Also, that Bugatti at the end ...lol Yes, good job Onetime. It's great to see people being enthusiastic and producing content like this. I agree with YourMother though, the "sell job" factor is pretty high. I think we need to be very careful in making statements like (at 3:23) "running your own masternodes pays a guaranteed lucrative return". It's certainly not guaranteed nor assured to be "lucrative" as DRK (and all crypto) could completely tank at any time and the continued gradual decline of BTC's price doesn't auger well in the short term. However, I understand what you're trying to convey and how you're attempting to reach new people that don't know about Darkcoin and for that you should be commended. The other section of the video which continues to be of concern to me is how sound bites from Ron Paul's interview have been selected to avoid the parts where he mentions Bitcoin, making it appear, because of the way it immediately follows the Bloomberg segment, he's talking about Darkcoin. I just think this is lacking in integrity. From the original Fox Business video the full sentence he's saying (at 6:18) is "If Bitcoin is out there and gold is out there it can be a participant in bringing down the dollar". There's no reason why you can't include that whole sentence to avoid a manipulative edit, otherwise you're misleading the viewer into believing Ron Paul has made positive comments about Darkcoin when he clearly hasn't. ok, I can change whatever you guys don't like. it is a lucrative return guaranteed, that statement is true because the masternode payments in DRK are a return on the DRK investment, regardless of what happens with the fiat price. but I will change it to say "a good return paid in Darkcoins", how does that sound? and I'll re-word the other things that sound like a sell job. Is there any guide explaining how to run multiple wallets in same OS, or you folks use virtual machine for each MN address? I have many on one windows machine, each wallet has its own copy of the blockchain though Folder structure is like this: C:\Users\Stonehedge\AppData\Roaming\DarkCoin\MN1\ C:\Users\Stonehedge\AppData\Roaming\DarkCoin\MN2\ C:\Users\Stonehedge\AppData\Roaming\DarkCoin\MN3\ C:\Users\Stonehedge\AppData\Roaming\DarkCoin\MN4\ C:\Users\Stonehedge\AppData\Roaming\DarkCoin\MN5\ C:\Users\Stonehedge\AppData\Roaming\DarkCoin\MN6\ ... Command line switch for MN10 would be as follows. When you first execute the command a new wallet is created in the subfolder and blockchain downloaded. darkcoin-qt.exe -datadir=C:\Users\Stonehedge\AppData\Roaming\DarkCoin\MN10\ that's unnecessary. I recommend: create a data directory folder, name it something other than Darkcoin. for example, C:/hotdog/ create another folder to put the .exe in, for example C:/hamburger/ and rename darkcoin-qt.exe to something else. for example, hamburger.exe for your masternode #1, create a .conf file in the C:/hamburger/ folder, for example taco1.conf for your masternode #2, create taco2.conf for your masternode #3, create taco3.conf etc... for your masternode #1, create a shortcut to hamburger.exe, and name the shortcut for example taco1. click Properties, and change the Start in: to C:/hamburger/ and change Target: to C:/hamburger/hamburger.exe -datadir=C:/hotdog/ -wallet=taco1 -conf=C:/hamburger/taco1.conf when you first open the taco1 shortcut, it will create a new wallet called taco1 in the C:/hotdog/ folder and use the taco1.conf from the C:/hamburger/ folder. create a new shortcut for each additional masternode the same way. once your masternodes are running, I recommend keeping all the wallet files somewhere safe until you need to access them. import all their private keys into a single wallet if you want to cash in your masternode payments all at once using coin control. I'm creating an instructional video tutorial for all of this, plus how to set up masternodes and update them. -onetime |

Ok, I've been asked to help someone tomorrow, to update their masternode, so I made a video tutorial. Here is my first youtube upload! TanteStefana2, I appreciate your effort making an instructional/tutorial video, but there is a much easier way to quickly update mns. I could make both a mn setup tutorial video and a mn update video, making it easy for any novice with 1,000 DRK to set up his own masternode the right way. but since I have my own mns and I'm greedy, I don't know if it's in my interests to make a tutorial showing how to make more mns to compete with mine for payments. on one hand, if more DRK are removed from circulation to make mns, less DRK would be available in the market so the price might go up. and it would also be good for Darkcoin that there would be more mns running. but on the other hand, when more mns compete with mine, I get fewer mn payments. (I know mn % of block reward will increase each month. but in the meantime, the frequency of payments I get depends on the number of mns running.) so, should I make an instructional tutorial video? would that be in my interests to do?  Evan's presentation video is great, very informative about Darkcoin, Darksend, InstantX, and the mn network. I think I can present all this information in a Darkcoin video that would interest regular people who don't know much about crypto-currency. I'm not sure if I should get started now on making this video, or if I should wait until more improvements happen and the interface is more user-friendly. it would take a lot of my time to put this video together, I wouldn't want to have to completely re-do the video when new things happen. but I think now would be a good time for an informative promotional video to make people aware of Darkcoin, spread knowledge, and create excitement. should I get started on it now? |
