4621  Economy / Economics / Re: The Economic Pain Won't Stop on: March 30, 2020, 06:17:18 AM
So in your metaphor the "tickets" are the printed fiat money-USD and euro and the "seats" are the banks and corporations or maybe the industrial facilities.I've never seen someone to compare economy with theater.
According to Anatole Kaletsky, the debt creation and fiat money printing can continue forever and it can be considered the only economic "perpetuum mobile".The banks, markets and companies are addicted to debt and negative interest rates.Abandoning the current financial system will cause a financial Armageddon.I don't agree with fiat supporters like Kaletsky, but they are still very popular.
4622  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is why I sold my 0.67 BTC!! on: March 30, 2020, 05:53:45 AM
Hello Community! What’s going on? Hope you guys are safe & staying home! Basically, I live in New York (I’m an expatriate indeed) & you guys know the current situation!! We are suffering badly, although I’m not scared of! Last night I sold my loving 0.67 BTC, since I need cash money!
I believe, in near future when the situation will be normal, I’ll buy it again since I have no doubt on the future of BTC & its use case! Please guys, stay home stay safe & don't forget to pray for us.

0.67 BTC is less than 4200 USD.How long will you survive with such money in a city like New York?
One month I guess. This pandemic is just starting in the US and New York is the epicenter of it.
The lockdowns in New York will continue until June and this is the optimistic case scenario.
I hope that all the people in New York will stay at their homes and follow the rules of the quarantine.
Stay safe now,Bitcoin will become important later.
4623  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many people here would choose bitcoin as their form of payment? on: March 30, 2020, 05:32:45 AM
Right now,100% of my income is paid in BTC.I wouldn't divide it 50/50 or 60/40.I would only sell BTC for fiat if it's 100% necessary to pay for some food or bills.I have enough fiat savings to survive for 7-8 months.
Be careful when buying undervalued stocks. Some companies might not survive the crisis and their stocks might go into the trash.I've never used Bitwage and most likely I never will. It's more convenient for me to just sell a portion of BTC to fiat, instead of using a third party service I don't trust.
4624  Economy / Speculation / Re: Three economic signals that indicate that Bitcoin will see an increase on: March 29, 2020, 12:04:05 PM
The stock market hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing over the last little while with swings of more than 1,000 points. This volatility is pushing investors to look for other places to put their money. This could mean big things for Bitcoin shortly.

Here are three economic signals that indicate that Bitcoin will see an increase: https://itsblockchain.com/bitcoin-eoconomic/

Do you think that volatility in the stock market will push investors into Bitcoins' open arms?

So the investors will move away from stocks, because of their volatility, and buy Bitcoin, which is even more volatile than stocks?Pretty stupid logic,if you ask me.
This is some bullish analysis that servers more as a propaganda and building optimism and confidence among the crypto traders, rather than an actual analysis.
Saying that weakening the global economy, increasing unemployment and decreasing mortgages is a good sign for Bitcoin seems like a completely wrong conclusion.
4625  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best ways of making BTC Not trackable on: March 29, 2020, 11:36:19 AM
Hello,

I usually get this question of people wanting to anonymize their BTC.

To this, the answer is one of the 2 methods :

1) use BTC mixer such as WASABI
But there are talks about people getting involved in illegal things just because their BTC were mixed with illegal related BTC.

2) send your BTC to an exchange like bitbox, kucoin, huobi ... then buy monero, send them to another exchange like  bitbox, kucoin, huobi ... and buy back BTC
But what if those exchange are linked together so that monero transaction between two of them will be identified.

Are there other methods? what is the best method between the two above?

Thanks

1.Use mixers at your own risk.I would never use a Bitcoin mixer service. Many people were scammed by mixers.
2.Avoid crypto exchange platforms,if you want to stay anonymous. You can use this forum. It has a currency trading sub-forum.
3.Use multiple BTC addresses and a different address for every transaction.Don't use one BTC address for multiple transactions.

Those tips are about Bitcoin only.If you want to buy Monero, just do it.I'm not a expert in regards to anonymity, but whatever you do online, you just can't be 100% anonymous.

4626  Economy / Economics / Re: Bank's loss crypto's gain? on: March 29, 2020, 06:33:49 AM
Apart from the corona if you look at other world affairs banks going bankrupt is common, in countries like India due to waiver of bad loan banks are losing it's reputation and had to be merged with other banks and set a limit for withdrawal, same goes with Lebanon as well. As per one of the source the banks in Lebanon have only 1/4th the about deposited by civilians which is enforcing them to set a weekly limit for withdrawal until they find a way out. If this continues then people will stop trusting banks and turn towards crypto as a form of digital banks.

