481  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [KEY] KeyCoin | Fair Launch | 10/24 Update: KeyTrader v2 - Windows + Mac on: October 29, 2014, 05:23:25 AM

There should be full screen option and decimal points in numbers.

Where aren't there decimal points? I haven't found that in either version yet.

I agree the window size could be adjustable - stretching it a bit would certainly alleviate some of the current field crowding issues but I'm not likely to ever want it full screen - depends on having very small screen size I guess.

I haven't gotten around to testing multiple instances yet beyond establishing that multiple instances do spawn in Windows and can be set to different tasks. I suspect traders are going to want to sit on several coins/exchanges at once and multiple small windows work better for that than a full-screen interface.

At this time I have not managed to start more than one Mac instance of KeyTrader2 and it could be that 10.10's rigid sandboxing will prevent that. Something I have yet to investigate. Does anyone know offhand how to do so?

Edit: Doh! Just remembered to use open -n to spawn new instances - getting old I guess Sad

482  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Blockade [CADE] [1% PoS] [Decentralized DDoS Protection] on: October 29, 2014, 03:53:39 AM
Any updates ?

I have had occasional contact with Somekindabitcoin.

Both he and his project are still alive, although did suffer a setback running into patents held by CloudFlare.

AFAIK DosCoin will have an exchange rate for Blockade, which will be a suite of software and part of a trio of coins to be known as Tri-coin. This may not be strictly correct but is the gist of the casual contacts over the past couple of weeks.

Now, before everyone asks:

  • No, I really don't know more than that.
  • Yes, our encounters have led me to believe the project is still on track and under active development.
  • Yes, I still HODL DosCoin in the expectation of being able to exchange it at some ratio of DOS:CADE at some future date.
  • No, I can not say when that might be. I'm sure we'll all find out when he's got definitive information to share.
  • Yes, I'm still staking my coins, as are at least 3 other people as I have 3 active network connections.
  • Finally, no, besides hodling DosCoin I have no connection with the project in any way, shape or form, I'm merely sharing what I have found in conversation.

Hopefully this is of some assistance to all.

Superseded: updated and corrected test results here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=736389.msg9404046#msg9404046

First impressions
With regard to beta testing here are a few comments to start:

On the Mac version (on OSX Yosemite, 10.10):
Some cosmetic notes:
  • KeyCoin required field needs to display in round, the current display numbers do not fit the text field and the field is too cramped, overwriting part of "Required" making it illegible
  • The "Requirement Met?" field suffers the same problem
  • The create/edit keys link displays very poorly with the current background
  • The API Key labels are almost invisible on the current background, as is the "Show Plain Text" label
  • The Spread Buy tab, the pink text is difficult, the green text awful and the black text label is almost completely hidden in the dark background
  • Same holds for the Spread Sell tab
  • Balance Book tab suffers from illegible black text for Amount and Withdrawal Address, some of which is obscured by the input field. The Portfolio Value and Deposit Address labels do not show well either.
  • Markets Tab is slightly better but black text on that background is not great
  • Whole thing would be improved if the entire tab background was white like it is in the Windows version

Windows version (Windows 7 in VM)
Cosmetic notes:
  • On the API Keys tab the instruction text field is truncated at "allow all functions of the API except for "  with no means of scrolling to find out "except for" what? If the text box extended all the way to the right the text would likely fit.
  • KeyCoin Required and Requirement Met? fields overwrite labels even worse than Mac version does
  • Both Buy & Sell Spread tabs suffer from the hideous and illegible pink and green text labels
  • At least the Balance Book tab has black text labels on a light gray background, a major improvement
  • On the Markets tab the BTC field is truncated and the text labels are unclear with black text on a dark background.

At this stage I have done very limited Bittrex trading with either version and have hit no errors so far.

Continued...
These apply to both Mac & Windows versions:

  • There is no ability to type coin market codes into the coin select box, all selections must be made by drop-down list. This lack of a search function seems an irritating oversight.
  • In the Balance Book Deposit Address only returns already extant coin deposit addresses with no means of generating a new one, although the Bittrex API certainly allows this. It seems more necessary than merely desirable.
  • I have not authorized withdrawals via API but no error is displayed when attempting to do so. This should bring up an alert reminding users when they have not enabled withdrawal on their API key or they will likely assume a broken function.
  • Balance Book offers no facility to sort by various columns. It would be really good to be able to optionally sort by name, balance, availability or even pending.

I'm afraid that's all I have time for at the moment.

Hoping it helps.

