What is my statement:

Due to some issues I had with my hard drive I almost lost access to one of the addresses I signed a message. I scared for a moment, because I couldn't prove that I'm the owner of the account (whether if it'll be hacked in the future or not). I want to state that only the vanity address is valid. Signatures with the other address is no longer a verification that I'm BlackHatCoiner. I'd also like to say that whoever has at least two of the above proofs (address, booknemonic, PGP) is BlackHatCoiner.

My humble attempt has shown "BAD signature from the public key provided!"

If the winnings are properly and responsively invested and spent
it would set your family's lives up and the next generation also.

Its such a pity to see such a life changing event turn into a sad result.

Its very important to employ the services of a professional who is
used to dealing with clients with a high net worth.

The last thing I would be doing is creating too much attention upon
myself but I would make sure to enjoy it and make sure my family
is well looked after and my friends too.
That is what some of the people on my list did too, they prioritized family and friends to the point that they were run dry because the whole family tree wanted to get a piece of the pie even though they did not know the winner directly or have met them once. It is the best way to do in my opinion, hiding your identity to prevent instantaneous celebrity status which many aren't ready for especially those that won the lottery, they will be flocked by vultures that you call friends. Sadly, most of the winners are not financially responsible, and do not pity them, they did it unto themselves knowing the consequences.

I can see how shortsighted those people on your list were for not
restricting their giveaway to immediate family and close friends.

If the winner has no experience or concept of managing finance I
can see how they would think the funds would never run out.

Aunts, Uncles and Cousins you see once a year get to attend 1
celebrationary party at best.

4844  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the most important cryptocurrencies other than bitcoin? on: January 26, 2021, 09:37:55 AM
Monero has been around since 2014, which is an eternity in the crypto currency realm. Its use is rapidly growing in dark net markets, where BTC is being rejected because BTC is not private.

Most regulated exchanges are reluctant to list Monero and this has limited its market capitalization for the time being.

Monero is real crypto cash. BTC was supposed to be real crypto cash, but fell short of the mark.

Monero’s future is bright. I expect that it will eventually eclipse BTC, but we are still a few years away from that.

Monero has its useages, it is really good at providing anonymity compared
to Bitcoin, it is its specialty.

Bitcoin can still be used for what it was designed to do, A peer-to-peer electronic
payment system.

Monero eclipsing BTC, in a few years? well "a few" specifically means 3, so I
dont need to go any further with the discussion on this.

Ethereum is the obvious most important crypto other then Bitcoin, it is the
foundations which DeFi is being built on and I suspect like the ALT Coin
space a lot of them will either fad away or be replaced/overtaken by a newer
project offering better features.

Just scrolling through the top100 in coinmarketcap I see a lot of projects
which in their day were the newest and brightest thing, EOS, TRON, NEO,
IOTA and BAT.

Polkadot and Chainlink are the new top 10 flavours

Yes that was me who changed the email.

So can you sign a message from an old address ??

I can, but how will that correspond to me changing my email address?

is it automatically deemed a suspicious activity even though the original
password was used to confirm the change.

Wouldnt it be suspicious if the account password was changed and then the email?

For security reasons, your current password is required to make changes to your account.
4846  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Crypto friendly countries, where and how to exchange your crypto with 0 taxes on: January 26, 2021, 08:15:52 AM
Are you an EU citizen? if yes then there are a few options where Crypto is TAX FREE.

You mix two things that have nothing to do with each other - VAT (value added tax) is something that is paid throughout the EU for all products and services, and the percentage depends on each country. When it comes to Germany, they only passed a law according to which no additional tax (VAT + extra tax) is paid on payments with BTC.

As for income tax, their law says that if you buy a crypto and keep it for at least 1 year, you can sell it without paying any tax - although someone mentioned that the crypto must be kept in a custodial wallet.

As for Portugal and their decision regarding the crypto tax :

Portugal has taken the opposite tack: it made clear that buying or selling cryptocurrencies would not be subject to capital gain taxes or value-added tax (VAT). The PTA previously clarified in 2016 that buying or selling cryptocurrency in Portugal would not be considered a taxable event which means that it’s not subject to tax. There are exceptions: the receipt of cryptocurrency in exchange for goods or services doesn’t change the tax treatment of the original transaction, and taxpayers who deal in cryptocurrency as a professional or business activity are still subject to some taxes.

I dont follow you Lucius, I'm looking at your post and I'm thinking, thats what I posted anyway.
The OP isnt going to be earning Bitcoin, he has it for a number of years and wants it in FIAT

FYI, if you are a resident or citizen of U.S.A, then you are required to pay taxes on capital gains, regardless of where you spend or sell your bitcoins.

Someone pointed this out to me recently too, I'm amazed by that. Does that mean as a U.S
citizen living abroad if you are liable to pay tax locally and to the U.S?

4849  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is bitcoin steering towards $40k once again? on: January 25, 2021, 08:02:41 PM
Bitcoin is going to cross $40k no problem. There is always bigger resistance or sell pressure
at key price points, $40, $45, $50 etc. This year is a bull market and there will be 10%, 15%
etc. dips on the way to $100k, its normal.

