wtf is going on with Monero? ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) Could be only a "pump" in front of the upcoming Bithumb listing. But I think it is also a little legitimate correction. That alt project is one of the few which has actual utility, and I think it would deserve BCH's place more than BCH does. I image it's not done going up yet, and i agree there will be an inevitable counter correction when it is done with this run. I am not much of a trader so it's all just fireworks for me.

Well happy to see Monero finally hit $100. Been a long time coming. My miner has been running three years now. Some of the GPU fans are starting to not work, even with routine maintenance the GPU's are slowly dying. She's an old tug now.
All those early bounty donations have paid off. Monero keeps getting better and better. Hope everyone here has been well, long time since my last post.
Its like getting I kite off the ground. Running and pulling, running and pulling. Suddenly, it starts pulling back! Just passed $141 CAD ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Whats that in real money? ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) 1 monero ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fmedia.giphy.com%2Fmedia%2FmNdOc0Aziv88E%2Fgiphy.gif&t=663&c=IPj0CCpdJZ_NRw)

There is very little point in a lengthy refutation of Protocols of the Elders of Zion.
If you think XMR overpriced, then put all your capital into s horting it.

Shit like that should be fucking rejected. Should be a network rule that if there are sufficient transactions to fill a block, that if you don't >90% fill it then your block is invalid. 481831 (Main Chain) 2017-08-24 03:49:31 BitFury 0000000000000000008c40ba590fe957fb31ba256c82ae3ea4c378f46e3aa9b3 999.11 481830 (Main Chain) 2017-08-24 03:34:51 BitFury 000000000000000000168d1252b6df5a1d58085e3553522b88760dd79a614e4b 999.23 481829 (Main Chain) 2017-08-24 03:30:37 Bixin 000000000000000000917cba69f69b758fe396c8e30ae97bbcf08c4eb975e726 998.32 481828 (Main Chain) 2017-08-24 02:54:58 AntPool 000000000000000000bc331eb461d522cb3673b3881217dc30c6a5cf91710f23 0.3 481827 (Main Chain) 2017-08-24 02:51:10 BATPOOL 000000000000000000509863d58a52dbe2ec811d91619f164dab3fe9177874b4 999.29 481826 (Main Chain) 2017-08-24 02:44:20 BitFury 000000000000000000df9314ff6dd5aa8ce15d4e418fa3f5c4fa9fff4e480811 999.2 481825 (Main Chain) 2017-08-24 02:26:36 Unknown 000000000000000000daf7a26d903543377d5cdddb962077e58fd11212479eea 999.17 481824 (Main Chain) 2017-08-24 01:57:37 BTCC Pool 0000000000000000001c8018d9cb3b742ef25114f27563e3fc4a1902167f9893 989.32 Roll it back to 481827, all those after should be orphaned I was sort of sympathetic 'till that last part. Monero is the most useful anon coin ever made in crypto.. I think it will at least double its price in just 2 years. Doubling up is my safest bet. Think.
It is much more likely to rise two orders of magnitude than it is to double. So you see it going straight to $10k range? This is a very very bullish outlook IMHO.

Holy Jesus of God! So what's the news? I'm sure it's more than just because of it's technical merits. Is XMR finally becoming the official cryptocurrency of the darknet?

But the Segwit2X agreement is somewhat reasonable and feasible.
So maybe I am expecting that CORE put this to a fucking end with a very simple change that will be needed soon anyways?
I don't think this is a change so critical that both camps need to keep the finger over the "mutual destruction" button. And that is exactly what they are doing now.
You're wrong, core owes you nothing. Stop acting like a whiny bitch who is not getting extra ice-cream all over your face. There is only one side making threats of destruction and it is not core. Core are basically a group of volunteers, not your paid servants that you can shit on any time you're feeling upset. I doubt you know shit about software security systems but you expect to know what is a "reasonable position" for fundamental protocol changes to the bitcoin distributed network. Sometimes people have to know their limitations and when it is time to shut the fuck up. Your time is now you idiot. A hardfork needs to be well-thought out and the opportunity to clean up a lot of legacy technical debt is the wisest course of action. It will need significant testing and long advance notice, probably 12-18 months for all the older operational nodes. Core has always said that there will be a hardfork and an algorithm to increase blocksize would be implemented at that time, just not tonight dear. This is an operational $60 billion financial clearing and monetary security system, not something you can just tinker with next time you have a panic desperation anxiety attack that your technical opinion is becoming irrelevant. Harsh. But truth.

