4681  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESPN Global to launch The Future of E-sports: Online Gaming + Blockchain on: July 30, 2020, 11:38:06 PM
I really find it great that the gaming industry is now showing attention to blockchain and also starting to adopt it in the industry, as well as cryptocurrency. Online gaming is becoming more popular in the current generation and with this opportunity, I think it will give blockchain and crypto a little bit of spotlight for mass adoption.

That is also my initial thought when I read the news, some spotlight again and then the effects will be felt later.

I don't want to sound bad but it sounds too ambitious, I doubt the value is going to increase when all of the losses are given back through airdrops. There's way too many incentives and it could bring the price down very fast since altcoins usually don't have a lot of trading volume. Then the announcement of a new platform at the end for the game developers, it's going to take a lot of time before they could get the attention of most game developers since there's already enough platforms to choose from (steam, epic, etc)

They are already a big company to begin with, so taking big risk and being ambitious is already ingrain with their business principles. And I think that's one of their goals, to compete with steam and epic and make it more competitive.

Probably ESPN will come up with their new lauch soon, and further it'll make them have their own native tokens for gaming purpose. This is a good start for the blockchain technology getting widened on the media platform associated with sports and gaming. Already we've got P2P and so many other gaming access online. Here the winning rewards for membership will play a big role.

That is one possibility, so we will have to see. If they become successful, this could be a good option in the horizon for them.

Nice, good job for ESPN. It's a known sports company that's mainly focusing in sports. The recognition for esports is already a big thing for the esports community. And with the integration of it through blockchain, they even made it better.
Sponsors are coming for sure just like the traditional sports setup but for us esports fans, they just made it better and a dream come true for gamers.

Maybe because e-sports is really taking a lot of notice in the last two years. Now it's just a niche, but ESPN entering the picture will give it more boost, win-win situation for us and for ESPN.
4682  Economy / Speculation / Re: Next Bitcoin Bull Run Will Be ‘Dramatically Different’ on: July 30, 2020, 11:07:23 PM
Considering how the crypto market is growing, the bull run of Bitcoin will not be as the same as 2017. Personally, I don't really see a bull run of Bitcoin like 2017. Looking at the Bitcoin market from 2018 to now, the bull run will be like a 10% increase in the previous market value of Bitcoin and the market might drop in few days after the rise.  I don't think there will be any dramatic different as stated by Winklevoss Twin in as much that there are more capital, infrastructure and better projects.  People have learnt to understand the bitcoin market. Due to that, the next bull run of  Bitcoin will not be significantly huge as before.

It could be true, but remember that the market is a boom and bust cycle. So those who got REKT in 2017 might have learn their expensive lesson, but there are going to be a set of new investors, who didn't study the market well but just jump on the hype train similar to 2017. And how many of us believed that there is a 4 year cycle here?

So it's going to be cyclical, there are going to be new investors that are willing to enter the market even if we are already in the parabolic rise, so I don't believed that there will be something 'dramatically different' in the next bubble.
4683  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitfinex hacks BTC are on the moved on: July 28, 2020, 10:34:47 PM
Worth the wait for them to make use of the stolen funds when the market gets better and the price improves. Seem not a hacker that will spend their loot right there and then after looting, this eans they have some funds before the hack.

Would they be able to clean it when it gets into a dex like bisq or blocknet by buying altcoins and sent it out to the centralized exchange?

I don't think that this hackers are going to used CEX though, they have waited long enough, maybe study how they are going to move and hide their footprints, but definitely, going on a centralised exchange is the last thing that this cyber criminals will do.

There are options for them, bitcoin mixer, conjoin such as Wasabi, that was reported being used by the twitter hacker.
4684  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Digitalbits team fraudulent Bounty Payment on: July 28, 2020, 07:15:44 AM
I'm sorry but the community can't intervened on this case as obviously, this is not an arbitrary body.

You are not the first case and definitely not the one to really complain about a projects non bounty payments. We know your sentiments and we truly understand that, and we really hate scammers taking advantage of people around. But again, our hands are tied, maybe someone will red tag if there is an associated account with this project, but they don't care. Let this be a lesson for you and other bounty hunters still around. There is a huge risk promoting this kind of projects.

