4821  Economy / Lending / Re: Free lightning tests on: February 11, 2020, 01:19:37 AM
Do you have a TestNet Lightning setup at all? I've managed to get Lightning on my "home built" Electrum 4.0.0a0 up and running and a channel opened... but it's on TestNet as I wasn't really brave enough to do it on MainNet at the moment Tongue

No I don't deal with testnet. I'd rather risk my funds and learn from my mistakes...

LoyceV or potentially timelord may be able to help there (or daveF). Although it seems loyce might have closed his thread like timelord did - they may still have some testnet funds available though.

My Eclair testnet wallets seem to be still working ok - head over to my lending thread and send me a request.

(Haven't figured out if Blue wallet takes testnet coins as yet.)

There's also the Lightning Network Lenders' (and borrowers) discussion thread if you run into any trouble.
4822  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BPIP] Bitcointalk Public Information Project [Back in Action] on: February 11, 2020, 01:07:37 AM
I'm guessing it might be related to this?  What does your warning say?
https://www.ghacks.net/2019/09/06/firefox-add-ons-warning-this-extension-isnt-monitored-by-mozilla/

In a yellow dialogue box I have the warning "This listing is not intended for this platform." which I'm presuming is the Android device as the PC version just had a generic "untested" warning similar to the spelling/dictionary extension I installed not that long ago.

I was able to install it and enabled the server-based features without any warnings, both in Firefox and in Tor Browser on Android (other than Tor Browser's standard request to allow addons.mozilla.org).

It's definitely an android version of Firefox on my mobile phone.

Timelord2067, please post or PM a screenshot if you can. Granted there is nothing we can do if it's a standard warning but let's make sure that's what it is.

I'm working on it.

I tried to install BPIP for Firefox on my mobile phone (android).

Got a terse warning not to install it.
4824  Economy / Speculation / Re: One satoshi for $1 dollar will occur someday on: February 10, 2020, 03:38:28 PM
Why don't you make some simple calculations before posting such outlandish claims? If the exchange rate climbs to $1 per Satoshi (or $100 million per BTC), then the total market capitalization of Bitcoin would be $1,800 trillion. The current global wealth is estimated at somewhere between $250 trillion and $300 trillion. Now you are claiming that the market cap of Bitcoin would be 6 times the global wealth.

Think BIG:

$1.8 Quadrillion.  Grin  Cool  Kiss

(short form)
4825  Economy / Speculation / Re: One satoshi for $1 dollar will occur someday on: February 10, 2020, 03:32:50 PM
Someday? It can be today! Anyone can buy 1 satoshi from me for a dollar!

You beat me to saying that!

In any event, as one person has already pointed out the Lightning Network deals in fractions of a satoshi.  Some exchanges are already permitting trading to occur to on hundredth of a satoshi in bitcoin (as opposed to other alts) - the eight decimal places can shift one way or the other with consensus.  I suspect Satoshi created eight decimal places to enable users to get used to having such small fractions, but envisaged even smaller units would follow wide acceptance.

Twenty-one Million Bitcoins Divided by Seven billion people is roughly BTC 0.003 for every person on the planet.

A while ago there was a 21 BitCoin Club being one-millionth of the total number of BitCoins that will become available.  I'm not even sure it still exists (they may have cashed in already).

The "must own crypto to win!" tells me that he will be asking all "winners" to send him some crypto first before they could claim their reward OR he will send a few then offers the winner a double your bitcoin scheme.

Looking at the account's post history, I think it's a stolen account. I don't see any crypto related posts prior to this giveaway tweet.

Yeh I did wonder about that - might be a way to gather intel on who has what at a given point in time - who knows?

It's been 22 hours so I guess we only have another ~26 hours to wait.

Are there any lists of casino's in this section?

Perhaps when you are gathering these sites you can compile them into your OP for people to reference in the future.  (I have enough lists I'm supposed to be comiling, so I'll have to excuse myself from putting my hand up).