Kindly share your opinions?

I'm sure that India and Lebanon have central banks, that will try to save their banks,if they fail to save the banks, there will be bankrupts. However, the disaster inside the fiat financial system won't lead more people into using cryptocurrencies. If a bank goes bankrupt, all the people who have deposited money there will lose their savings,so they won't have the money to buy cryptocurrencies.
Many merchants still aren't accepting cryptocurrency payments for foods and remedies(which are the most important good in a crisis). What's the point of buying crypto coins,if we can't use those coins to purchase food and remedies?
4627  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Now is a good time on: March 29, 2020, 06:13:34 AM
Let's be honest here, Covid-19 has brought about a lot of changes which includes quarantine. And there's one thing I'm sure of; one of the people to make gain in this season are our service providers. I mean, everyone stays at home and there's probably an 80% probability that they would spend more time on the internet. Now, let's also think of this; don't you think that this is a good time to promote btc (online)? Imagine, most people presently are off their work desk and are surfing the net. I really think that this is a good time to promote btc online. If people hear more about it, it'll keep brightening the future of btc.
I have two questions for you. What have always hindered you from reaching out to people (online) and 2, would you agree with me and support the promotion of bitcoin in this season??

They are spending more time watching their Instagram/Facebook feeds or watching some Youtube videos.
If you really want to promote something, you have to get their attention.Internet marketing, and promotion in general, are the battle for getting people's attention. If you don't have a plan how to get their attention, your promotion won't work.Just saying "Hey,let's spam my social media followers with some boring info about Bitcoin and blockchain technology!" simply won't work.
People are usually interested by the same old BS-movies,TV shows, news(only about the coronavirus currently),games, gossips, even porn...
How can you pull their interest out of those BS topics into Bitcoin?
4628  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: convert bitcoin address to ethereum address on: March 29, 2020, 05:38:06 AM
What is the essence of going through this process when you can easily have both within a snap of the finger, and how are you sure this is a very secure thing to do, remember this is your funds you are playing with,
I don't think I would want to try any of it out, creating both btc and eth wallet is free, there is no need for me to want to be smart and probably ended up regretting it, @op, hope you know what you are doing or the consequences if anything happens.

You are right. This is most likely some scam that targets cryptocurrency noobs, who think that this service might be convenient.I think that the users will "convert" their Bitcoin addresses into ethereum addresses that belong to the owner of this scam.Never give your private keys to any website or any person. The fact that there's some pseudo-technical information on that website, telling you that your private keys are safe is kinda disturbing as well.
4629  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Easy Portfolio Management for Trading Cryptocurrency on: March 28, 2020, 12:45:57 PM
Maintaining a cryptocurrency portfolio seems kinda pointless to me,if we consider the current situation on the markets.
All the altcoins are about to go down.I portfolio is useful only if there isn't a direct correlation between the price patterns of most coins. The main purpose of a portfolio is to diversify the risk and lower the average price volatility of the assets that you are trading.
I don't see this happening right now,if you hold 100 altcoins in a portfolio and they are all falling by 20-30%.
I've heard about this shimpy.io blog before. Some people were promoting it on the forum, but I don't click on such links, because my PC got infected by a trojan, while visiting a crypto blog once.
4630  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC HODLers are getting all the new technologies for free! Why? on: March 28, 2020, 12:20:38 PM
Look at Ethereum. They implemented smart contract using which new tokens could be issued. Now, BTC fork BCH has Simple Ledger Protocol, using which one can do the same. BTC HODLers got it for free.

Look at Grin. They implemented MimbleWimble protocol for privacy. Now, BTC airdrop MWC has implemented the same. BTC HODLers got it for free.

Look at BAT. They implemented in-browser ad through Brave browser and rewarded end user. Now, BTC airdrop CPD Token is going to do the same through CPD Browser. BTC HODLers got it for free.

If every new tech in crypto field goes to BTC HODLers for free, why would people invest in new tech?

