4781  Economy / Gambling / Re: Champions League Final Predictions Barca Vs Juventus on: May 15, 2015, 01:39:20 PM
I voted 2-0 for barcelona and seems like most people did aswell, but after madrid got rekt previously against juventus you cant really be too sure so im probably not going to bet on the score at least.
4782  Other / Meta / Re: Option "track/follow user" on: May 15, 2015, 12:01:40 PM
You want to be notified via email about dozens of users? That will just spam your inbox with such notifications and I don't see any good use of having this feature.
If you know someone is a scammer or a spammer why not just report him immediately to the admins, obviously if you know he is a spammer its because he has already spammed enough to be considered a spammer, there is no point in waiting for him to spam more to report him

Who said this is for tracking spammers and scammers? Like LaudaM said, Danny, there are are also other users such as DeathAndTaxes and gmaxwell whose posts are great to read. Please don't turn this to a scammer/spammer hunting feature.

OP did: ''Trying to track down spammers and scammers was my original idea behind this feature. cheers'' Right above a few posts. Besides what would this feature be for if not for that?

Skill? You don't need skill. You just go to http://build-a-co.in/, download the generated code, compile it and run it.

Really?? That simple? And will that work like any other altcoin or how does that work? Is it vulnerable to something ?
4785  Economy / Gambling / Re: Real Madrid VS Juventus Your Views ? on: May 13, 2015, 01:23:13 PM
What do you think will go down n todays match guys ? So far juventus are leading in the season with a 2-1 over Real Madrid but this match may come as the point Real Madrid nead ... Post your thoughts and predictions down below Cheesy

Madrid only need 1-0 win to qualified for the final championship. This will be an easy win for them because that they are playing on Santiago Bernabeu but JUventus is not the team to give up easily. You can expect them to be defending the whole half of the pitch if it is needed

Well the fact that they are behind makes it more likely that they will go aggressive and try to score as many goals as possible and the fact that they are playing on Bernabeu also will help them but who knows
4786  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: where you get bitcoin every day? on: May 13, 2015, 06:54:44 AM
I got some satoshi from faucets.

Why so many people are telling that they get bitcoin from doing faucets? I think this is all just wasting time by clicking captcha. The payment is better signature campaign rather than faucet. The time and information are good to compare to faucet. You can't get anything from faucet except that low payout

indeed the result of the faucet is very small, but if you play smart faucet and have a lot of referrals and play faucet that many, certainly the results will be felt quite Smiley

I still dont understand why people is butthurt about faucets, trashtalking for no reason, the faucets tell you clearly what you are going to get, its not like they are lying to you, you know how much you are going to get from each faucet on average, from that you can calculate how much you can get in 1 hour to see if its worth it or not. There is absolutly no point in trashtalking about it. If you wanted to trashtalk about something you should complain about gambling
in my opinion, faucets are only good for two kind of users,
first for someone who wants to start with bitcoin and doesn't want to spend money to get his/her first bitcoin, or maybe doesn't have money to spend on it.
and second is people who can get a lot of refferals so every claim they make is worth much much more that average.

But they are also helpful for people who want a little bit of bitcoins, because lets be honest you cant really buy low amounts of bitcoins easily, you would most likely get scammed if you use paypal and the other options wont let you buy 0.0001 bitcoins for example
4787  Other / Off-topic / Re: How does a black hole attract light? on: May 13, 2015, 06:53:10 AM
A photon has energy, which is equivalent to mass in terms of how Einstein used it.

  It therefore interacts via gravity.

