461  Economy / Goods / Re: 3d printed bitcoin address card prototype on: April 26, 2013, 08:27:43 PM

It costs < 0.05 $ in materials to make something this big

Yes it needs refining. I didn't put alot of time into it, was just curious to see what people thought if I posted something like this, thanks for some of your constructive input.

I just thought it might be cool to have something in my pocket with an address on it.
Just a way I could give someone an address to send payments for example? Plastic is waterproof and more durable than paper ?
I was just curious to see how the text would turn out.

Was just thinking what could be made...
It could be possible to make your own physical "coins" or other physical "objects" with bitcoins embedded inside them.
By inserting the keys into a cavity in the middle of construction, sealing it inside a physical object.
When you want to get access to it, you have to break it open to get into it.

People are different, and not everyone wants a "regular business card" b!z.
462  Economy / Goods / 3d printed bitcoin address card prototype on: April 24, 2013, 08:45:29 AM

This is a sample I made recently which I thought turned out pretty ok.
There are some imperfections, with a few more iterations I should be able to get them pretty clean.

This one right now is the same size of a cc.

Was wondering what you guys think? Any suggestions or feedback is welcomed.

Sorry I never got around to testing out the skill game yet, I saw way before you had posted for a 2v2 match, I don't have any partner to play with who is into btc, and ive been pretty busy lately organizing school stuff and moving far far away, so at some point ill try to try it out

Did you complete that 2v2 match ? or ended cancelling it ?
Has a skill game been completed yet ? or only the foresight bets

I won't be in the Netherlands until the 11th though when I move into my housing

468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How I would EMBRACE Bitcoin if I was a goverment on: August 01, 2011, 04:44:09 PM
I think the way your thinking about the taxes with SIN being replaced by a bitcoin address but,

you could easily bypass taxes by simply creating a new wallet, with a new "SIN" number along side the one given to the gov.

Work a job making low income, linked to your legit ''SIN", while putting non-taxable income into a different wallet and paying ''incorrect'' taxes..

seems to me like it'd be pretty easy to bypass that sort of taxation system
469  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: GnuPG versus TrueCrypt on: August 01, 2011, 04:37:54 PM
I use gnupg for my wallet but I also have a trucrypt volume where I store some other materials

I use this to automate the process just prompting for password when opening and then upon closing bitcoin to encrypt it again

seahorse-tool -d ~/.bitcoin/wallet.dat.pgp && /bitcoin-0.3.23/bin/32/bitcoin && rm ~/.bitcoin/wallet.dat.pgp && seahorse-tool -e ~/.bitcoin/wallet.dat && rm ~/.bitcoin/wallet.dat

how do you organize times to play matches ? is there a way to arrange matches based on skill level ?

It's probably not very fair if you match up someone in gold vs diamond for instance..

can you explain how those non-pro match up bets work ?

I'm interested in playing some games

I deposited 0.925 BTC on the 18th. Today, a week later, I've made back half of that (0.458 BTC) just from random sponsorships.

That's quite good..

I've deposited ~ 1.1 and gotten back 0.02 so far

But I was thrilled to get 0,02 that day~ ^^

I'm patient

Ah true, thanks for pointing that out..

I think I will hang out to my 1 cc since I travel frequently and it can come in handy for emerg situations buying train ticket last minute etc...

I'm in the process of making a major overall in all my finance arrangements so I'll take the paypal thing into consideration, just thought i'd get some ideas here

Sure lulzsec will be used as reasons for censorship by governments/corporations. But I think lulzsec was a response to governments trying to crack down on net neutrality, not the other way around.

Without them, these pro-censorhip persons would still be using CP, media pirating, etc as reasons to crack down on the internet regardless if lulzsec existed. Anything opposing them will be used as more reasons to try to brainwash others why 'censorship' of the internet is necessary.

Bitcoin seems to have birthed along with wikileaks lulzsec etc, as unique solutions/developments to push towards a neutral net and free world
