Theres chance for them to use their full power since headgear and big hand gloves are usually used to exhibition fight to minimize punches force but i have read the requirements of the Tyson and Jones fight maybe headgear is included.

I don't really think that the fight goes from a simple process between two retired boxers, BUT with Mike Tyson in the ring, a blow received beyond the planned can give us some "boxing", but here in reality the significance of everything, without matter how the fight turns out, is seeing Mike Tyson in the Ring again. It would have been hard for me to bet he would return to a ring at age 54 under any conditions.

Since I was a teenager, I always love to see this man Tyson as he is the favorite boxer of my father which also influenced me well to watch boxing. The counter puncher capabilities of Jones won't affect the skills of Tyson because he got the power of body to body contact as well as aggressive punches will really put his opponent into massive hits.

I think the exhibition match is a game without harming the opponent, and they don't play hard as usual. They show you entertain match to the audience so that people can enjoy their apparent. While the regular game is playing as usual, sometimes one is bleeding, or both are bleeding. I don't know if both will wear protective helmets or not, but I don't think they will use full power to fight.

A technical knock-out or referee stoppage is probably the most likely turnout for this fight.

@TopTort777 An exhibition match does not have strict rules. They may or may not have headgear. They may choose to just box within 5 rounds or perhaps choose thicker gloves for better protection. Or the match will automatically be stopped with either of the fighter knocked down. But the punch is never regulated. That is impossible to control in the middle of the fight.

No. They can't throw powerful punches anymore. I wanna see Mike putting all his weight on to throw upper cut to see what that would happen to him and to Jones. Exciting fight really and I hope there is nothing will go wrong.

It wouldn't look good for PPV payers to see them wearing headgears though but the insurance company would likely want to them to. They would probably write a new insurance contract for this event.

As far as the rules are concerned, both boxers will not wear any protective gear. I expect that too even for an exhibition as they are "Legends" after all.

The fight does have bizarre rules compare to a usual boxing match. As also mentioned above, there will be no judges here, and the only way to determine the winner is via KO or TKO.