@KeyCoinTeam.

Could you tweet this info out? You have over 5000 followers. Or are you waiting for something else?

The last tweet is from the 1st of september. All it takes is 1 minute to make 5000 followers aware of this new update.

You do realize this is beta software, right? It isn't a full release version yet.
I said tweet about "an update", it doesnt matter whether its in beta or full version, the more beta testers the better in fact. Just to keep people who dont frequent bct in the loop Smiley

I may be very old school and sensitive to nomenclature but "update" is applied only to production code while the KeyTrader2 software made available is very definitely beta at this time with only one of four site tabs functional, illegible fields and truncated instruction panels. An invitation to beta testers in a first-round open beta trial would be fair enough but calling this an update will generate a lot of disappointment and upset potential users. See, for example, this response above: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=736389.msg9345813#msg9345813 - an attempt at humor perhaps but we do not want the impression KeyTrader2 was coded in someone's meal break.

Aaaaaannnnd the bottom line is that the total coin supply will be reduced by ~13.8%?

At the risk of displaying a little avarice... cool!

I for one wish to thank the lads from CCN for their diligent efforts increasing the investor value of CannabisCoin.

Fellows, your work is done and we can now return to regular programming Wink

Sadly, the patients, callously ignored during the recent brouhaha, will end up paying a little more for their cheap meds long-term as a result.

They may have a slightly different view of the value of the CCN lads' recent contributions.  Roll Eyes

Blockade will become a host for other things. It is going to be a software suite combined with many features you might find great.

Tri-coin announcement coming up.

G'day, when's this irc chat meet supposed to take place?

price sucks now bad Sad

On the 5th I was buying for less than 5.5K sat, now it's 8K and probably going to rise as people who wish to use the soon-to-be-released Quatloo Trader v2.2 find they need 10K QTL to use it and up to 20K soon for all the new features.

I'd have to say the immediate future looks very bright.

Not sure if this is possible with the trader app yet, can't seem to do it...

But is there a way to buy up the order book with all BTC in your account?

Or even, with a rate put in, the ability to click on your BTC balance and your buy/sell amount is calculated automatically?

Requested feature but not available in v2.1, might be in v2.2 but we won't know till it's released. See https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=711966.msg9134400#msg9134400

BTW, I think Trader-related posts and queries should be on https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=711966.0 where you might get quicker and far more knowledgeable responses than mine Smiley

It was the .Net. Re-installed it and now it starts...

Thanks!

Some other question, can the QTL exist, but on orders?

The reason I ask, as I have QTL on my pools and they automatically get sent and exchanged into BTC. If I put my 1000 on there, it would only be matter of a few mins and they'd get sold... I don't use CEX though, how come I can't place them there?

Not quite sure what you're asking... you mean to meet the 3,000 QTL balance to unlock all the features in Quatloo Trader2?

If you have accounts at either Bittrex, Poloniex or both you can send your QTL to your deposit wallets on the exchanges and just hold them (not offer them at any ask price) for as long as you like.

I tried using the v2 trader and it instantly crashes on me when I try to open it... Any idea's?

Are you trying to use it on a Windows box or a *nix (including Mac) one?

Macs after about 10.7 definitely don't like it. Works for me on a VirtualBox hosting Windows 7 though.

I'm using it on a Windows 7 VM (VMWare Fusion) on OSX Yosemite.

Anyone have any idea's?

Hmm... I'm on Mavericks 10.9.5 with VirtualBox 4.3.16, VM allowed 3072Mb RAM, 2 Processors @85%, VT-x/AMD-V, Nested Paging. Haven't had any problems with Trader 2.1.1.6 with that configuration.

Edit: Just making sure, you have installed .Net 4.5 into your 'doze 7, right? If not: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30653

Grin Hello Guys !  Grin

I will try to explain in a simply way where we are going to with SUPER and where we are now ...

1. PoW blocks were minted and there is no way to mine that blocks by any of pools    ( I have configured one and I've got massage "No more PoW blocks") so give up    with that idea.

2. Only way now is to "mine"="generate" PoS blocks which are generated by network    (wallets) the key to generate PoS by You are:
   a. generate at least 2 adresses in your wallet
   b. transfer to them a least 500 coins
   c. wait 1 day and network will generate PoS by use Your coins and addresses

3. That's mean that SUPER coin is not dead in fact it will be mine in diffrent      way (PoS blocks) and  one thing is important: we have brilliant technology    (Supersend) potential with    supersend    technology

4. We have got nodes, coins and wallets on diffrent platforms and now its time to    use that in a right way ... in fact I have to repeat and ask You quastion    once again: What do we need for coin to be successed ?
   a. networks with nodes (we have)
   b. wallets on diffrent platform (we have)
   c. coins (we have)
   d. advertisiment team and stuff !!! we do not have enough so we should do    all we can to promote that coin and that technology everywhere in social    networks.. etc... etc...

