4601  Other / Politics & Society / Re: You sit idly by while American patriots are tortured and killed on: June 18, 2017, 08:54:14 PM
Are you an American? I sit idly because I'm in Europe, but I always thought Americans have more rights than most of us. In most European countries you are not allowed to buy a gun or carry it with you and knives are treated like deadly weapons Cheesy If you assault a thief in your own house he can file charges and demand compensation for medical bills and such. At least you own your land and have the right to protect it.
4602  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: moon.cryptothis.com - crypto market cap visualization on: June 18, 2017, 08:45:57 PM
It looks very nice, the design is a bit basic once it launches. I like the initial animation, but you could make the flames animated and make them keep burning as the site is o, so it doesn't look so static. I also like the suggestion to add likes or points, so we know how would that look on a chart instead of estimating only from the size and height of the rockets.
4603  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What were your experiences with Bitcoin when you first started? on: June 18, 2017, 07:40:37 PM
the lack of knowledge is my first experience when i started to bitcoin because it is hard to know where to start and what are the best thing to do to earn bitcoin it takes a lot of time and research to understand it. we all started to nothing but time pass and we can learn more and gain knowledge just be patient.
When I first started I googled Bitcoin, wallets and mining and it pointed me here, to the forum. I started reading and learned everything I needed to know within a day. In the next week I was already hooked and owned some coins.
It's not hard to learn about Bitcoin as there are multiple youtube videos for beginners and guides here on the forum, you just have to spend some time reading and watching.
4604  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcointalk Model is Awesome. on: June 18, 2017, 07:37:27 PM
I do not want to burst your bubble, but the same people behind Facebook and Twitter are the people that are members of this forum. This forum

are just as dangerous as any other Social media platform. We have loads of scammers and government shills and criminals on here too. Look who

was behind MtGox and where did he post? Do not create a situation where you are fooled by this forum and some of it's members.  Wink
Nothing new really. MtGox had to start somewhere and advertise, I don't believe they were planning an exit scam when they started their Bitcoin journey.
If one of the running businesses closed down and owners decided to run with the money you'd be able tos ay the same that crooks are writing on bitcointalk. Every forum is like that. Most people writing about Bitcoin on Reddit are also Bitcointalk members.
4605  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: why is there no cloud-mining now? on: June 16, 2017, 05:37:50 PM
Cloud mining offers a way to mine actual coins, and remember GM allows you to use you hash rate against other coins on some contracts.

Tell me, why should anyone believe you if you're wearing their signature and posting about their services. I mean you're a walking advert for them, even your 2 last posts are praising them in 2 different threads. Is this your way to say "thank you" or are you on a payroll?
GM is a ripoff and 3% discount won't change anything. You'd need to be offering at least 20% to give people a chance at earning anything with them.
4606  Other / Politics & Society / Re: purpose of life on: June 16, 2017, 05:13:26 PM
My purpose in life is to have fun, live it to the fullest. At the moment I need to raise enough money to be able to afford this way of living. I'd like to try a bit of everything, sports, food, alcohol, visit as many countries as possible. I think there are two main purposes in life, one being productivity and the other pleasure. I'm not that productive, so i choose to pursue the latter.
4607  Economy / Speculation / Re: price getting down on: June 16, 2017, 03:48:45 PM
Up nearly $200 from that right shoulder... nice swing trade. Just made 2 weeks pay overnight, should have been a lot more though as I chickened out and only invested about $12K. With that said a reverse head shoulders is a reversal pattern.. there's no reason it can't rebound back up above $2700 here. Beautiful looking reverse head shoulders pattern here. Of course it will only keep going up until it doesn't. Chart reading is far from an exact science. Looking forward to more swing trades in the future.

You never know how much you can make of it. I used to look at it like that. "Sold for $100 more, I just made $1000 over the weekend, got all happy and took a couple days off to celebrate and have fun. While I was at it the price went up another $100, so that could have been $2000 had I decided to hold instead of being satisfied with half of it.

