are the pools stats correct, every pool it say about for 500kh/s about 500coins/day but like mining 6 hour give abotu 10 coin.. ? umm??
the pools are PPLNS, and it takes about that long to begin getting blocks to mature. wait another 1-2 hours and you should see your balance increase at the proper rate. |

How about this: 10 million coins, precision past the 8th decimal place to see whether people can handle playing with smaller amounts., initial difficulty is higher than 1, block reward is significantly smaller than 50 and perhaps faster blocks with fast retargetting.

Please do not expect shares to be credited to your account until several hours until after that block was found.
Once the proper time had passed after I started mining, my account was credited properly and payouts were exactly as expected.
This is a solid pool with extremely low reject rate and its going to be tough to find something better than this.

I bet somethign similar to the PPC difficulty/block reward protocol would be helpful... but in reverse.
I'm thinking along the lines of:
if difficulty is say.. 1000.. you'd get 5 coins per block
10k.. 10
100k..25
200k...40
400k..65
1m..75
or whatever values actually make sense after "running the numbers".. this way it helps to even out the coins given out by the amount of work actually given within the chain. (of course maxing out once the coin has hit a predifined limit)

anyone know the difficulty on feathercoin? I'm wondering if a solo mine at 250kh/s is even worth it
65K CGminer shows 65k. Litecoin is currently 323, feathercoin is currently 1 (multiply by 65k to get the CGminer number, which is 20m something for LTC) |

One of my cards is getting up to 90 C... how can I bring the temps down?
- give the PC a cooler environment - give the GPU more airflow - lower voltage/core speed - lower intensity |

Basically something like litecoin, but with the following two characteristics:
1. GPUs should be no better at it than CPUs and hopefully worse.
2. It has to be absolutely FPGA and ASIC proof.
Litecoin had the right idea, but didn't go far enough. The way to really make this happen is to use something like scrypt, but have it access far more memory than is used by litecoin, by tweaking the scrypt params. That way GPUs will not be able to run a gazillion threads, because at least for the foreseeable future video cards will not have enough memory to support them.

Selling scamcoins is like selling magic beans. Just because some sucker will buy them doesn't mean it's the right thing to do.
funny thing is.. most all non-bitcoiners think bitcoin is a scam anyway.. all cryptocurrencies are basically the same thing.. some internet only computer based made up 'thing' that somehow people are willing to pay for. I just happen to believe more than most people in the world that it is a useful 'thing'. |

Even with the much higher difficulty now I have mostly rejects....what's wrong with this? I'm not even sure why everyone is piling onto this coin anyway.
in cgminer use the "--expire 5" setting, this forces the miner to get new information from the client far more often.. 5 seconds vs 60 or so by default. |

Started mining Litecoin large October last year (bunch of 7950s). Was making about $100-200 a month. Was pretty cool with that. Paid off the rigs in 4 or so months. Hoarded all the Litecoins I earned for shits and giggles, I think they were worth between $0.05-0.08 but the price was stable so I didn't care.
Fast forward to March. Litecoin went up to $4, dumped most of them, made 2000%+ profit on investment. Bought another 3 rigs with some of proceeds. Am mining and hoarding again. If the price goes down, good. More LTC for me when the difficulty falls.
The arguments above are more or less the same ones people were making when I was mining for Litecoins at 0.06 USD each. I ignored them. I made a lot of money. Unless some major problem comes up with the chain, I'm going to continue ignoring them.
Okay, time to get back to work here.
best part about mining is that crap runs itself in the background.. very little work needed once the rig is up and going :-D |

ummm, I just started less then a hour ago and I am at 17401  how?? my cgminers have found probably 800+ blocks so far.. but i've got a whopping 3 that actually made it into the chain.... |

Nice name! FeatherCoin like it. Any pools to mine it yet? a 600khhash machine is mining multiple blocks PER MINUTE. they are just all getting rejected as the network is WAY to fast for the difficulty currently. no pools needed yet.  |

Still have 2x pci-e16 slots over, so might go for those in the future.
Btw, are ALL of those cards voltage locked? Or just the newer editions? And what temperature are your cards at when mining?
Even if i manage to burn it out after a while, 2 year waranty should help, no?
the newer revision of the gigabyte card is voltage locked. i dont believe that the sapphire dual-x cards are locked |

Just had 3 blocks in a row with my 400 kh/s rig. But only 1 transaction in the gui daemon? Sorry I'm new to solo mining. It will take a minute or two to show up there, you'll see "Immature" : 200 or so (or 400 in your case) beforehand. i have 3 transactions in the gui.. but only 200 coins total. and only 1 transaction showing in the transactions tab. |

... nothing but rejects  you aren't doing anything wrong, it is the blocks coming in WAY faster than the network can share about them that is causing it to be rejected. |
