Honestly, I'm usually quite keen for this kind of writing OP. I think the world of Bitcoin is all the more richer for writings/musings like yours, but for some reason I don't feel as convinced as I was before reading stuff like that time traveller from the future telling us of a dystopian world using Bitcoin.

Can't be dumping fiat into the dustbin though if we're still hoping for a target price that's still carrying a dollar value. So 2027? Too soon, friend.

Not surprisingly, Miami is coming up with all sorts of uses for blockchain technology. The mayor of Miami is a serious fan of cryptocurrencies.

FTX’s Mercedes F1 Ethereum NFTs Come With a Piece of the Actual Car
You can own part of Lewis Hamilton’s or George Russell’s F1 car with FTX’s NFTs for next weekend’s Miami Grand Prix.
In brief
FTX and F1 team Mercedes-AMG Petronas will release NFTs in both free-to-claim and premium auction formats.
Two of the auctioned Ethereum NFTs will be paired with the physical rear wing from Mercedes’ drivers cars at the Miami Grand Prix.
Formula One’s inaugural Miami Grand Prix is set to take place next weekend, and given Miami’s rising crypto city status, it’s no surprise to hear that NFTs will be involved. In this case, the offering isn’t entirely digital—some NFTs come with a piece of a real F1 car too.
.........

It was in Miami where the idea of El Salvador getting chummy with Bitcoin and the personalities related to Bitcoin all happened. I'm not exactly a big fan myself of that kind of adoption, but I will concede that at some point, any kind of utility and progress with Bitcoin, good or bad, will at the very least help it mature even more than it already has (I mean, surely at some point lessons from the rather poor attempt at making Bitcoin legal tender in a fragile economy will help any other would-be adopter plan better).

Back to point though, NFTs already big in F1 no?

Knew something was off when I saw 2/1 odds for PSG but no, I just went ahead and dumped it on two tickets. Just had to. Won the league, nothing to play for, did I listen?

Woodie. Need to look at odds now on what is left for PSG to concede. How many clean sheets this season?
4744  Economy / Speculation / Re: No strength in Bitcoin in higher time frames on: April 29, 2022, 03:02:38 PM
This isn't just data any more, people are losing hope and excitement about bitcoin which is the most dangerous thing. If the data shows that it will go down, a hyped group of people who create a big enough noise could turn that around, but if the community loses hope, regaining it takes a long time.

Dangerous for short term speculation sure, but if you're like most long-termers waiting patiently for the next rally (or let's say even the next ATH), then every dip's just a ridiculous opportunity (just as whales constantly do, as recently as the last weekend).

I'd much rather this "hyped group of people" pour on the noise, find a floor, drain out the weak hands and decide once and for all (for now) where the bottom is, and build up from there.

Too many games taking place at the same time is the worst thing, you cannot follow them all perfectly. ManU, EL and CL matches...
Dunno what's happening in Feyenoord 3-2 Marseille but I am a bit surprised.

I'd definitely have gone to watch either the Roma or Rangers game as the EPL one was pretty dull in first half, but have to admit improved drastically, especially for Chelsea after the restart.

Followed this competition and Europa on text but you know it's never really the same as actually watching.

Feyenoord was my pick on ticket, but so was Chelsea, so meh.
4746  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Semifinals! on: April 29, 2022, 01:25:45 PM
It seems Rangers haven't had such good chances to win trophies for a long time. None of the rivals, neither Leipzig nor West Ham with Eintracht, look like "impassable" rivals. Everyone can be beaten, all teams are approximately equal. It's been a long time since I've had such balanced semifinals.

Indeed, and Rangers probably slightly unlucky to lose to a late-ish goal -- they paid for getting more chances in the first half but poor finishing and by the time Leipzig found their feet, it was with sharper endings, and of course a moment of magic from Angelino. Usually what turns things around in a tight game. Could probably say the same swing at both ends for the Hammers game.

Still, with both winners last night carrying such a slim lead, it's still finely balanced I'd say, though West Ham probably favourites to go out as they'll play away.

^ Well done to big ETH player, I actually took the same handicap on a bet, unfortunately, with Real Madrid also on the ticket haha and at far less impressive wager size.

^^Yeah LFC_Bitcoin, I'd love for Real to be in the final purely for selfish reasons. I think it'd be equally hard to win against either them or City. On the plus side, we'd be the underdogs (again) against City, and that's really how we'd prefer to operate.

Can't believe I didn't know about the Klopp news until now, from reading this forum haha. I'm so happy, I thought he was close to retiring already after he lost mom, but someone mentioned here I think his wife did some convincing. Well done Mrs Klopp if you really had a hand here.

