It will be d)... but you forgot that to mark in the image...

Price will drop to 20$ - 40$.

That would be cool. Excellent buying opportunity. And back again to a reasonable and sustainable growth trend.

Sam Cole,

Originally from UK Western-Super-Mare

Looks like you possibly moved to Sweden in 2003 from the land registry info

samcole@hotmail.co.uk

This is the email address his facebook account is registered with so that is good. Hotmail.co.uk emails are not available anymore since a few years so it wasn't set up in the last 5 mins which is also a good sign.

Sam likes BFL though - This is the only back mark to his name so far  Cry  Grin

Well, this look scammy indeed. Our "Sam Cole" is obviously not from UK, just check his english.

4583  Economy / Speculation / Re: Something people don't seem to understand on: April 11, 2013, 09:52:29 AM
Does that mean more freefall soon?

Nope, just a few minor rebounds and a long slow slide.

I'm not sure, a large collapse isn't impossible. In fact it would be better for bitcoin to have a quick large collapse hopefully leading to a faster recovery rather than wasting a year in a long bear.

But I'd agree it will likely be a prolonged bear market.

I don't foresee a prolonged bear market. I guess there are quite a few earlier adopters with well above +5.000BTC each that will immediately cash out a significant part of their stash as soon as a continued downtrend pattern looks likely. Just to secure some profit because hey, everybody can enjoy a few hundred thousands dollars.

This means quick decline. We need that. We need cheap coins and a sustainable growth rate Cheesy
4584  Economy / Speculation / Re: I see one of three possibilities for the next few days on: April 11, 2013, 09:49:28 AM
Further update: 180 support broken, which means 100 is the next one. My guess is rangebound trading from between 100-180 at least for the next few days until we establish a new trendline

I remember this game in 2011.

"No way it's going back under $20"

"Ok, no, not going under $13"

"Ok, it might bounce of $10, then continue upward to new highs"

"If the price breaks through $8, then we should see incredibly strong support at $5"

"No, okay, hmmm, $3..."

And the price went just a hair under $2.

And the modest believer who invested 10K dollars at $2 made +$1.000.000 in just one year and a half.

Yeah, this is definitely a bear market, no doubts about it.
4585  Economy / Speculation / Re: I'm not ashamed to admit... on: April 11, 2013, 09:45:39 AM
I got hit with a 10% loss yesterday...

I have my personal rules on when to get in and when to get out and for a 20% drop is a selling threshold.
I would have sold at $215, but my exchange was down for the entire ride ($260 - $110).

I don't think there was anything I could have done differently besides not buying above $200 (I also bought a couple at prices $70-80-150), knowing a correction was coming sooner then later. I was a blind bull...

All in all I don't think this is over yet! The triangle that has formed now will soon break and it will continue the downwards trend to about $100.

I will join the support at $100 as I think we should not be going back to double digits at this point.

Best of luck and congrats to those that could sell at a descent price yesterday!

That's fine, the majority of people here took a hit but would never admit it because they fear tarnishing their username!

What will trigger your buy at $100?

I would say that the majority of people in here bought well below $50 so no hit taken. Don't forget that just a couple of months back we were below $20, and a LOT of bitcoiners are in this for the long haul.

More than taking a hit, I would bet that the majority of speculation subforum posters have profited for the swing back, buying back lower than they sold, increasing their BTC holding while taking some fiat profits.
4586  Economy / Speculation / Re: MtGox Down ? on: April 11, 2013, 09:36:38 AM
When I close my positions at euros I will take all my bitcoins back to another exchange. That's for sure.

The trouble is that all other international exchanges pretty much mirror the mtgox prices.

Well, but at least they allow you to cancel your orders.  Grin Yesterday I had to be pressing cancel to see that nothing happens.  Roll Eyes

how many times did you press it?

Dozens, in different webbrowsers xD

And here you have your "evil DDoS". People freaking out and pushing "cancel" 300 times per minute.
4587  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: !!Testing interest!! in selling my Batch 2 Avalon Preorder... on: April 11, 2013, 09:35:12 AM
Really don't get the reason why of "PM only". What's the point? Being able to manipulate the price at your will and capitalize greed?
4588  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Selling my two Avalon ASIC Units from Batch #2 on: April 11, 2013, 09:34:01 AM
Avalon does not modify shipping addresses.

This. They forbid any change in address, especially when the reason is re-sell. They want to avoid that. Please read their FAQ.
4589  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: We ,btc avalon buyers, could losing the game. on: April 11, 2013, 09:09:06 AM
Your ROI is all wrong.  You are wanting to get BTC for BTC.  You said that right now you get 4.2BTC/day and it would take you 20 days to get that back.  Your looking to get back 80BTC that equates to at todays rate of $230/btc or $18,400 when you paid 80BTC at $16 you paid $1,280.

