4721  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Things will be different this time around on: January 10, 2021, 07:15:30 AM
To all those saying altcoin season won't likely happen, in January 2018 altcoin season was able to triggered because bitcoin was done for at 19k to 20k at the time, this time bitcoin isn't done yet, you can see that dominance is increasing too, it might take longer than expect, stop expecting history to repeat itself in same ways like 2017
History always finds a way of repeating itself, whether we admit it or not. I think it will this time around again. Bitcoin is still having a good run and doesn't look like it wants to slow down a bit. Corrections are quickly eaten up by the buy orders like sell orders don't matter. Alts season will only commence when Bitcoin is done and this will be evident in BTC dominance. The flicks of price increase we see in alts now should not deceive anyone that alts rally have begun. These are just regular traders buying. The real whales are yet to start making purchases. Once that begins to happen, we shall experience what happened in 2018.

BTW, alts rally was in 2018.
4722  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's the biggest mistake you've made on crypto? on: January 10, 2021, 06:02:56 AM
It's good to see how the timeline on the OP reads Jan 1, 2021. Some of us here never thought this year would come or that we would survive 2020 with all its headache. But grace led us this far.

My biggest mistake in crypto was not having bought Bitcoin in its very beginnings. If I had bought plenty of Bitcoin back then when it was worth cents, I would've been a millionaire today.
Are you sure about being a millionaire from early hodling because many who bought in the early days sold off when Bitcoin barely got to $100 or less than $1k. It's the same way a lot of altcoin whales are trading valuable altcoins at a cheap price now. I hope they won't regret it a few years later. It's always like that.

For me, one of the sad moments I recall in crypto would be at the time I sold off all my BNB hodlings for a lending shitcoin that later scammed. That was in 2017/18 and it still hurts me till date.
4723  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Eth season or alt season already? on: January 10, 2021, 04:38:01 AM
And again do you think altcoin season is now in action or not?
Altcoin season hasn't yet come.

ETH and Litecoin may be having a good run now but that doesn't mean a bull run for alts has set in. Normally, the order of things is for Bitcoin to moon first and when it's exhausted the top alts (may be top 50 listed on the CMC) will follow suit and then the valuable and use-case penny cryptos kick in before the worthless penny tokens as the mad rush to grab anything intensifies. All these will begin to happen when dominance of Bitcoin on the market cap decreases. For now, Bitcoin still has a huge dominance of the total market. Just keep watching data from the CMC or Coingecko for that, that's the best way to find out.
4724  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When do you expect the Altcoin rally? on: January 09, 2021, 05:40:25 PM
No one knows for sure when the altcoin rally will kick in. Though we have price begin to move already in some alts, it's still far from a bull run. From history, alts season normally kick in once Bitcoin is exhausted with its own rally. To gauge this and have an idea when it will be it's better to regularly check the dominance of Bitcoin and that should be when Bitcoin has a less than 60% control of the total market cap. Right now Bitcoin's dominance is almost at 70%. There is still a long wait to alts rally. To get the best ROI, now is the right time fir anyone to buy viable altcoins. Don't wait for FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) before buying. Just buy now!
4725  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: So is it appropriate for us to BUY XRP now? on: January 09, 2021, 04:06:48 PM
So is it appropriate for us to BUY XRP now?
You've to remember that everything in crypto is RISK, just like it is crossing a busy expressway. So, you've to identify your risk appetite and know what you can forfeit if things went wrong. Again, you should also know that any suggestion given to you here shouldn't be seen as a financial advice so you don't get emotional about it.

I think now the price will fluctuate until the situation with CEK is resolved
For a long time the price of Ripple remained under $1 until that debacle and I don't really see anything different happening, even after it is resolved. I hate to say this but that's the truth — XRP isn't the type of crypto investment that can easily give anyone a good ROI. Price hardly moves.
4726  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Don't buy what you can't hodl. on: January 09, 2021, 07:38:08 AM
Not true if you are going to buy it is not necessary that you will need hold it some of us prefer trading daily it's called day trading.
This, definitely, is true. A lot of people transact in Bitcoin without hodling it. If you ask them why they buy Bitcoin they would simply tell you it's to trade it and make profit without any long term hodl. I do share in your sentiment as quoted and I don't think a lot of people know the details and roadmap or the white paper of the tokens they buy. Knowing all that will be time wasting and necessarily not even fruitful. Simply put, knowing all that isn't a guarantee that anyone may profit on trades.
4727  Economy / Speculation / Re: What you'll do when BTC price will go down heavily and fast? on: January 09, 2021, 05:37:57 AM
Other:
That for me would be to sell (it won't necessarily be at the peak (for no one knows that) and then rebuy at intervals when there are signs of exhaustion to the downside, judging from technical analysis.

