481  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Why do we get more sympathy and assistant during crisis? on: June 30, 2024, 07:25:16 AM
E get misconception wey people de get say if dem family and friends no visit dem physically or dem no give dem money, dat e mean say dem no care for dem. Country hard and everybody de occupied with wetin de put food on dem table, if you no complain, your loved ones go assume say you de ok and dem go worry about oda things. Aldo e de important to put calls across to loved ones once in a while, I believe say with dat dem go know say you care for dem, e no de necessary say you must visit dem physically everytime to show dem love.

Na in times of needs na im e de necessary to visit your loved ones and show dem love and support in your own capacity. So I agree say na in times of trouble people de show love pass because di person or people in need no de capable to care for themselves. Na during the times of our forefathers wey dem de live in communities you must to see your loved ones everyday but for dis our generation money matter don make people to Waka far to find a better living. So If your loved ones no visit you make you no vex, if you get di chance make you sef visit dem, no be crime.
482  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Was it a Gut's feeling a Mathematical calculation or a Coincident? on: June 30, 2024, 06:23:33 AM
I am pretty sure everyone has a 'gut feeling' when gambling. When the bet does not pan out the way they hope, the never seem to blame their gut. But they always praise their gut whenever the bet turns into a win.

Nothing but superstition. Roll Eyes
It's normal for people to brag about their luck, guts, calculation and even premonition when they win in gambling but they will never tell anybody when they lose, despite any special gifts that they think they have. The man in the story has probably lost in gambling uncountable times and never mentioned that his guts always failed him but the instant he became lucky and won big, he had to tell the world that it's by his special abilities. People should not fall for this believes and gamble more than the amount that they can afford to loose, gamble is luck, let them not believe any superstitions.
483  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 Push-Ups A Day Until Bitcoin Is $100K Challenge on: June 29, 2024, 12:33:13 PM
Since I joined this push-up challenge, yesterday I went to a gym center, and I did a chest workout of 5 sets of 20 reps with a 40 kg barbell weight, 2 sets of a military or shoulder workout of 10 reps with a 20 kg barbell weight, 2 sets of a squat workout of 20 reps with a 20 kg barbell weight, 2 sets of a barbell row workout of 20 reps with a 20 kg barbell weight, and I placed my hand in the barbell rod to do an average of 150 push-ups. After I ended my exercise yesterday, I took milk to help me develop my body easily, and I also rested my body to allow me to see the benefits of the workouts I did yesterday. I was able to do 2400 push-ups in 16 days, with an average of 150 push-ups a day. My next push-up target is to do an average of 200 push-ups a day, so that I will gain my stamina back and be able to do 50 push-ups and above in a set.

Here is my latest push-up report.
100k,Mayor of Ogba,119,16226,2024-06-29.
Wow bro! I applaud your perseverance and dedication to be able to absorb all that weights into your body, I'm sure that it'll transform well into your physique. I hope that you can be an inspiration to some of use that are still pushing averagely to put more efforts in our pushups and other workouts. I combine pushups with squatting, but I've realized that I can't do them everyday, I get severe dizziness after my workout sessions. I've added some diets to my meals and working out once in 2 days or two times in 3 days, I'm fine with that for now.

I pushed for 6 days in the last 10 days. A total of 512 + 1456 = 1968. 100k,Kelward,33,1968,2024-6-29
484  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How often do you recognize a match fixing? on: June 29, 2024, 11:19:04 AM
We all know match fixing is a deliberate manipulation of the result of a specific event, sports, and anything under the scope of gambling. I have come across to a realization that we may have seen a lot of these in the major leagues in the mainstream sports industry.
I can't remember seeing a fixed match in any major league. They might be popular in some unknown leagues in unknown countries but do you really think that matches can be fixed in La League, Premier League, Seria A, League 1 and Bundesliga? Why should these matches be fixed? They generate lots of money from each match and generate even more if they win. They also generate more money if they win the trophy so to my mind, all games are fair and everyone tries their best to win the trophy because besides lots of money, it earns them fame, new fans and even increased revenue in sales.
I also doubt that there are match fixing in major top leagues in the world, I don't think that they will risk their reputations for once in a while match fixing just to win bets. These clubs and their players are very rich so I don't think that manipulating their matches in any way for financial gratifications will be worth it for them. If we're however talking about lower and unpopular leagues that their clubs and players are not very rich, then I won't doubt about the possibilities of match fixing because of the lack of quality income generations and fan base.
485  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you also panic when bitcoin price falls more than 10-20% in a day ? on: June 29, 2024, 09:09:08 AM
In a day? it's really rare to happen Bitcoin price falls 10%-20% in a day, I would panic, but I wouldn't sell my coins.

