It woudl only be a bubble if the fundamentals of the coin did not backup its price. If there literally is a huge adoption with may new people interested and more commerce taking place than it isnt a bubble.

lol I once bought at ~17$, tried to sell like at 18$ when it was crashing but my order got filled at 15.8$ Everybody has bad luck at some times, the guys who lose are the one that panic buy/sell whenever they change their minds like sheep. a good way to avoid that is to put a sell order in at a custom price. For example: say current price was $17.80 and you wanted to sell at $18.10.. just put in the order at $18.10, and whenever someone is willing to buy at that price (or essentially you are the cheapest seller), the order will be filled and you will get the price you want. ...downside of that is that if somebody did that today at $40.. its now up to $43.50 and they'd of lost out of about 8% of gains in a matter of hours

Hello guys . Im noobie here and first Im sorry if my words make any of you guys any sadness or angry about my offering . I have a solution to run Hd7970 scrypt mining ( LTC , NVC ) @71x khash or 64x khash with latest CGMINER - depend on your GPU and your cooling Benefits from it are : Easy to manager ( pools mining fail over or switching, easy to change GPUs settings with Cgminer ,etc ) no need for nearly 1.5 GB System RAM with one HD7970 to archive optimal speed with Reaper ,less electric cost due to not use much system Ram and depend on how high your HD7970s GPU ASIC quality and Whether it can Ajust voltage or not, we can lower its GPU and RAM voltage to have the best electric cost / performance speed ,you dont need to buy RAM to run with my solution on CGMINER , 4-5 Hd7970s run well on Win7x64 with 2Gb system RAM I offer to do it for you guys VIA Teamview .PM me VIA Yahoo Messenger ID if you are interesting : haidzamThanks alot for reading my post and forgive me if I said or offer anything wrong .Thanks Kolivas for his awesome scrypt mining support on CGMINER . Sorry to bother you but BQC is also scrypt, just making sure that you count the market segment properly. As a sidenote I would also vote for publishing those performance increasing tweaks, instead of remote access configuring peoples computers. heck.. if you want to make sure you get your full value out of the work you did.. just offer up a bounty.. when its reached, publically release.

"No", because it's a bitcoin forum. Alt-chains are only guests here.
PErsonally I'd say this is a bitcoin and bitcoin spinoff forum. Bitcoin/litecoin/whatever are for most parts and purposes the same, at least for now. THE SAME PEOPLE use the different coins, which is the biggest reason I think there should be sub-forums.

Im looking to spend $300 max on a new card, but Im planning to buy used. I was thinking a used 5970 (around $250), but should I get something else?
Dont want to spend much over $300, under preferably.
There are lots of 7950s for ~$290, the best is the gigabyte triple fan one. The 7950s will have a higher resale value and you get a 2-3 year warranty with them. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125414I have 3x of these.. wonderful cards. 600 mhash in BTC and 650 khash in LTC. Those numbers require a bit of overclocking.. and you need to have GOOD cooling in your room or computer or they will get a bit toasty.

umm.. the price of litecoins has remained pretty constant at around 6-7 cents USD each..
its BTC that has catapulted up in value, while LTC has stayed put

Yes I noticed this too. My guess is that it is every dormant sock puppet account getting activated plus I've now seen ads for people trying to buy up old forum accounts so they can get the free xrp. I think it may be time for a new/different giveaway.
considering if the 50k xrp = .5-1 BTC.. thats $17-34 PER ACCOUNT. That adds up fast if you can get access to 50 accounts.

Isn't that like more than 2 BTC? who would do such a deal?
1/0.00241 = 414 LTC to the BTC

I can just imagine it: - Install teamview
- Let this guy log in and download his "special" executables and install them
- Executables actually contain backdoor that also gets installed
- LTC keeps disappearing somehow..
ya its one thing if he would sell you the settings for 0.5BTC, but wanting to get on your pc and do it.. ya... sketchy

Remember kids: TacoTime has his cards in the damn arctic. When I run LTC mining at 1050/1.08V my VRM's run in the 90's... (core 70's)... THat said.. 640 khash each isn't to tough to get on a 7950.. just be careful so ya dont eff up your cards

is it possible to mine this pool with stratum for those of us with 79xx cards that can't really use cgminer? I'd love to move my gpu's here but with 4+% stale its not feasible.

considering the development skill sets are COMPLETELY different (as in a programmer isn't typically a good business negotiator/strategist).. I wouldnt imagine TO much overlap.

Eustratum down for maintenance ? Seems dead since this morning.
no scheduled maintainence yep its down again I'll be looking for a new eu host, performance of this node hasn't been up to scratch moved the eu dns to stratum.ozco.in server until we can resolve eustratum's issues is that why pool hashrate suddenly went down to 1.5 t/hash?

In hardware, and to a lesser extent software, yes the first mover rarely have the last laugh. But on the web, it's a different story, first mover has significant advantage. Case in point->Youtube, I can't see how another video site can topple youtube's dominance. or Google the first site to build a good search engine in 2003, is still the dominant search engine 10 years later. or Facebook, first real name SNS from 2004, still the dominant real name SNS 9 years later.
When having these discussions, people usually bring up Facebook on the other side of the argument, as the supplanter of MySpace. Could you go into more detail of how Facebook was something new, rather than just a better version of MySpace? Also, Google is usually said to have replaced Yahoo as the dominant search tool, could you elaborate on that too? Facebook initially was unique with a nice clean interface, and private networks within a university. This uniqueness and how it kind of made college socializing a bit different and more interesting caused it to grow greatly in popularity. Over time as it got released to more and more people it just kind of took over the scene.

bitcoin would be a pretty cool way for app developers to sell in-game "freemium" stuff without dealing with payment processors and other middlemen taking 15-30% of the cut.

I've been part of the "Scene" since late aug 2012 and here is what I have really noticed starting to happen in just those ~6 months
- More professional services popping up. - Substantial acceptance by companies who are serious mainstream players on the internet - A solid and relatively stable FX rate, and one that seems backed by decent fundamentals instead of pure speculation - Interesting alt-coins that attempt to make their mark but can't ever quite hit critical mass - an overall ecosystem that is quickly taking shape, i am VERY excited for what the next couple of years holds and hoping that legit services become more popular which help bitcoin lose its reputation for being a ponzi scheme and a "drug payment system"
heres to hopefully a great 2013 and 2014!

a magician whom only accepts BTC that comes to your house/office/school and does awesome tricks and teaches you some basic ones

the same thing you could always do... hold them or send them to another wallet address....
the ONLY thing you couldn't do was exchange it for USD

chimminy christmas.. and here us coinlab miners were wondering if this company was going to do anything with that gpu compute thing and the pool...
then BAM! they're the new mtgox.
I'm excited about this though. buying/selling needs to be made a LOT easier for increased trading.
