Hmm. Maybe when a fork is announced their should be a link to the fork part of the faq, which should have explicit clarification so noobs don't confuse it with the bad type of fork.

http://wiki.darkcoin.eu/wiki/FAQ#I_read_something_about_a_hard_fork._What_is_that.3F

This thread is way too long and active as to follow it if you are not really committed. Darkcoin is too big to be contained in just one thread. People who want structured information and discussion should come to https://darkcointalk.org. We are less there right now, but information is much more clear and there is less trolling. I love bitcointalk, but this thread is not manageable anymore and it's more similar to an IRC channel than to a forum.

Can people open their masternode wallet (dat) on their pc while its being used on their masternode as well?
Just to have a constant check on it

I think that can cause some trouble as the other one is already open (I'm assuming you are talking about opening a local copy of wallet.dat), but it is super easy to check balance on the server from your computer with the command line or with something like Putty.

Yeah thats what I was wondering. Its ok I just found darkcoind getbalance Smiley

Yes, you can also use darkcoind getinfo and one of the outputs is the balance.

Do you guys think a smartphone wallet with darksend will be technically feasible?
An Android wallet is nearly finished, but I'm not sure about whether it incorporates Darksend.

I don't think so. Darksend is not open sourced yet and the Android wallet is being made by someone else. As soon as it is open sourced there is no reason for the Android wallet not to incorporate Darksend. The work related to Darksend transactions is made at the masternodes, so the platform of the wallet should be irrelevant.

As a long term client of BTC-E, whom I'm a great fan of btw, after doing a good six figures USD worth of trades there yesterday I opened a support ticket to request that they added Darkcoin, they replied today, which I quote in full (sik), and it seems that this isn't going to be happening, certainly not in the foreseeable future anyway:

Hello

no planed

I still believe they will add darkcoin soon. The exchange might of said "no planed" so people wouldn't get super hyped up before it's added.

They might add it one month from now unsuspectingly. Which is what I would do.

Most religions would love to have followers with as much faith as you have in BTC-E  Wink

Really crazy coin, price increases every day without a break

Except the days it doesn't  Wink

It's been an amazing month, but let's not create hopes that can't be fulfilled. If it falls I expect it to rise again, but there will be price drops along the way! And it will be ok  Smiley

Updated, now 46

Check Masternode status.

Adding the payment per day to the count graph is great! although it will be hard to see it go down as the count increases  Wink

https://itunes.apple.com/hk/app/coin-ticker-bitcoin-litecoin/id636476147?mt=8

coin ticker is a good app to check your coins on the move
i hustled them for a while and they have DRK charts now as well
…..>

this is surprise good news, I thought they pulled everything related to crypto currencies from the store, even those apps that were only indirectly related. I suppose even apple isn't powerful enough to resist the inevitable end of fiat currency.

They never pulled everything crypto related.  Only crypto wallets, i.e. apps that allow spending from the app itself.  (Which makes sense in a way; I don't think I would want my private keys on my phone.)  There are plenty of informational-only crypto apps on iTunes.

Wallets in the phone are necessary for adoption, we need them to be able to spend/send away from computer. I'm also wary about having a wallet in my phone, but I reduce my anxiety by using a separate one with a limited amount in it (BTC, we don't have a DRK one yet).

I did try to do a bit arbitrage trading between cryptsy and Mintpal.
Afer done on a volume of 0,25 BTC i did recalclulate my trades as i did wonder where my profit was lost.

So i found out i payed 0,15% fee of volume at mintpal and 3% on cryptsy.

Cryptsy Charged me 3%, I´ve been done with them. Not only their bad transaction times, they also rip off their costumers !

Has somebody a link to their fees table ?

The one on Mintpal is easy to find, the fees table on cryptsy  Huh

Cryptsy charges 0.20% to buy and 0.30% to sell. Are you sure about your numbers?

EDIT: the link to Cryptsy fees: https://cryptsy.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/173970-what-are-cryptsy-s

I would rather Mintpal add USD etc than BTC-e add DRK  Grin

mintpal is the best exchange to trade your coins, and adding USD is more good.

The problem with adding USD markets is that they will need to ID people. Cryptsy has just started because of that, as all (most?) BTC to USD exchanges do. It's not them, it's the law. Many people don't feel comfortable with this, so maybe it would be better if Mintpal stays away from USD.
https://btc-e.com/ doesn't require it afaik

You are right, I forgot about them because I don't use them. The ID requirement is necessary to comply with certain American and European anti money laundering laws, which I don't believe BTC-e does. However, Mintpal is based in the UK, so most certainly they would and USD markets would bring IDs.

Hi everyone, I'm sorry I disappeared.  I don't know if someone hacked my account or if I stupidly changed the login and totally forgot.  60/40 percent chance favoring stupidity.  I had no personal information in my profile, so hopefully all is ok.  I'll just have to make sure nobody represents me badly by keeping an eye on it.

I get frustrated, and anxiety builds up, so I had to step away from the forum a while and now I feel better Smiley

Anyway, one good thing is this will keep me from spamming posts, ROFL  Grin  I'm a newbie again!

Try Keepass. Open source and free password manager. I used to have many problems with my passwords, but no more since I started using it. You can create a local DB of passwords, sync it with your phone, pull from the browser, available in all platforms. Once you try, it becomes a no brainer.

Jesus Christ. I just placed 5 buy orders on my mobile phone. Two smaller ones above 120 and the rest of my bitcoins in much lower buy orders, 'just in case'. I'm done placing my orders and scroll up on mintpal and I notice that for some reason it does not display the orders above 120. I refresh. Still not there. I scroll down...

Between me placing the high buy orders and me placing buy orders slightly above 100, the 200+ BTC dump happened.

I'm starting to think that the universe does not want me making money with this. I also went full bitcoin for the first time in weeks right before the pump from .006 to .0119 (because of a bad assumption and the fact that I was going on vacation).

What app do you use on your phone for placing trades on mintpal?

I've done that in the browser without problem in the past (Chrome on Android).

Bankcoin has also Darksend, the dev said it.

Can maybe anyone check this? if darksend works?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=606388.0

More likely he plans on stealing *ahem* implementing it when darksend becomes open source. I call bullshit personally.

Mee too. There are a few Darkcoin clones that claim that will implement Darksend but nobody has done a thing yet. Just suckers.

I'm running 0.10.8.2 and trying to make my first Darksend transaction. I've tried three times now to send small amounts (0.00xx), but none have worked. The first shows as Type="Payment to yourself", Address="(n/a)" and amount="0.00". The next two are the same except the amount is -0.001.

What am I doing wrong? Does the amount need to be larger? I know  there is a limit of 10, but is there a minimum?

Not sure what the problem is, but there is no minimum amount.