4686  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Investors Rejoice As Bitcoin Price Surges Above $10,000 on: July 27, 2020, 10:19:22 PM
What's there to rejoice about? What about those who invested when Bitcoin was at 19000$ in 2017? It's not time to start rejoicing yet, right now we need better an stronger market support, DeFi success I believe is at work here, new money flow into crypto through DeFi, I'm hoping more will come

I will assume that those who have invested when the price is at all time high have exiting already in 2018 and accept the fact that they have been REKT. And I'm sure they've learned their lessons because we are already in the bubble that time and most of the are noobs, irrational buyers who think that the price will go on parabolic rise.

Price sits around $11,200 already, so it's normal for investors to rejoice somewhat as in the last 5 months, we have seen the price going as low as $3800 and calling that bitcoin is going to crashed. But look at how it quickly bounce.

But I do agree that DeFi really brought tons of money in the market, MakerDao alone becomes the first DeFi protocol to hit a astonishing $1 billion in total locked funds.

4687  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Investors Rejoice As Bitcoin Price Surges Above $10,000 on: July 27, 2020, 09:46:51 PM
Personally, I think the big barrier is $10,500 but since we have broken it already, this bull run might continue and hit $11k or even $12k. This is the break out run that we have been waiting for many months now so let's see how far this run can go.

After three years of a prolonged bear market it is good to see more money coming into Bitcoin now and also if you check the over all market cap for Crypto has also grown as well. In the last month or so over 50 billion entered the crypto markets and of course a lot of that now is going into Bitcoin, both from retail investors and speculators and also from big companies like Grayscale who are buying up all the new BTC being mined. I also believe this bull market will last for over a year and will run longer than the previous one.

But year-to-year bitcoin has perform better in the bear market, not even the pandemic scare put a damp on the market. Yes, we have seen lower lows during the scare, but we already bounce back and now hitting another higher highs for this year. But it is still a long way to go before new all time high, not seeing it this year.
4688  Economy / Speculation / Re: When we will see $12k Bitcoin once again? on: July 27, 2020, 12:45:26 PM
I quite believe that when the price of bitcoin reaches $ 10k, there will be higher price speculation. Well, I also expect that and hope this year even reaches a price higher than $ 13500. however, bitcoin has just reached the price of $ 10k, so we need to see the developments that occur. if the pattern of rising prices goes up continuously, I feel that we will not wait a long time to see the price of $ 12k.

Obviously, we are going to target higher price once we get over the hump of $10k and was able to sustain it for long term. We won't see a parabolic rise, we need some healthy corrections unless we are really in a bull run like 2017, but we are still far from it.

The volume though is a good indicator, when we are trading sideways, I can see around $12-13 billion, but it seems that with the dramatic rise, the volume double as well. So let's see if we can maintain the price above $10k and hit $10,500 and then we can talk about $12k or even higher next quarter.
4689  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Gas fees too high on: July 27, 2020, 11:28:45 AM
This is the result of Eth having it's own bull run that's why the gas price is really peaking as well. I also remember that there is a record high of Eth wallets in the last couple of days, so for sure it added to this whole "mess" of clogging the network and then we have the Defi hype, Eth 2.0 on the horizon.

Maybe this thread can help you out:

https://ethgasstation.info/

If you don't want to pay high gas fees, then maybe you need to wait a little bit and see when it settles down.
4690  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Junior [PPV on Nov. 28] on: July 27, 2020, 10:44:00 AM

, "“I am going to give 100% of Mike Tyson in the ring … I don't know how Roy is going to deal with that.”
Source: ESPN

GB.

If he gave 100%, then we might see a knockout win with that?
I am not expecting, both of them can hype the fight, that's the way to sell the PPV but the actual fight would surely be not as what we are expecting.

Not the way we would expect it to be knowing how much they aged now. Its just about making them last up to 12 rounds only to show the public how they are now. Making the PPV worth the pay for this historical event.

Its not like how they are back in the days where they can throw a combo without dislocating thier hips. Throwing a hard punch might even break their knuckle bones for its now almost brittled. What they could do in the ring is just a 1 and 2 punch and back away again.