*edit* just saw another thread https://www.luckydragon.us/ - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5222674.0 (in saying that it hasn't had very good reviews so far)
4829  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Site's Investing (Is it worth it?) on: February 10, 2020, 03:05:59 AM
As with any investment (stock exchange, house, car etc) you have to separate your emotions from the purchase (unless it's a collectables purchase then all bests are off).  You need to do your research, check the company out - what's the buzz around the company, good or bad?  What return are you looking for - long term or short term gains.  Plus, you have to look out for how easy is it to liquidate if you suddenly need to cash out?

If this person says they have paid out winnings, it would be worth noting where the funds came from and more importantly where they go.
4832  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BPIP] Bitcointalk Public Information Project [Back in Action] on: February 09, 2020, 03:00:24 AM
Interesting changes - I liked how a person could see at a glance the current value of a person on DT1 (3), (0), (-3) etc.

I suspect there's some back-of-house work at the monthly DT1 roster update which makes it seem this person no longer distrust/trust this person as they slip on or off of DT1, however, I just would like to point out:

I haven't "no longer distrust the person" - it seems to occur randomly to other users as well during a month.
4833  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BPIP] Bitcointalk Public Information Project [Back in Action] on: February 08, 2020, 04:09:20 PM
Did you install the old extension?

No, I only installed it yesterday (Version 2) via the Firefox site via the link provided by suchmoon overnight, so no third party interference.

First error I've found:

Thanks. For some reason the browser decided to run it twice, which in theory shouldn't happen. I think I'll need to add a check to not add those widgets if they already exist.

As a suggestion on a person's profile page, perhaps their ranking could be added?  I would imagine that it would be too problematic to add it to every single last page for every last user, but perhaps on a profile page would be the ideal location.

Another suggestion concerning the DT1/DT2 labels, perhaps green/grey/red for each rank depending on a users positive, neutral or negative DT1/DT2 position

4836  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ | Up to 0.0375 BTC/w on: February 07, 2020, 04:39:41 PM
Use Bitcoin Core wallet or Electrum. They both support native segwit and you have the seeds or private keys. Just make sure to get them from the official website, verify the hashes, verify the signatures and you'll be fine.
Mycelium also support segwit

You can also generate a paper segwit wallet via this site: https://segwitaddress.org/ and import the private key - (in bitcoin core) you end up with three wallet addresses ( 1xxx 3xxx bcxxx ) via the one private key.
4837  Other / Meta / Re: My Own Personalized Merit calculator on: February 07, 2020, 07:50:57 AM
At the moment, It doesn't have a calculation for the potential activities of the users, but I could add it soon as I learn deeper from the system. I would be glad to upload the source code as well. So you guys could develop some applications too like this.

Thanks for the almost instant reply - most of my online time is done via PC.  Sadly my days of html are far behind me as is my limited programming kills.
4838  Other / Meta / Re: My Own Personalized Merit calculator on: February 07, 2020, 07:43:10 AM
Thanks for taking the time to create this app.

Will there be a website for ease of use?

Also, does your app calculate potential activity?  There was a website a few years back that calculated potential activity (admittedly to put a dollar value on UID's that were then offered up for sale), however it's interesting to see what potential activity some lower end users have especially if they have a sudden burst of activity and climb the activity ladder.
4839  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: VanitySearch (Yet another address prefix finder) on: February 07, 2020, 06:50:56 AM
Sorry if this has been asked already, but is it possible to update the search text file with new prefix options while the program is running, or will it require a restart? (is that part of the base key creation?)

This is my 5,000th post.

Many thanks to everyone who has continued to make the Known Alts thread a successful tool in the hunt to identify both alts themselves and potential or actual scammers.

@Jawhead999:

In case you weren't already aware, there is a submission form that can be found in the OP.  If you can use this form from now that would be appreciated.  Don't forget to archive as you go (archive links in OP) and include any useful information in your submissions to assist others who might refer to your investigation if they happen upon more alts of the same person.