I wouldn't have agreed with Trofo last season about Liverpool not needing anyone... no one needs reminding how bare our back four cupboard was all season, that we actually ended 3rd was a literal miracle. But we've been buying well, haven't we? Plugged the gaps, gave up cover, and can even afford to offload a few players now (and hopefully replace with even better signings).

Injuries can quickly change things though, but we definitely have an entire new season to sort things out with contracts and buys.

Back to the game: not sure where it's headed really. United seem to actually be playing somehow despite Chelsea getting 2 early so-so attempts., except that the extent of their adventure is failed take on by Rashford and failed bicycle kick from Ronaldo.
4749  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Semifinals! on: April 28, 2022, 06:04:09 PM
^^West Ham still the unlikely contender for me, and if there were a bet on Hammers, Foxes to both be in their respective finals, I'd definitely take it. Barca eliminated so it sort of makes it difficult. Sure, their victors are a favourite but I wonder if it's a disservice to Rangers... over 9/1? That's my bet all day any day.
4750  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa Conference League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Round of 16! on: April 28, 2022, 05:18:54 PM
Roma is without a doubt one of the best in Italy, it was difficult to beat them, they are very active. Like you, I'm not sure which of those teams are stronger either, the truth is they're all on a balanced level, I think we have to consider the level of desire and motivation that Roma had at least today to win, Marseille has a lot to give, in fact I think that a team like Marseille gets stronger as it gets closer to the final, I've noticed it, it's like Brazil when it's in the World Cups, at first they play half machine, but then they become unstoppable.

I'm probably going to regret it but yeah a punt on Roma to win and Tammy Abraham sounds perfectly logical but I'm still thinking here that while Mourinho's got the experience, he's going to stubbornly want to prove away defence tactics still work, so Leicester will toil and toil but probably end up getting a slim win.

Which is why I'm having absolutely zero money on tonight's game. Much better to bet big on Chelsea 2/1... heh.
4751  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +82103 units on: April 28, 2022, 04:01:29 PM
Oops Real Madrid, should have opted for Chelsea and Liverpool handicap instead, but never the matter. Europa League action, can we count on Rangers to make up for a possible lost title defence? I say aye!

100 units at Sportsbet on Rangers to WIN vs Leipzig @9.58. Other odds: 9.20
Units advantage: 38

Running advantage after 131 bets: +14100 (+38)
All-time cumulative: +82,141
Running units after 130 bets (16W|114L): +1638 (-100)

I'll help you a little.
And there aren't many F1 drivers worth watching. Here is their list. The number next to the last name is the number of points they scored after racing in Italy on April 24th. Well, then it is very easy to follow their achievements.

Cool, thanks, but that's easy to find/follow. Media obviously will follow the top drivers but it might be cool also to follow a developing driver from his start to end. Tsunoda obviously is in the RB feeder team, so any media highlight is probably also done by RB but I felt a nice vibe from him, terribly young but Tauri seem to have faith in him, and maybe apart from following the pros, could be nice to follow the journey of someone up and coming.

Hard to identify that even when watching the races...
4753  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀-Sportsbet.io-🚀 - NFL Draft Multi Master LIVE Now on: April 28, 2022, 09:07:34 AM
Dominant performance from Liveprool and win against Villareal in Champions League, and I am confident we are going to see them in final this season.
I would like to see Real Madrid as their opponent, so we can avoid having final from clubs in premier league, and we just had Man City playing two times in April, in Fa Cup and Premier League.

I remember some time ago getting quite nauseous from watching too many El Clasico in a short periods, and by that time also, while being the two best teams in La Liga, they probably weren't exactly the two best in Europe, so the games began to get sluggish and safe.

So yeah, City-Liverpool have been 2-2, 2-2, 3-2 this season, but if they meet in the CL final, it's going to be a tight, testy affair. Too much at stake for either side.

Real-Liverpool, please.
4754  Other / Archival / Re: Why has bitcoin adoption failed in El Salvador? on: April 28, 2022, 08:31:13 AM
Best also to reference a point I saw someone already mention in one of these threads: if you don't set yourself up to succeed, you fail.

So many points to address they did not even attempt to, putting the cart before the horse. Basic, fundamental economic structures like IT, communication, education.

Not to forget this wasn't even what the people knew was even an option, let alone that they could vote for it. Yet another agenda pushed down their throats, ignoring the far more significant daily struggles they have to go through.

Country's currently under state of emergency, martial law, by the way. Gang violence, murders, riots, looting. Bukele is cracking down dictator level now on his people, so you bet Bitcoin's the last thing on anyone's mind there. You're a regular El Salvadoran, you're caught between bloodthirsty gangs and an unaccountable government.