...and sell some towards the bottom again
But if you knew a bottom would come why would you not sell off before then? Well, it goes to explain that we all are mere speculators in this game. Even the early adopters can't say till date that they knew Bitcoin would be this valuable. This is the interesting part as the idea of Bitcoin keeps everyone on their toes. Who would've thought Bitcoin would see this phenomenal rise at a time like now that the world is in a big health & financial mess?
4728  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: do I still have a chance to get profit? on: January 08, 2021, 07:17:50 AM
I invested in Entry ICO (2018) and until now the project from Entry is still running and the team is still actively responding, but Entry can only be sold and bought at Entry exchange (don't have any other exchange besides their own exchange),
For me, it's a highly risky game if a token is listed ONLY on a single exchange that is theirs. I try as much as I can to stay away from it except it's an exchange token (an exchange token has the potential to rise once the exchange becomes reputable). Other than that, I avoid investing in it. I have had my own fair share of exchanges manipulating listed tokens I hodl (from bounties) on their platforms. Sometimes, the exchanges lock the tokens up at their own decisions without recourse to what investors/hunters say or want until the dev teams dump and exit. So, be careful how you rely on that exchange. If you've your way, you may want to consider selling and taking profit before it collapses on you.
4729  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Bitcoin just crossed $40,100 on: January 08, 2021, 05:57:31 AM
BTC Bitcoin just  crossed $40,100 in today and fuw days bitcoin price moving $50,000 just buy and hold hold  its big signal to bitcoin moon in this time just buy and hold bitcoin and hold long time and high return in your money , Bitcoin  Big potential coin in crypto market its big and safe investment
Before you get hysterically overdosed with excitement, just have it somewhere at the back of your mind that investment in Bitcoin isn't a "get rich quick scheme" It's an investment that takes time to mature. Let the FOMO not fool you, expect corrections right now and then. You could be buying into a correction (for all I care) and when that happens you will panic and sell off again and incur losses. You should've bought a few months ago and by now these little profits you're picking up wouldn't be any issue for you.
4730  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I was not wrong to bought bitcoin. on: January 07, 2021, 06:10:15 PM
OP, just know that at every buying point there's also a selling point. Though you bought slightly at a late time you're enjoying the dividends in price rise now. You took that risk and it paid off.
That' s yet. Without risks how can you expect to make a profit. There is no such thing when it comes to crypto-usually.
In business (or trading, specifically) there is something called high risk and minimal risk. Expert traders tend to look at the reward to risk ratio before triggering trades and they tend to make their entry from the minimal risk level. For instance, those who bought Bitcoin at below $4k in 2020 took a certain risk and that's the minimal risk because the lowest Bitcoin could go flat would be $0 if things went terribly bad and that would be them losing less than $4k. But those who bought high like the OP did at over $12k took high risk because they could lose that $12k if Bitcoin goes flat. That's my drift, I guess you understand it now.
4731  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What altcoins will do best in 2021? on: January 07, 2021, 02:17:35 PM
Without being subjective, I think projects like DIA, Cartesi and Curio are greatly undervalued at the moment. Anyone who has the intention of investing and hodling for a few months such look their direction and buy cheap now. You can also buy tokens of credible exchanges — BNB from Binance is already out of the league because of its current high price, except you don't mind buying high.
4732  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I was not wrong to bought bitcoin. on: January 07, 2021, 11:46:43 AM
OP, just know that at every buying point there's also a selling point. Though you bought slightly at a late time you're enjoying the dividends in price rise now. You took that risk and it paid off. You've to realize that there are people who will still buy at the peak of this bull run and suffer the dump. However, I don't see any Bitcoin dump happening any time soon within this first quarters of 2021 (even into the 2nd quarters). We may see corrections here and there from time to time but definitely price will continue to rally up after each correction. The trend is upward at the moment. 2017 should be a reliable place to look as history is always fond of repeating itself.
4733  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are you buying right now ? on: January 07, 2021, 07:57:50 AM
It first crossed 20, then 22, then 27, then 30, then 32!! Then now it's nearly around 35 and I wanted to take a little risk.

