Hi everyone,

One of the common mistakes in the world of gambling now is that some people run to make quick money and are greedy by betting all their money and trying to make gambling their primary source of income. You find them spending hours in casinos and sites, regardless of their losses, trying to make up for it, and this is what often leads to more Of the losses that may lead them to bankruptcy, and there are also those who make betting the only means of entertainment and spending their  free time, even though they do not care about the size of their losses, they ignore the consequences, as the enthusiasm they find while playing will decrease with the passage of time and the matter will become tasteless..

Do not make gambling your only source of income or your only means of entertainment, as this will eliminate the first goal of gambling, which is pleasure.

I don't see or feel any pleasure from gambling when losing money and when gambling in continuity trying to hit money and you never achieve this.If I only want to play for the pleasure all providers give you the option to try their games in full for free through the option of demo mode and where you don't risk any money so if all you want is fun and pleasure don't go gambling with money rather keep playing demo mode which for most gamblers does not make sense.

Don't worry, I don't think anyone is gonna feel upset. This was the firs time anyone done something like this, it is not Superbru and it is a lot of manual work.

The worse thing is next season is a different format so you will probably have different things to understand and learn Wink

I think the 'mistake' was setting 10 Matchdays when some matchdays are 2 weeks of games apart. You can still increase Matchdays but yes Pot B leaders will be unhappy lol

I don't think Pot B leaders now would care much right now as the changes will be implemented next season and in fact I think adding more games is beneficial to Pot B lovers who like to not go all in finding upsets but play consistently trying to make 20 or more points and hoping to get a place in the big prize spots.

Luckily this upcoming week we are back in Champions League and we are getting closer to the end, only 10 games or 12 in total.

Just want to share.

https://youtu.be/k7aQEqDbuf8?t=4429
He was interviewed on Lex Fridman's channel just today. Funny how he thought it was just $80K but it's actually $3M. Rich men lose more when they get drunk playing blackjack.

He advises about winning and losing in gambling and if you get depressed because of it, gambling is not for you. He meant winning and losing are part of the game where great things and bad things happen.

Everyone basically know this but the problem is that most people like to win more than they like to lose and as such they cannot understand clearly that if they cannot withstand loses then it is much better for them to stop gambling as if they continue accumulated sadness can transform into depression making things much worse for them.

As for millionaires I never understand why they need to gamble in the first place.

New format won't be able to help
...

I honestly feel it will make things even worse. We'll have 10 meaningless games instead of 6, and there will be important games in the middle of the table but nobody will really care about them.
The reasoning for them is simple though - more games means more money. The big clubs will find it way easier to rotate though, so we'll once again wait for the groups to finish. This time it will just last longer and bore us even more.

I feel the new CL format will just speed up the Superleague format by a few years. Well played, UEFA.

I think that despite not liking much the new format,it is a needed change to be made as Champions League has been like this for years now and although this format runs pretty well, usually after so many years a change is needed to see what it generates.I think it will generate even more views and more interest in general by overall sport lovers. The more games we have the better only if they manage to bring more teams to the group stages,a thing which also boost the chances of not so strong teams to be here playing.

after the big earthquake that hit Taiwan, a rumor began to circulate according to which the Japanese Grand Prix might be canceled due to possible tsunamis and dangers deriving from it.

The danger seems to have canceld for now and there don't seem to be any consequences for the motorsport weekend.

I don't think they are going to cancel the event just because earthquakes no matter how strong they are and if they come from waters like Tsunami. The reason is that Japan is used to such events and they call them normal happenings, sure sometimes there maybe dangerous ones yet usually these are not common, the last one was that which created a huge crater in the road in 2008 or 2010 which they fixed already the next day,so most likely the event will be on.

What was your latest big win from gambling? How do you feel after your latest big win?  is $16700 last week and I have lost half of my latest big win cause most times I do chase my loss unconsciously. I really want to know how you do feel after your latest big win. Do you increase your betting stake with mindset( if I lose it’s not my hard earned money) or will you maintain your staking status quo?

Mine was on January 4 this year hitting 1339 dollars with a 0.10 bet in Return of the Green Knight slot.I withdrew that money and have invested it somewhere else online.Since that day though my lack has been darker and darker and I have only lost money in a continuous way which definitely led me to stop gamblign as I think to myself I would have plus 100-200 dollars a week more in my account to spend rather than losing them in gambling.
487  Other / Off-topic / Re: Gambling addiction is not about the money you could win; it's about the "win" it on: April 03, 2024, 12:29:25 PM
When I started gambling my mindset is solely about winning some cash to better my life but the more I gamble, the more that idea shifts. The money no longer satisfies my initial goal but the idea of winning does.