How this was ever going to be a champion of/for Bitcoin I never understood.
4755  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Italian Serie A ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: April 27, 2022, 09:20:38 PM
Though for that connection problems. That is why I am paying to my provider for all those sports channels premium amounts so I can watch when I want to in 4K without freezing. All those streams and IPTV lists work perfectly just until CL final comes along and everybody wants to watch Smiley

I have no idea what happened to Fiorentina, that result sure sounds strange, especially coming from Udinese, a team without any special motivation to finish the season strong.

This is my main complaint of my current country of residence. There is NO English provider, just a local one. They want you to pay extra for Fox, which I wouldn't mind, if they showed every game (and not even UCL actually). AND they don't even have ALL the games, plus their broadcast isn't even the fastest (about several seconds more delay). The worse is sometimes you get the dreaded Switch version where they just run through all the games, and badly, when goals are already scored.

I went through this last years already, hunting IPTV shit and what nots... so sad there's no (legal) provider exists except these fools... I've been tempted for some time now to get an (not so legal) tv card/dish... Dazn arrived finally a few months ago but? Only boxing. Haha.

... Liverpool is extremely a better and stronger side, even better than Bayern who Villarreal previously knocked out.

Not sure about that. Bayern were always favourites for this tournament, Liverpool were a distant 3rd or 4th, but you're right, I'd fancied our chances against them had they progressed past Villareal -- I usually feel we're better against attacking opponents than defensive ones, even if recent results and signings suggest we've found a way to break teams down (as Everton most recently showed) without the old nerves we used to get in seasons past. And, as tonight showed, the same patience paid off eventually, soon after the restart. 2 goals, 2 offside goals, VVD trying from range. It is on!

4757  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Italian Serie A ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: April 27, 2022, 07:06:08 PM
So last game I had the gall to put Fiorentina 4-0 and they let me down, and now today they lose... by 4 goals. Don't know what the hell is wrong with them except that I should have learnt my lesson.

A bit annoyed as my Liverpool - Villareal game connection is not working now so waiting for it to return. Taking it out on Fiorentina. Naturally.
4758  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: April 27, 2022, 03:37:42 PM
there is obviously some issue with Lampard, and players are more willing to visit Championship (or team to visit Championship, because most will just go away), than to see Lampard succeed in avoiding relegation

I've mixed feelings about guys like Lamps. He did favourably at Chelsea but there was a deep, deep squad of talent to work with. And I honestly feel that clubs these days aren't willing to look at managers and take a chance with them the way they do with players.

I mean, Lamps didn't have a good managerial CV. He didn't even have the proper licenses for an EPL club (if I recall correctly, his license is actually only typical for reserve squad or 2nd-tier in top leagues).

And this why I had my reservations about Gerrard coming rightaway to EPL (he has a license upgrade above Lamps) -- though I think Villa is a good fit to cut his teeth. I hope he knows (and I'm sure he does) he needs to earn his CV first. Rangers was a great step but it's not quite enough just yet. License is one thing. Experience another. Even Rooney I would say is a more proven manager than Lamps -- but not sexy enough a name for a club like Everton?

I'm not even being hyper critical because they're a rival. Toss that aside they are genuinely one of the worst teams to watch in the Premier League. At least Burnley do have a bit of bite to them. It doesn't help that I really dislike Richardlison as a football player, pretty much everything he does on that football pitch annoys me, but I guess that's part of his quality, he can wind people up on the pitch. Although, even if Everton stay up, I don't see him staying past this summer. A lot of those players have already mentally given up, and they'll just be looking to jump to the next ship.

Nah I get it. It annoys me to see the best player in a team waste his talents writhing on the ground (for example) or like at United sitting on the bench (Sancho was supposed to light the league up, look at how far he's fallen in one season).

^I'd put Hamilton in for a surprise win one of these coming races, could be worth the odds actually.

Yeah, good thing you didn't listen to anyone's advice on your picks because you got first on the leaderboard for the Italian grand prix.
Nice one!
I don't know much about Alpha Tauri except the drivers but nothing on their performance as I never put them on my top 15 spots.

Indeed, it's a nice feeling to be benefactor of dumb luck / beginner's luck. Almost more satisfying that getting picks right for sports you're supposed to know shit about!

Tauri's just very appealing for me because of Tsunoda -- actually saw a series on him last year or year before? Aggressive little guy (literally even) but absolutely looking like he's in it for fun. And I'm kind of waiting for Gasly to avenge his RB demotion.

You could say I don't know much about the sport but I don't mind following the personalities (different rather from football where it's a team thing).