Oh so pretty much E=mc2  right?
4788  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitdice.me it is negative EV for investors on: May 13, 2015, 06:51:44 AM
Let's break the maths down a bit:

[...]
So let's plug that back in the equation:

(-10BTC)(0.495)+((10BTC)(0.505) * 0.9)

which gives:

-0.405 BTC

The same number the OP gave. In effect, the investors have an expected loss of 0.405 BTC. JD makes up for this, by using a high-water mark on commissions, so that if you've taken an investing loss you get pure +EV until you're eventually back in the profit

I calculated the EV for the investor when there's a single bet of 10 BTC at 2x when you first asked, without reading on to see how you calculated it. I wrote:

Quote
player loses 50.5% of the time, investor wins 10 BTC, pays 1 BTC commission, net win +9
player wins 49.5%% of the time, investor loses 10 BTC, net win -10

EV for investor: 0.505 * 9 - 0.495 * 10 = -0.405 = -4.05%

so we agree. If there's only a single 10@2x bet in the first week, the EV for the investor is -4.05% of the amount wagered.

However, I disagree that JD makes up for this by using the high-water mark. While the high-water mark helps a little, I think the most significant factor is that we only take commission on *net* profits, at the end of each week. There's never only a single bet, and as soon as there are more than 17 bets, the EV for the investor goes positive.

Here's the EV for the investor for various numbers of bets:

Quote
  1 -4.0500%
   2 -1.5502%
   4 -0.9254%
   6 -0.6130%
   8 -0.4177%
  10 -0.2811%
  12 -0.1786%
  14 -0.0981%
  16 -0.0327%
  17 -0.0327%
  18  0.0218%
  20  0.0681%
  30  0.2266%
  50  0.3872%
 100  0.5501%
 200  0.6654%
 500  0.7672%
1000  0.8176%

and the script I wrote to calculate that:

Code:
#!/usr/bin/env python

f = {}
def factorial(x):
    if f.has_key(x): return f[x]
    if x < 2: return 1
    f[x] = x * factorial(x - 1)
    return f[x]

def c(n, k): return factorial(n) / (factorial(k) * factorial(n - k))

p = 0.495
for trials in [1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 17, 18, 20, 30, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000]:
    sum = 0
    for wins in range(trials + 1):
        profit = (trials - 2 * wins) * 10
        if profit > 0: profit = profit * 0.9
        v = 100 * c(trials, wins) * p**wins * (1-p)**(trials-wins)
        sum += v * profit
    print "%4d %7.4f%%" % (trials, sum / (trials * 10))

Edit: I would have run it for bigger numbers of bets, but the script fails shortly after 1000, with errors like:

    v = 100 * c(trials, wins) * p**wins * (1-p)**(trials-wins)
OverflowError: long int too large to convert to float

and:

RuntimeError: maximum recursion depth exceeded

I guess I need a better implementation of c().

So what that pretty much means is that the more bets the more chances you get to profit from the site? When that guy lost 7k btc at your casino how much money would an investor have won if he invested lets say 10 BTC?
4789  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where can I invest? on: May 13, 2015, 06:48:40 AM
don't know if someone's already said this, but investing in popular dice sites with bitcoin may be a great idea; youll contribute to the site's bankroll and be paid a comission of the site''s winnings for it. he dice site in my signature, dadice, is pretty popular and offers an easy to use investing option.

What are the stats on the bankroll?

Average daily volume?

How much commission does the site get?

If you really want to invest in a casino, use just-dice because is the most trusted, you need CLAMS tho. But investing in a casino is risky aswell and you can end up with negative profit just as easy
4790  Other / Off-topic / How does a black hole attract light? on: May 12, 2015, 08:06:35 PM
The speed of light is the maximum speed because photons have no mass so they cannot accelerate more than that, how can something that has no mass be atracted by a black hole (gravity)
4791  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where can I invest? on: May 12, 2015, 06:49:57 PM
Contact people in the project development theres always someone looking for funding there and will appreciate the support and the community will appreciate the support of bitcoin businesses.

Interesting,  I've have a few business plans that I want to implement.  You think I might be able to find support in project development?