I don't get the point of this thread.Do you mean that people(including BTC HODLers) should pay for those implementations?
This is open source protocol. It's free to use and edit the source code.If all those "revolutionary" altcoin projects wanted to have any competitive advantage over Bitcoin, they would just patent everything and dump open source code.I guess that,in the crypto world, open source is a must and nobody would ever trust come "closed source" crypto project.
4631  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin fall on: March 28, 2020, 06:42:36 AM
What does you guys thinking about the bitcoin fall because of the CORONA Viruses catastrophe? Will bitcoin fall to $3000 in this year of 2020? And what's about the halving?.

I'm reading a Cointelegraph article now and most of the crypto trading experts are extremely bearish. They are predicting a $3000 price bottom for Bitcoin and a bloodbath in the altcoin market. The recent price recovery from 5K USD to 6,6K USD is a bull trap and the price will continue with the downfall.
The halving doesn't matter. If there wasn't a global recession, the halving might have pumped the BTC price a little bit(because of the hype),but now,I don't see such price pump coming.
4632  Economy / Economics / Re: We are about to see the monetary power of the U.S. government on: March 28, 2020, 06:35:24 AM
Expect a price jump when stimulus checks start rolling in. I know I'm personally buying some crypto anyone else feel the same way?

So we all have to rely on the mercy of the Federal reserve to print some money and  pump the price of Bitcoin? Grin
I thought that Bitcoin is supposed to be independent from any central bank in the world. This is what Satoshi Nakamoto told us,but now 90% of all Bitcoin users only care about the BTC price(which is normal, but sometimes it looks absurd to me).
The stimulus package might pump the BTC price, but probably after a year or two.The global economy has to recover from the lockdowns first.
4633  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Face Lift for Cryptowisser.com! (Feedback Wanted) on: March 28, 2020, 06:14:57 AM
Hi guys,

Just wanted to let you know that Cryptowisser.com has undergone a major face lift. We have added new functionality, new information sectors, and we now kindly ask you to let us know what we can do better.

Here we are: https://www.cryptowisser.com/

Do you like the new site? If you are familiar with the old site, did you like that one better? Sad

Looking forward to your feedback! Thanks!

All the best,
Cryptowisser

I've never heard about those 5 crypo exchange platforms in your list and I assume that you are promoting them. When I head over of the "Visit" button on the right side of your website,It seems to me that the buttons are pointing to some affiliate/referral links. It's OK to promote affiliate links, but why don't you disclose the fact that you are using such links?
The "reviews" and votes for those websites seem not real to me.I guess you want to drive some traffic and clicks to those links.
The website looks great.Keep it up with the good work and add more crypto exchange platforms
4634  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do Holders actually bought BTC during the crash? on: March 27, 2020, 12:29:37 PM
The only people, who bought Bitcoins during the price crash are the HODLers(some of those HODLers might be crypto whales).
There are no crypto newbies and no institutional investors, that will take the risk and decide to buy Bitcoin in a situation like that. This research kinda answers a rhetorical question, therefore it's useless.
However,I love statistics. This is some great statistical data provided by Glassnode.
I should pay more attention to that service and take a closer look at their on-chain market intelligence studies.
4635  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gold quickly becoming more scarce. Which will be worth more, Bitcoin or Gold? on: March 27, 2020, 12:18:57 PM
The gold prices are manipulated by the US federal reserve system for decades. The real price of gold is actually higher.
The Americans wanted to keep the gold price low, because if it gets more expensive, more countries in the world will buy more gold to backup their national currencies and stop using US dollars as a reserve currency.
I hope that both Bitcoin Core and Gold will become way more valuable during the summer, but I'm not quite sure about Bitcoin.

We haven't realised that total supply of gold yet. Though gold is mined in finite numbers of mines, new gold mines are found every now and than. And the supply could be much more larger than we might be thinking. While on the other hand, Bitcoin would never reach 21 million in supply.

It is considered by some scientists that more than 75% of the gold on the planet Earth has already been mined. This information is debatable,if you ask me.
4636  Economy / Economics / Re: How long this crisis will be? on: March 27, 2020, 06:21:51 AM
I haven't seen the video, but the last pandemic we have is the "Spanish" flu in 1918 that killed a lot of people back then. I don't think it will be uglier though, we have vastly improved since the last great pandemic.

So I'm hoping that in the next 3-6 months, a vaccine can be discovered to stop this madness. As of right now, self quarantine is not enough, the number of infected are growing.