BTC is worth what it will buy and a 1 BTC today will buy a lot more than 1 BTC from 6 months ago.  So you can't use BTC for BTC as your ROI.  If the price of BTC stayed relatively the same then you could.  So you have to use something else to determine your ROI say USD which does not fluctuate as much.

If you not happy with that ROI I would be more than happy to take the unit off your hands Smiley

It doesnt make sense to take the exchange price into account. Simply because the following.
You invest 100BTC into an avalon. A BTC is worth $10 at that time. That makes the machine $1000. You earn 5BTC with that machine while the exchange price is $200. And you already have your investment back. But that isnt correct. Because you invested BTC. If you would have kept the BTC and didnt buy the Asic then you would now have $20000. So a miner has always to beat the buyingprice you paid in BTC. Otherwise you lose. Or you would have been better to keep your bitcoins and see the exchange price and the worth rise.

The same applies to Asicminer shares. If you got your initial investment IN BTC back youre fine. Otherwise you would have been better to keep the BTC.

Everything that is beyond the buyingprice is additional and can be calculated in whatever you like. But an investment in BTC has to come back in BTC.

This is what I'm trying to explain post after post in different threads. Is incredible how people keep saying "hey, you will get your ROI faster because BTC/USD is skyrocketing", and then they do their math in USD... When speaking about an Avalon #3 which has been bought with BTC.

Guys: you spend BTC, your ROI is in BTC. Otherwise, as Sebastian says, you would just have been better HOLDING those BTC.

Pure logic.
4590  Economy / Speculation / Re: From Bull to Bear. Sold it all. on: April 11, 2013, 07:21:09 AM
Looks like I was right. $157 and falling fast.

On the bright side, this will be good for the market. People will once again use coins as a currency.

Yeah, you were right in giving your coins t stronger hands.

Let's see in 2 years from now... Oh, and we're at $190 now. Hoping it's a bull trap to get even cheaper coins.

Don't forget that  2 months ago we were at $20
4591  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Avalon Asic] trade-in Thread on: April 11, 2013, 07:16:21 AM
Some of us did not sell our boards when we could only because the offer to upgrade Icarus boards was on the table.

I always thought I could upgrade my 5 Icarus boards to 5 Avalons.

But I guess we'll have to wait and see if they keep their promise.

There's more: I thought I'd be able to buy an Avalon at a discount price vs batch1 or batch2 prices. If the "discounts" are still the amounts published in $ but the discount is applied to the batch3 price, most of us probably can't afford it anymore.

Hmm, yeah that's the crucial question. Will they honor the Batch 1 or Batch 2 price for trade in clients. I don't know if it makes economic sense for them to honor the price now. Also batch3 customers would bitch and moan about how unfair it is that trade-in customers get such a huge discount. But what batch 3 customers must  realize is that batch 1 and 2 customers paid a LOT more in BTC terms than they did.

If they honored batch 1 or batch 2 prices I can tell you for sure that I'd be more than willing to pay that price Smiley

Well, you are right thinking in BTC terms, as this is a machine that generales BTC. I would imagine them pricing next batches around 40 to 65 BTC (just a guess), but I cannot imagine them charging only 7 to 10 BTC, which would be the equivalent of the USD price of batch 1 and 2.

At that price units would sold out in 1 minute.
4592  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 11, 2013, 06:59:58 AM
Mr. Cole, a few pages ago you said:

A better option for us might be to pay the cost of 5 flights and 5 hotels, to 5 forum members and bring you all over to Stockholm Sweden. Have a look at our devices. You can then pay in person for the device which you would be able to take home with you.

I offered myself to do check personally. You should already have a working prototype if you're about to open the preorders on your web.

So - when would you like to invite at least 5 Hero Members of these forums to check your hardware? Everything else is just useless chatter.
4593  Economy / Speculation / Re: Pop! on: April 10, 2013, 07:52:54 PM
Come on guys, sell a little bit more Smiley

I never thought I could've bought again BTC under $40... Please bears make that happen

Gotta love weak hands, come on guys... Panic!!!

4594  Economy / Speculation / Re: From Bull to Bear. Sold it all. on: April 10, 2013, 05:20:11 PM
Great buying opportunity ahead. It would be cool to see it at $150... And.... When we were at $150, like... one week ago? Cheesy

4595  Economy / Speculation / Re: Pop! on: April 10, 2013, 05:14:52 PM
When it does "pop", you can't stop Cheesy

Glad that I resisted the temptation to immediately buy and left my $$$ hanging around at Gox, nice buying opportunity around the corner Wink
4596  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: instawallet has fallen new owner stealing on: April 10, 2013, 03:23:13 PM
does anyone knowwhat I can do if my wallet will steal someone ?  it is legal or not ?