Not 12 but 8 rounds only. I believed that both of them are still active though, although they have age, those fighters will live the sports that make them famous and lots of money (although Tyson most of his from Don King). So it's over exaggerating to say that they are going to break or dislocate something. Roy just retired 2 years ago but still active and analyst, yes they gain some weight specially Tyson but the skills and movement are still there.

If you follow Mike Tyson's social media, he has posted some video of him training way before even this fight has been announce. And we still have months, so they have a lot of preparations to bring that body to a fighting level.
4691  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Steve Wozniak Sues YouTube Over Twitter-Like Bitcoin Scam on: July 27, 2020, 10:31:39 AM
Sometimes I get confused with Youtube why the response related to video scams is relatively slower compared to videos related
to political issues. This made me a little disappointed, because based on the articles I read on the internet. The number of video
scams victims is very large, I was very happy when Steve Wozniak decided on sues YouTube. So this can be a lesson for Youtube
for fast responds related video scams.

Even doing live streams, they usually take it down, that is if it violated their ToS. But clearly with the rampant scams and ads on their backyard, it's about time that they clean up and it's really good to see that someone like Steve on sue them for not doing their part here.

And on the part of content creator, you need to be careful as well as hackers are targeting those channels that has a lot of subscribers. So learn to protect your account as well, enable 2FA, update your password with a strong one or even change a new email address for insurance.
4692  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Remembering the earily days of mining... on: July 26, 2020, 11:38:09 PM
if you look through mining posts around the 2010-2011 timeframe there are some truly amazing pics of setups. hundreds of gpus just stacked on sagging shelves from the sheer weight. a lot of pics gone in that thread but it was some awesome (and scary) stuff.

loved it. spent hours browsing those pics. if i find the thread ill post it here.

edit: remember the milk crate miners lol

You referring to this old thread? Pictures of your mining rigs!.

Yes, it's a thing to behold, Lol, some of the images are no longer loading, but there are still some that we can droll all over. And there's also a video there, someone uploaded it to Youtube and you can really here the noise and how loud it is if you are mining in your room.
4693  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: next target of ethereum on: July 26, 2020, 10:31:42 PM
And with the fast approaching Eth 2.0, I believe we will see the $400 level soon. And if bitcoin continues its increasing pace, it will help further in boosting the eth's price. So brace yourselves for the good times in crypto market. Prepare your investments as this will be a good opportunity to earn profit in the next coming weeks.

$400 is not that far so I believed as well that it can be hit if Eth 2.0 will be released in the last quarter of the year. And this could be the catalyst for an altcoin bull run. I stress altcoin bull run because bitcoin has making its short run after the pandemic scare.

But the altcoin has been bearish for many years now. And we all have been asking ourselves when are we going to see altcoin climbing again. So let's see, it looks like ETH is consolidating, but I have no doubt that it will make another push around $320-$350.
4694  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is $10,000 on: July 26, 2020, 11:42:43 AM
10,000 doesn't really mean much. It has crossed it countless times during this big nothing phase. 10.5 ish is the big one and has been for a long, long time. That could happen tomorrow or it may take the rest of the year.

It's another test, if we break the resistance, then we might see some big FOMO coming in.
I think I've witnessed 2 times already that bitcoin fail to continue rising when it reached $10,000, instead, it dump when it failed to break the resistance.

so this could be the time, hopefully.

I can't remember what is our highest high during the pandemic and pre-halving, it is $10,300 or $10,800? Anyways, if we go to $10k, this is obviously another FOMO, it just surprising that the start of this comes from Altcoin market, specially Ethereum who just broken $300 and still continue to grow because of the ETH 2.0 and the Defi hype.

Currently the price is just ~$10k, so I'm not sure if this is going to be sustained as FOMO will go down after breaking the five digits again. I'm sure those short positions get REKT though crashing the bearish sentiments we have seen for weeks now.
4695  Economy / Gambling discussion / ESPN Global to launch The Future of E-sports: Online Gaming + Blockchain on: July 26, 2020, 11:01:37 AM
I saw this press release:

ESPN Global to launch The Future of E-sports – The Perfect Pairing Of Online Gaming and Blockchain

Quote
London, U.K. : E-Sports Programming Network (ESPN Global) recently integrated online gaming with Blockchain technology. It is a unique Blockchain based gaming revolution, wherein you can win cash by winning battles and tournaments. With their premium membership, one gets priority access to slots, and super early access to the most sought after games. The platform is under pre-launch phase and later will allow players to make deposits and withdrawals using bitcoin and other variety of crypto-currencies.

