4541  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How Do I Tell My Daughter That People Across Europe Fear Minorities Like Us? on: June 04, 2014, 07:17:10 AM

That's the stupid thing I find about racism and xenophobia, you get any of these morons to submit to a DNA test and you'll find they'll at least have 5% something that isn't what they claim they are, single cultures are dead and soon the single race will be dead as well Tongue

I'd like to do some DNA testing on both the BNP white supremacists and Muslim supremacists, I'm sure we'll all be in hysterics, the Muslims will probably find out they have some kind of Christian ancestors and then the white supremacists will have some african blood in them or something.

This is why I think racism is a fucking joke and people should never take it seriously.

This is a common misconception.

Among whites on 23andme, it is estimated that 96 or 97% of them are of pure European descent.  The remainder have an average of less than 1% non-European ancestry, meaning 1 non-white great great great great great grandparent out of 128.  The one-drop rule formed a protective barrier for whites.

Of course this is the 23andme data set, a self-selected group which skews towards the curious, nerdy, and financially secure.  The other end of the spectrum probably has a little more non-white ancestry.  I suspect that most "Cherokee" ancestry among lower class Americans is actually very distant black ancestry, but again it can't be much.

Yeah, you just proved my point, that's not a misconception at all, I was only being rough with the percentages and using it as an example but the point is no matter how 'pure' you might think you are or your ancestry is standard human pervertedness dicatates that at some point along your line one of your ancestors will have decided to go fuck a non-european just because Tongue

My family for example breeds like rabbits and we have a few interracial couples in my family as well to the point where I have four names, another reason I'm very grateful to Bitcoin because I don't always have to enter in personal information into those stupid fields that always break when I actually try to enter it in properly.

Do you actually have any evidence for this? Or are you just a jaded scammer that's decided to come back under another name to accuse people? I wouldn't be surprised if it was happening because I see shady shit going on regularly but you need real evidence before you can convince anybody here.
4543  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Basic Income campaign in Switzerland is accepting Bitcoins. on: June 03, 2014, 08:59:38 PM
How do we know this isn't a scam post and you're actually affiliated with this campaign? We've had lots of posts like this before and posters either get extremely offended when we ask for proof they vanish, or if we ask for proof they just vanish without even bothering to get offended, I hope this is the real site your posting up.

I think the idea of minimum wage and basic income is a mathematical joke, the problem that the people who support this are complaining about is to do with hyperinflation which is the cause of living cost increases and the wage gap. You can't just point guns at people who earn their money honestly, take it and expect that to fix the problem in the long run. In the short term that will give them money yes, but you'll pretty much end up bankrupting lots of businesses and then they'll just be out of work again and on top of that you'll have a whole new group of unemployed people to deal with people who support crap like 'unconditional income' need to go and look at how business owners actually live before they make such ultimatums about a group of people.

It is of course your right to campaign for it though if you really want to.

Thats strange that they have adopted bitcoin but no offocial annoucement was ever made making the annoucement might just add to their profits. I'll be buying my next computer from these!
That's exactly what I thought as well, why wouldn't you publicise it?

I#m sure they will but probably rely on word of mouth. Companies like this dont have much advertising budget probably.

It doesn't cost any extra money just to add a "We accept Bitcoin!" image on your website and I'm speaking from personal experience too, the only thing I can think of it's like scan.co.uk where they simply forgot about the Bitcoin images on the other areas of their websites.
4545  Other / Off-topic / Re: What video games do you play? on: June 03, 2014, 07:53:26 PM
Anybody tried the new Watch Dogs? It looks like a pretty fun game.

I played it a little confusing to start of with and takes a badass computer to run it. but seems like a good game at the moment and im not sure if it is living up to its hype at the moment.

It really does, it won't run unless you've got a medium to high end PC, I got BSOD when I tried to run it with my old crappy duo core, makes me really hate my PC now Tongue it was good 5 years ago or so but now it's time for a real upgrade for sure.

problem with gaming these days I have a old compputer which can just about run it but i do suffer frame drops quite frequently. the problem with gaming it takes a ever changing computer to be able to run the new games and the price for those computers wil continue to rise. for a top end computer quad core 4.3gh I'm looking at £800+.

That's the same situation I'm in but I haven't honestly had to upgrade for years until now, the games are just getting too big for old computers and Watch Dogs is a classic example, I can still game on CSS fine but I'm starting to get tired of that game now even though it is good Tongue

On the small games where you fight in low polygon buildings and stuff I run great but as you've said when it comes to the big sandbox games which are always the most fun my PC gets tortured, make sure to build your own one, if you've got £800 you should be able to build a really good one for that much money.