The reason the price goes down is normal market correction.. the liquidity provided by those bots which are programmed with a degree of technical analysis in mind was apparent as I was sitting watching them last night.  It's almost like a law of nature that nothing goes straight up, and everything goes in cycles, and everything ultimately corrects at some point.
The biggest problem is to know that exact point.
4608  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-06-12] Apple co-founder Wozniak bought bitcoin at $700 for fun on: June 13, 2017, 09:15:01 PM
He didn't put much into it if we consider his wealth and he didn't earn much. Just the thought that this man would be able to put in $10m and cash out $40m is filling me with sadness and it's possible it fills him with regret Tongue
If I had that much money, I'd be throwing thousands here and there for fun. I'd also buy pieces of land everywhere, because you never know if one day a big company won't decide to set up there or maybe they'll find oil or gas underneath.
4609  Other / Politics & Society / Re: INTRODUCING: THE PRIVACY PHONE on: June 13, 2017, 09:07:44 PM
Would you rather pay a lot of money to have a smartphone with kill switches, that you have to remember to switch every time you go out or decide to do something private Cheesy or just buy one of the older phones like these two:

No OS, basically unhackable, very cheap and reliable. Usually can stay on standby for a week without the need to charge. I had a number of Samsung S phones and they all needed a recharge every 24h - 48h.
4610  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Recommended wallet on: June 13, 2017, 08:52:44 PM
My recommendations are as follow:

Free choices:

1. If you have a big HDD or SSD preferrably 1TB or up definitely download bitcoin core, sync it with the network add a strong passphrase and this should be the most secure desktop wallet because of it downloading all the blockchain in your PC. You need to be safe to not get any virus or keylogger otherwise you are in risk of losing everything you have.
2. If yo don't have a big HDD or SSD download Electrum wallet, it is an SPV wallet and is also one of the most secure desktop wallets out there.
3. Any other wallet but download at your own risk, I only recommend the 2 above. This is just to add the third option.

Paying money choices:

Any hardware wallet like Trezor, Ledger, Keepkey etc.

Even if I had a lot of space to waste on my drives I wouldn't choose core because it loads to slow. I usually need my money fast, start up a PC, open wallet, send transaction, with a light and easy wallet lime multibit it's done in less than a minute. With core it takes 5 min for it to load up, another 10 to update to the latest chain... And that's when you update it daily! Who has time for that?
4611  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and the power of media on: June 13, 2017, 08:48:36 PM
The internet is a medium, so it includes almost every possible way the cryptos are promoted. It happens mainly because this is the money of the INternet, so both transactions and promotion is being done online. If you're asking about other ways of spreading the word, probably spoken word would be the second greatest. Gossip travels fast and a word from a friend, or even better a mentor, sinks deep.
4612  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is real freedom in your view? Are you getting it? on: June 13, 2017, 08:43:02 PM
Freedom is the absence of attachments, get up without an alarm clock and go to bed whenever you want, do what you like, when you want, lack of dependence or coercion from other people, knowledge of yourself and the world around you.
So true, this is what freedom is all about.
This is achievable once you reach financial freedom with a stable passive income or enough money to live comfortably for the rest of your life. With that the world oipens up to you. You can do what you want, buy all the things you need and never worry about anything, but maybe health.
4613  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Where would society be without the internet? on: June 13, 2017, 08:38:38 PM
As someone who has used typewriters in grade-school, I can assure you, a lot of things would be harder to do. For one thing, school research would be harder to do. I remember having to beg a neighbor to use their encyclopedia... Well at least we'd still use word processors. Having to white out errors on typewritten articles is hell.
Those were the times. I had so many books at home. I remember doing presentations for school and sitting on the floor surrounded by piles of books. I had to use the floor because it was impossible to keep them open on useful fragments all at once on my little desk. Later on, when I had the Internet I sold most of my books apart from stories and fiction, because i could find all useful information online and be able to copy or print it at will.
4614  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How could they have time to prepare Wtc7 to be pulled down? on: June 13, 2017, 08:33:15 PM
We have already proven that WTC 7 was an inside job.

1) The owner, Larry Silverstein (sp?) said on national television that they got everyone out of the building and then pulled it. As in they demoed it.

2) The BBC reported that WTC7 had collapsed 34 minutes before it happened. This proves foreknowledge of the event. In other words the talking heads were reading a script.

3) We have video evidence of the demolition.

