4721  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The biggest threat to Bitcoin... on: November 15, 2013, 08:52:14 PM
I just posted this in another topic:

Yes that diluted the overall share of bitcoin in the cryptocurrency 'sector' from say 100% to 99%, but so what. Better a smaller share of a larger pie right?

Any valuable technology sector has multiple actors in it, not just one monopoly. Alts like ltc provide redundancy in case of a catastrophe or an alternative if bitcoin becomes idealogically unsound to some people causing large divides in the community (see the heated debate about Mike Hearn and blacklisting).

Anyone who thinks that the bitcoin community will remain totally in agreement in the future is simply either an idiot or protecting their btc holdings with their fanatically closed minded preaching (a la Goldbugs).

'Just fork bitcoin instead' I hear you cry. That isn't going to work as well. Too much confusion. Also you might get a new power struggle etc with the forking teams. Better to have competing alts in parallel the whole time. Ltc and its highly competent dev team (or someone else) can snap at Bitcoins heels continuously 'keeping them in line' and doing a good honest job.

So I hope the threat of alts will give the btc dev team the kick up the arse they need to avoid any mexican standoff type situations.

True, new or already working altcoins could function as a "blow-off-vent" for different approaches.

Nevertheless imo its a very real threat.

4723  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / The biggest threat to Bitcoin... on: November 15, 2013, 08:32:38 PM

Noticing the recent inner-Bitcoin discussions about "Coin Validity", Bitcoin Foundation etc i think the biggest threat for a successful expansion and adoption of Bitcoin is a possible developer breakup leading to a hard fork or even several forks.

Taking into account the often difficulty and immature personalities in those circles i really see that as a big threat to Bitcoin as a whole. Even bigger than technical problems or governmental issues. Especially since adoption, capitalization and media coverage are strongly building up.

Can this be compared to back in the days when IBM resisted the new wave of Apple computers?

no, it can`t

I don't understand.  They must be packaging and shipping them all at once.  I hope we aren't waiting on the extras beyond 200 that need to be produced.

2 days have gone by and nothing shipped?  I thought they were in stock?  Some people could've had them before the weekend.

This industry gives me ulcers.

you definitely should leave this business imo

Everything in KNC world is rainbows and unicorn!

Meanwhile, over in HashFast land, the crybabies are bitching about a picture of the CEO holding a big package of their recently delivered chips.  The chips were delivered and they're still crying!  What the hell is wrong with this world?

I'm very happy that I went with KNC and Bitfury.  But I wish now that I'd have invested in HF too.  Sad

You must not understand the actual situation.

They promised end of October/Early November First Batch
They just got their "Silicon" (Not Chips) on Feb 7th
They stated the Substrate (What surrounds the silicon needed to make it into a "Chip) is delayed until Early-Mid December
Once they have the working "Chips" then they have to test them and finally assemble the units.
All of this going into the Holiday Season.
KnC will ship their second batch before HashFast ships their first and HashFast paid $600 more then KnC November Orders and will receive 150+ LESS GH if their chip runs at 400GH like they state.

I'm sure there's more but that should help you understand the mood in that thread.

We had EXACTLY the same "mood" aka assholes in this thread. Remember the last weeks of september? Crumbs and others occupied this thread too and just moved on as soon as KNC started to deliver.

We need a "ban-function" in this forum to keep posters out that most often arent even invested in the company they are trolling and arent adding one productive bit to the issue. They can open their own thread and keep fudding there but there should always be one "clean" thread where a good discussion about pros/cons or whatever is even possible.
4731  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: November 13, 2013, 09:03:13 PM
This is going to be bad.
It is going to be a long 6 weeks waiting....    Now I know why the KNC thread is 1200 pages.

At the KNC thread about 90% of the idiots werent even invested in KNC. Thats the funny thing about those guys, have no intention in the whole project but keep throwing dirt. The day KNC delivered they dissapeared suddenly.

And here its the same.

gold = rohstoff

edelsteine = dekoration
4733  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: Der Aktuelle Kursverlauf on: November 13, 2013, 03:01:51 PM

http://www.spiegel.de/wirtschaft/soziales/investment-wueste-china-schlechte-aussichten-fuer-anleger-a-866741.html

soviel mal ot.

Any info about the November Batch??

...annnnnd this thread is starting to give me cancer again.

Yes they could have conducted this upgrade sale better but OMG I can barely read some of this crap. What is it that makes so many bitcoin miners insanely emotional and entitled?

If I was in KNC shoes I would make a preferred customers list and blacklist 90% of the people here since there is no lack of demand for their products and a seemingly infinite supply of emotionally immature customers with an overwhelming feeling of entitlement. They could save themselves a lot of grief that way...

If you are so unhappy close this thread, never come back and don't buy KNC products.

My point was that I highly doubt they pay more than $80USD to ship 3 modules with insurance to the UK and they charge $180.
My question is WHY?
Because they can. It is obvious that the people who bought the 200 modules believed the price was agreeable (total price, including shipping, import fees, and the separate HSF purchase). And judging by the speed at which they were snapped up, the buyers obviously thought the price was a steal.

#

they also could have done an auction and the price would have been three times higher for sure