Yep, pretty much.

Honestly, I know Americans won't like this but I think one of America's basic problems is total apathy and incompetence mixed into one ridiculous bundle that makes them look incredibly stupid to the rest of the world, so long as their own little bubble isn't interfered with they're perfectly content to let the rest of the land destroy itself.

I've heard of overclockers! Yey! More UK retailers! That's great news for me if I ever get the money to build a new PC! Tongue

There is a weird trend with these kind companies though where they don't seem too keen on actually showing whether they do or not, either that or they just can't really be bothered updating the payments pics etc.
4550  Other / Off-topic / Re: PC Gaming Thread on: June 03, 2014, 03:39:39 PM
I seriously can't understand the people who defend online games that make you pay for cheats in order to play on even terms.
4551  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014 - 05 - 21] HARVARD ECONOMICS PROFESSOR MAKES THE CASE FOR BITCOIN on: June 03, 2014, 08:30:47 AM
Because in any legitimate debate where they are made to answer difficult questions about Bitcoin the anti-Bitcoiners would lose badly and they don't want that to happen, it's like how mainstream politicians don't get into debates with the 'crazy' minor parties because they know they'd lose. It's much easier to trash talk and insult an enemy from a high up tower where they can't reach you than actually go out and fight them one on one which is essentially what these people have done, they've created a system where it's impossible for anyone but their allies and friends to talk to them.

What rank are you in league?

In league I am bronze 5, started out in bronze 2. I am still learning the game. I just started in February.

You do know bronze 5 is the lowest, right? And bronze 2 is higher...

Just letting you know, you literally are getting progressively worse at league.

People like you are precisely what makes multiplayer games so unpleasant sometimes.
4554  Other / Politics & Society / Re: No news on CNN about air bombing on Lugansk. on: June 02, 2014, 05:02:06 PM
this is a reflection of the american people.. no one is interested in this kind of stuff. instead, CNN airs what we are really interested. did aliens hijack the malaysia airlins plane? where is lindsay lohan now?

It's all manufactured, the media tells everyone what to believe and what to think to distract them from real issues.

You like to talk all kinds of shit don't you? You keep claiming I'm using full stops wrong and yet you're using them constantly and you keep making a paragraph per line, when they're supposed to be used for a new subject to seperate out your writing. Anyone with a brain looking at my writing will know it's correct and the only reason it looks long is because the width of forum posts is wider than what is normal for a word document or for websites where you have control over that sort of thing and it's a common thing for forum software. You want to talk about irony? I could keep on correcting you if you like or you can quit trying to internet stalk me like you have an obsession because you always try and look for something to attack me on in threads which is pretty funny, it seems being a hero member here means you always get your own personal stalker.

If you're going to offer such services people are going to critique you and point out your errors. You regularly call out people's poor grammar on here yet make such mistakes yourself.

And you don't need to use exclamation points to end every sentence:

"Elmore Leonard wrote of exclamation marks: "You are allowed no more than two or three per 100,000 words of prose." Which means, on average, an exclamation mark every book and a half. In the ninth book of Terry Pratchett's Discworld series, Eric, one of the characters insists that "Multiple exclamation marks are a sure sign of a diseased mind." In Maskerade, the 18th in the series, another character remarks: "And all those exclamation marks, you notice? Five? A sure sign of someone who wears his underpants on his head."

Haha. Brilliant. Are you genuinely being serious there? You haven't fixed it at all. You just colossally broke it by fusing my sentences together to form one big fuck-off paragraph.

I think somebody else recently called you out on your run-on sentences as well. You might want to look into them because you often make these mistakes.

Let me know if you ever need someone to proofread your posts or proofread your proofreading. Wink

Bullshit, by voting for these people you are not only conforming to their system and their rules you are reinforcing political corruption and encouraging them to carry on as they are, here in the UK the main parties are absolutely terrified because of the mass low turnout and the fact that people are switching over to the minor parties, we had something like a 35% - 38% turnout in the local elections just recently and they are running around desperately trying to figure out how to get our votes and there is even a public debate and discussion going on about it.

Conformism is for cowards who aren't prepared to fight for real change, not taking part in a system is making a statement about that system itself because it requires people participating to exist.

Proud to say that the only presidential candidate I ever voted for was Gary Johnson Smiley

Voting for the Libertarian Party candidates is a waste. They hardly ever get more than 2% of the vote (Gary Johnson received just 0.99% of the vote). They only helps the Democrats, by eating away the GOP vote.

Fuck you, I would love to vote for the Libertarian party in my country but they don't even show up in a lot of the polling stations!