But even with those ideals in play, why would a millionaire start gambling in the first place?

so why would a rich athlete or politician become so addictive to gambling?

I think socialization+joy+drinking+gambling is satisfaction to them. What do you think?

I know very few millionaires who gamble and are addicted. We all know Drake but that guy is being hugely sponsored by a casino and cases of such celebrities and millionaires are rare.I see no reason in the first place why someone who has achieved quite a lot in their life should gamble, there is no logical sense to it knowing the gambling dangers,it is like going to tease the Lion in his cage so close that you risk to get your hand cut.
488  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: April 02, 2024, 09:40:20 PM
Good odds on the Real Madrid- Manchester City game, both above 2, but i feel is really risky to bet on it, maybe i put that on a multiple bet, but i dont wager big money on a single bet on it asides of what i think City is gonna win the game.

The main doubt is about how hard is this Real Madrid against good teams, is gonna be the first big team faced by this "" new"" real amdrid with Bellingham, so lets see.
I admired the outstanding Real Madrid players, more pointing out to Jude Bellingham who have been outstanding and well organized to suit into the top actions this season. He's the most significant player that have high risks of going further this season. Real Madrid vs Manchester City, a game that trends in every sectors of the system. Expects Pep Guardiola and Carlo Ancelotti to gives us a real show and I'm certain it will come from bothsides. A game we should all expects the very best performance from both sides as all they clinched for the big winnings.

We all have enjoyed Jude Bellingham great play and he inspires a lot of good football however in the Champions League game,in this season they,Real Madrid have left in me a very bad football play, taste and to me it was the most ugly football I have ever seen Real Madrid playing,I have said it many other times but I will say for many more times to come and that was the game Real vs Leipzig which is anti football being played and not real football. So based on this let me tell you or anyone who fancy a real advance for the next round that this is absolutely totally impossible if they keep playing like they did against Leipzig,I think City will make short of work of them very soon.
489  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Going all in and losing the bet on: April 02, 2024, 08:58:14 PM
I was just playing Hi-Lo, making small dollar bets, if it's 5 number card I select higher card and win, if it's 10 number then I go with 'low' and win.

Then I was greeted with Ace card, minimal possibility for equal card right (i.e, Ace), so I go all in, and guess what happens, the result is Ace means I lost the bet.

Then I have all sorts of thoughts blaming casino, like do they manipulate the result of the game when user goes all in. I am sure they are all fair, it's just that the possibility of losing the game may be minimal but it's never 0.
I can feel you with that , and this is the same reason why I stopped Playing Hi-lo because of this experience and for me this seems to be  a tricky bet from the provider and to take our money, looks like it is not about the Luck but about the game settings that will not le us win , though like you said they are all fair but sometimes we are truly doubting that reality.

I like to take these games more as fun and not gambling or ways to make more money. If it's good, if not that's okay too, I had fun. I think more about real world bets, that way I get better winnings and I don't have to wonder if X or Y is stealing or winning etc.

That is a good way of maximizing your chances and you maybe saying to yourself that you did your best at choosing these bets that mostly will make you money.I am also one of those guys who used to believe a bit of research could lead to continuous gains through winning such bets. For my bitter truth though I learned that there are huge factors impacting the games, starting from how the referee feels during that game and how he makes errors that result in the losing of such bets, that is why I have come to the conclusion that the only wins come from not gambling,if you want to gamble a bit for fun go and do it but if you expect to be consistent in winnings through gambling better forget about it.
490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: April 02, 2024, 08:32:41 PM
When was the last time in your life when you saw gambling addicted person? Or have anyone of you ever seen such people? I see a lot of people talk about addicted people, but all they know about them is from reading articles or someone has told them. I have also read about ludomania, but in person never ever seen addicted people. Or maybe from first look it is impossible to tell if person is addicted. I have only see drunk people near offline casinos. But I doubt that they were addicted gamblers.
Until now I still see people addicted to gambling, even though I don't ask directly continuously but I know how he behaves towards gambling, there is even news from his friends or family that his money always runs out in gambling games that he gets after working for a whole month, meaning that until now there are still people addicted without seeing the news in the article.

