4721  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will bitcoin reach its all-time high? on: April 09, 2022, 11:02:57 AM
Then I suppose we just have different standards of what the word recovery actually means, but regardless of that I think bitcoin can do well during this year and even reach a new ATH, I just think that this is going to depend on factors that are not under our control, inflation all over the world is very high due to the economic policies taken during the pandemic and the war at Ukraine, if things keep going in this direction then bitcoin will once gain go up in value significantly during this year, but if governments find a way to slow down this process then we may have to wait until next year for a new ATH.

Not to mention the increasingly differing standards people seem to have about what "short/medium/long" term means. I must be super boomer as long-term means decade an upwards, and very-short term is a year and less, but I'm still getting used to the idea that a lot of people seem to take long-term as something within a halving period.

Recovery could still be part of the process if we look at the post-2017 era as an overheating of markets (as I sometimes do).

Who are you fooling? you bought A LOT of bitcoin when the price hit 69k? do you really believe that we will listen to that Story telling? lol

This matchday is strange, the quarterfinals with 4 games and 3 end 1-1 and the 4th 1-0. As if all teams have the same tactics in the first game and only at Glasgow Rangers did it not work. The favorite to win the Europa League is FC Barcelona, i hope that a German team plays in the final.
I personally don't see it as something strange because for me, it's normal in some matches they get the same result. After all it's a tight tournament that even, in the first leg in the previous round of 16, we were surprised by Galatasaray who can hold Barcelona to a draw and now the team from Germany can do that too and I think that's normal. Also, regarding the other matches I think they are all opponents that have at least equal quality, like Leipzig v Atalanta, West Ham v Lyon. If it's about Braga v Rangers it's also a reasonable result, considering that the Portuguese team can sometimes only score a few goals and are able to defend quite strong.

Yeah, nothing too out of the ordinary. No more away goals, and no one wants to get in a position that the second leg is meaningless or too insurmountable, so draws in the first leg or slim wins are pretty much the expected fare.

Disappointed Barca didn't get a win, even more disappointed that Rangers have a small hill to climb, but am I surprised? Nah, not really.

Least we can't say the competition's decided already (and same for Conference).
4723  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: April 09, 2022, 09:22:13 AM
@Trofo @casperBGD

Goal fest in the end. I don't know which is more surprising... Sevilla scoring 4 goals? Granada 2 away? Or the game ending with only 5 yellow cards? The only winners last night I guess would be Sevilla ML punters, bookies probably raked in a lot of money. Well, more than they usually do anyway ha!

Thin odds and I'm broke so no betting for me today. Tomorrow decides if I start Monday with fresh bags of cash. I'd definitely smack on Real on any other ML bet though. Atletico too actually.
4724  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: April 09, 2022, 08:46:23 AM
That is why I'd always say that we are the underdogs - even against United and Chelsea, let alone City. But luckily for us, the real game is played on the pitch and not in financial analysis.

It was only the past couple of seasons we had better bookmaker odds than United, but we're never the favourites against City, or I don't remember it at all. Even against Chelsea it's always even more or less. Suits me, since it just means more winnings (except we've been drawing these teams more than winning recently ha).

Congrats to Fortebet and Tumi for taking first and second place. Now we have new leaders yet again after this Newcastle Wolves match. The pool is getting really intense now. Too bad Newcastle didnt score 1 more goal at least so that it could be even more intense.

It's a tough, tough game, and once more I paid the price for siding with the less-favoured team -- guess my gut's no longer good for trusting. Was always going to be a tight game but I honestly thought Newcastle were going to fumble.

Used to be only 10 points from 1st to 10th not too long ago. That lead's now 20 points. Incredible.
4725  Economy / Speculation / Re: A Little Surprised! on: April 09, 2022, 07:44:04 AM
Have to say the same, a little surprised. And my posts for the past weeks have always said it needs a strong movement in one direction to determine how the next period will look like, but we haven't exactly seen that either. Pushes up to 4k, then falling back now to 42k, neither have happened as drastically, nor with the momentum to power through.

