Hi everyone! I just wanted to update everyone as its been a little while and there have been several updates in the Quark landscape recently. First of all, the Quark Android Wallet was updated by Hashengineering on June 21st - check it out here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hashengineering.quarkcoin.wallet&hl=enSecondly, BTC38 has elected to shut down their entire BTC trade pair section as they felt that there is too much volatility with BTC as well as the uncertainty related to a potential upcoming hard fork per their communication - HOWEVER this has now meant that Quark and the other coins in this section have now been moved to direct trading vs Chinese Yuan (CNY; http://www.btc38.com/trade_en.html?btc38_trade_coin_name=qrk), which has played a role in the recent price rally we've seen. Lastly, after a couple of setbacks, we now have been working with the pacatum coding group ( http://btc.pacatum.com/) and they have worked diligently to complete the lions share of the coding related to the coming update which will change Quark from POW to Hybrid POW/POS. In addition to this, they have also included masternodes into this codebase update! The code has been submitted to our github ( https://github.com/quark-project/quark) and is now currently in testing. I will keep people updated in the coming weeks regarding the progress on this, along with the a timeframe for the planned hard fork which will be required to complete its implementation. Importantly, this update will change the inflation rate in order to adequately pay the various stakeholders in the ecosystem - ie. miners, stakers and masternode holders, and will add a development fund. Although not yet fully delineated, the likely breakdown will be approximately 1.5% POW, 1.5% POS (split between masternodes and POS stakers), and 0.5% development. These values are approximate and I will also update once these are finalized. Will there be coin swap? |

NO ICO and directly onto the trading platform? Most people can only buy coins at low prices through these platforms
Although I was a pioneer of ICOs back in 2014, they are as illegal today as they were back then (in the US in particular). That's why I shut it down. But increasing popularity doesn't translate to increased legality. I haven't conducted any polls, so am not sure about what most people visiting this thread prefer. It's a good idea, though. Finally bought some GOOD. Where do I store it. Is there a wallet ready? |

Yep, something is still missing. I clicked on debug and see zero connections and zero blocks. :-(
I think there may be some major differences with the instructions for the PC wallet vs. that for the Mac wallet. The file/folder structure is not the same.
People say step by step guide I wrote worked on mac too. So maybe you can try again. Just make sure back up your wallet.dat |

I've never had this much trouble with any other cryptocurrency. Usually I just download the wallet, open it and it starts syncing automatically... there should be no need to go through all these extra steps and hurdles with downloading files, etc. Do you know what it's this way and is there any plans to make it more user friendly so the average (non-techie) person could use it? Why would you even sell them for such a small price... I'll keep my coins, I believe in the project  Yeah it's just stupid. You have to sell 100 million coins at 1 satoshi to make 1 bitcoin. Since it's their coins they have all the rights to do what they want. But it's not that bad thing. Those coins just changing hands not disappearing. Socialcoin will bounce back when the selling mania settles. If I have dry powder next few days I will buy more while it's cheap. |

The Teslacoin QT file folder on a Mac is only accessible by clicking on the TeslaCoin-Qt.app and clickong on "Show Package Contents" and then I see a folder labeled "Contents" which is where I pasted in the bootstrap files which only consisted of 2 folders (database and txleveldb) plus 1 file labled blk0001.dat. It now looks like this...  Is that right? I restarted the TeslaCoin QT and it still doesn't do anything and doesn't start syncing. Ugh, I feel really stupid here, am I missing something? Anyone know how to get the Mac wallet to work? I downloaded it, encrypted it, but it still says in red "out of sync" - I sent some TES from cryptopia to this wallet and it says the transaction went through, but does not appear on the Teslacoin explorer or in my desktop wallet. Not sure what I'm missing here.
This is what I did after downloading new wallet qt. 1. Back up your wallet. Copy paste your current wallet.dat somewhere. 2. Run new Teslacoin QT and close it. 3. Unzip bootstrap and replace the file on Teslacoin folder. 4. Copy paste your old wallet.dat in Teslacoin folder. 5. Run Teslacoin qt again and do this How to recover your TES from an old wallet First, welcome back to TES Wink Second, in your wallet, get into the console (Help > Debug window) 2) Type in: a) checkwallet (identifies misspent coins) then b) repairwallet (rectifies the error) And it should be ok now! Smiley 6. If there's no connection use conf file I uploaded. 7. Wait for few hours to sync. 8. Be patient Smiley This is confusing to me. I opened Teslacoin QT wallet (version 3.2.0.0) and backed up my wallet.dat file, but it's empty because this is a brand new install of the wallet and my first time using it. On the general question of exchanges, somebody mentioned already having applied for a listing on Yobit. But I cannot now find that message. So either I dreamt it (there have been a lot of late nights lately, so that's possible) or it's been deleted.
Anyway, I will be furthering the application process for Nova and Yobit over the next day or so. Wanted to do so this evening but running out of time now.
If anybody has already applied to Yobit (not sure why they would, and I also recall it was the premium option, which isn't free) please confirm. Otherwise, I advise when progressed.

How can I start staking? Haven't done that before.
Once your wallet is synced, click on the "unlock wallet" button and input your passphrase. Once unlocked your wallet will start staking automatically and you'll see your balance transfered to the "staking" section. Then, the coins generated need to mature, basically to be confirmed. Did that, there is no visual hint that anything changed. How long before any balance moves to Stake:... section? And then how long before it matures? Also is there a command I can run, to verify it is actively staking? Usually I stake 100 teslas everyday. I don't know why it's around 100. |