This is not a little even a lot from our circle, it's just that they always cover it up by saying they don't gamble every day, it's just an excuse because gambling is now more easily accessible without many people knowing.

I have never understood what these guys think when they go and leave their whole salary in gambling through slot machines and other luck games. Not longer than yesterday I was reading in Stake chat that someone had 1000 EUR rent and over 500 EUR bills yet he thought it was more important to gamble and I don't know if he pays his bills regularly though I am assuming no based on his bet id-s shared there he was playing with huge amount of bet in slot machines buying the bonuses mostly through Pragmatic Play and Hacksaw Gaming which are some of the hardest providers to keep you in the winning loop consistently.

So yes although not in the news these type of guys exist and they are some of us  Grin.
491  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you regret also for ever knowing about gambling? on: April 02, 2024, 08:13:49 PM
The decision to enter the world of gambling is purely your own decision, we cannot blame other people for this. If we have a strong stance, I'm sure we can resist gambling. When I stay in Philippines, my two friends and I got into a casino and played slots and other gambling games, even though we lost money there, we also made a profit from playing slot machines. The point is that gambling is just for fun, don't make it your main choice to make money, if you want to make a lot of money, work at a job that can make a lot of money. If you continue like that then your friendship will be damaged.

Always use money that is actually ready to be spent or loss.

I agree. Friendships that involve gambling can be lost very quickly. This is a very bad foundation. The same applies to spouses. Where there is a place for gambling addiction or any other addiction, there will be no freedom, trust and reliability.
As for the fact that you need to use only money that you can afford to lose and forget about, there is probably no need to write about it. If a person uses money that is critical to him or borrows money, then this is a separate type of perversion on himself and probably on his loved ones

I have been in all those situations above, from playing for fun with friends, from losing them and from going all in and getting hugely into addiction. After suffering from all these symptoms I finally managed to leave them somewhat behind and put up family and I am very happy since then.I continued gambling, not with that level of spending,in fact way less since I have my own family as that keeps me going and motivated. What has helped me is the way someone thinks before gambling, personally every time I feel the urge to gamble I say to myself imagine if I had saved all that money where I would be now and so I have started to use patience and motivation as the number one tool to forget gambling completely.
492  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Patience can help alot on: April 02, 2024, 07:58:13 PM
At first when I see the topic and the first paragraph, I was saying how patient come to gambling but the "Cash out" statement made me to calm down. Op gambling is risk taking when the game shows you to Cash out and you want to keep it then you have to risk your capital but if you use patient to wait you might not have the luck to win. This has happened to many gamblers including me. I have gambled a game and it asked me to cash out but I refused to cash it out. And the game cut at the end and I loss all. And my advice to such scenario, if the amount you used to bet is not big then you can be patient to see the end because probably if you loss it might not pain you. But if the amount is big then I advise to cash out so you won't lose all.
Gambling is often a game of chance and trust me when I say it can be really tempting to try to hold out for a bigger payout, so cashing out could be pretty difficult and almost impossible sometimes, but like you said in your statement, there's a very huge risk of losing every damn thing if one refuses to cash out when the cash out option appears. I remember someone on this forum who also had an opportunity to cash out but decided to leave it to play through, and at the end, he lost the bet. These things are bound to happen, so one should always prepare and expect the worse. I always tell people, if eventually anyone ever decides not to cash out, it should be money that won't affect you when you lose it, because losing a bet which you had the chance to cash out can really come with lots of regret.

I have started being patient,I don't gamble and go all in anymore like I used to and that in the future translates into more money saved in your account.Every time someone talks to me now about gambling and how huge someone hit something I stay calm and tell them that most likely those people have lost much more than won,in fact I remember someone telling me I am a master at slots because I have lost so many millions playing them, you know what I told him,I told him honestly I think you are more stupid than a master as if you were a master you should have known your mathematical chances are against you and stop playing once you realized how much you have lost.So yes patience pays off a lot but is very difficult to achieve it while gambling.
493  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The most logical and profitable game on: April 02, 2024, 04:37:14 PM
The best game will be the one in which there is no advantage of the casino over you. But for such an advantage to be absent, the element of luck in the game must be very small. Of course, sports betting is a betting game in which the bookmaker does not have as much of an advantage as the casino does when playing roulette over you. In sports betting, the bookmaker can often make mistakes. In addition, the bookmaker is often hostage to the erroneous calculations of other bookmakers. This is a fun thing that can bring profit to the player.