Only thing that's unsatisfying about this pump is that more shorts weren't placed at the bottom. The thought of seeing the naysayers get sent to the poorhouse gives me so much joy. Other people's misfortune brings you joy?? My, my....what a twisted individual you are ! And no, I don't think "a fungible currency like XMR is useless".
Okay, I'll bite. What do you think would be the difference between XMR and "a fungible currency like XMR?" XMR doesn't respect its potential users. With all this focus on back end and sloooow front end development xmr risks becoming a dev platform for other coins who take users seriously. I'm also curious to see if fluffyponzi sunk this ship with his little stunt (at this point in crypto, traders are most definitely users). Near-future price action will probably give an answer to that. Fingers crossed. I was not someone who looked at FP's "troll" announcement as wise or even funny. That said, it is what it is, and maybe I am just one of the ones who did not "get it". But I have no idea why you are acting like Monero's descent against BTC has anything to do with that, or is even speculatively significant beyond the question of whether one should risk being out of alts in general to ride the BTC wave. After all Monero has not fared any worse in this market than other alts. Better than many. Looks to me like many are down ~50% right now as compared to BTC. Monero is down a lot too... but its price in USD holds pretty firmly between $45-50 right now. I'd say if it breaks under .010 significantly it will be more related to BTC approaching 5kUSD than FP's troll. This little screenshot tells a story if you ask me: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fimage.ibb.co%2FiBNEWa%2F2017_08_14_16_34_59.png&t=663&c=v-4T6DxmDPHl5w)

Some wishful speculation (tm)...
As painful as it is to see the price of Monero/BTC languish I am somewhat encouraged to see alts doing this across the board.
My thought is once the bitcoin air has escaped the alt balloon we will be ripe for a reshuffle. Let alts with true utility and potential recover while the BS projects can stay in the gutter. Markets correct in time. We've been overdue.
Still painful to watch...

Yeah but i dont give a fuck about Fiat, BTC value ist all that matters
So you would be happy if BTC went down to 200$ as long as XMR went up to 0.10000000 ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Of course not ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) But I wouldnt mind a litte cool down in BTC. When (not if) that happens I would expect a significant upward correction in XMR.

Laughing completely out loud. First of all, is the same old crap over and over again. Monero copied the great work of the bytecoin geniuses "whoever they are". Nothing original came from Monero. Monero is just a copy.
Blah blah blah.
It's the same thing over and over again and has been for years now.
And you talk about butthurt.
But the best part was when you brought shadowcash into it.
Ha ha. Hahahahahahahahaha.

You know what would be awesome... If some of the gigantic genesis block Satoshi wallets piled their BCH onto an exchange and crashed the schidt out of the price... rinse repeat... then back to sleep.

"As of today, we have taken measures to blacklist all addresses associated with the WannaCry attackers that are known to the ShapeShift team, as is our policy for any transactions we deem breach our terms of service. We are closely watching the situation as it continues to unfold as to block any further addresses associated.” https://www.cyberscoop.com/wannacry-monero-bitcoin/Umm... is this gentlemen?

When you say "blacklist some shitcoins" do you mean BTC? Because it's BTC addresses being blacklisted here... "As of today, we have taken measures to blacklist all addresses associated with the WannaCry attackers that are known to the ShapeShift team, as is our policy for any transactions we deem breach our terms of service. We are closely watching the situation as it continues to unfold as to block any further addresses associated.”

Daily standard deviation of poloniex USDT pairs since January 1, 2017
BTC 4.70% XMR 7.58% ZEC 7.82% ETH 7.97% DASH 8.09% REP 8.16% ETC 8.53% LTC 8.73% NXT 10.39% STR 12.75% XRP 13.74%
Can you explain the implications of this? This is a measurement of volatility. It is notable to me in two ways. 1. Respectively XMR is the least volatile (most stable) of the top alts. 2. Crypto is clownishly volatile. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
