162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XCP] Counterparty Protocol, Client and Coin (built on Bitcoin) - Official on: April 23, 2014, 07:37:00 AM

in my opinion no - this is an organically growing project - which is totally fine. https://www.counterparty.co/counterparty-founders-inside-bitcoins-hong-kong

.....

To Xnova, PP and Cityglut:

I think this is big, for the core counterparty founders to come out of the dark. My thoughts are given the current environment, for a platform like counterparty to be taken seriously by the "business" community the need to put a face(s) behind the project is essential. Now that the core founders can come out openly and talk about the project, there is an increased accountability and the potential for more exposure (i.e via talk, interviews, conferences, etc)

May I be the first to say, thank you Robby, Adam and Evan (of the counterparty founders)

Cheers

I don't see how they can't break the deal to be honest. I would appreciate them sticking to their terms, (and might argue loudly for it) but how to iron things out so that people won't feel tricked is going to be difficult.
Not difficult.  They announced the rules.  Those rules were available for all to see and understand.  They must stick to those terms.  They cannot change the terms in a material way which cause severe losses to those who relied upon the stated rules.  I too will argue quite loudly.

Now everyone can understand the function of regulation.  Regulation would put in place the conditions which prevent those raising funds from changing the rules midstream - causing losses for many.

David can't just unilaterally declare the previously promised .2 invalid.  This is complete nonsense.  He will learn a very hard lesson if he doesn't (within 24 hours) withdraw that change to the scheme which was widely advertised and promoted all last week.

So this is an argument which wants a group of people who have equally invested to be given less - to be disadvantaged, for what...?  Why would you want that?  I can't see there being anything fucking 'wrong' that a decent person would object to if;
-nobody gets any less than promised
-btc investor reward is raised to be representatively fair
How could that not be the right way to go forward?
The rules were clearly stated in good time.  We didn't set those rules.  Whether they were 'fair' or 'unfair' according to you or others doesn't matter.  These were the rules set forth by MaidSafe.  These were the stated terms of the deal.

Many people relied upon those stated rules.  That reliance upon the rules was proximate cause of the damaged suffered by those who relied upon the rules.

You can see where this is going.

What of it Irvine?  You want to comment about this?

I doubt there would be any drastic changes to the crowdfunding rules , because that would literally mean the death of the project before it even gets started

I click "send" (near my MSC balance), then I verify the address, fulfill Amount, Fee, and To, and click "Prepare". It says: "Not enough bitcoin funds on addresses" which is false (I should have enough bitcoins to cover the fee, right?)
here the same...
 Angry
Another guy said something about needing 0,015 BTC in his account in order to send MSC, I don't really know anything about how it works though.

Either way the MSC address is closed or in the process of being closed for donations, so even if you manage to send your transaction you'll just get it returned.

Might be time to try cash out of MSC, but I'd wait for David Irvine's official response that he posted about first..

MSC deposits looks closed as stated on google groups. The last conversion was a few hours ago.

The BTC deposits are still open though

so what's the status of investment? How many percent are we bought in so far?

We should be about 65% through at this point of writing. This is taking into calculation the first day bonus of 40%

how can you find this out? I would like to monitor the sales too.  I just bought a little amount.  curious to see how it goes

What happened to the mastercoin ipo address? why is it removed from the homepage?

I remember reading that they were expecting 70% ++ of the coins to be coming from BTC. But instead it looks like it was the other way around and everyone was cashing in on their MSC instead.

This is absurd. I bought mastercoins only to convert them to safecoins and now I am at a loss (like 50%) only because I am 3 hours late.
They should have done their calculations before, not changing the rule of the game while the IPO is going.

I feel scammed.
It's like a sort of pump and dump on mastercoin prices.

If not scam, it's too silly for a company who have such great plans.

I do not believe Maidsafe is a scam .... but it sure was a pump and dump for Mastercoin.

Yep the numbers on MyMastercoins jump around a bit.

Seems that this sale will be done in the near future in any case.
What I am not sure of is if the 17000/btc includes the 40% early incentive that everyone so far is expecting.
If it doesn't then we might be over 43% already.

edit: hmm was replying to a post that has vanished now Undecided

sorry, deleted the post to avoid confusion

The intial number at myMastercoins were not correct as they showing 3 times the actual value, however, I think they fixed it later.

We have received 2,000 BTC just in 5 minutes.
https://blockchain.info/address/1KHfLixa2idRnZXMUfEisBati1vpywaH6E
thanks for your guy's support and trust!

Congrats! Best of luck with the crowd funding efforts ... I do hope this turns out to be something that that truly brings real benefits to the community

And If there is something I must say, I have to hand it to the Master Protocol guys when it come to various schemes for "increasing" the value of the MSC (from all fronts and angles)  Wink

I thought the address was not posted yet. Scam?

