481  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoinica: How it works on: January 03, 2012, 10:54:58 PM
i'm glad you turned off  the ignore button.  now would you please answer my legitimate questions?

Cypher: Every time you ask a question, someone answers it, then you ask new questions and make many more posts saying nobody is answering you.  Can you write out your unanswered questions clearly and grammatically, and stop whining about being ignored, so we can actually find your questions and respond to them?

3. if i as a new customer deposits $50K and doesn't open a position, will those USD's get added to the shared pool and get lent out to longs to buy or shorts to cover?  as a result, is it possible for a new customer to be prevented from opening a position at all in the case of a Bullseye event?

4. i'm still not clear on a buyer who hits a displayed ask @$4.  is he guaranteed to get that price but just after 4 sec or can you refuse to honor it if we get a spike on mtgox?

(Mushoz answered well, but here is my take)

3. Probably.  The 50K should be lent to other customers once deposited.  If the entire system is skewed long, for example, that user would not be able to buy until it rebalances.

4. What does this mean?  That is barely English.

What do you mean by "hits"? (Sees?)

What is a displayed ask?  Do you mean the current market buy price (seen in the "Instant Execution" tab)?

If you want to lock in a price, you should use a limit order, not market.  If you want to place a market order, you should not be upset if the price moves a bit.  The purpose of a market order is to be fast, not precisely priced.

Very cool!
483  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoinica: How it works on: January 02, 2012, 07:26:22 PM
No wonder cypherdoc has almost 3k posts, he accounts for almost half the posts in this thread Tongue

All hail cypherdoc, king of FUD!

Great writeup OP.
485  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoinica: When does it implode? on: January 02, 2012, 10:52:44 AM
Why would it implode?  Why are you spreading FUD?  Did you get short squeezed?
486  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Putting my hand up to be the unofficial bitcoin marketeer on: December 31, 2011, 10:16:58 AM
Meh, if it's unofficial just do it.

Id only be interested if there was a significant amount of people willing to support and donate some hours to develop some systems/software/sites etc.

Some level of coordination, cooperation and direction will be required.

If you have good idea's, Ill gladly contribute to the realization of them on a per case basis. If I think your idea sucks (like trying to convert a Philippine village to bitcoin), you're on your own. So I dont see the point of pledging anything at this point.  Wanting 100 people to 'vote' for you seems little more than ego tripping, no offense.

I agree with this completely.

Asking for general blind support is weird, and a little off-putting.  If you want people to follow you need to present a plan and have specific suggestions on how people can help.
487  Economy / Services / Re: Introducing the Bitcoin100: A Kickstarter for Charities on: December 29, 2011, 07:26:19 AM
I'd like to mention in this thread that Wikimedia NYC has started to accept bitcoin. At the time of writing they have 68 BTC, maybe a few of us can donate directly and prop it up to 100 BTC? There's probably no need to turn this into a full Bitcoin100 thing, unless we feel otherwise.

Awesome! 1 BTC sent.
488  Economy / Lending / Re: 50 BTC, repay 57 BTC in one month on: December 26, 2011, 03:51:47 AM

See, I have a real job, and a few rigs putting out 8+Ghash.
What I do with the money is my own problem, if I double down at the casino, so what?
Say someone make 3000 a month, and borrows 1500 and spent it at the casino. That someone could easily make 1500 back in 2 weeks.
The important thing is will I be able to repay. Do you think banks are safe? Most western (meaning US and European) banks leverage your deposit 30+ times. Do you think that is safe?
I would rather lend someone $ knowing they can actually repay, than put it into bank and let them leverage it 30 times. We all know what happened to MF Global.

But then again, just an option for those interested. It's not like I really needed the money now or I am done or something like that.

Ouch! Good luck!  Future lenders might want to check out chungenhung's previous threads.

On a related note, if anyone wants to send me BTC, I will put it all on black in roulette and split any winnings I get 50/50.
489  Economy / Goods / Re: No prescription, no hassles- bitcoins for meds. Keep it simple. on: December 26, 2011, 03:47:14 AM
I am not saying you have to stop illegally selling drugs, you do what you want to do.

I just think for the sake of this forum, this thread should be closed because it could get the forum taken down/seized/blocked in the US, if a DEA agent didn't like what he saw.

I fail to see how letting the drug dealer stay on his corner is benefiting the forum community in comparison with the liability that comes with it.

493  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitinstant- Processing Instant Transfers 24/7. LR|Gox|TH|Dwolla|LR|PP|PX| More.. on: December 23, 2011, 10:21:52 PM
I hope Yankee does not mind me mentioning this in public but I did ask him if it's wise to go on Bruce's show - he convinced me it was, and seeing the result i'm glad that he did.
Bruce may have a dodgy history, but nothing in that show should be taken as representing BitInstant as being associated with Bruce's past.
Thanks for the insight. Glad to hear this.