As human beings with emotions it's natural to panic when we see our investment crashing up to 20% in price within 24 hours, although I don't think that Bitcoin has experienced such a dip within a day. If Bitcoin were to experience a massive dip in a day I will not panic and sale because I know that it's a volatile asset that pumps and dumps in price according to it's supply and demand. Bitcoin historical pattern has proven that it's price will always reach new ATH on the long term so short term price fluctuations shouldn't be a cause of alarm for investors who hodl for long term.
486  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think as a gambler we should allocate specific amount to gamble? on: June 29, 2024, 07:31:12 AM
Every responsible income earners needs to have budget for their expenses and anything that is not in the budget will not be spent on. A person that gambles regularly should allocate a percentage of his/ her income to it and be disciplined not to exceed the budget. Except for an occasional gambler, I don't think it's good for the regular gamblers to gamble with spare money or emergency funds because they're also part of the income budget. Except a regular gambler chooses to call their budgeted amount for gambling "spare money" otherwise it is still money that is allocated for their gambling.
487  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Be cautious of your P2P trading in Bybit on: June 28, 2024, 01:17:44 PM

488  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The benefits of Gambling on: June 28, 2024, 11:30:34 AM
Gambling has it's positive and negative sides although the negative outweighs the positive sides. That being said, in the positive sides gambling has it's benefits both to the gamblers and the gambling companies. The gambler benefits in fun and relaxation, thrill of taking risks and socializing with fellow gamblers and ultimately the joy of winnings while the gambling companies creates employments for their staff, income for their companies and agents also taxes for governments. In this age of internet that we have online gambling, it has reduced socialization in terms of meeting fellow gamblers in casinos, although it takes nothing out of the fun that gamblers get.
489  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why do traders lose money in trading? on: June 28, 2024, 09:07:10 AM

And when it comes to why traders lose money, the only and basic answer I have is, it's due to lack of proper knowledge, skill, and experience.
Someone with a well polished trading knowledge, skill and experience, won't lose trades unnecessarily, because they would already know every thing that could make them lose their trade and try as much as possible to avoid doing such or things in that aspect.
Trading is hard and newbies that are entering it needs to understand that it's not a get rich quick scheme like some influencers will hype it on social media. Crypto trading is something that someone needs to diligently learn before putting their funds into it otherwise there's a very high chance that they will lose their money in trading. Experienced and professional traders will be able to minimize loses because of their years of experience of how the crypto market works, they understand the fundamentals and technicalities of how to analyze trades, therefore they'll not fall prey to many mistakes that will make them to have loses.

So it's important for inexperienced traders to start with demo trading and when they've gained knowledge, they should trade with the amount that they can afford to loose.
490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bank teller stole $28,000 from customers to feed her gambling addiction on: June 28, 2024, 07:05:51 AM
I am not buying the story of gambling addiction. The manner of the theft looks way too calculated and the fact that she was able to repay the entire amount stolen when caught doesn't suggest she was a gambling addict. This looks like a ploy the defense team is using to get a lesser sentence.

I reason with what you said, the gambling addiction might be a way to appeal to the conscience of the judge to give a lighter sentence. I doubt that gambling addicts can repay the complete money that they borrowed or stole because of their addictions, as their losing the money at hand that is what will be prompting them to need more money, either to steal or borrow more.

