4821  Local / Italiano (Italian) / Re: [SPECULAZIONE] BITCOIN PUMP! on: February 10, 2015, 11:16:37 AM

4822  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 20MB Fork on: February 10, 2015, 11:12:23 AM
So at the end what are the real problems with the hard-fork ?

- Bandwidth
- Download/upload (of all the users)
- The reward fee for the  Pools (miners).
..
...
4823  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Permanently keeping the 1MB (anti-spam) restriction is a great idea ... on: February 10, 2015, 10:51:50 AM
Check this :  Why would anyone host a 1 MB full node if they can only use the blockchain once per decade?  (http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2vec37/why_would_anyone_host_a_1_mb_full_node_if_they/)

I hear such arguments, but it is the +1Billion users postulate that sounds kinda cultish to me.

"Bitcoin for 7billion people", "Bitcoin for Africa", "Bitcoin for unbanked"..
I ear this a lot but think that this is nothing close to reality.

Masses just really dont give a dam about finance, monetary policies or internet of things. They need jobs and food.

Yes of course , bitcoin is for all the world but some people don't have neither the access on internet/smartphone (with 3G). So you are right, for the moment not all the people can use bitcoin but this fork is necessary at least for rise the limit of TX per second.

4825  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $25,000 in Bitcoin Seized from Alleged Software Scam Operator on: February 10, 2015, 09:38:56 AM
Justice be served, its not because someone is using Bitcoin or any other crypto that makes them a saint being attacked by the evil state while committing crimes.

Yes of course, every scammer should pay.

"Approximately 105 BTC and 900 LTC were cited in a civil forfeiture that included more than $7m, hundreds of gold and silver bars and coins, and a number of luxury items including sports cars, wedding rings and a diamond-encrusted Rolex."

Not much Bitcoin seized compared to the value of other stuff seized...

I know it is not much, but it is always a scam and they should pay.
4826  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Hong Kong's MyCoin Disappears With Up To $387 Million, Reports Claim on: February 10, 2015, 08:58:01 AM
An interesting article also on cryptoArticles.com :

"Original sources report that Mycoin.hk has been involved in some sort of mining contract ponzi scheme-esque deal, where users are promised a daily 0.64 Bitcoin payout after they make a massive upfront investment. It has to be said however that there are conflicting reports out there in regards to how much money has officially been stolen by Mycoin.hk."

4827  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Andreas Antonopoulos said Give Bitcoin Two Years on: February 10, 2015, 08:53:58 AM

I'm happy if we make it past April.

That doesn't sound like great optimism coming from a Legendary member. Sad
There are a lot of butt hurt legendary members who bought hundreds maybe thousands of BTC very early but sold far too early missing the chance to become multi, multi millionaires.

And some may have sold their accounts to make a little of that money back.

He is waiting surely the next block reward halving,  the price and the adoption will rise .....

I almost forgot about the blockhalving. Smiley

It's not guaranteed to rise but hopefully should because of supply and demand but maybe the demand will not be that great by then. We can only wait and see.

Yes I know, but if the adoption will rise also the price will rise (or at least that's how should it work). However you are right, we have only to wait and see what will happen.
4828  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / $25,000 in Bitcoin Seized from Alleged Software Scam Operator on: February 10, 2015, 08:40:16 AM
"A cache of bitcoins and litecoins has been seized by federal law enforcement officials as part of an investigation into alleged counterfeit software sales and distribution.

