So you are just some random IT dude who claims to be a professional trader. Okay, I got it, now get over yourself and stop whining.

A professional trader is someone who makes their living from trading. I'm sorry if that is too complicated for you to understand. I was lucky enough to be working as an IT consultant for various investment banks and learned from many professionals back then. Knowledge passed on from those who do is far more valuable than all the random gurus that make a living selling trading education, they are mostly failed traders. If you don't want to pay any attention to the advice I gave that's your loss, not mine.

Enjoy your charts. /Quin out

Anyone knows how can I remove EUR and some other shitcoin pairs from "Trading" menu list?

I used to have hidden pairs i don't follow, but since couple of weeks ago its showing everything on the list and i didnt figure out how to hide them again. Undecided what a mess

The only way I've found is to use the favourites list (the star symbol). Then you can build the list to only include pairs you want to follow.

In my opinion this will harden the hearts of under not merited.

This will knock out everyone who aren't merited yet. Take note op that it will be more complicated. More postings will come in every sides steps of this forum then more earn shitpostings posted garbages maybe including me, hope not so.

I would suggest you stick to your local board as that looks like it was written in the unintelligible language of Genglish (Google translated English). Your posting history shows you are indeed the very type of shitposter that the merit system is trying keep out.
4604  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Congressman's statement on Bitcoiners. Right in the feelings. Hahaha. on: March 16, 2018, 07:56:59 AM
It is so funny because it's true.

But know that the majority of people who came in Bitcoin land after 2015 were of the same type the congressman described. So I believe there's more than "a dozen".

We need to look in the mirror and see if we are that type and appropriately change our thinking about Bitcoin.

Not only that, I believe there are other worse types of the same vein as "we are going to be millionaires if we hold long enough".

He did say "a few dozen men in my district" so I'd guess that might be an exaggeration. I'd say it's funny because it's a stereotype and stereotypes only work when there's an element of truth in them.

I sent two emails using the message board in the faq section of the freebitcoin site, but haven't received a reply.  Who is the wetsuit that you mentioned in the post earlier and how do you contact them?

Go back to the opening post of this thread and you'll see he posted it, click on his name and send a PM. Alternatively, when someone mentions a name on here you can click the MEMBERS link in the top bar and use the member search function.
4606  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: March 15, 2018, 03:56:20 PM
I'm having same problem - instead of 24 Satoshi I'm also getting only 12 Satoshi. I'm not sure that's a bug. Maybe now payments are based on country - if you are from tier 1 country, you are getting full reward, if not - only 50% of basic reward. It looks that there aren't same scenario as on Freedoge.co.in, where basic reward halved for all users.
But now we need to wait for announcement from Myfe or wetsuit to give more details about what's going on on Freebitco.in currently.

I have seen this problem already a couple of times. It has nothing to do with your country, most probably freebitco.in is thinking that you are trying to cheat the system and therefore the reward is halved. You should contact wetsuit and he will resolve this situation for u.
I know about that. In past my reward was halved and after contacting wetsuit he fixed it. But now there are many users affected and I'm guessing why. I thought that there different reason caused halved rewards.

I go with a guess here. They've enhanced their bot detection methods and its flagged a load of non-bots. A bit like when your email provider starts sending the important stuff you want to the spam folder.
4607  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why we may be stuck in the current range for long on: March 15, 2018, 12:56:12 PM
You didn't disagree with my analysis in any constructive way, to begin with. You came up with contrived arguments like who was selling when the market was trading near December highs

A reminder that it was a constructive counterargument.

I would have to disagree that the resistance at 12k is "an impenetrable selling wall". There is a consolidation taking place which has found that resistance at 12k and also support around 8.3k. When that happens many traders will play the range and buy the bottom and sell the top repeatedly until it breaks out. That means if it does try and breakout upwards there will be many shorts trapped that will need to buy to cover, that will be the fuel for the next spurt upwards. Equally the opposite is true if it breaks down. Anyone who thinks they can predict which of those two things will happen is fooling themselves. Trading isn't about predicting which way it will breakout but rather recognising it when it happens and then reacting quickly to that.

..and ended up with references to your "professional trading career", as if it could give more substance and weight to your argument.

After you just dismissed my reading of the situation with this.

Honestly, I think you are clutching at straws here.

And then it turned out that you have essentially nothing to be bragging about either.

When you chuck a well paying IT career in and start off with $50k trading capital you saved and then support yourself from the income. Then do that for at least 3 years you'll have something interesting to say on that. Until then you're just another wannabee playing with TA that is as reliable as astrology.

And now you complain about personal attacks. Don't cry!

I'm not crying, I'm trying not to laugh at you as I'm actually starting to feel sorry for you.
4608  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why we may be stuck in the current range for long on: March 15, 2018, 12:39:06 PM
That's pathetic. Someone who claims to be an allegedly successful "professional trader" is posting for money on a forum.

I went past the paid posts count this week ages ago. I've got time to kill until US markets open. I'm also a Bitcoin enthusiast and have been involved for a long time. I get a lot out of participating on this forum and the bit of extra coin I get for renting out my sig is inconsequential.