If it is a really good project you might but take in count that people will most likely not trust you, the amount of scams that have happened here is too big to trust anyone blindly

I dont think people is interested, im not and i will tell you why, first of all its slow, second you wont win more than just gambling on a casino wich is way faster and you can have fun while you play poker, for example, you dont really have any fun in playing lottery so you might aswell play dice wich is faster and pretty much the same thing. And the lotteries, usually, have even worse odds than dice
4794  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: 1BTC - Bitcoin Treasure Hunt - Can you crack the code? [competition now closed] on: May 12, 2015, 03:52:42 PM
OOH finally you got it, i was starting to get skeptical but im glad you got it, it looks really nice but i thought it would be nr 001 not nr 019, What is the price of one of those if you wanted to sell it?

Probably the market price of 1BTC , Azure will have a public key visible on the back of the coin, enabling him  to verify it current value on the block chain.

He can cash it any time he wants by importing private key, which is hidden on the coin somewhere.

I suppose it would increase in value because of its vanity , the future would only tell if it would be of better value.
Some collectors would pay over the market price for this coin.

So you mean he can actually get 1 virtual bitcoin from the real coin but he would keep the coin aswell wouldnt he? Or am i missing something

4796  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: lottery on: May 12, 2015, 01:42:44 PM
Im sorry to tell you but these lottery games never end up working too well here, unless you have a website already and you would definitely need to use an escrow. Also you should move this to the gambling section not here.

you can invest in a btc talk account that can get other btc with a signature campaign.

or maybe you can make some "buy and sell" with high skill sector (like stamps, coins, medals etc) and try to get some returns in shorts times.

Invest in signature campaign is really low risk investment  Grin
Most of signature campaigns in Bitcointalk are trusted and good payment Cool

investing in an account to join sig campaign is quite risk friendly indeed. but the payouts are quite small unless you're a very active poster. some people make hundreds of posts per week which is insane.

I would not "invest" in a account by buying it.  I would invest time and get raise up a account.   Payout's vary but full member and over are decent.   If you look here there are many options - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=615953.0

The payouts do beat faucets.  And it's posting is something you would do anyways.  But do make sure not to let quality fall down of posts.   They need some content, if not your just spamming.

I know, 'investing' in an account is so weird.  I can barely call it investing.

Something about the ethical issues.

And yeah doing sig campaigns is better than faucets but the income stream is still not gigantic.  There are better income streams that you can leverage with your Bitcoins.

Its actually, probably the biggest income you can get right now in bitcoins without investing any money or bitcoins since faucets do not give a lot of bitcoins and solving captchas for bitcoins doesnt give you a lot either so sig campaigns are pretty much the best, correct me if im wrong.
4799  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitdice.me it is negative EV for investors on: May 12, 2015, 01:20:50 PM
the house edge is expressed in chance of win and chance of loss from the investors perspective.

But what is the problem of that? If investing into the site would be always +EV then everyone would invest and wait to win their money, eventually, that would just ruin the site, when a site allows investments is also because they can win from it as far as i understand it
4800  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: where you get bitcoin every day? on: May 12, 2015, 01:18:34 PM
Signature day, bitcoin mining, traded in a few phones I had sitting there that should have been sold long ago.  Been a heck of a day!

I think mining altcoin better than bitcoin mining. because altcoin very quickly profitable, just that you are smarter in choosing a coin that will be in mine

Altcoin is a gamble on a lot.  So many are pump and dump.   And if you are talking about scrypt mining, it's been almost dead.  No one has released a new miner in a LONG time.  The A2 is still one of the best this shows there is little profit, and manufactures are looking at building BTC miners, not scrypt.

Bitcoin mining is more stable.  But yes if you mine a certain altcoin and get lucky there are huge profit's to be had.  But a lot of possibility of loss.

yes of course all jobs at risk, but the risk for mining bitcoin is not too big, compared to mining altcoin that anytime could lead scam

It would still not be too big of a loss since you are not spending too much money on electricity and i would only mine 1 day or a few not more every altcoin, if only 1 of them gets a good price you would make a really good profit since you can mine a lot of it at start with the difficulty being really low