Approximately 105 BTC and 900 LTC were cited in a civil forfeiture that included more than $7m, hundreds of gold and silver bars and coins, and a number of luxury items including sports cars, wedding rings and a diamond-encrusted Rolex.
"

I've discovered this news yesterday at  :  http://www.coindesk.com/25000-bitcoin-seized-alleged-software-scam/

What do you think guys ?
4829  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Got scammed 150$ by member cxboyminer - UID : 148493 on: February 10, 2015, 08:35:52 AM
that account(cxboyminer - UID : 148493) is up for sale by user "Guidedog"
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=949287.msg10394486#msg10394486

if you check all his given specs for the account he is selling it confirmed that its cxboyminer account

i request moderator and default trust list members to check this account and after confirmation leave him red trust so that he can't scam more peoples after this

I don't know but as he (Guidedog) told :

Hi,

the account is not mine anymore. cxboyminer was mine until i repaid my loan after someone from IRC contacted me about the account. I can provide username for irc if needed. I sold that account in November 28th 2014.

4833  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hong Kong's MyCoin Disappears With Up To $387 Million on: February 10, 2015, 07:22:20 AM
so many sources are wrong on this story, it's incredible tbh.

Mycoin HK offered a ponzi scheme contract which was paid in FIAT currency, no one ever invested a single Bitcoin into this scam.

All investors were promsied a guaranteed 90 Bitcoin payout when their contract matured.

http://www.cryptoarticles.com/crypto-news/mycoinhk-packages-fiat-currency-ponzi-scheme-as-guaranteed-bitcoin-payout

Yes at the end all the investors lost only the HK Dollars and not bitcoin. We have seen this bad news didn't affect the bitcoin price (check the various charts)  because no one bitcoin "has been dumped".

4836  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Blockchain vs Electrum on: February 10, 2015, 06:50:53 AM
-snip-

Are you talking about blockchain.info ? I don't suggest it... instead it is better greenAddress.it (multiSig + 2FA+ istant confirm). What do you want more? However also electrum it is a good desktop wallet.

Isn't greenaddress in the end just like another on-line wallet? I don't know much about it. Does the user gets his private keys? How is it more secured than blockchain?
It's really just your preference, however, greenaddress does offer better security and features. Greenaddress allows you to setup a transaction limit and will limit your transaction volume. If your account gets hacked, the hacker will not be able to make more transaction than what you specified. Also, blockchain.info has some security holes before.

Yes, it is 100 time more secure than blockchain.info - check the greenAddress official thread here in the forum : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=521988.0

atomic-trade.com (23.101.121.25)

HTTP server signature   Microsoft-IIS/8.5

Downgrade attack prevention =    No, TLS_FALLBACK_SCSV not supported
This server accepts the RC4 cipher, which is weak. = RC4   Yes   WEAK

Wow what secret government tool did you have to use to find those "vulnerabilities"? was it one of those things that can traverse Uniform Resource Identifier's and parse hyper text markup language? I heard you need GAMMA clearance to use those.

I think he didn't use that tool // pure sarcasm  Roll Eyes. However, pay attention guys it seems he doesn't work for DoD  Cheesy.
4838  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hong Kong's MyCoin Disappears With Up To $387 Million on: February 10, 2015, 06:09:24 AM
Thats the end of bitcoin

And there´s nothing we can do about it. I´ll give it 4-5 more months before life support system will be shutdown completly.  Undecided

No , that's not the end.

It is the end if HK$ , they have robbed 3b of HK$  Roll Eyes .

4840  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How do I obtain the individual Public Keys from my Electrum Bitcoin Addresses? on: February 09, 2015, 09:59:37 PM
in the receive tab where all your addresses are, you can right click and from the menu you can choose private key, QR code and other stuff

I do not see an option to find my PUBLIC KEY under the Receive Tab.

I only see the option to get my PRIVATE KEY.

Which version of electrum are you running at the moment ?

I am running Electrum V 1.9.8

If you are using windows, download the new electrum version (beta 2.0b2.exe ) at : https://electrum.org/beta . After import your addresses with your seed, in the new version you can know easily the public key of a bitcoin address:

Perfect.......This worked.......Thanks a lot redsn0w!!

You are welcome, but how Abdussamad told :

Don't download the beta version. That is for testing and should not be used to store significant sums.

Pay attention, thanks.