5. Leave developers away they do their job .... SUPER is like BTC leaved alone by    architect ... and it goes in his own way ....

6. Promote, promote, promote !!! all we can do for that coin

7. Share your ips that we could add them as a nodes to supercon.conf

You sound like a moron

@Ense04:

Your antagonistic response is an excellent example of exactly why SuperCoin is in need of life support.

joepl's post tells you two things:

  • English is not joepl's first language, requiring a little effort at understanding on the reader's part
  • joepl wishes to help SuperCoin recover through enthusiastic promotion

You Ense04, chose to insult the poster rather than welcoming them into the thread and the SuperCoin community.

At the very least you should delete your post and replace it with an apology.

@joepl:

A belated welcome, our new newbie friend. Thanks for your enthusiasm. i am sorry for your rude reception.

As you can see, it is difficult to raise any enthusiasm in this somewhat dispirited and very hostile community.

You are quite correct, SuperCoin is staking nicely and the network is sound.

That is why there is no need of your point 7 - there is no need to collect IPs for the supercoin.conf because the network is healthy.

498  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SUPERCOIN] Unique Most Advanced Anonymous Trustless Multisig Technology on: October 05, 2014, 07:29:00 AM
I know many of you are holding big bags and the fact that the Super & Mamm devs have simply disappeared is unacceptable. From the thread history it seems this coin was poised to moon, the community was very supportive and excited requested action to improve value and then silence....

PM me whatever contact/social/personal info you have on anyone involved in Super & Mammoth projects.

A massive dose of DOXing is in order, Take a Stand!

I find this post rather troubling.

To begin with the dev(s) scammed no one - this was a very active and well-supported coin for quite some time. It is not as though there was an ICO and the dev absconded with the up-front cash.

Additionally, most everyone posts on here under pseudonyms for whatever personal reasons. I don't think much of the idea of outing anyone for any reason short of rank illegal activity and there is no evidence of any such here.

Basically the situation is that coin holders are very annoyed the dev(s) are not working 24/7 to make said holders rich. We have had some setbacks and tantrums, following which the devs appear to have decided it is not worth the effort and abuse. Can't really say I blame them.

A significant element of this "community" are self-entitled, self-indulgent brats who deserve the life lesson of losing their pocket money. Get over it and yourselves.

My 2¢.

Have a nice day.

I am surprised that is the first pitchfork post so far...

Your post is troubling too.

Because of some trolls you advocate screwing over supporters and investors?

The situation is, the developer stopped communicating a month ago, he has logged in but ignored all questions. Meanwhile, the project is not finished.
A single update or post saying 'I am on vacation' would have saved the price and project. No one is asking 24/7 anything...

By abandoning the project, he is not just screwing the "self-entitled, self-indulgent brats who deserve the life lesson" as you spouted. (did you shake your fist when you said that?)
He is also screwing the cool people that helped and supported the project, the people that advertised and tweeted, and the people that invested time and money for the last few months.

But, you are correct they are technically not "scamming" anyone, they are just actively SCREWING everyone by abandoning the project.

You can have 1¢ back.

Nope, didn't do any fist shaking, there's plenty of that already

I note you left out some of my text:

As for the devs I hope they build their code into a really nice piece of software and sell it for a fortune. After all, they are the ones who did the work everyone here seeks to profit from.

That said I would be delighted to welcome them back after a break and hope they resume in their own time, at their own pace and in whichever direction they might decide to take their coin.

Didn't you like the part about it being the dev's hard work everyone seeks to profit from? Or was it that the closed code is actually the dev's and does not belong to those of us who mined and bought SuperCoin?

These guys have been roundly abused and essentially driven off and who's to blame them for not wanting to turn up for more?

You also omitted

I assume you believe the devs will find loud claims that they've "screwed everyone" much more encouraging and eager to reopen communications and/or hand over their code?

Keep the cent. I have the feeling you might need it.

Hey guys, hempcoin.org appears to be down. At least it does not seem to be accessible from the land down-under. Just getting: "Gateway Timeout: can't connect to remote host"

Haven't been able to download a Mac wallet either.