Also said April should stay above 40k the entire month before moving forward, and I did think that was likely, but still... slightly annoyed at myself for not selling a bunch I needed to sooner.
4726  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: April 08, 2022, 05:55:12 PM
^ On the rise, Barca, on the rise, and yes, I lost bets on them last night, yes they should've won, but pretty pleased with the actual performance of the guys on the pitch (except for killer finishing) but this was unfamiliar territory for most of them, against a fast and physical German style of Red Bull football. I think they learnt enough  to play proper at home.

Anyone fancy Granada snatching points from Sevilla?

Very cool graphic you shared there Tornike, always a fan of those kinds of... ASCII-ish art?

Anyway, just wanted to mention about something I might have touched about regarding the impromptu promos, because I've missed one more in my inbox.

I do play at FJ practically every day, but it's not "natural" for a player to check their in-game inbox for messages, especially when they don't come every day.

For time-sensitive promos, which FJ seems to reward players for loyalty, I recommend:
- send to our email
- have a pop up or alert on our account

I would say it's not exactly fun for a player to see a recognition for loyalty, and then see it's also expired because I checked my inbox yesterday morning, and today evening, and it came and expired in between that time.

Not a complaint at all, just a suggestion to improve those ad hoc promos that only appear in player inboxes Smiley

Big fat weekend for me, and ML is tough enough on the City-Liverpool game, but I'm thinking to go even bigger and put Liverpool to win by 2+ goals, as I really hope we hurt their GD too.

Don't forget your freebet promos:

https://sportsbet.io/sports/4-3-free (Liverpool win is the easy 1/4 already, right guys?)
https://sportsbet.io/sports/bet-free-6-6 (Liverpool 3-0 would have been another easy 1/6 haha but it's not part of the selections)

And all the other free promos (check out jeremypwr and notblox1). Huge weekend.
4730  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: April 08, 2022, 11:32:03 AM
Silly money on Liverpool for me! But the odds keep getting better and better for City (cries inside that bookies think we'll lose: 36/10 ML now, better odds for loss or draw).

@Welsh Wise to go conservative, let's assume Salah won't get over his burdens yet, and Klopp decides to rest key players, so yeah, best we can do is 3 goals, and a customary CB error to gift a goal.

OK, pretense over. I put Liverpool down for 3-0 and that may be naive, but this kind of game throws form out the window and I know despite everything said by players, both teams see this as the title decider, psychologically anyway. City can try play their possession game as much as they want, I actually love seeing Liverpool counter, Trent's at his best, Salah is due a goal fest, loves the big games, so does Mane really, and while Jota's been key to breaking down stubborn defences I'd love to see how he does on the big stage. Firmino is always my favourite guy up front and I bet you he's keen to show his mates up.

You're right, we used to pound them down to dust with the pressing, I forever remember Robbo chasing down players passing back all the way to the keeper, and the fear in their eyes, and I thought it would happen the last time too -- but our defence haha.

@LFC_Bitcoin I'm hoping good ol' Klopp plays both games with his best squad, I feel like we can afford to, with the Benfica result. I do feel your nerves but on the other hand, if we were to knock City out on all 3 fronts, it could be the hammer blow they may not know how to deal with for seasons to come. Klopp's proven his teams don't crumble from finishing second (all our lost finals, losing EPL by a point). It would be one hell of a crushing blow for a reigning champ to lose 2 finals and a title on 1/2 points.

P.S. was supposed to have a family thing this weekend and I have not once in 2+ years asked to prioritise my football (last time I did was UCL final haha).

@darxiaomi @Ulven interesting, now I'm wondering if I should change my mind. Wasn't paying too much attention to odds but I feel like they haven't even shifted one bit from 2 weeks ago when I looked at them. Is that normal in F1 that everything is pretty much set in terms of likelihood despite news, updates, driver reports etc?