What is really pathetic is how you turned my disagreeing with your analysis into a personal attack on me.
4609  Other / Meta / Re: My conspiracy theory about spammers on: March 15, 2018, 12:35:12 PM
Get reporting then. If we are talking about spammers then report them because that's the only way they are going to get cleaned up because there just isn't enough manpower to enforce the hundreds of spammers per section.

Ok but what actually constitutes spam that should be reported. I tend to report if it's off-topic, a few meaningless words or so badly written I can't understand it. They are almost all from Brand New or Newbie accounts and most likely bots. But I don't report the typical signature spam. So example, I've just been to Bitcoin Discussions and the latest post is:

Thread If people stop buying bitcoin Page 47
Post:
If a lot of people stop buying bitcoin i'm sure the price of the bitcoin will go down. Because of the lack of investors from bitcoin. Prices will drop from day to day i'm sure of it.

From a Jr Member with paid signature. Obviously spam but if I report that then I'd report thousand a day. Is that what I should do?

4610  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: March 15, 2018, 10:51:48 AM
Hi Friends !

Yesterday LUCKY NUMBER 0 - 9885 paid 0.00000023 BTC.
Today only 0.00000012 BTC.    Huh
Very funny waste of time from now.
Regards !

What are you talking about? On my end lucky number 0 - 9885 is rewarded 0.00000025 BTC. Here you have full table:

Anyway these rewards depend directly on the price of Bitcoin permanently.

It's working fine for me but there are people complaining of lower payouts in the other thread (Micro earnings board) so there might be some bug/issue ongoing.
4611  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why we may be stuck in the current range for long on: March 15, 2018, 10:30:42 AM
Then your reference to being a professional trader is meanigless.

Your ignorance of what it takes to consistently make a living from trading in no way diminishes what I have pointed out. Go back to drawing pretty lines on your charts and see how far that gets you.
4612  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: March 15, 2018, 10:16:49 AM
Few hours ago it was 25-26 satoshi, while the other prizes remained similar in bitcoins (250-2500000 satoshis). Maybe this is just a move similar to what they did to freedoge.co.in...
Quote
We have been operating Freedoge.co.in at a loss for the past few years and have been running it as a sort of charity because we like the principles behind Dogecoin. The website has seen increasing amounts of fraud which negates any profit that could have been made from legitimate users.

As a result of this, we had to choose between shutting the website down entirely or reducing the minimum reward and we chose the latter so that legitimate users can still get some free dogecoins while at the same time, it becomes unprofitable for abusers to steal from the faucet on a large scale. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Maybe there are too many scammers on freebitco.in, same as that on freedoge.co.in Sad

This is very bad, why all should suffer for few scammers!

We're not, it looks like a bug that is only affecting some users. I'm still getting 24 sats = 0.002USD.

Me and my partner are on two different IP address neither use VPN or Proxy, I am regularly depositing btc with my faucethub Income, then why this sudden shocker with no warning Sad

Please help in resolving this issue.

I'm just another customer, you need to send a PM to Myfe to get it resolved.
4613  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: March 15, 2018, 10:13:24 AM
I did not receive the new points yesterday for my account. Sad

According to your post history, you have not posted since January 31, 2018.  Therefore it appears that you did not post for at least 2 activity periods, and possibly you have not posted any for 3 activity periods.   You have to post at least 1 time every activity period in order to earn points for that activity period, and if you activity period passes without you making any posts, then you will not be able to make up activity points for that period.

It is a "you snooze, you lose" sort of situation.
Well now that I have posted this comment, I received my points.
But the thing is, when I started this account I asked about this "Snooze" thing and I was told my account should still be valid and I will earn my points as long as I have Posts points left, in my situation I have 245 posts points, and therefore I should keep getting my points until my Activity points is equal to my post points.

That's as far as I understood. but anyway thanks for the information, I shall keep my account active with at least one post every 2 weeks. Smiley

You could be correct that this time you end up gaining more than 14 activity points, and I am not clear about whether gaining those points is because your post(s) might overlap periods, or if there is some other algorithmic rule that i do not understand that would allow your activity points to catch up by what seems to be three missed activity periods (which would have been 42 points (14x3)).  Currently, I am suspecting that your posting 1 time, had caused a catching up of the activity points, but you are not going to receive any more activity points for two weeks - because your activity points are caught up to your current posts.  Probably there is a better way of explaining this, and I did see that you had 168 activity points, and now you have 182 activity points (which means that you just earned the max - and the max caught up to the fact that you posted today), and if you earn any more activity points between now and two weeks from now (before the next activity points update date), I would be surprised.. b

Almost. He has 246 posts and 182 activity so 246-182=64 then 64/14=4.57 so he needs to post at least once in the next 5 activity periods to achieve full potential activity..... But without Merit then the activity is pretty pointless.

4614  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion: Merit Phase 2 - Drain the Swamp (@theymos) on: March 15, 2018, 10:01:31 AM
Hah!  Easy for you to say...  What about cute trolls like me that people seldom give merits to?  I sure am a narcissistic assh*le in the forum at times, but I'm far from being a spammer.

