situation. Seeing him calling for more pain is the first positive signal I’ve seen that the market may be ready for a turnaround.
4554  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 06, 2022, 08:00:46 AM
The Mavericks seem to have the Suns number. They shut down Booker and Luka goes off whenever they play. I think the Suns better figure out how to rectify this before the postseason rolls around.

How about the double overtime game between the 76ers and Rockets that the Rockets won. I’m guessing that’s not what Sixers fans were expecting going into this game…
4555  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: December 05, 2022, 02:05:33 PM
Some mismatches on the schedule for today in the NBA. I like a parlay with the Bucks, Clippers, and 76ers all taking home wins. Probably not the greatest reward scenario, but all three of these games should be easily won. Might as well package them together since individual bets wouldn’t be worth the risk with such a small payout.
4556  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 05, 2022, 01:58:21 AM
Anthony Davis just put in the best game of the year in helping the Lakers beat the Wizards 130 to 119. Anthony Davis had 55 points and 17 rebounds on only 30 shots. LeBron had a pretty good night as well with 29 points. It was all Davis tonight though as he showed how dominant he can be. I hope he can stay healthy and keep this streak rolling.
4557  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bear market likely over? on: December 04, 2022, 08:36:45 PM
If you’re a hardcore believer of the 4-year block reward halving cycle then you would definitely be looking at this current pricing as the bottom of the bear market. The timing fits perfectly. There are still some things hanging over the market as a whole, but I think those accumulating now will likely support the market going much higher. Anyone who got in under $16K will likely be very happy in a couple years if they can hold on.
4558  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How true is an NFT pow based project? on: December 04, 2022, 08:34:49 PM
I haven’t heard of this being a thing but I do find it interesting. I actually like this more than just paying a fee to mint something. It would be cool for all the participants of the project to help mine to create value and holdings for the project by mining on the project’s behalf. Reminds me a little bit of my NastyFans project, only we don’t give NFTs to those who donate hashpower. Maybe an interesting addition that could help see more participation from members in order to receive a reward…

A lot of talk coming from Paddy’s camp about Jake Paul these days. I think a boxing match between the two may actually happen at some point in the near future. I think this is probably bad news for Paddy, except for the payday as Jake Paul is quite a bit larger and trains strictly for boxing. You never know though. Paddy certainly seems to be confident that he could beat up Jake Paul without so much as a training camp.
4560  Economy / Gambling / Re: What else should an established crypto casino add? on: December 04, 2022, 08:29:07 PM
My answer for this question is always trustless betting without deposits or the need for an account and verifiably honest games. When you can make a bet without an account or making a deposit, verify the game was honest without having to trust anyone, and get paid out immediately on the blockchain, then I will feel like crypto gambling has been done correctly. Right now there are so many different points of failure in most casinos it’s amazing they’re able to run so smoothly.