I'm still sticking with Verstappen pole.
4734  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa Conference League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Round of 16! on: April 07, 2022, 07:17:04 PM
Yeah I told myself I'll be staying well away from the games here. Odds are either too uninteresting for the underdogs, or I don't trust the supposed favourites like Feyenoord (sorry guys but since Dirk Kuyt left, you've not been the same, even if you're breathing down Ajax this season, til you let them win of course).

Leicester winning this one would still be pretty cool, but I sense Mou has got a thing or two to prove.

@snipie PSG in Conference league? If they allow themselves to finish 5th maybe Wink
4735  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread on: April 07, 2022, 05:29:09 PM
Hooray, who else took Atalanta? Yesterday I felt Real was incredible value at almost 4/1, and today this was my single pick too, 37/10 and I know Leipzig aren't to be toyed with but just feel like the Italians were ripe for an away win. Just need them to score one more as Leipzig are almost certain to score at home. Game's chances actually fell more to them but Muriel's last game showed an angry guy who needs to score and the loss to Napoli seems to have suitably fired him up.

Barca value bet also even though it's only 16/10.

Interesting, for sure, especially as the region is highly dependent on tourism (at least to my understanding). Plenty of lessons to learn already from El Salvador but I think a slow burn rollout, with pertinent thought to infrastructure and access, maybe we'll see a (better) success story.

The income tax benefit thing could be interesting for OTC auxiliaries, definitely for Localbitcoiners. Portugal itself is still a pretty easy place to do business, and it's pretty high on the ease-of-access list for freelancers and crypto peeps (comparative to rest of EU).

Edit: might be tiny but the city I come from, the capital of my island state, has a lower population. I bet it's a lot more developed.
4737  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's UEFA Champions League Football Preditor Pool Discussion thread on: April 07, 2022, 03:17:59 PM
I tried. I don't think I can. Maybe there's a cut off point or a grace period at the start of the season/tournament. Make sense so people don't just try join in the last round or something to cheat.

Benzema is on fire again. 2 goals in the first half. He would have had a third had he look at the goal whilst taking a strike which went narrowly wide.

Fair enough. But don't worry, it's a crazy tiny pool of UCL hardliners here, we'll work something out next season for sure. Here's the prizes I agreed to pay out:
Since it's very few games but I do want to reward those who bothered playing, these are the suggested prizes:

1st place: 2 mbtc
2nd place: 1.5 mbtc
3rd place: 1 mbtc

I'll actually probably bump it up a bit and share around something with every participant here if Liverpool win (big outright on them waiting).

Benzema, yeah. Not the first guy that jumps to my mind when I think of players I love but as long as he plays, I'm backing Real most games. Modric unsung hero too, and Vini I think.

I switched between the games and I must admit I was very disappointment with Bayern tonight. This was their worst performance in some time. I am not worried for them though. They have more than enough firepower to turn it around at home.

Same. I was all eyes on Bayern, and it wasn't even so much that they were playing badly, every team has that form dip (but I think we both agreed recently they have been on high blip alert mode for some time now this year). It was that they forgot to be disciplined and got rattled. Villareal back four even tackled with more German vigour than them! Moreno and Celso just bossed them around like kids in some parts.

They'll still win of course, the next leg. 4 or 5 nil is usually what happens when they're licking their wounds. We were already lucky to get Benfica, it's too much to ask for Villareal in the semis (which, incidentally, would be a replay of the Europa League semi of 2016 which was my first Liverpool game attended).

Anyone know when the last time a 7th placed team won UCL? Liverpool won in 2005 and finished 5th in EPL.
4738  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +81785 units on: April 07, 2022, 11:01:39 AM
100 units at Sportsbet on Liverpool and Atletico to WIN @19.48. Other odds: 17.75
Atletico came and played like 6th division team. I get it you want to keep your net safe but when you have some quality in team you should at least try to be dangerous in counter attacks. Atletico wouldn't score yesterday even if game was played for 180 minutes, total anti-football and I for one will be very glad to see them on they way out from Europe.