And yes we will hit $100k too this year if we follow the stock to flow chart.
4850  Economy / Economics / Re: Does Bitcoin Help The Poor on: January 25, 2021, 05:29:22 PM
I would answer this question differently - Bitcoin has actually already helped many poor people to live much better today than was the case, say 5 years ago. For those who remember the period 5-6 years ago when the price of 1 BTC was around $200, everyone had the opportunity to invest in BTC in one way or another. I know a lot of people who chose the easy approach of using faucets who paid very generous figures for BTC at the time - and even then I said that if we save that earnings for at least a few years, those coins will be worth much more than then.

Regardless of the common opinion of "waste of time", even 100k satoshi per day (and this was achievable in 30-60 minutes), was 0.03 BTC per month, which today is worth about $1000. For some people in third countries, these amounts mean real wealth today, and I believe (and I know personal examples) people whose lives have been changed by BTC in a truly positive sense.

Very good point, I recently posted the thread "Out of Reach" making
the point that 1Bitcoin is and will continue to be out of reach for many
many people who are involved in the space so the focus must be now
on Satoshi's, 50,000, 100,000 or even 1,000,000 satoshi's.

Its nice to hear that these smaller amounts of Bitcoin whom some
people deemed waste of time made a real difference to others.

Micro earning will continue to be important as more and more people
get involved. There is only 21,000,000BTC to go around,
that means also that there will be approximately 21,000,000,000,000,000
satoshi's.

Blockfi  Crypto Card with rewards is another option for U.S residents only, I havent looked
into them yet but when to come to the E.U I would also consider them.
They charge a $200 anual fee. Wouldn't recommend them.

Fold card is probably the best one in the entire market. No idea why people don't talk more about it. You get 3% cashback, 5% on Amazon, can get prizes (up to 1 BTC), you earn interest on your balance and they even support lightning. https://foldapp.com/card

Gemini is also going to release a card with 3% cashback and probably also free.

Ah good luck to that, as I said I havent looked into them because
they dont currently offer the cards in the E.U

Fold Card does sound appealing, I have applied on the waitlist, dont think its available in the E.U.

That's a massive win and that's completely on another level of winning especially when converted to our local currency. I wonder what he will gonna do with that huge money. This is the first time I heard about this kind of huge price and I wonder how many people actually participated in such kind of Lottery. Well, no matter how many of them are there, still there will be a winner and that one is extremely lucky. he better use his money well and I think that kind of money will make him a target of scammers so he better be careful.
Pretty sure that the winner will waste it on luxuries, I had posted a topic about this people that have wasted their wins onto something frivolous and ended up in misery. They are pretty evident in lottery winners, there have been books that tackle this issue specifically. There will be exception to these cases but there is an imbalance between them. That amount is enough for a family of 5 in my country to retire without having any problems with money onto the next generation.

If the winnings are properly and responsively invested and spent
it would set your family's lives up and the next generation also.

Also dont save you login details on your browser, manually typing your
username and password every time you login will implant it into your
memory, you will never forget!

A handy thread which I have yet to get around to doing myself is to stake
your Bitcoin address on the forum as another level of ownership of your account.
Here is the thread > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=996318.0

I'm not sure if there's another thread for this already, or if this belongs in a different section. So basically I thought it would be helpful to post up your Bitcoin address in this thread in the event that your account gets compromised later on down the road. You can simply make a new alt account, sign the address that your original account posted here, and have irrefutable proof that you're the actual owner. It's not 100% guaranteed that you'll get your account back, but it's a pretty good start. Of course, if your account is compromised, the hacker could just come back to this thread and edit/delete whatever address you post here, so that's why I'm asking people to quote the address posted by the preceding user in this thread. Here's mine:

4855  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin had a Billion Max supply instead of 21 million.... on: January 25, 2021, 11:05:04 AM
So essentially 5 50 times more Bitcoin, off the cuff response - it would still be limited supply!
The same reward structure would remain I guess so it would take
longer to mine 1,000,000,000.

What is appealing to investors at the moment is the fact that Bitcoin is a deflationary
asset compared to FIAT which is inflationary, Gold is the closest to Bitcoin but still is
or isnt limited [thats a different discussion] and is controlled.

If Satoshi had set the limit at 1Billion I dont think it would make a difference to the
way we think or the appeal of Bitcoin,

On the other hand if there was a consensus to change the limit from 21Million to 1Billion,
Well thats a different matter.
4856  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens if internet connectivity gets terminated on: January 25, 2021, 08:59:21 AM
Almost Everything we do in todays world centres around connectivity through the internet.

Finance, communication, navigation, security, social interaction all depend on the internet.

Usually there is a minor disruption without internet for a few hours but with a few days
outage there would be a lot of disruption, everything above would be affected.

With banking specifically, well with their Fractional Reserve Banking practices they would
be in big trouble, people would need CASH for daily transactions for simply buying food
and fuel. The problem is that the banks would not have enough CASH reserves to meet
everyones requirements so they would have to close to prevent a "Run"
...so people would have no access to CASH or at best limited access to their deposits.
4857  Economy / Economics / Re: Trading Bitcoin in Africa Is a Way for Some to Escape Poverty on: January 25, 2021, 12:19:11 AM
Correct, Bitcoin takes control from centralised entities and enables everyone regardless
of location, race or social standing to control their own finances 24 hours, 7 days, All year round.

That is why certain people like Christine Lagarde of the ECB and Janet Yellen U.S Treasury Secretary
want regulation of Bitcoin, they are afraid of losing "control" of wealth and of us.
