481  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Ethereum just got personal for me. on: September 29, 2017, 02:42:33 AM
Honestly, this seems like such a ridiculous argument to me. If you're at a party having some beers, presumably with girls around, why are you arguing about ETH vs. BTC.

It's like arguing over Batman vs. Superman. Neither of you will admit you're wrong, so the argument will never end.

Just have another beer.

483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Celebrity Endorsed Cryptocurrency on: September 28, 2017, 10:32:29 PM
Stox: Floyd Mayweather, Luis Suarez
Centra: Floyd Mayweather, DJ Khaled
Cobin Hood: Jamie Foxx.
The Game (Rapper): Paragon
Max Keiser: Maxcoin
Paris Hilton: Lydian Coin

Whats your take on celebrity endorsements with the crypto world? Do you think it actually helps? Question is how many fans actually know and care about crypto to actually invest??
Don't forget Ashton Kutcher who regularly talks about cryptos on twitter https://twitter.com/aplusk
Render token last time

Ashton Kutcher is actually a very bright and tech savvy guy, so I believe he'd understand any crypto product he endorsed. That doesn't necessarily mean it's a good product if he's just doing it to get paid, but he's someone I'd trust to at least understand what he's promoting.

Are there any estimates on what kind of returns the various trading strategies will target? It would be good to have a sense of this if possible.

The returns from the performance of the DAFs will be made in DAF tokens, people will need DAF tokens to use the DAF, because if we just let the fees be in the same currency or asset that the DAFs are working on, we wouldn't get many returns, unless they all are tokenized in the ethereum network, so they need to be converted into a token, so it becomes neutral and could be transferred to token holders.

Nevermind my question. I was able to get a send of what I was looking for by reviewing the 10 DAFs outlined in your blackpaper.

But won't each DAF have its own return target, or perhaps an alpha target? I know each DAF will have a different strategy, and therefore a different target, but I'm just trying to understand if these are generally high return quantitative strategies, or more modest strategies.

Maybe the question can't be answered because there are infinite possibilities, but I'm just trying to understand what you currently envision.

bounty still open ?

Yeah, the bounty program was extended in connection with the ICO postponement. The new dates should be in the original post.

There is a bunch of shitty ICOs out there. Also did you guys read this? Malicious Smart contract hack on etherdelta https://themerkle.com/hacker-uses-malicious-smart-contract-to-trick-etherdelta-users/

Yeah, I saw that. Staying on top of everything in the crypto space feeks like a full time job now.
489  Other / Off-topic / Re: RANT: ICO Announcement Threads on: September 28, 2017, 01:40:36 PM
the issue for me is that i can sometime "get lost" - cant find whats really important beneath all whats not.

Exactly. Even if my question has been asked before, I'm not going to read through 100 pages of fluff to find out. But if I post a question it ends up getting lost because no one else is reading it for the same reason.

These signature campaigns are what's really to blame.
490  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Celebrity Endorsed Cryptocurrency on: September 28, 2017, 01:35:25 PM
I'm not sure what to think about Centra using celebrity endorsement. They must be really expensive and 99% of people it will reach probably don't own any crypto and would have no use for the card.

I'm sure it's great for branding and awareness, but I can't imagine it'll have a good ROI. I guess this is a sign ICOs are raising too much money and they have to figure out ways to spend it.

Where i can see bonus conditions on crowdsale?
It's been listed on the thread that it's 30% extra with a minimum investment of 0.01 ETH

That is strangely low minimum investment for a bonus, but i don't complain. more of investors is merrier. Everyone will hype this to their friends and that's free advertisement!

Hopefully, it doesn't foster the attention of ICO pnd whales/groups. Either way, it's a good deal for any one who have already researched NapX and deemed it a reliable ICO to invest in.

I'm surprised Napoleonx hasn't gotten more attention. I think it's one of the better ICOs coming out soon. You can miss good projects if you rely on buzz alone.
492  Other / Off-topic / Re: RANT: ICO Announcement Threads on: September 28, 2017, 12:07:35 PM
People are paid to post and keep threads bumped.

What do you expect?

I know why it's happening so I'm not surprised or confused by it, but it's still frustrating.
493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How long did you wait before do you sell your ICO Coins ? on: September 28, 2017, 05:25:47 AM
Yes thats what i want to know.
What i see sometimes its good to sell when it comes to exchange because the price go up.
After that the price go mostly down for months.

On the other side there is a way to wait 1-2 years and hope the project not die lol and it goes moon

so how do YOU handle ICO ?

I've sold a couple relatively quickly, but I generally hold on to them if I believe in the project long term. I'll take some profits off the table if a coin moons though.
494  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Bitcoin will survive after 100 year ? on: September 28, 2017, 05:24:26 AM
I am asking this just to see the different opinions of Bitcoin community about its long term potential

I know Bitcoin is actually strong enough and stable as well

But what do you think about it after 100 years ?

I think it has a good shot unless there's an organized effort among global powers to shut it down (which I think is unlikely).

If Bitcoin is here in 5 years, it'll be here in 100 years.
495  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is ICO regulation good or bad? on: September 28, 2017, 05:19:52 AM
More and more countries are planning to regulate ICOs. China, Canada, Russia,... I think this in an development nobody can stop. Do you think it is good or bad that ICOs will be more regulated in the near future? What positive and negative influences will it probably have?

I think there will be more investors like professional managed funds or even retirement funds which will invest into ICOs. The prices for ICOs will then become even more expensive and make it more difficult to make profits for small investors.

I think it's good to a certain extent, but regulations can go too far.

I like the free market nature of ICOs right now, but they are getting carried away a bit.
496  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why India Coin is the best buy hands down on: September 28, 2017, 05:07:42 AM
I recall someone mentioning Indicoin recently as well, which is different - www.indicoin.org.in

I haven't taken the time to look at it yet, but I made a note of it when I first heard it mentioned.
497  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Whats a new upcoming coin you recommend me invest my time and money on? on: September 28, 2017, 05:00:44 AM
I like Swarm and NapoleonX right now. They are both pretty solid, but I'd consider them to be long term holds and can't speculate on what they might do in the short term.
498  Other / Off-topic / Re: Job Vs Bitcoin on: September 28, 2017, 04:54:37 AM
The better solution is to have a job so you can buy more Bitcoin. Remember the old adage that past performance is not an indicator of future performance. You never know what can happen to your investments, so unless you happen to have invested really early on and have a LOT of Bitcoin, I wouldn't quit your job.
499  Other / Off-topic / RANT: ICO Announcement Threads on: September 28, 2017, 04:51:18 AM
Does anyone else get frustrated with the amount of pointless chatter in Announcement threads? You can literally have 100 pages of comments with very little substance, so posts with real comments/questions for the development team get missed and go unanswered.
500  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as salary for a regular job? on: September 28, 2017, 04:46:23 AM
Would you accept bitcoin as your salary in your profession, especially if you work in other country?

For me yes I will accept bitcoin because we can exchange it in our local currency.

Why would you want to accept Bitcoin if you were just going to exchange it back to the currency you're currently being paid in?

I wouldn't want to be paid in Bitcoin at this point. I hold cryptos because I believe in the long-term value of it, but I still need most of what I earn in fiat to pay my bills. Until Bitcoin becomes much less volatile and I can buy a carton of milk with it, I'd prefer to be paid in fiat.