But in fact, no one was surprised by such a strategy in the first leg and, in fact, Atlético achieved a good result before the second leg. I hate this kind of football (as well as its twin brother tiki taka) but sometimes it works. I think the second game will be more interesting as Atlético will be forced to try to score a goal but I'm sure even that they will do as carefully as possible.

Yeah, spiritually and mentally, I really can't stomach that kind of football, I did believe Atletico would nab a goal after frustrating City for so long. Can still admire them for that, as it takes all kinds of football to create the colourful tapestry we have but the last time someone ever tried that with Liverpool (Roy Hodgson comes to mind urgh) my soul died many times.

I'm definitely putting Atletico down again, still 10/1 at home. All they need to do is annoy City and Pep so much they make a mistake. Whatever happens though, they meet Real if they somehow go through and that's a team who knows exactly how to deal with Simeone.
4739  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: April 07, 2022, 10:23:26 AM
Haha casper welcome to loser club =p but nah, you can beat United easy, put them in Conference league please! On that topic, big big news is United have Ten Hag. Well, okay, not confirmed, but it's a done deal from what I'm reading. Thoughts anyone?

I really think he's a cool guy, but am I worried about United now? Not at all. Rangnick was a bigger deal but he couldn't do crap to undo the shitstorm the club have whipped up around themselves. Can't possibly see Ten Hag do any better. Not even Pep nor Klopp could, unless they bring the club's principles to align with the new manager. LvG was a bit unfair when he labeled his old club a commercial one but he had a point there. United have always been and will always want to be the English Galacticos. Hard work ethics not an absolute requirement for players. They'll carry a lazy Pogba any day if it brings them profits.

So overall, I'm pleased they got Ten Hag. He's going to be in for a rude shock.

To be honest, if I was Emery I would suspend Moreno for a long period of time after that madness. I simply cannot understand how professional sports can be ruled by ego so much on a top level, especially when you are playing as a huge underdog.
He has Danjuma on the left totally alone - waiting for a pass to basically run with the ball into an open net and he decides to go for glory and shoot from 50 meters. Insane, truly mind boggling decision.

He really is a good player - but decisions like these can be the difference between going to the semis or not.

I'm leaning with you here but I'll give Moreno the benefit of doubt. Saw the replays several times post match. He intercepted, was off balance, saw the keeper way off, adjust himself and took a swing in a split second. Actually looked like a beautiful goal-bound effort from the angle behind him, but yeah, too much curve.

It's possible a through ball to Danjuma would have been much more difficult to execute, but yeah, my instinct would be to pass to him immediately.  Shoulda killed the game with many chances, they'll regret this next week almost certainly.
4740  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Round of 16! on: April 07, 2022, 08:26:14 AM
Pretty happy with this, not cashing out with 30 mins to play, may the jinx gods stay away.
Credit score I add to this player he really is a nightmare for his opponents. the moves he makes always result in good things.
this is again a massacre for Chelsea after previously in the domestic league got the same result

Yeah, best bet I've made for weeks, huge bookie error in my opinion. Only problem is now they'll be the favs on the return leg so I don't expect great odds again.

Benzema reminds everyone that you don't ask an "aging" striker not to high press because at this level, you scupper a world-class keeper like he did and you get your reward. Bloody hell that was good (and I didn't even see it live).

@Emitdrama I'll be the first to prefer 6-2 over 2-0, but these days I feel like Klopp prefers the clean sheet and comfortable cushion, because when you're chasing titles on 4 fronts, you want to conserve and get an airtight defence, so your keeper at least doesn't get a heart attack haha. I love goals like the next guy, but give me 1-0 wins all the way to the finals of all the competitions left for us and I'll take it in a hearbeat.