Check the countdown http://www.safecoin.io/

Countdown has came and passed.. So what's up with the IPO?  Smiley

mtbitcoin, I want to report a bug:

http://www.blockscan.com/address.aspx?q=1QBYgXMTqEQNgoVotQN2iP1sPhHRPEoDHb
In this page, The system show "Issued 1000000000000000 BAAA"

But

http://www.blockscan.com/assetinfo.aspx?q=BAAA
In this page, The system show " Total Amount Issued:[Issue No.1 at Block#294884] 10000000"

1000000000000000  unequal to 10000000

Sorry! My English is poor!

Thank you for the reporting the issue. I have made the necessary adjustments to address the issue
174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BlockScan] Counterparty (XCP) Block Explorer on: April 14, 2014, 12:41:27 PM
mtbitcoin, can you add the ability to query a transaction by tx_hash?

Today I can do:
http://blockscan.com/tx.aspx?q=6928

I'd like to be able to also do:
http://blockscan.com/tx.aspx?q=8e52bf677080723cf3de5cfe926186497123e35fc7de82e9b61dfbb3970cef41

The problem with tx_index is that they can change between versions of counterparty (depending on the exact parsing rules). tx_hash does not have this side-effect, so it is the better absolute reference to use for transactions.

Once this is in blockscan, we can update our links to you guys in counterwallet (we link to you for transactions in address history, buy/sell, etc) Smiley

Sorry, missed this request.

All done. http://blockscan.com/tx.aspx?txhash=8e52bf677080723cf3de5cfe926186497123e35fc7de82e9b61dfbb3970cef41

Please pass the parameter string txhash. Blockscan will expect an exact match for the tx_hash

Cheers

I'm proud to announce the immediate launch of the Spolcyc Mining Experiment for Gigahashes (SMEG). SMEG is demonstration of the super awesome-ness of Counterparty and what can be set up over a cup of orange juice. My friends and I had a few spare ASICs lying around. I decided I might as well do something interesting with them and here it is

Congrats +1

I had my refund this week. They sent me a mail, I have had to sign the bitcoin address y paid from saying that after the refund I have nothing to claim from BA nor them from me.

In the mail also they say that they have had problems changing dollars to bitcoin and they only refund the bitcoins I paid minus $50 fee. So I received 9,0.... bitcoin.

In the mail says that If you don't accept this conditions, the order will go on.

I accepted it, I lost more than $2000 in this, but it's better than wait for a unprofitable machine.

Sigh... so let me get this straight, they refund you lesser amounts of bitcoin than what you paid for (in USD). I wonder if the tables were turned around and the BTC price was higher, would they still be refunding you the same amount of in BTC   Huh

A new idea about assets.

Who can build a website about credible assets information and ratings?

FYI only

There is a basic listing of assets information available at http://blockscan.com/asset.aspx

As an asset owner you can also update the information on the asset page independently via message signing.

Send me a PM about those performance concerns, so that we can work on mitigating them, because everything really should be able to go through the API.

I was not implying that there was performance issues with the API, but just that reading from the DB directly is naturally faster and more efficient than going through the API.

On a side note, if I was building this from scratch today I would probably consider doing this via API. However, most of the code was already done before an API was available.
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XCP] Counterparty Protocol, Client and Coin (built on Bitcoin) - Official on: April 09, 2014, 04:28:54 PM

13J6wg7BdvjnPHHRPUp1EQBx6Z7KW5RcZw definitely is strange. There is no record in counterpartyd logs for transfers of XCP to this address. I'd say that it couldn't be a coincidence that there is a send of 0.5 UNIT.

I'd need more context for 17Vxv31VfpFY6tWBBB93tcSgP4SYeqzTTb. It's possible for that to be just a mistake from the command line. You don't have to btcpay from the address you originally made the order.

Yep, there was a bug, which we've now fixed. (See that thread for more info.)

That bug was with fees and slow tx confirmations. That negative balance is a problem with Blockscan: in counterpartyd, the balances of that address are
Quote
> counterpartyd.py balances 13J6wg7BdvjnPHHRPUp1EQBx6Z7KW5RcZw
Balances
+-------+-----------+
| Asset |   Amount  |
+-------+-----------+
|  BTC  | 0.0103172 |
|  HATE | 999000000 |
|  UNIT |    0.5    |
|  XCP  |    0.5    |
+-------+-----------+

I have updated to the latest build and from what I can see the balances are now correct. However, as there were some syntax changes in the database "status" fields and change from using "amount"->"quantity" in the field naming, this has somewhat thrown a portion of the blockscan code off balance as I directly read from the DB for performance reasons (vs. using the API).

I've fixed what I know off but I might have missed something. If there are any other discrepancies please drop me  PM

Cheers