I agree with you yet tell me how many times the bookies make erroneous calculations and yeah they are very few and most people are afraid to go place bets against the bookies,I don't know anyone bold enough to be betting on a sport even where team 1 has an odd of 1.33 the draw 5.60 and the second team, the 2 has an odd of 9.00,no one would be bold enough to bet on the odd of 9 for the second team. That is where bookies in sport betting take their advantage from, every weekend massive surprise results happen and I took an example from soccer but in tennis and basketball even lower odds than 1.10 lose games so in here is where the bookies are hoping to get their profit.Of course this is much better than playing slot machines and predetermined result RNG games so this remains one of the most logical game still today.

It's doesn't make sense to risk and throw him to wounded lions (Mancity) like that. Win or Lose Aston villa are in safe heaven.
Tell that to Arteta. Saka and Martinelli should have been rested on Sunday.
We have 2 premier league games in 4 days against tricky opponents and a visit from European giants Bayern Munich soon after, we need not exacerbate any injuries our players may have.

City alone should score over 1.5 goals against Villa.

Martinelli has too many bench options, but there are no good options for Saka - Arteta lost the league last season because he overused Saka and got his ass burned near the end of the season; this could happen again!!!

Saka has little competition in his position and no rest; unless this issue is addressed, Saka may become another Hazard, accumulated hits/knocks every game and became weak at 30.

Both Arsenal and Manchester City have fallen behind now and judging that only 8 games are left so far including today and tomorrow games I doubt Liverpool will have much of a problem to keep the standings the way they are right now and become Champions of the Premier League. They have quite an easy game again at home against Sheffield United,Arsenal also against Luton while City is facing a stronger Aston Villa,so most likely two sure results during this midweek games will be the win of Liverpool and Arsenal and it won't matter for Saka if he will be play or not,Arsenal can win this game even without him.
495  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many times all-in save your bankroll? on: April 02, 2024, 03:52:44 PM
I knew that most of us here experienced doing an all-in bet whenever when we are already down significantly amount of our bankroll and already get tired to slowly earn back your losses.

I’ve done this several times and I manage to save my bankroll to profit/breakeven greater than suffering a total loss. I usually use the craps or mines to do the all-in bet to have a potential profit greater than x2 while I have more lifeline for my bet rather than a straight bet with x2 multiplier.

What game is your favorite to do this and what’s your record so far if you can still track it?

I have only done that a couple of times, the first time I got all in buying the bonus in Pragmatic Play with 65 dollar buy bonus in Rabbit Garden and it gave me over 360 dollars in profit,I tried a couple other times and all other times the same result with losing everything so that is one of the bitter experiences for me in gambling.I of course never do this again in slot machines,I still do it though through sport betting and I love an odd of 7-8 in total with just 3-4 games to choose from to play my last money as an all in and I have won and lost,so more normal outcomes while I play sport betting than slot machines.
496  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: April 01, 2024, 03:10:31 PM
Meanwhile, regarding the opportunity for Atletico Madrid to return to the top four, this opportunity is now very open thanks to Real Madrid beating Atletic Bilbao yesterday. In my opinion, Diego Simeone squad will be able to secure full points when they visit Villarreal headquarters, because on paper Atletico Madrid has better squad depth. Diego Simeone will try to break the bad trend of his team because in the last two matches Atletico Madrid lost, this is the right momentum to create a positive trend again. It is clear that Atletico Madrid will have a little difficulty beating Villarreal, because their opponents have been performing well recently.

Atletico Madrid just had a 0-3 loss against Barcelona right at home, and with the above result, Atletico Madrid is paying the price for its bad performance, which is being knocked out of the top 4 of La Liga. Of course, the race is still under control when Atletico Madrid is only 1 point behind Bilbao. Since the 2012/13 season until now, Atletico has never been outside the final Top 3 in the national championship. But this season, it is unknown whether there will be a surprising result. As for Villarreal, coach Marcelino Toral helped Villarreal's revival. Villarreal has improved significantly compared to the beginning of the tournament.
It is the contrasting performance of both that makes Atletico much underestimated. With home field advantage, I think it's likely that Villarreal will go from a draw to a win.