Sincerely not being an ass here, but would you be so kind as to reword your request so that I or some other can answer your questions.

Thanks, bud. (sincerely)

~Bruno K~

I was going to rage at him, but I thought that I should let somebody else do it, because I'm not that good at insulting people politely Tongue
But yes. I don't believe that your wallet will steal anyone anytime soon Smiley

Come on guys, don't be harsh with us non english natives.

For injust: no, it's not legal for someone to steal your BTC. Anyhow you will have a hard time demonstrating to a judge that a certain Instawallet was YOURS (well, you just have an URL...)

And then, I bet that for 99% of the judges Bitcoin is still "play money".
4597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 10, 2013, 06:45:50 AM
Hashing demonstrations could be faked since all you really had to do was get hold of a few Avalons and hide them somewhere ;P

Id happily preorder if I could come pay for it in person on pickup (hey it's like 2h by train :p) or pay for it at delivery, if you expect deposits for preorders then you will have to provide some impressive proof that your product is real.

I'm hoping you are real, even wishing it! Can't say I'm looking forward paying import tax for my BFL/Avalon orders and having an ASIC company so close to home would be awesome.

What I can say is that we will never be able to convince 100% of the people. We understand that.

If I ship 5 units to 5 forum members and they all say it works. I still don’t believe 100% of the previously burnt users would trust any (personally to them) anonymous forum member.
But sure it might increase our trust and we are looking into it.

A better option for us might be to pay the cost of 5 flights and 5 hotels, to 5 forum members and bring you all over to Stockholm Sweden. Have a look at our devices. You can then pay in person for the device which you would be able to take home with you.

If that’s what we have to pay and that results in 1000 More sales. It is a business case and a PR exercise I will be willing to look more into.

I can say today that we will make public all of the evidence we think is both fair and reasonable. Mass shipment is the best evidence I can think of. That will mean hundreds of people with evidence of working boxes.
I whole heartedly agree that everyone should wait until they are comfortable of buying from an international seller. I say this to everyone. Do not order until you have seen the evidence that makes you content. If waiting until we have items in stock and out in the market is what makes you content. Then register on our site for the 500+ list and simply don’t complete your preorder until you are happy.

Sam

You can count only me for going to Stockholm to verify you have a working unit - deal done? Please confirm publicly.

Also listen to ckolivas.

SCAM
4599  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 09, 2013, 08:41:38 AM
NOOB ALERT: Do not send ANY money to any ASIC company at least until they can give a definitive proof on the fact that they have a working Bitcoin ASIC.

Until today (9th April 2013) only AVALON has proved they have the machines, shipping aprox. 300 of them to final customers. All the other players that appeared on the market have failed as per today, or they were just a plain SCAM from the beginning.

You have been warned.
4600  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Was it a mistake to purchase Avalon batch #3? on: April 09, 2013, 08:31:17 AM
If you bid more than 50btc, sure!
Wow, are you bipolar?   Am I talking with the half that said, "I will have to shut it down in the summer because the exponential increase in difficulty" or the half that now feels that the shutdown machine in July is worth 50BTC?   If you truly believe the machine is worthless to you in the summer and needs to be shutdown, ask a reasonable price and I will agree to it.   USD or BTC.   We can find some way to come to agreement so that whichever one of us is wrong, will not welch on the physical exchange after the holiday weekend.
July != During the summer. Summer ends 3 months after July. I'm sure you know that.
If you want to we can bet on the difficulty at the end of the summer, maybe on bitbet or such websites, i'm not interested into giving away my avalon for a price determined 6 months in advance. Also, i would like to remember you, the OP asked to describe a worst case scenarion, that is 300TH at the time of delivery with an exponential rise. This is not what i expect, it's what i'm preparing for. Expect the worse, hope for the best, one of my best mottos.

And still, you would be one of the very first 1,500 lucky persons that owns a piece of History of BTC: one machine of the first generation of the first BTC ASICs ever produced.

Cedivad: not that bad, right?
I can assure you that when i placed my order it was more because of i wanted to decentralize the network going solo (it doesn't matter if you do a block each month) and because of the feelings i had thinking about ordering that hardware, just like the nerd i'm. God, have you looked at that pictures? They are orgasmic! However, given the repeated failure of the alternatives and the huge price spike, this has now become my major btc investment and i'm trying to do the possible to have it back in the best form possible. After all, it's a lot of money.

I understand. But BTC price is still so volatile that it will take a while for the very big players to invest significantly in producing their own mining hardware. Sure, we will have more ASICminer like projects, but no way we are seeing companies of the likes of AMD stepping in, as some are suggesting, in the very next few months. It will take a bit longer. We will see a huge spike in difficulty, but it will be slower than you predict, ergo your batch #2 and #3 avalons will ROI and still give you a profit. We can bet on that Wink