Crypto-currency payment specialists "Cryptopay" is being used by ESPN Global, to make the process a lot simpler, swift and secure.

As for ESPN Global, it is the mobile e-Sports platform based in UK. It is run by ESPN Global Corporation Ltd., headquartered in Poland. It offers some of the most popular games in one application. It is a format where users choose a game and can join a group of participants. Users can compete with each other in real time and winner is announced on the basis of highest score.

“As per a research done by 3EA Limited, a global strategic management consulting group, e-sports and online gaming is a $140 billion global industry driven predominantly by digital micro-transaction economies, which we believe will benefit immensely from the integrity and resilience of the Blockchain technology," said Mr. Chris Parker, one of the Directors of ESPN Global. With the Blockchain system, you can verify and support extreme levels of simple transactions without the need for a centralized platform, and this is what industries are seeing as the most attractive feature.

Apart from this, ESPN Global is also integrating the recently launched game Satoshi’s Treasure. This game is based on Blockchain, and is named after Satoshi Nakamoto, the father of bitcoin. As per Mr. Parker, “With this $1 million puzzle game Satoshi's Treasure, we are promising a bounty-laden bitcoin wallet whose keys will be divided into 1,000 fragments, spawning a global hunt for the prize pieces.”

In further conversation with Mr. Parker, he told us about the future planning of this incorporation. He said "Apart from further advancement in our application and integration of more exciting Blockchain based games, our Incorporation is intended to launch IEO (Initial Exchange Offering) of our own SGT (Smart Gaming Token) based on ERC-20 platform, once we built a good E-sport community. From the day we start our operations, we will be giving airdrops of SGTs to all registered players as a gift. Not only this, all players who will loose money by participating in any games or tournaments, their losses will be covered by our corporation and their ERC wallets will be credited with our SGT airdrops which will be equivalent to their losses.”

As per ESPN Global, the current valuation of SGT airdrop is $0.001, which will increase with time as our community grows.

For their premium members, ESPN provides 2X SGTs against the amount of super-contest. This means one can get back every penny one has invested and this can be used to bet and earn more. Also, they said that if their premium members lose a game, he will get back his initial investment in the form of SGT airdrops.

A user also gets a referral bonus for every player joining through their referral link. All earnings can be directly encashed.

The company also announced the launch of Game Developers Console by January, 2022 where Gaming Studios and Independent Game Developers across the globe can launch their games on the platform. Interesting gaming experiences to look out for, indeed.

https://pressat.co.uk/releases/espn-global-to-launch-the-future-of-e-sports-the-perfect-pairing-of-online-gaming-and-blockchain-9165b38bc9a25b4b74d0ef2e73356f4d/

So it seems that another multi national sports companies are entering the picture and taking online gaming to the next level but this kind of offering. I think this will be great for online gaming and it could bring closer to mass adoption.

What do you guys think?
4696  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What more can a project teams wish for ??? on: July 26, 2020, 10:33:04 AM
It's always for the best interest of the project if they use top exchanges to raise fund, there will be better results

1. Enough money for future developments
2. High trading volumes and enough liquidity
3. Exposure to more investors and whales and even traders

what more can a project team want?

This is why I've Zero my mind that serious projects will always aim for top exchanges, the results are already clear as crystal

Project should have a long term vision and not just ha road map of a year or two. And then after that, nothing, no development whatsoever. I agree that they should use or list on top exchanges so that they will be exposed to more traders which means more project liquidity. Not focus on the money but what it can bring to crypto sphere or even to other industries.

But the problem is that projects nowadays wants to list on second tier exchanges, they should be very careful specially if that exchanges has the reputation of practicing wash trading or faking their volumes. It won't look good at them in the end.
4697  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING ]: Fury vs Wilder III in Las Vegas on 18th July 2020 !!! on: July 26, 2020, 09:39:42 AM
Let us all put our views here. The votes give a big indication of what the general consensus is towards the fighters is but there is more to this thread than just the votes in the poll.

