Hi BlackArrow

Can we have a confirmation on the official cut-off for batch 1? According to bobsag we have already reached that checkpoint?

Cheers

My 2 miners are running thanks to sushi who had a long teamviewer session with me to fix my problem. During this buy hes been nothing but amazing, communacation with the guy couldnt be any better.

If you appreciate how he is doing this group buy do what I did and sent him a little something , he deserves it.

+1

I am going to concur with that. So far SUSHI  has been extremely helpful. I have ordered and received 5 units and of this one unit had a faulty board, which I am now working with SUSHI to get it replaced. He has been nothing but helpful and responsive so far. I just hope he does not "burn" himself out  Cheesy

I'm having problems connecting too, maybe it's some DNS server or something being wacky. I also had issues connecting to the website (I got forced into a redirect via cloudfire for a good 10 seconds) Also Bitcointalk.org was down for a while for me.

I concur. Had the same issues earlier on the day too.

485  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Reuse chips from defective BitFurryBoards (Cryptx version) ? on: December 09, 2013, 02:40:08 AM
I have ordered one board from hashbuster for testing. Will see how it goes. I doubt I will make back much from these but would be a fun project nonetheless to work with (assuming that I can get it to work)

486  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Reuse chips from defective BitFurryBoards (Cryptx version) ? on: December 08, 2013, 10:55:31 AM
no solder paste needed just flux there is enough left on chips from old board  Smiley
And it is doable with a heat gun i have use that and my ir rework both work fine just need to be careful with heat gun not to blow surrounding caps away  Grin

This would make a neat DIY project. I plan to order the boards and give it a go. Any additional last minute advice. And like I said its been a very very long time I've done any kind of soldering.    Cheesy

Hi

I am interested in reusing chips from 2 old broken BitFurry boards (Cryptx version) and would like to know how feasible would this idea be. Can I order the full board minus the ASIC chips and have them soldered on the new board?

How much would the board cost (excluding the chips) ?

Cheers

Get the pcb without asic from here swop chips  job done.
Worked for me Smiley
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=293668.0

Thanks. That looks interesting. I am not sure how practical or doable would it be to manually desolder the chips using a heatgun (from the old board) and resolder them on the new board with solder paste+heatgun combo.

489  Bitcoin / Hardware / Reuse chips from defective BitFurryBoards (Cryptx version) ? on: December 08, 2013, 06:59:18 AM
Hi

I have in possession 2 defective boards. One that refused to boot up upon delivery and another with a ripped USB connector (and defective canbus)

The first board never hashed before but the second board was hashing up until the USB connector issue. And for some reason the canbus does not work on this unit.

I was thinking if it was possible to recycle the Bitfurry ASIC chips from these boards and somehow get them converted to USB miners? Any suggestions or ideas or should I just use them as paper weights?  Cheesy

Thanks

PPS: looking at my stats so far, it appears the newer unit has a much lower number of stales/24hrs but slightly more low difficulty shares. I havent been monitoring stats very long yet to see if its random or a trend yet, but has anyone else noticed something like this?

any idea whats causing the difference? I can repost the stats in a few hours once they are larger numbers, but the version1 unit still produces a higher number of HW and rejected

Yes, the newer unit has a much lower number of stales. But HW of these two version are same.
If you care about the stale number of the old version, please try to update the firmware.
Download: https://github.com/AntMiner/AntGen1/tree/master/firmware

Thanks successfully updated the firmware of my rev1 units.

Did that help?

It would be nice to get an official updated firmware from Bitmain that addresses these high HW error issues. I am sure we can be getting much more out of these units.

Cheers

Sushi:

Can you please check my order? I should have 3 units shipped for this transaction number as I paid 12.75 BTC for this transaction. However on your main list, you have it listed down as 8.50 for 2 units only instead of 12.75 for 3 units

Anyone got a suggestions for a good PSU for these units? Im UK based so need 240v

Thanks.

Apparently they pull around 375W so a good single rail 600-650W Gold PSU would be my choice.

Something like EVGA SuperNova NEX 650W '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply
180GH/s 480W

Kano

I've measured mine with a simple watt meter and I am only using around 37x watt (on 240v) and getting around 179GH/s

I would like to reserve 3 units if these are still available and will be shipped by December 3. I already have a unit paid for in this batch earlier

Blackarrow asking customers if they will accept delay for switch to 20nm;

http://ecointalk.net/topic/289-20nm-or-28nm/

I hope they are not seriously considering these. Any kind of delays (2-3 months) would suck