The only graph I see flattening is "Bitcoin graph"
It zoomed passed $37k a few hours after you made that post. We could see 40 before weekend with the way Bitcoin is dancing.

Reason I did invest right now:
I wonder why you never invested when the price was abysmally down below $4k. You're a veteran member of this forum and should've known better that it was just a matter of time before the phoenix in Bitcoin returned. Well, it goes to show how a lot of people like FOMO.

The vaccination is on the way
Well, I don't think your permutation with the vaccine being out to aid Bitcoin price is right. Bitcoin started soaring weeks before Pfizer made its announcement. So, I wonder how that news helped it.
4734  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin; Then and Now on: January 07, 2021, 03:00:13 AM
This, really, is a milestone. The total marketcap, according to data from coingecko actually crossed the 1Trillion mark today with Bitcoin hitting $36,994. It's a wow moment for the crypto industry.

4735  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is it time to uninstall WhatsApp? on: January 06, 2021, 05:49:44 PM
Quote from: o_e_l_e_o [/quote
I will recommend Signal in its place: https://signal.org

It is free, open source, can do everything WhatsApp can do, and has a bunch of extra privacy features.
WhatsApp is overrated. I think those who use it do so just to chitchat and nothing serious or business like. Its lack of edit feature drove me crazy until I found Telegram which I am so much in love with Telegram. I hope Telegram is secured too like your recommended "Signal"?
4736  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is that a successful IEO? on: January 06, 2021, 08:39:50 AM
We hope that the price of AME token will remain the same as it is now.
This is the type of hope that isn't sustained. With a huge supply of 1,500,000,000 tokens and a generous offer of 👇👇

distributed 20M AME token through a various contest and promotion including bounty and airdrop.
...it will really be very hard not to witness a sharp dump both from those who both at the IEO and the bounty hunters who will be quick to get easy ROI, even if it's less than 10% on their investments. However, if the project has utility, it will surely rise once the initial dump is done.
4737  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum : Its not too late on: January 06, 2021, 04:26:23 AM
It's too late in my opinion. It has already been changed over 30% within the week if I'm correct and having an entry is way more risky as at any point it may get dumped. BTC on rise too and if BTC falls, alts will follow too. I think we should wait more for an entry to ETH.
I guess you would've taken back your utterance if you had your way, seeing how mightily a bull run ETH is having ATM hitting over $1k now. Even though there are a lot of uncertainties around cryptos I have come to realize that the best investment decisions to be made here is never to relay on emotions or sentiments. Concentrate on project utility and roadmap, and then back it up with programme development and news. ETH is likely to continue its bull run into $2k before the last quarters of 2021 from what I am seeing.
4738  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: want to invest .. on: January 06, 2021, 03:32:49 AM

After seeing the growth in the price of the coin in the past few weeks, it leaves us confused as to which investment to make. I want to invest in all of the coins. but only a little capital owned. what action am i taking right now?
Because you complained of paucity of funds, Bitcoin may be out of your league to purchase at the moment. You can seek out credible altcoins with use-case (not necessarily coins in the first 50 on the CMC list) and buy. There are coins less than $0.1 with potential to give a great ROI a few months from now once the alts bull run begins.

Bitcoin's volume is very high and therefore the price increase is limited.
No no no, this is a wrong assumption. There's still much room for movement for Bitcoin. Remember that 2021 is the year to watch out for in the crypto space.
4739  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we in another Bubble? when will it Burst on: January 05, 2021, 06:29:16 PM
Technical analysis is 99% hinged on the fact that history will repeat itself
History has never favored Bitcoin in January 👌
Will  January of 2021 be an exception or obey the tradition of History .
If you want to follow that history repeating itself, then you should remember how Bitcoin got to ATH in Dec of 2017, a post halving year. We can witness correction in January but it won't be anything near a dump. 2021 is another post halving year. History repeating itself will mean we should be looking at Dec for a great ATH.

Shorters get ready..
Too early to start thinking of shorting Bitcoin now. You will miss the train once you sell off, except you're really talented at trading.

NO, It’s Not a financial advice 😋
But of course, it shouldn't even cross anyone's mind to take it as a financial advice seeing that your account is newbie.
4740  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I miss the good old days on: January 05, 2021, 02:10:51 PM
Ouch! Your story in the OP is quite touching. I know how it feels to lose something because you want to keep afloat. Well, just remember that health is more important than anything else. Once we have life, we can have hope of regaining whatever lost. Have this as a consolation. Welcome back, veteran member of this community.