The story of bankers that steals their customers money is not new to me, they will monitor deceased customers and dormant accounts whether anybody will come forward to claim the money. If nobody comes forward for claimant they'll just steal the money, the public only gets to hear about it if someone shows up after they've stolen the money.
491  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN FUTURE IN DOUBT on: June 27, 2024, 04:32:09 PM
The future of Bitcoin is great.  And I do not know where you got this silly rumor from, but I very much doubt any other Cryptocurrency will take the number 1 spot on the Market.  Ethereum could have a good long term future due to the ETF, but this means nothing when the future of Bitcoin looks even shinier.  Where is the evidence that investors are selling Bitcoin in preference for Ethereum?
Fact check is that Bitcoin stands alone at the number one spot of the crypto ranking and Ethereum comes at a distant second, so there's no how that you can compare their market caps. I believe that it's a pro Ethereum analyst that is shilling it to eth believers and nothing serious to consider or worry anybody that is hodling Bitcoin. The OP could not provide any link or proof to show evidence that Bitcoin investors are selling theirs to buy Ethereum, so the assertion is baseless and not to be taken seriously. Publications like this is what will mislead newbies who are new in Bitcoin investment and they will sale their BTC because of it to buy second rated eth.
492  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can the world be a better place without religion? on: June 27, 2024, 02:02:00 PM
The world is encapsulated with so many religion embedded with different doctrines, teaching and belief which have affected our sense of reasoning in different ways. Religion has raised serious concern to mankind especially in terms of sociopolitical and economic coexistence. The major cause of insecurity in most part of the world today is the problem of economic and religion supremacy where everyone seen to uphold their religion with virtue and in a high esteem and even considered it to be the only true region and the only way to salvation and internity thereby condemning or seeing other religion as fake. So therefore, considering the problem associated with religion differences in world today, I think the world would have be a better place without religion.
According to Karl Marx, religion is the opium of the masses, it gives people a sense of believe and belonging so if you remove it from the society, people might not see any moral rights to define their characters. Most religions teaches about peace and I believe that if it's not for this reason there will be more chaos in the world because there might be no conscience or guilt to refrain people from doing evil. So my point is that religion to a large extent helps to subdue the evil in human beings, atleast the two most popular religions upholds peace and love.

A lot of evil and criminalities are happening in the world today even with many religions that admonishes peace and love, so how do you imagine that the world will be without them. I think that lawlessness and wickedness will be greater than good because humans by nature wants to conquer and rule their fellow humans, religion puts these characters in check by teaching humility.
493  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Use of grammar by newbies to create threads on: June 27, 2024, 11:54:39 AM
I no understand your point, abi you get anything against big grammar? Assuming say you de talk about newbies wey de speak wrong English or dem grammar no de correct na dat time your thread for de relevant. If person see grammar wey im no understand for any post either im go ask question, check di meaning for dictionary or simply ignore am, if na wrong grammar, you fit to choose to correct di member or move on. Most of us de happy to learn new things wey go de beneficial to us and if na new grammar I go learn from a newbie, I go ad am to my vocabulary collection.

Abeg no be everybody sabi to speak or write in pidgin and simple English, so make we no discriminate against any member wey go teach us big grammar. Besides, you suppose to move this your thread to our off topic sub board, na Bitcoin and altcoins we de discuss for here.
494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: From $30 free bet to $168 on: June 27, 2024, 10:02:13 AM

If I am very careful and I do not want to lose the money, I would have likely lost the money. But when I do not that care I won it. Thanks to jeremypwr and Sportsbet for the free bet.
Congratulations on your win and it was your lucky day to gamble, so enjoy your win. The lesson to learn from the events that led to your bigger win was that you we're gambling with the amount that you can afford to loose because the $30 that you started with wasn't from your wallet. So throughout the duration of the bets you were having fun and not under pressure to win, if you had lost it in roulette, it would have been one of those unlucky days in gambling and you'd easily move on. Whether you were careful or not during gambling doesn't really matter because luck is the major factor that determines the outcome.
495  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLE RESPONSIBLY on: June 27, 2024, 06:14:56 AM
I know this is common sense to the majority of people on this forum but I can't stress how important it is to gamble responsibly.

There was a recent case in Australia where a man lost his entire life savings of $400,000+ in a 48 hour gambling spree.

The gambler lost $12,000 in a single bet and then tried to chase that initial amount but ended up losing his life savings.

I am a seasoned and experienced gambler and my one piece of advice to people is to only bet what you can afford to lose otherwise you are setting yourself up for failure.

