301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XCP] Counterparty Protocol, Client and Coin (built on Bitcoin) - Official on: January 25, 2014, 03:59:59 PM
Hi PhantonPhreak/Xnova

With reference to the Counterparty API, is there a way to set it up so that It accepts request from non local IP (external public IP)

Cheers
302  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Introduction to DualMiner USB (could mine both BTC and LTC) on: January 24, 2014, 04:13:25 PM
Hi

I think was one of the first to receive the actual sample unit and when I got it there were still no downloads available from the http://support.dualminer.com site. However, shortly after posting on the forums I was informed that the custom built cgminer was available for download.

Once that was available I got this setup and running as per the instructions available at http://support.dualminer.com

Below are some pics ..

Picture of the package received. This was shipped directly from TNT china. I believe for those us in ASIA the packages were sent directly from China

The miner was wrapped in foam sheets

The actual miner

I first did a test running with the DIP switch set just to mine at LTC mode. As advertised this ran around 70Kh and they match up with what is reported by the pool

I then did a second test running with the DIP switch set to mine in the hybrid BTC/LTC mode. When set to run in this mode 2 instances of the custom cgminer built is executed. One for BTC mining and the other for LTC. The speeds are similar to what was advertised and they roughly match up with what is reported by the pool

Other observations and remarks:

1. Test environment was an old dell laptop running Windows 7 32 bit

2. The unit was somewhat warm to touch and if running more than few units I would definitely prefer to run this with some sort of active cooling (i.e a simple fan blowing over the units)

3. I initially had issues getting it to run in the Hybrid mode when running this directly from the laptop's USB port. But once I had this on a powered hub there were no issues.

4. While  I have no comments on the ROI, the packaging and casing was nice and personally I think these would make nice gifts
303  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Introduction to DualMiner USB (could mine both BTC and LTC) on: January 24, 2014, 08:58:20 AM
We developed a special version cgminer for dualminer. The customization is mainly because cgminer on github doesn't support dual mine mode. The latest version of cgminer even removed scrypt support, :-(. Also we are keeping a eye on bfgminer. We may release a bfgminer for dualminer. Currently only a customized cgminer is developed. As long as we start mass shipping, we will release cgminer that works on Linux. At that time, Beaglebone or PI can be used to control/manage dualminer usb.

Where can we download this special version of cgminer?

Just a quick note to say I have received the dual miner today and will be doing a review once I have everything setup and running

You can already access a basic live orders list from http://blockscan.com/order.aspx

Cheers
You can see the order.
You cannot do anything about them from this webpage.

I was not aware you could do anything directly from https://masterchest.info too unless I am mistaken ?

This could help for inspiration: https://masterchest.info/
Keeping only the decentralized exchange, but allowing an easy access to it from a website.

So I saw the value could be zero... For xcp. Is there any info or prospects that show this xcp to do the opposite and grow nicely

Yes, there is always a risk that the value could be zero or at the very least below your purchase price... Only time will tell.

And the risk increases exponentially when you have more people burning coins solely for the sake of profiting    Smiley

Given the large amount of liquidity I would personally not expect any kind of immediate price rally (i.e ala NXT or Mastercoin style) nor extensive price manipulation due to the float.

How long does it take to see XCP at the addressed used for burning?

You need at least 1 confirmed Bitcoin block for the balance to appear in Counterparty (and BlockScan).

While I have not personally used his service, if you have any reservations on burning XCP maxmint offers a burning service that takes the risk of an incorrect burn

Thanks for the tip!

Looks like there was another bug with the blocks.py code. I've pulled the latest git and it looks like we are good to go again

I burned BTC via blockchain.info, how can I use my XCP? Is it possible to use Counterpartyd even if I burned by blockchain.info?

You will need to export your private keys from blockchain and import them to your local bitcoinQT instance running along side with counterparty. And then issue the necessary (send, etc) commands from the counterparty client

I'm happy to donate, I just don't understand how to send XCP to an address. :/ .....safely!
Devs, any idea?
Also, it would be great to add the donation address to blockscan.com, so everyone could see how much donated and what the balance is.

+1

+2
Me too. I'd like to donate some XCP sending from my blockchain wallet

I can add this to the front page of blockscan if you think this would help ?
312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BlockScan] New CounterParty (XCP) Block Explorer on: January 19, 2014, 01:59:33 PM

Hey, that's what "send" is for .... though you'd have to issue the maximum permissible amount and send that to actually transfer ownership.

Come to think of it though, can devs implement a way to transfer "issuance privileges" so that the above doesn't have to be done?

Out of curiosity how many assets did you "pre-book" ?   Cheesy

I noticed a bunch of same addresses hitting the assets.

Can anybody help me here please? Can't get past Block 280518 since 2-3 days. Deleted the client, reinstall, rebuilt the database, nothing works. Testnet works fine. I am using the win64 Installer.

I am not a pro. Noobs like me need help, guys, if you want this to succeed Wink

I got the same problem.  @Devs  I need help, thanks in advance

On a side note: You need to be running python 3.2 on windows and rebuild from source again. The 3.3 won't work.

Just wanted to let everyone know, I have been invited to review the DualMiner. Will get back to the forum when the item is received.
Thanks

Same here. I have been invited for a review and will post an update once I receive the actual unit

Wow, people have been busy with opportunistic asset name creation. Almost feels like the old Web 1.0 days of domain squatting...

Yea  Cheesy

But unlike domain names you have to transfer your private key over. And I doubt that anyone is going to trust someone to just hand over the private keys without keeping a copy. Lolz...

Well, lets see how this plays out.

Thank you.  If you have any additional comments or suggestions please feel free to post them here.

If you would like to donate please do so by donating directly to the XCP project developers via the donation address at 12J1YFvsWHDCU5HNAWNLNy1Q9nZo8Q4Xgs

Already donated to the developers of course but would like to send you something as well – the site is awesome.
Some more suggestions:
- Make the search box accept asset names
- Show % of all XCP next to an address balance
- There's something wrong in the dividends view on the asset list, e.g. here: http://blockscan.com/assetInfo.aspx?q=VOID (columns seem to be mixed up)

Keep up the great work!

Those are actually good suggestions.. I have updated the site with your suggestions and fixed the dividend issue

Awesome site, thanks for putting this together!

It would be great to have a page listing all created assets and details about them, any chance you implement this?

The asset lists is now available at http://blockscan.com/asset.aspx

Cheers

Great, thanks for putting that up so quickly. Is there a donation address for your site?

Thank you.  If you have any additional comments or suggestions please feel free to post them here.

Ok guys, the build system should work again under Windows and Ubuntu 12.04. Pull the latest from github and let me know if you run into any more issues.

Still no updated installer for Win64 (ran into a new cx_freeze build issue with that that I'll check out tomorrow).

No go under windows for both python 3.2 and 3.3. Has anyone actually got these to work on windows?

If blockscan.com shows the address has XCP balance, that means the burn was successful right?

I burned using blockchain.info's web wallet. With this talk about a bug in burning just want to make sure.

FYI: Blockscan is currently not up todate with the latest blocks, at least until I can get the issue with the windows builds corrected.

ok but if a balance shows up on the address, that means everything is good right?

Yes. It still good for checking the old burns