And I'm not here to please anybody for merits.  F*ck that.

One way to make this forum better is to be extra stict for a year or so...

Hey tokeweed, that name I haven't seen around for a long time, you just reminded me of the Cloudhashing thread. I'm sure you don't want to please anybody for merits but I see you got a few anyway.

Sure being strict and banning all the shitposters would be better but there's no sign of that happening. I've reported copy pasters that don't get banned, I've posted in the Known Alts thread about farmers and the Merit abuse thread about that. It's very rare that someone gets tagged. So I went off to come up with a way of automating it.

It's certainly not meant to punish anyone like you or anyone that just doesn't post very often as @squatter and @SaltySpitoon pointed out. I'm sure it would be easier for the moderators to whitelist the few people affected by seeing they obviously are not shitposters than trying to ban the thousands that are.

4615  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why we may be stuck in the current range for long on: March 15, 2018, 09:34:10 AM
Oh, and professional traders are not all multi-millionaires. It's a tough job and most of grind out a living.

Well, somehow grinding out a living doesn't resonate quite well with being a professional futures trader for 12 years.

Thank you for demonstrating you have no idea what being a professional trader involves. I have made a living from trading for just over 12 years which is far more successful than most that have tried.

Besides, it seems to be universally recognized already and even confirmed (https://www.ccn.com/bitcoin-drops-8300-mt-gox-trustee-sell-off-continues-market-drops/) by the trustee himself that the recent price crash was exactly due to off-loading of the Gox coins in the open market.

What the article actually says:
Quote
Analysts like WhalePanda have attributed to the recent fall to....

Did you read the piece in its entirety? It is only one page long, and right after that WhalePanda citation, the Mt. Gox trustee himself says the following:

Quote
As a result of the consultation with the court, I considered it necessary and reasonable to sell a certain amount of BTC and BCC at this point and secure a certain amount of money for distribution resources, and thus, I sold the amount of BTC and BCC above. I made efforts to sell BTC and BCC at as high a price as possible in light of the market price of BTC and BCC at the timing of sale. I plan to consult with the court and determine further sale of BTC and BCC

Moreover, he is going to sell more than $1.7 billion worth of Bitcoin in the upcoming months, so everyone should beware of more profound price declines.

Yes, I did read it and that quote in no way says what you said it did. He says that he sold them, he does not say that the price drop was caused by that action.

Moreover, he is going to sell more than $1.7 billion worth of Bitcoin in the upcoming months, so everyone should beware of more profound price declines.

Everyone in this case not including traders who will pay far more attention to order flow.

4618  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Core 0.16 and bech32 on: March 15, 2018, 08:31:50 AM
Just out of curiousity... what version did you upgrade from? and is your wallet an HD wallet? (does the HD icon in the bottom right corner have a X through it or does it say "HD Key generation is enabled" if you hover the mouse over it?)

I ask because if you have an old legacy wallet that isn't HD, it's possible it won't generate the SegWit addresses... It isn't mentioned explicitly in the release notes or anything, I'm just thinking out loud.

I've tried this with my old vintage 2013 non-HD wallet.dat and it produces bech32 addresses without any issues. To answer the OP it should work and I can't reproduce the problem.

Edit:
You can also try from the dubug console:

getnewaddress "" bech32

4619  Other / Meta / Re: Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ on: March 15, 2018, 08:00:48 AM
Hello bitcointalk users.

Is it allowed to have 2 or more account, use them from one PC and IP, and participate in different bounty campaign?
And Signature Campaign Managers doesn't allow alts within their campaigns because of numerous obvious reasons including spam, merit abuse and cheating.
Having alts may not be against the rules, but those "cheating practices" will likely get you red trust tagged by DT members.
So Alts, the way you want to use them is not allowed.

I just want to add one further note to that. The practice of having undisclosed alts is likely to attract negative trust. The only way to avoid it is to openly declare the alts as many high ranking individuals have done. Leave trust to your other account stating 'this is my alt' and post in Known Alts of any-one - A User Generated List Mk III (2018 Q1) thread to declare it there.

I was going to try and fix your dodgy quoting but my brain is much too tired for that right now.

Damn missing / thanks for the headsup, I went back and fixed it.

But what difference does it make to him to hold on to them? He does not earn any more or less and nor do the people being compensated, isn't the only real winner from it Karpeles who is said to receive any leftover coins?

Nothing really, but when price peaked and started coming down I understand that would make him want to get on with it just incase it totally collapsed.

You're right, most of it has been huge FUD and we're still seeing it now, every time there is a dump it's being referenced when it's completely different reasons causing it, it's evident today with the dump due to the news that google will ban advertisements (don't even get me started on how out of proportion that news has been blown)

Do you remember the stories at the time of the peak were all about CME futures causing the drop? Exactly the same thing happens in fiat markets. Market goes up and CNBC et al go off and find a good story to pin it to, market goes down and CNBC et al go off and find a bad story to pin it to.