Gamble responsibly is an advise that any gambler can not afford to ignore, the repercussions are very costly both mentally and financially. One of the worst things that can happen to any gambler is to chase lose, that is the highest height of irresponsible gambling, the gambler will become so addicted to recovering his lose that before he realizes it, he'd have emptied his entire savings. Not having a budget for gambling is another indiscipline by some gamblers, without a budget for gambling, the person can be carried away and keep going on and on till they exhaust all the money that they have. Gambling the amount that you can afford to loose is the beginning of responsible gambling.
496  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Learn and observe the market on: June 26, 2024, 05:47:55 PM
E de important for anybody wey de hodl Bitcoin to learn how di market de work, and as you talk, make we no de only focus to make profit alone. E de good to understand say Bitcoin price de also dip and wen we begin to de notice say price de constantly dump as we de experience am now, na to calm down and know say price go later pump. Without sufficient knowledge of Bitcoin, newbie investors go begin to de panic anytime wen price start to de continually dip. Bitcoin no be like altcoins wey fit to die at anytime, so anybody wey hodl am go carry for mind say na long term investment im hold. Instead to panic for price dip, if you get money na to gather am to de accumulate Bitcoin more and more.
497  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will You Trade AI For Human Creativity? on: June 26, 2024, 01:44:14 PM
I think AI cannot beat human creativity and I believe there are many jobs that cannot be replaced by AI. AI creativity is determined by the humans who create it, in other words if you want to increase the creativity of AI you have to increase the creativity of the humans who make it. Is an AI project worth investing in? worthy, because there are many AI projects that have succeeded in hype and success.
You can't be faster than your shadow so in reality AI can not be more advanced than humans that created them. Without the humans that will be innovative to improve on the functionality of AI they'll just remain in the level of how they were programmed to function. Humans are born with natural brains to explore and experiment, never to remain stagnant, as technology is advancing, the human mind will always be ahead. I see AI taking over most of the workforce in the future just like machines in the industrial revolution took over laborers jobs, so humans will always find a way to survive and think ahead of any sofisticated gadgets.

As for any AI projects in the market DYOR and invest the amount that you can afford to loose because the crypto market is volatile.
498  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Won $4 Million and Died… on: June 26, 2024, 11:52:02 AM
Overexitement can sometimes cause harm to people that have heart related ailments like high blood pressure, so I think that the deceased winner must have an underlying heart disease that he was battling with before he heard about his jackpot win. I saw a video on social media where a celebrant was dancing and suddenly he clutched his chest, slumed and died, so there's need for people to regularly have their medical checkups to avoid sudden death. I sympathize with the deceased family, but atleast they'll take solace in accepting the win that will turn around their fortunes.
499  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Must we call it a mistake? on: June 26, 2024, 09:23:31 AM
A man and a woman can have consensual sex for fun without the intention of having a child and when it happens they blame it on mistake. It's not an acceptable mistake because they must've known the implications and a probable outcome of their act, they're two irresponsible people who should know that in this age there are contraceptives to avoid pregnancies. Ignorance is not an excuse to escape the reality of their action so they need to accept the result rather than blaming it on mistakes.

I think that women are more affected in an unwanted pregnancy because they're the ones that carries it and after giving birth they're the ones that will nurse their babies, keeping their education or careers on hold. Even when they decide to go for an abortion, it's the woman that risks her life, so women should be more resistant when it comes to having unprotected sex if they're not ready for pregnancy.
500  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you put money together with friends to bet on sports games? on: June 26, 2024, 06:12:46 AM
I'm interested to hear what goes on in the meeting when they lose a game and whether they will blame who decides which team they put their money on. It could be a reason why friendship won't last. Money is always going to be the reason for it all.

Knowing that you are into the sport, your advice will be taken seriously by your group which they may rely on you. You make them rich and your bond will be stronger but if you make them poor, bond may not last.
I'm hearing of this group betting for the first time and it sounds interesting and fun to do with friends but in reality I don't think that it's a good idea for money to come between friends. I reason with your thoughts about what happens if the bet is lost, would it be business as usual or will there be blames among them because loses are not something to celebrate. I believe that friends can have a contract to save and invest but not to gamble, gambling is based on luck and it should be on personal decisions, not groups and associations.

Besides you don't need too much money to gamble that will necessitate joining money with others, it's best to gamble personally with the amount that you can afford to loose.