"You aren't selling to people who need it, you are advertising the benefits to make people feel they need these drugs."

We should thank God that GlaxoSmithKline, Merck, Eli Lilly, and Pfizer don't do this!  Oh, wait- let me turn down the TV...darn drug commercials are too loud!!!

ROFLMAO.  This, ladies and gentlemen, is what you call a hypocrite.  They love the system that pours billions of dollars into drug executive's pockets because it is "safe" and they hate what I do because it is "dangerous".

Interesting tidbit:  The United States and New Zealand are the only two countries where direct to consumer (DTC) advertising of prescription drugs is legal.

I don't think direct-to-consumer marketing has any place in the pharmaceutical business in legal or grey markets.  What you are doing just as, if not more, irresponsible than big pharma.  You are damning yourself along with the big guys.

Also, are you either located in the US or New Zealand, or did you just acknowledge you are breaking the law be engaging in DTC advertising?

Moderators: you know this forum could get shut down if it is seen as an promoting or enabling illegal black-market drug sales, right?
495  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for loan, $500 to $3000 or more per individual, 1.25% for 3 months on: December 23, 2011, 10:05:01 PM
My guess is that he is going to be spending it on his stock strategy which he is selling for $100.
He claims he "can make 15-25% or even more on your money per yr, with almost zero risk."
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=53973.20

It seems suspicious to me.  He is reporting gains on what looks like a loss. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=53973.msg643704#msg643704

Lender beware
YOUR OWN calculation shows "Net profit: $12.30".
How is that a loss?
Furthermore, the strategy is for LONG term. 3 months is not long term.

Yeah, it looks like you made a profit on that transaction, but I still feel confident that you don't understand the risks of your own system if you say it is "Risk-free".  It looks like you are selling an option and thus limiting your upside while still exposing yourself to downside risk.  There's no such thing as a free lunch in the financial market. Lender beware.

497  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Universal client on: December 21, 2011, 07:08:17 AM
I'd like a client like this.  I'll pay 1btc to whoever releasing a client up to my expectations with all these features.  (I use windows, don't want to have to do any command line or install any libraries.  Browser based could be good.).
498  Economy / Goods / Re: No prescription, no hassles- bitcoins for meds. Keep it simple. on: December 21, 2011, 07:04:14 AM
Using hormone replacement therapy without the supervision of a trained profesional can cause erectile disfuntion, diabeties, growth displacement and several other serious side effect. No one should use any medication without proper physian supervision.

What the op dose not mention in this thread is that use can also cause.

Death
Low metabolic asborbtion
Endrcryne mutation and complication
Loss of errectile function

And many, many more other serious side effets.

If you have any quetions about the drugs sold here or any other medical questions, consult a doctor or in the case of seroid, an Endocrynologist as they ACTUALLY went to school, passed peer review and are sworn to an oath to not harm. But hey, I belive in Darwinism, so if you are going to self medicate, go right ahead. Natual selection will take care of removing your bad decesions from the genepool within your lifetime. (yes you heard right. I have no problem with this thread as long as you are not giving these drugs to anyone who was not perscribed them) I do have issues with the abuse that will arise from it.

Just so I dont start a flame war. I dont condem practice. I condone the information the op is giving. By all means, if he is able to offer drugs that can save or better a life for cheaper, I am all for it. I have to admit as a type 1 diabetic, I enquired on Insulin myself. I draw the line where you say hormone recplacment theropy can help everyone. DO YOU EVEB KNOW WHAT THE ENDROCRYNE SYSTEM IS?! Seriously! I spent only 4 years on this earth before having to march down hospital coridors to save my own life let alone withnes some of the most tear pulling sights of CHILDREN in conditions you could never imagine. Due to my own condition, I spoke to many who were one testosterone replacement theropy and if you only knew why these drugs exist, you would never consider it.
But I would just assume I have no first hand knowledge of what these drugs can do. Its not like my roommate lost his father while in grade school due to steroid use. I have not seen first hand the effects of parrents who illigally obtain these drugs to keep their children alive, only to find out that the drugs they have given their own children are knock-offs that nearly killed their own children. Its not like I have ever bought Insulin (a hormonal drug that can only keep one alive) only to find out that I had bought 10ml of water. I just read these forums and have never dealt with things like this. (scarcasm)
All I ask of the op is only to offer what is available and not give medical information. Flaxceed, please stop. I will buy you a plane ticket, fly you here to LA and take you to Childrens Hospital of LA and arange a few meetings with parrents and have them tell you how some guy told them that these drugs would help with the same symptoms and how it destroyed their child.

Yeah, this thread is really irresponsible.  You aren't selling to people who need it, you are advertising the benefits to make people feel they need these drugs.  If I was a mod, I would delete this thread and give you a stern warning.

Why don't you just use the silk road to sell your sketchy drugs?