What more do we need to prosecute these criminals? My only guess is that they are so high up that no one can touch them without going full out war.

News stations were on it since the beginning. It has been proven that the video of a plane hitting one of the towers has been rendered and after the hit you can see the nose of the plane coming out from the other side due to bad editing. Suddenly all stations shared the same edited image and were screaming about a plane hit.
A lot of things don't add up in 9.11 story. Even witnesses were fake, like that cab driver who allegedly saw the plane hitting Pentagon, who had a different story every year.
4615  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It cost me $2 + 12 hours to send $25 in BTC now on: June 13, 2017, 08:15:32 PM
I don't know in which mutli verse you are living in but the last time i checked the average transaction fee for ethereum was around $1.4 for each transaction. So it doesn't matter which coin you use, you will end up paying the same amount of fees
That's true fees are going up along with the price of the currency, it's natural. Bitcoin fees are going up too fast because of block size issues it's facing, but if this gets resolved we'll still be facing the problem of rising fees. It may take a year or two, but eventually we'll go back to >$1 fees.
Ether is being hyped now, but it's not better. People are putting money there to profit not because it's revolutionary.
4616  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is hoarding bitcoins good or bad for it's growth? on: June 13, 2017, 08:08:15 PM
I believe the market regulates itself, so no action taken by the majority is bad. It's just a step in the life of currency, its evolution.
If people decide to save up the demand will rise and holders will start selling and using it in stores, because they'll at some point decide they need some things and they can buy so much for a single coin. No need to worry Wink
4617  Economy / Speculation / Re: Would you get in now? current price approx 2700 on: June 12, 2017, 08:45:36 PM
I'm not buying, I have enough at the moment and I'm not much of a trader, but if you don't have any coins I recommend you to buy some.
That 1 BTC is still affordable to most people and can turn a 25% profit in a year. It's 20% more than a bank can offer you. There's also that nerdy factor that you're a part of the revolution. You can be holding a small part of the currency of the future Wink
4618  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase crashing due to dump? on: June 12, 2017, 08:42:51 PM
I have always trusted Coinbase, but this issue worries me.
There's too much interest in Bitcoin nowadays and not enough exchanges. Most of them are made to support certain number of logged clients and if that number doubles there's nothing they can do. This isn't bad for us clients, but also embarrassing for the exchange. I hope they will learn from this and invest in better servers.
4619  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to explain bitcoin to teenagers or children on: June 12, 2017, 08:36:14 PM
Don't explain, give and let them find out by themselves. People were doing similar projects in the past.
You giveaway a certain amount of Bitcoins to strangers in the street. If they want to claim they have to install a wallet and add a private key by themselves. It will require them to do some research, but the effort will be rewarded.

Wow.. This "people" surely have a lot of time to waste. You don't just ask people around to install this and that and most of them probably have something better to do. Unless you live in a place where everyone's broke but have smartphones, then this is a bad idea. Approaching strangers and asking them to do something is always a bad idea. Since we're in the digital world, they would think that you're scamming them or taking something from them or you're putting virus on their phone simply because everyone questions those that give something to people out of the blue.

I think it's probably only going to work in a first world country where a good percentage of people are open minded and actually have heard about bitcoin but simply don't use it.

Yes it was being done in first world countries. Several projects in NA and some in the EU.
This one is a good example, a treasure hunt in San Francisco.
https://99bitcoins.com/sf-hidden-bitcoin-san-francisco/

I wasn't thinking about third world countries. We want to make young people try it out and making such a treasure hunt is not very expensive for long time bitcoiners and can do wonders in terms of advertising.
4620  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin $3000 on: June 12, 2017, 08:33:04 PM
It's here.
No, until now bitcoin doesn't touch the 3000$, But it's too close to achieve this barrier. Maybe after few hours. I am so excited about this price. It's an unreal Cheesy
Dear bitcoin, Keep going to the moon please.
What are you talking about? Guys above you gave screenshots of the price touching $3000 for a short time.
Anyway, it doesn't matter if it did or didn't, what matters is that we are still in an uptrend and breaking ATH is a great confirmation of that. This means thatt we can expect another approach at ATH in a couple weeks.