This fight is very popular, if we close the thread, we won't be able to discuss the updates of this fight.
Yes, keep this thread open because there are a lot of changes in the fight schedule, so at least someone is updating us all whether it could be in December in US or somewhere else. I read that Australia is being look at another location but I doubt that it will go there because of the COVID-19. And it is better that this happen in US soil, as both of them have a huge following in the States.

Even if this fight will be held in other country, I think they will still get a big number of people who will watch the fight, no sports enthusiast would not know these two great fighters, so if it will not happen in US, I think Australia is also a good venue.

They need to have a gate entrance revenue and a good number of PPV to meet their target.

But still the mecca of boxing is center on US so if the fight are held outside, it might suffer a bit in terms of revenues. So for me the only venue should be in the US, and besides it is going to be difficult to go there because of travel bans and restrictions.

Let's not hurry, wait till everything has settle down I know that this fight in the most highly anticipated match, but the organisers are looking at a a common ground for fans to see it thru live gates and PPV and for them to earn a decent because they also spend so much money promoting this fight already.
4698  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin truly Decentralised? on: July 26, 2020, 09:08:55 AM
Whats this Original Bitcoin and this BTC? Are they different coins with different visions at the beginning or there was a hard fork or something?

Is bitcoin or BTC truly decentralised?

If you start with that BTC has no central authority, then BTC is decentralised.

Who registered the domain name bitcoin.org back on 18th Aug 2008?

Someone already answered that.

Does Japan have any archives or medical records of Satoshi Nakamoto? Japan is always known to be a advanced tech country so surely there must be some trace of Satoshi electronically or on paper trace if hes really old. Whats Japan authorities saying on this? Its near impossible to just vanish without trace in these times of technology where your traces are easily recorded somewhere unless Satoshi was a hacker and wiped himself clean from govt. databases leaving no trace fearing the current Zionist worldwide financial system will come after him or something.

Or satoshi was born outside Japan? if not and if he was in Japan when he created bitcoin then why didnt he registered bitcoin website as bitcoin.jp instead of bitcoin.org? Japan is know to have the latest tech 1st before the whole world has it. For example Japan is known to have HDTV back in the 70-80s before the whole world had it like 30 years later! Also theres tech/inventions thats never gets released worldwide and only available in Japan.

Japan has its own economic inflationary problem so is bitcoin was originally designed for Japan and its population only?

Where did you get the notion that Satoshi is Japanese when no one really know him in the first place, so your argument is wrong in the beginning. And we don't know if Satoshi is a single person or group of individuals.

[ ..snip.. ]

I don't know what is OP up to, he is already a Senior member so he should have an idea where to get this information.

I think you're able to get over it by now since you're able to share your story here. And who would have thought that we are going to reach $20k in 2017? Sometimes you really have to think hard about it, but hey, it's life, you can't just loss your mind although it could really make you rich, but everything happens for a reason.  Smiley

4700  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Hidden altcoin gem on: July 25, 2020, 11:05:06 AM
Literally lots of alts are making moves right now after bitcoin break past $9400. TA wise it's not that surprising. You can find 10 more coins that do +50% in a single day.

Of, and if a partnership with Paypal or something like that is true, maybe newspapers talk about it everywhere. I don't see one though. Unless you mean you can use Paypal to buy NWC, which is probably gonna happen to other coins too. Might as well said has a partnership with Amazon when you use their AWS Cloud.

It’s indeed true. You log in to the NewsCrypto platform and on the dashboard just click “Buy NWC”. From there, you’ll see the Paypal option. When you click on that, a popup window from Paypal will come out and complete the payment either with your Paypal balance or credit/debit card. They also accept direct Visa and Mastercard payment as well.

I verified it myself and it was indeed for real. NewsCrypto’s Paypal integration is taking a huge step for others to adopt this popular payment processor in purchasing cryptocurrencies. NWC’s on a roll!

But is there a catch though? Using Paypal could probably incurred more fees as you are going to use a third party here, unless the price really moons in the future then than fees will be covered.

And maybe this is what the hype is for, seeing the price in the last month going to almost +30% gains, I think for a coin that is not that popular, this is already a good increase and still within their ATH price.
