4681  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Work in progess] Burnins Avalon Chip to mining board service on: April 25, 2013, 11:50:10 AM

For all the people with large number of chips, the most feasible option would be a double density board with 20 Chips at about 100eur.
Even larger boards would pose problems that I don't want to face, doing such a time-constrained project.

I don't want to burden you burnin since i know you have a lot of work to do, but please have in mind posting some pros and cons with the double density boards.(not now, but when you are ready to take orders)
4682  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 25, 2013, 11:24:12 AM
Ok, today I met orsoc CEO Johan personally and I can confirm 100% this is not a scam

He is interested in bitcoin and knows a lot about it. He acknowledged that they have been discussing this product offering with kncminer for weeks and there will be news published later this week

They will have a more concrete technical specification for the product soon

So you saw their hardware design already, their office, their detailed specs and the previous bitcoin hardware they have already made?
Or was he just some convincing random guy you happened to meet? Tongue

You think Apple CEO would show you any hardware designs or their offices if you ask (my company doesn't let any external person to enter the office, we have external meeting rooms)?
But if you google the company name and his name I'm sure you'll find pictures of both himself as well as previous products the last 5-10 years. Wink

First of all Apple doesn't have to proove anything. knc has. Second they could at least tell "hey we are using XX nm tech" I don't think that would ruin anything considering we already have asics at 130nm, 110nm, 65nm, 22nm(?).
4683  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DIY PCB with AVALON - [OP Makeover - Forming List of Developers] on: April 22, 2013, 09:18:55 PM
I would be pleased if anyone could make detailed pictures of the avalon board with the asics, power stages, etc.

I would like to start developing as soon as possible.

Regards

Knecke

4684  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Buying BFL debt. $0.10 per dollar owed. on: April 21, 2013, 10:35:25 AM
I never made a wager that threatened suicide.  Please provide evidence that I made such a wager.

https://forums.butterflylabs.com/bfl-forum-miscellaneous/632-getting-ready-april.html#post9395

Cue bitching that this is not a wager.

A) It's not a wager
B) The probability turned out to be zero, so even if it were a wager, it didn't happen.

So you perpetuated a lie.  Thanks for confirming proving my point.

What about the 1000BTC wager? Or will you find another meaning to the words you said in order to avoid paying?
4685  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Buying BFL debt. $0.10 per dollar owed. on: April 20, 2013, 11:54:10 AM
Sure, I'll address the rest of the post just as soon as you back up your bullshit with a 500 BTC.  You claim BFL is a scam and that we will never ship a product.  I claim that BFL is not a scam and will ship a product. I am willing to escrow 500 BTC for my claim.  You escrow 500 BTC for your claim and we can move on to whether or not we'll bet on your ludicrous caveats.

My guess is that you'll just Micon-out of the bet, because, just like Bryan Micon, you are a lying piece of shit and you are unwilling to back up your claims...  You and Bryan Micon love to make all these grand pronouncements until someone calls you on it, then you deflect and hem and haw and try to weasel your way out of it.

So until you back up your statement that "BFL is a ponzi scheme, an obvious scam" and "I do not believe my orders will be fulfilled" we have nothing to discuss other than what an idiot you are.  In fact, how about this... you want to hedge your orders.  I will bet you the full amount you paid in BTC for your orders from BFL that your orders will be fulfilled.  If you'd rather just do the USD value, I will take that bet as well.  You escrow the BTC,  I will escrow the BTC and when your order(s) are fulfilled you lose the bet.  If your orders aren't fulfilled, you win the bet and you get back your BTC (or USD value equivalent if you prefer) - so you're 100% hedged against your losses, since you're positive BFL is a scam and you'll never see your orders.

That's what you're hoping to accomplish with this ridiculous thread, right?  That's what you CLAIM.  If that's the case, then this wager is a no brainer.  Unless... you are lying?

Did you pay the 1000BTC for charity yes Inaba?

Those who are PMing, what part of the OP do you not understand:

Quote
Ordering will be done NGZhang style - via Email.

I saw nowhere in the OP where burnin posted his email address....  And nobody else is posting their orders in this thread.  So please feel free to let me know how else I'm supposed to let burnin know that I'd like him to assemble the chips I ordered into his units?

