In many of previous blog-posts, we had promised our community that we’ll have VOISE tokens listed on a top five exchange this exchange was OKEX, a Belize-based virtual currency exchange. Our promise was derived from a business commitment made by the OKEX team which, as we thought, was going to be executed in February. We need to inform our valued community that the deal between Voise and OKEX met a dead end only recently, after multiple delays on the part of the OKEX team, we took over the project and during the negotiations the exchange changed the parameters for listing the Voise token. We feel they should have honored the original contract, despite any current policy changes. We do not mean to put the OKEX team in a bad light but their refusal to list us after they agreed to list us, has gone over our heads. We have asked them for a proper explanation on the matter, but we haven’t received any concrete response yet. Which is why, we have decided to redirect our resources to get listed on other exchanges and we will revisit OKEX when we meet their new requirements that they have imposed on us and other projects. This is not isolated to Voise, from our understanding other projects are having similar listing issues. Pangborn Development Site VWork continues building out the Giga Watt facilities at Pangborn MAY 4  We have hit our depth of 500 feet for our grounding well and the PUD has signed off on the resistance test that was done. We can now begin backfilling the substation site and prepare it for connecting it to the grid and asphalt.  The company that provided our H-Frame made a mistake on the holes that fit into our concrete columns, they are currently working on a quick solution and we will hopefully have it fixed and installed next week. Our curbs and sidewalks have been formed and poured and next week we will have asphalt being laid as our site will be nearing completion.  The Chelan county PUD is putting a lot of pressure on the county to discontinue home mining operations and some of that FUD is tightening up restrictions and regulations in our county.  Giga-Watt is continuing to work closely with Douglas county PUD to ensure that we get this site up and running as quickly as possible. This kind of unique fan culture in Korea is not just for fans to reach their favorite artists, but for artists, their fans give tremendous power to them. For each artists, their fans are everything. Well, they give gifts, of course, sometimes it is big fancy gifts like bags, watches, clothes from luxury brands and they collect all the money from their fan communities to make your favorite artists feel happier, but this is just the beginning of it. Definitely, Korea’s fandom culture is not just giving gifts to their favorite ones. It is more like sharing. Fans collect their money to send food truck to feed all the staff members who participated in making drama. It is for people who worked so hard for their artists, wishing that they produce great drama for their artists. This kind of sounds like helicopter mom wishing their children to be better at everything and I have to agree, it is a lot like that. (That is why sometimes their beloved fans also bring problems for them too.) The most funny thing about K-pop fans to non-fans is that they try to promote their favorite idol bands to other people. It is because they wish them the best for them. One thing that is quite common in Korea is putting up a poster or an electronic display of their favorite artists on the subway wall on their birthday! It is to celebrate their birthday but it is just not only that. It is to make sure everyone to see it, making everyone to notice it and celebrate it together. It is common thing to do it. Not only just in subway, but on buses and a screen from movie theaters and big buildings where everybody can see them. Now you kind of get the whole picture of it: Kpop fans just looooooooooove sharing them. But here is the problem. For international fans, they don’t have as many opportunities like domestic fans in Korea, so they get frustrated and this is the point where KSC comes in. Vote of Confidence: Voting for the Ageshttps://medium.com/votem/vote-of-confidence-voting-for-the-ages-d01fd823843a This past Tuesday, a bill was submitted to the DC Council that would lower the District’s voting age in all elections to 16. If passed, the bill would allow 16 and 17-year-olds to vote in everything from local to federal contests. With Congress having the final say on all legislation passed in DC, the bill will most likely not pass. The bill does, however, raise an important point about enfranchising some of our youngest voters and how mobile voting may be an inevitbalility. In Takoma Park, MD, a suburb just north of D.C., 16 and 17-year-olds are allowed to vote in local and municipal elections. In 2013, the first year these minors were able to participate, 44% of those registered came out to vote. For a national election, this turnout rate would be paltry, but for this election, which was to elect council members and mayor, only 11% of the rest of the adult population of Takoma Park turned out to vote. The turnout discrepancy demonstrated a desire to participate in local government amongst local youth, one that is considerably larger than most adults. Webroots Democracy (WB), a British think tank dedicated to mobile voting, recently published a study on the potential success of an online voting program in Scotland. Data in the report demonstrates how the youngest eligible voting block in the U.K., 18–24-year-olds, have a considerably lower turnout in the past five General Elections than the oldest block, those who are 65 years or older. The same study shows data that, for activities like banking and email, the percent of online engagement is nearly the inverse. In the UK’s next general election, the youngest voters will have been born in 2004 and will have spent their entire lives gaining fluency in a newly minted mobile world. According to the British Office of National Statistics, 98% of British individuals ages 16–24 use the internet while on the go. A Pew Study from 2016 shows the discrepancies in internet use and smartphone ownership on a global scale, and the numbers are no less stark than in the UK. In some of the world’s fastest-growing countries, like Nigeria and India, the difference in smartphone ownership and internet usage between those above and below the age of 34 years. While none of these statistics are particularly shocking, they do speak to a considerable shift in the standards of communication in our changing world. It also begs the question, how do governments harness youthful enthusiasm for politics in a pragmatic way? We have a nascent generation of adults who are interacting in a way that is completely different from what we were used to 20 years ago. Mobile voting is a simple, cost-effective solution that would allow a generation already literate in mobile technology to participate in the democratic process without dealing with the ideologically remote logistics of traditional polling places. If we are to engage the youth vote, the easiest way will be to offer them a method to cast their ballot in a medium with which they are already proficient. The dissonance between our current technological standards and outdated voting methods will have a greater impact on our youth than the current, average voter. No matter the outcome of DC’s proposed voting bill, its submission should serve as a portent of a new generation of voters who will have vastly different standards than we have today.