A good visual, trajectory of every country here: https://www.visualcapitalist.com/infection-trajectory-flattening-the-covid19-curve/

3-6 months is an impossible time frame for creating such vaccine. The process takes more than one year.
Self quarantine IS enough,if all the people are disciplined and are actually abiding by the rules of the quarantine, which isn't the case in some countries. The "shit will hit the fan" in the USA and UK soon, which will drive a huge global recession.Comparing this pandemic with the "Spanish flu" is completely wrong.Back in 1919,the world was recovering from WW1,the countries weren't prepared for a pandemic and the hygiene of the population was horrible.
4637  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Privacy in Bitcoin on: March 27, 2020, 06:04:09 AM
Bitcoin transactions are transparent to all users while providing some sort of privacy because it's no easy to know which address belongs to who unless they let you know or that person involved in KYC which was not aimed. Blockchain aimed  to go anonymous so people would have freedom financially
Privacy provides freedom, but Countries citizen fight against freedom of speech and forgot that speech will not give wealth financially, We Are and must fight against financial freedom in a modern way as Blockchain do until we all involve in Bitcoin and general cryptocurrencies.

OP,you want us to fight AGAINST financial freedom,or you want us to fight FOR financial freedom? Grin
I'm confused.Your thread doesn't add something new to the conversation. It's just random preaching.

You can always use a mixer to increase privacy. Use your bitcoin addresses only once too.

I agree with the second part(using multiple addresses),but I can't agree with using mixers.
I think that CIA is currently spying BTC mixers and some BTC mixers are scamming their users.

Try to use monero if you want real privacy. And there are others privacy projects with better than btc privacy too

I wonder why monero  isn't bigger than Bitcoin,in terms of price, global market cap and the amount of active users. If everyone in the crypto world wants complete privacy, why aren't people using monero instead of Bitcoin?
4638  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Japanese people, here they come on: March 27, 2020, 05:51:36 AM
Quote
Bitcoin not Safu haven, but People Seem to not Mind that

Not to promote this source bitbank, but according to them, the bloodbath or the recent bitcoin decline seem to be an opportunity for Japanese people to accumulate or buy more bitcoins. That is based from the number of people registering new accounts on the Japanese crypto exchange which is the bitbank.

Imagine, a 40 percent spike for the number of people is quite huge and KYC doesn't restrict that to happen. What does that mean?

For me, I know Japanese people's actions are so absolute and precise, they have huge discipline in many aspects that they take  and with regards to the recent market decline, I believe that they know what they are doing, and with that, accumulation of huge amount of cyptocurrency would be advisable for us to consider.

It's good to know that many Japanese people continue to believe in the power of Bitcoin, despite the crisis.
Perhaps the Bitcoin price recovered from 5K USD to 6,6K USD mostly because of the buyers from Japan.
We can't say the same thing about westerners. They keep BTC as long as they have profits. If the profits are gone, the westerners are gone too.The eastern mentality is more patient and resilient.
Anyway,I think that this article is advertising Bitbank.I've never heard anything about this exchange,so use it with caution.
4639  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Logo: #90 on Fortune's top 100 greatest designs on: March 26, 2020, 01:12:46 PM
Ranking logos is stupid. There's no objective criteria to rank logo designs(or any other form of art).
Some people like a particular design, while other people hate it.I hate the Apple,Macintosh and Google logos, but they are on the first 3 spots. That's because Apple has millions of fanatic die hard fans.
The Bitcoin Core logo is way better than those three logos.Even the ethereum logo is better. Grin
Well,I guess that this "Top 100 greatest designs" list is really biased.
4640  Other / Politics & Society / Re: This Is Our Last Chance to Protect Our Privacy Amid the COVID-19 Crisis on: March 26, 2020, 12:45:09 PM
"When governments seize emergency powers, they never give them up. Under the pretext of monitoring and tracking the spread of the disease, government mass surveillance via mobile phone tracking risks becoming normalized. Algorithmic bias now goes beyond academic studies as opaque algorithms can and will decide who can travel and work in places like China, and will no doubt soon decide who lives and who dies from the virus. Is this the world we want our children to inherit?"

https://cointelegraph.com/news/this-is-our-last-chance-to-protect-our-privacy-amid-the-covid-19-crisis

Tracking the location of your mobile device isn't dangerous for anyone.Hacking everyone's mobile device and gathering access to all the information and applications inside is the real danger here(and I doubt that it might happen).
Countries with a long democratic history in the western world can't turn into dictatorships that easy.
High tech solutions and algorithms can help for some aspects of the pandemic, but they are not a panacea.
By the way, mobile device tracking isn't effective at all.I don't ware my mobile device all the time.
If I leave my device at home, nobody can track my real location.