I think OP said that he will allow orders once he has all the info he needs and he knows exactly the price.
4688  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Work in progess] Burnins Avalon Chip to mining board service on: April 18, 2013, 11:17:48 PM
I would like to suggest that in addition to a barrel jack and 6-pin PCI-e Mini-Fit Jr power connector, that the board also have connectors to accept 12V power from a 4-pin Molex, and also from a SATA-style power connector.
Heck, add in some screw terminals too.
Also, an on-board header to power a fan would be a nice touch.  Software-controlled fanspeed would be even nicer.

There will be a temperature controlled Fan header.
As for power connectors: adding all kinds of connectors would increase board size disproportionately.

Host software will be cgminer, it will appear like an orignal avalon to it.
But since it will be opensource and the firmware will be upgradeable via USB it is possible to run your own protocol/host-application.

burnin please have in mind 2 powering solutions(if possible): first one for a 1-3 boards and the second one for 10+ boards(stacking). I remember a pic from ngzhang that had 10+ stacks of Lancelot units and a ton of cables and adaptors. I bet people would love powering a stack of boards with one single PSU.
4689  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Work in progess] Burnins Avalon Chip to mining board service on: April 18, 2013, 06:41:48 PM
Will you provide some kind of PSU at cost or at least some recommended models? Is there an easier way to power these boards that are stacked besides having one PSU for every board?

zefir could you get in touch with Avalon team and ask them if the second batch of chips will only be a few days away or it will take more?
4692  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MTGOX Withdrawal expectation on: April 17, 2013, 08:00:50 PM
MtGox informed me that they hit their daily limit on their EUR account for withdrawal. I'm waiting for over 2 weeks now. Guess next time will use the USD account. That doesn't seem to have problems with that.Anyway MtGox gets a black ball from me for this. We need more exchangers!
4693  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 15, 2013, 04:31:20 PM
Yes there are some facts that he can disclose without promising anything. I don't understand why they can't tell us anything about the chip or technology or investors?
4694  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 11, 2013, 01:25:45 PM
Just gave their number a call and spoke with Andreas.

Having worked in Sweden a lot Andreas is definitely a Swede and definitely picked up the phone and had a conversation with me Smiley

SO I am pretty happy that these guys are genuinely who they say they are. The proof will be a demo of an ASIC machine. This will be provided as and when they have it. They are not promising anything as of yet and holding back specification until the development is more concrete.

Watch this space I guess!

no offense but i don't buy this. you just created this user and you are implying that only after one phone call they are a legit ASIC business? why didn't you asked some technical questions. they should know the fab, the process node and some other stuff. you just spoke with one person on the phone. BFL has offices, has boxes full of fans and they even "shipped" some kind of FPGA shit that they called ASIC, but that doesn't prove anything.
4695  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 11, 2013, 12:07:35 PM
kncminer you could at least give us some tech details. what nm are you using? what fab is making your chips? who is writing the software?
4696  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 10, 2013, 08:38:58 AM
kncminer maybe answer our questions?

Hi All,

We have been busy which is why you have not heard from us, I will try to answer some quick questions.

First the PayPal vs BTC question.

   We will accept both!

Second hardware spec’s

You are all correct we will publish stats on working prototypes with clear and unquestionable evidence (Video/ photograph/youtube/ newspaper reviews/personal checks) that we have working products. We will first publish this to the people who have registered on our site. They and only they (who have registered before publication date) will be given the ability to complete their preorders. Devices will then ship in the weeks after as they are made tested and sent.

For other questions and ones that I have failed to answer form the forum

We have started to add an FAQ to our site. We will build on that with the repeat questions we receive.  If I have not returned a personal response to your question look at our site first If you have a genuine question (we do get quite a few which are very strange) we will do our best to either publish the answer on our FAQ or reply to you directly

Sam

thank you. and i hope you understand the skepticism after so many scams and after BFL failed so hard. as long as you won't accept money without showing hard proof we are fine and i wish you good luck bringing the second public ASIC on the market.
4697  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Are the avalon asics legit? on: April 09, 2013, 04:33:05 PM
BTCBUDDY1 please do a little research before posting useless threads. a simple look through the Custom hardware forum would give you the answer. here i will make it easy for you: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=140539.0

they actually shipped full batch 1 aka 300 units.