Well it will be difficult for Atletico Madrid to get a win out of this game as they are playing away from home and in a difficult stadium against Villareal where their strongest hub is when they play at home.Atletico Madrid needs desperately to win against whoever opponent and they will go all in during tonight match as their only option to have a chance to be in control of being in that 4th place. If they lose again tonight then most likely they need to say good bye to playing in the Champions League as Athletic Bilbao is in a perfect form so far and I think they can keep up with good results to be playing again in Champions League after so long.
497  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: April 01, 2024, 02:31:34 PM
PSG's location is intriguing. They're one of the major financial powers.  Losing Mbappe hurts, but they'll recover. The Yamal rumors and insane price tag show they're playing the long game. I know money doesnt buy trophies, but it opens doors, right?

I understand Mbappe leaving. Superstar kid craves attention. We cant fault his ambition. Yamal, its speculation for now. That would be impressive if PSG did that. Its a power move, not just a Mbappe replacement. Proof they're constantly competitive.
PSG knows what they have to do to get a replacement for Mbappe next season, because in general PSG has the money and also has the ability to recruit other players who can balance the strengths in the PSG team next season. And apart from that, PSG will not immediately be left behind or become weak if Mbappe is left behind, because other teams in the French League also do not have players who are greater than Mbappe. So PSG can still be a team that can continue to dominate League 1 every season.

I think that PSG is very good as is even without Mbappe they can still dominate the Ligue 1 in France. The problem is they need Mbappe services if they fancy a chance to win the Champions League title as that is their main objective after dominating for so many years now the Ligue 1,I think they are fully focusing on Champions League and they need players like Mbappe.

Mbappe on the other hand should move to a team permitting him to win that trophy as I doubt he will be happy to just lift the Ligue 1 trophy every season and never be able to win a Champions League trophy, based on this I think he should move out of Paris to a team with better chances to win the Champions League.

Liverpool showed a great game play yesterday as they came back from disadvantage to win the game against Brighton.I know that this season Brighton has been one of the most inconsistent teams not only in Premier League but also in the European competition that they played yet Liverpool showed character and determination to get the win which they definitely got in the end of the day.

The draw between Manchester City and Arsenal further suited Liverpool to be leading the league alone now and to have everything in their power so they can be Champions of the Premier League once again now, there are only 7-8 games to be played and I am sure Liverpool can handle this.

I doubt 2miners will be shut down and they are offering Ethereum Classic from their offerings to the miners,by the way why are you worried for a coin which I believed hard it had a bright future yet I know it doesn't have any future this type of coin, out of all this last bull run it was the only coin who didn't take steam and I doubt it will ever do so after seeing the behavior of Ethereum Classic during this time.

I suggest you stop mining it or put your hash rate to better use as there are much better options to mine unless you have a video card with less than 8 GB of memory then go ahead and mine ETC.
500  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have a habit of tracking your gambling progress? on: April 01, 2024, 01:23:06 PM
What patterns I can identify and build if all rounds are random? If there was at least one constant variable, then it would be possible to try to build a pattern. What can behavior analysis also give, if when I win I am happy, and when I lose I am sad. In addition to this, all gambling sessions happen on random times. For me it is a complete random and I dont know how usage of such info might help me in future.

I guess what we have neglected here to easily track our pattern in gambling is to have an account of our bankroll. Knowing at least how much we won or loss it's the most important thing to do as you can't declare yourself a winner if you win on a certain session but in reality you're overall record is negative.

You can do that on games you think you have a chance on winning in the long run, but for games that are "random" or best refer as luck based games, there's no need to check the pattern as the reality is we all lose in the long run. your pattern only does focus if you gamble based or beyond your budget, so you can correct any mistakes you've done.

Then there is one indicator that you can use for measurement - deposit/withdrawal. Because it does not matter if you win 100 times, when you can withdraw less than deposited. But what is the point of tracking such info? And this indicator turns to be useless for people who deposit to have fun. They pay for fun and they dont care if there is anything left on the balance by the end of a day. As for me, when deposit = spend, as well as lose = spend, such tracking makes no use. I dont measure my gambling as profitable or not, I measure it with I had enough fun or not yet.

I think this one is the best indicator as it shows that the person cares for how much money he lost or won. When the deposits are more than the withdrawals and withdrawals are of low values it is a clear sign that you are doing something wrong.Lately I always withdraw any winnings that I make with the already allocated budget for gambling and if I lose that budget I call it a day and I quit.

This is working well as sometimes when you win you withdraw in continuity when you are hitting a good run,and as such you can enjoy winnings when you have a good day and be careful in bad days to not over do the already allocated budget you have set for gambling.
