tor provide anonymity at IP level; and a p2pool with a lot of miners gives the same results without any issue, we can't say where the mix is from. But masternode concept is more than buggy...

Masternode concept is crucial for DRK - it differentiates it from other coins. If I was not buying the idea I would not go near the coin. It is like buying lemons and then complaining about the sour taste.

Why did it have to be 20%? That just feels excessive. People will run masternodes for less

Ah come on.. in the same way you can say people would mine for less. And in fairness, nothing would happen with 50:50 share - the number of miners would decrease and so the difficulty would decrease as well.

Based on the MN payments I decided to invest about 4000 euro into 500 darkcoins I needed to get the MN.
80:20 seems fair to me and if you think MN are paying too much... well - get one.

To come back to 20% tax code issue (masternode...). Here is an answer for the miners; You will find here a p2pool fork without the 20% tax code:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=688510.new#new

If you do not like 20% support to the masternodes feel free to mine one of remaining 99.8% coins on the market

What is the most likely problem when I am trying to start the MN and getting a message
"not capable masternode"

The conf file seems sound. I type darkcoind - server is starting
but when I type darkcoind masternode start, I get the "not capable masternode" message  Huh

wallet.dat file had a transaction to it with exactly 1000drk in that one transaction?

Thanks.. Running it from my cold wallet instead of the server sorted it out.

Not sure about this lag theory. The masternode IPs are kept on a list afaik -- so I don't know why being far from the mining node would be a problem. Guess something could be "timing out" for the far away nodes causing them to not be elected...

Dunno just seems like a odd problem. Solution is to bother Evan about it or wait will RC4 where masternodes are selected by other masternodes rather than miners.

I find it odd but would not bother Evan about it now when RC4 is coming soon.

Some of you fucks can bitch back and forth like the fucking idiots you've been
Cheers to the DEVs and of course Evan......
It is what it is.......
I will return to my DRK ways..........hidden.......
Being alone just means that nobody can disappoint you......
PM's later.............

Take it easy dude, I'm sorry if I offended you...

I'm not worried about it that much, perhaps I came across like I was greedy, merely pointing out an observation...  But someone has already pointed out that there may be a different way to choose nodes for RC4, which sounds good to me... And it does do a pretty good job of explaining what I'm seeing at the moment...

No need to say sorry... just got a nice PM from him:

Randomly click through the USA MasterNodes, a lot have received up to 15 payments by now, that's with non complying pools.

My Singapore based masternodes are lucky to receive 1 payment, and I've kept them up to date with recent software and they have been up for 5-6 weeks.

Something is up...

If this is a real issue, I'm going to guess that it's due to lag.  Most miners being in the USA, might make it harder for a masternode far away to get noticed for voting?  How could that be fixed?

Maybe this will work out better when the masternodes choose who gets paid instead of the miners in RC4?

Thanks, the lag theory would explain better avg results for US. Yep, after the RC4 it should not matter anymore Smiley

It is NOTHING....
Statistically speaking - this time frame is bullshit - yeah I said it - BULLSHIT!!

Statistically we are talking about a few months if not years for every things to work it's self out but if you leave now for what you call a "better opportunity" you could just be screwing yourself.

HEY !!!!! EVERYBODY - IF YOU FEEL LIKE YOUR BEING SCREWED OVER BY THE MASTERNODE YOU OWN - MOVE YOUR DRK TO A DIFFERENT SERVER - THEN WHEN EVERYBODY MOVES TO THAT "COUNTRY SERVER"  ---  OH WOW !!  - - WHY AM I GETTING SCREWED AGAIN???

Some people have no fucking clue what it means to be Statistical.

You found and bought your home - LIVE IN IT !!!

It will all work it's self out in the end....... sure the fuck not next week you vultures - but give it a few months/years - - -

DAMNIT MAN !!!!

Calm down. Breath in, Breath out.
Two people noticed what may seem as a disparity in distribution of rewards, have politely brought the topic, that is all. If you do not look at the results or source code and instead present your agitated opinion you are not really helping anyone.

Masternode payment portion of the code is open-source.  I think it would be prudent for the problem area of the code (if it exists) to be identified before saying that something is amiss.

You can either go through the code OR go through the results - I am doing the latter and there is enough data to base it on.

I'd keep your Mnode right where it is
- about the time you move
- you could have been paid

We need people WORLD-WIDE and not where they think they should be.

The States has no better chance of being paid then any other country.

KEEP ON KEEP'n on mate....

Carry it thru.....

Yep - it does not look like waiting with the nodes in current  locations will result in similar long-term payments as in US..
I consider switching today. Sure the MN should be geographically dispersed but WHY staying in low-pay destination?

Look at the average payments and do the maths. US nodes do get much more then the Dutch ones and the sample is big enough to support it.

One thing I have noticed, USA based MasterNodes are getting a lot more payments than lets say, Singapore.  I think I'm going to move my nodes...

Exactly! I have noticed as well that USA based nodes are getting on average much more payments than those based in the Netherlands. I should have gone for US when setting up the hosting  Undecided

Should there be reason of concern if I have not received any pay from my master node in the past 24-30 hours? My first 3 DRK's came to me like clock work. Day 4 coin is taking it own sweet time. I'll be more patient if I know this is typical with MN payments. TY

30 hours? I haven't seen payment on my node for a week now! This has to really be the most unfortunate node on the network - it was brought online on June 28 and only generated 1 DRK over the 15 day period:

I know about the random nature of the rewards but this seems to be REALLY low, don't you think Huh The node is online & working, just does not generate any money: only got 2 payments resulting in 1 DRK compared to the average of 13 payments and 8-9 DRK received from paying nodes Undecided

Ha ha, I'd rather be a dick head than a dick sucker like you.

I was here early.  I sold some coins early but bought back in low and sold at the top.  I just dumped the last of my DRK the other day because I can't stand the stench of this coin.  I will admit that I am mining on one of the pools that isn't taxing me 20%.  I'll sell whatever I mine and feel good about not paying the 20% tax.

But feel free to believe whatever fairy tale you want.  You believe in the Darkcoin fairy tale about overtaking bitcoin, going to $300 a coin etc... so why wouldn't you believe the fairy tale that you posted about me.

You have the early supporter part right.  But after observing what has been going on I can't support this instamined scam any longer.

Yes I used the words INSTAMINED and SCAM.

OK dear Shojayxt, looks like you were a real drk enthusiast:
March 1:
I truly believe that these devs are for real.  No games, just results.  That's been the focus all along.  Most coins come out and brag about their fancy logo or website.  At the end of the day they're just a clone.  This is a new coin with new features.  It's the real deal. If it wasn't I wouldn't be here.

March 3:
This coin has been the victim of sabotage from the beginning.  Someone is trying really hard to make the road as bumpy as possible.

When you say: I sold some coins early but bought back in low and sold at the top. You're lying. You got rid of them in March, waaaay before to claim you sold "at the top".

Please stay here. You're funny  Wink

That is interesting, can I ask you how did you find the number of DRK mined by multipools?

Also, if I am counting correctly, at current prices darkcoin worth 28 BTC are mined a day so 9 BTC a day would be instantly sold by multipools for BTC/LTC - which is about 2% of daily volume on a very slow trading day - does this really have a significant impact on the price of DRK?
[/quote]

You are correct, they are only selling 9 BTC per day...

I found the 30% multipool number by counting the multipools from this website
http://drk.poolhash.org/poolhash.html
[/quote]

Thanks! So I assume you must know which of those pools are multipools then :-)

over 30% of DRK being mined are mined by multipools who will instantly sell them for BTC or LTC ... not good for the DRK prices...
