Never keep your "coins" in an exchange, this is the first rule. However we should wait news from them, I don't think they has been hacked.
4663  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why I believe bitcoin will never reach 1 million per coin on: February 15, 2015, 10:54:12 AM
Maybe they will not convert them for FIAT, they can able also to spend their bitcoins directly.
4664  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Greece: Greenspan predicts exit from euro inevitable on: February 15, 2015, 10:41:11 AM
I think they will not leave EU. Becouse it will be a collapse for a european union. It's same like one of the American states would leave USA. EU counsil will not allow that.
they can remain in the eu without being in the euro

Of course they can leave the Euro but when T was saying he was for a greexit a few years ago, now he is not talking about it. He is waiting for the last minute because he thinks time plays for him.

At the end a lot of people changed their mind, I hope all this situation will be resolved quickly.
4665  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Canada to send money, radar satellite images to Ukraine on: February 15, 2015, 08:59:08 AM
Canada was one of the 3 countries (incl USA and Ukraine) to vote AGAINST the anti-Nazi U.N. resolution a few months back.   That should tell you everything you need to know about Canada.   Also, Israel has our undying support, Harper pledged Canada's support "no matter what", while Israel was threatening to nuke Iran.

We are smaller and far less significant, but in many ways much more hawkish than our neighbours to the south.

Ouch! Canadians could be on the radar of terrorists everywhere.

I don't know if the terrorists will "attack" Canada (I hope not). Do you think it will be a sort of coalition between russia and the terrorists?
4666  Economy / Exchanges / Re: WARNING! 40 000 USD was stolen fom BTC-e.com account! on: February 15, 2015, 08:15:39 AM
There is a trend here from 'hacked accounts' gambling site stole money cheated etc if they was true they would be very welcome but chances are they are not.

Always newbie accounts and that makes me take little no notice anymore, unlucky on losing that amount of money if i am wrong and you actually did however 'doubtful' but you deserved it keeping that amount of money on an exchange with no 2fa in the first place.

lol

At the end it is his fault at 99% , because he didn't set up the 2FA on his btc-e account. Now the unique way is to contact the support and his police station.

I'd say more like 100% his fault. The best part is that because he didn't have 2FA enabled it is pretty much impossible to ascertain how much of his system/accounts are compromised. If he had bothered to use 2FA and this actually happened then he could be certain that 2FA was hacked (meaning his entire system is compromised).

Without 2FA he is going to have to get some scooby snacks and hire a crew of hippies to drive around the internet in a van looking for the criminal. Good luck with that.

No no, he was wrong because he didn't set up the 2FA but he was also unfortunately unlucky. The first thing that I do when I register in a site it is to check if "they" are using the 2FA , and then set up it.

Sending PM disabled for new users unless you have reached a few days of activity with a few posts on the board could help to avoid this kind of scam trial

+1

A sort of newbie jail can help to avoid this type of situation, here more info :

I believe we used to have something of a newbie jail in place, at least when I signed up. I remember being stuck to the newbie section for my first few posts, and then being let to post in the rest of the forums after I hit x posts, or x activity. Would be nice to have that back in place as it sounds like they got rid of it.

I also remember the "newbie jail" , when I was registered in this forum I had to wait  ~2 hours and post in a determinate section before be "free" to post in the other forum boards.

4673  Other / Meta / Re: Reporting posts on: February 14, 2015, 05:56:04 PM
It's also possible (though rare) for a report to be marked as neither good nor bad -- such reports don't count toward your accuracy percentage.

The only way it would be 'neutral' is if every mod 'ignored' it.

If the staff member don't check the "report" it will stay neutral and your accuracy will not change.

So theymos is just telling that reports will stay neutral if it isn't handled/skipped instead of reports marked as neutral. Remember, the neutral I am telling isn't about unhandled reports.

   -MZ

For hilariousandco and me neutral means unhandled, however I think it is easy to implement this type of report stats.

I am in confusion now. Can anybody explain please? Thanks!

it will be helpful for you, if you want to try use a vps ( 20-40 GB of hardisk minimum , because the blockchain is "large").
this is exactly why i am using lightweight wallet electrum. because i dont want 30 GB of my precious hard drive go to waste!

You will not waste your HDD space, if you set up a bitcoin node you will help alot the bitcoin network (the late of decentralization).

Blockchain file is about 31GB as far as I know , and it's not a small size as before (the second link you posted says he bought Cloud server with 20 GB ) which is not enough if he wants to run one now . So basically you should consider buying something with 40GB +

~ Madness

Oh yes, the second link is a thread of "November 13, 2013". However I  told 20-40 gb (see the bold part) but you are right the bitcoin blockchain is more than 30 Gb (at the moment).
4678  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is your price ? on: February 14, 2015, 02:33:27 PM
I will never sell my bitcoin.

Most of people says that but ...
You shouldn't  be that sure , I mean Bitcoin can die at any moment and I don't think you will buy some popcorn and watch the price going down and losing money . you should sell it at some point I guess
But if someone was sure that Bitcoin will never die , on that case he won't sell yes .

~ Madness

No this is wrong for alot of people including myself, we have brought what we can afford to lose and believe in it so will never sell means all the way up and all the way down to me anyway.

If i lose i will lose it all but i only lose if i sell so i will never sell just keep buying because BTC will not die and one day you will buy everything you need with it, don't sell after buying if you believe in the longterm unless you are shorting when/if the time comes.

The bitcoin as coin can die, but the blockchain (as technology) will stay for sure. No one from us know if in the next 10-15 years another "mysterious" person will create a new "coin" much better than actual.
