4901  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: encrypted WIPC windows wallet on: December 09, 2019, 09:50:31 PM
One of the most important security measures that most wallet softwares have is to never save the password used to encrypt your wallet. Hence, I don't think there is any command that may help you restore it.
Where did you save the password? When typing check your keyboard maybe caps lock is turned on!
4902  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: [ ELECTRUM ] Refund from Cryptopay ( but not received ) on: December 09, 2019, 07:51:30 PM
I wonder if they have asked for a refund address and he has accidentally sent them their own address?
I believe this is exactly the case here.
Cryptopay refunded him but the coins were sent to their own address (which he provided).
@op, you have to contact Cryptopay's customer support  and explain what happened. When they ask you for a refund address, again, click the receive button on Electrum and copy the address your wallet provides.
4903  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which decentralized exchanges (DEX) are the best ones to use now? Help me plz on: December 09, 2019, 06:55:40 PM
DEXs are way better in terms of privacy and anonymity than centralized exchanges. Also, CEXs are more susceptible to hacks than DEXs.

However, which one to use, depends on the pairs you want to traid. Decentralized exchanges suffer from low trading volumes and the inability to trade coins not working on the same blockchain.

It's also important to note that many exchanges promote their service as decentralized which in most cases is not true.

Whether you use a decentralized exchange or a centralized one, don't keep your coins on them.

4904  Other / Meta / Re: |What of a 2FA (using the signing btc-address) for the forum! on: December 09, 2019, 12:10:46 PM
If my imagine is right, the login page should like this one
https://i.ibb.co/rGtp5Rh/image.png
or it will different? If I'm right, login with this method will be good,
No, absolutely not! How can that be a good idea!
It will be easy to hack all accounts that staked their addresses here or anywhere else. Just copy the message and the signed message from there, fill the login form et voilà  Roll Eyes
As o_e_l_e_o explained, you have to sign a different message generated by the forum server each time.
4905  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be careful with the links you click on your email on: December 08, 2019, 11:08:13 PM
Personally I just delete any email sent from an unknown sender.
Cleaning your email inbox regularely by removing unsolicited emails is a good practice but it's not enough as they will keep sending new ones.
You have to add the senders dns or IPs to your blacklist.
My inbox is filled with thousands of unread emails and honestly I don't know how to get rid of them.
4906  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 0/3 Confirmation on priority xfer on: December 08, 2019, 09:08:51 PM
Unfortunately blockchain.com does not support RBF feature.
Since you selected the high priority option then your transaction shouldn't take too long to confirm. the network isn't too congested right now.

However, you can contact the recipient and ask him to make a CPFP transaction to accelerate the confirmation (basically what he has to do is to include the unconfirmed output in a new transaction and send it to himself and make sure to add enough fees), both transactions will get confirmed together.
4907  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to use quote? on: December 08, 2019, 06:46:56 PM
What I hate most is seeing someone quoting the whole text from op. My first impression is that it is definitely a shitpost. I usually ignore those replies.

I used to quote replies I want to respond to and edit the content to "..." or something to reduce the size of my reply.
Then I realized that if I want to reply to someone and draw his attention, all I have to do is to add his nickname with an @ meaning that I am addressing my speech to him. It's more practical and saves you the time of editing the quote.
4908  Local / العربية (Arabic) / Re: {للنقاش} المحافظ متعددة التوقيعات on: December 08, 2019, 10:05:49 AM

4909  Other / Meta / Re: |What of a 2FA (using the signing btc-address) for the forum! on: December 07, 2019, 11:49:48 PM
theymos once said that a similar feature would be implemented in the new forum software (that was 5 years ago)  Cheesy
Fancy Authentication
In addition to normal password authentication, the forum should support various kinds of of
alternative authentication. At least password auth, email verification, secret questions, OpenID,
PGP, OpenVPN (automatic creation of subnets + IP source verification), and Bitcoin address
signing should be supported
, with multiple allowable credentials for each auth type.

However, if it becomes mandatory to sign a message whenever a member logs in, it would be a real pain for those who browse the forum using their smartphones.
If implemented, it should be up to the user to decide whether he wants to activate this feature or not.
4910  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mobile Wallets on: December 07, 2019, 09:24:45 PM
Your mobile wallet is not less secure then any other wallet as long as you:
   - use a reliable/trusted wallet app.
   - always update it to the latest version.
   - don't save your seed on the same device.
   - use a strong password to lock the wallet app.
   - keep your mobile safe from malwares.

People tend to think that all mobile wallets are not secure which is not true. In fact, it depends on the user itself.
Personally, I have been using Electrum on my phones for almost two years now, and never experienced any problem (two phones lost though).
4911  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambling Payments Processor Skrill launches “Skrill Cryptocurrency Service" on: December 06, 2019, 11:36:59 PM
Skrill is not just a gambling platform type thing, it is a payment processor and you can use skrill anywhere you want.
I don't know why the author of the article labeled it as a gambling payments processor! Maybe it has something to do with their former brand name "MoneyBookers" or because it's the most used payment processor by gambling sites!

also where did you hear about them closing accounts for matched betting ?
Even if the casino consider matched bettings as "bonus abuse", then most likely they will only suspend your account with them and not your Skrill account.

Didn't get it! I suppose it's a typo.
4913  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Unable to send BTC in electrum from imported wallet era 2011 on: December 03, 2019, 04:38:33 PM
screen Looking like this->...
This screen generally appears when you click preview on a watching only wallet (Sign and Broadcast buttons grayed out)

Does the message on Electrum title bar shows something like this:
"Electrum 3.3.8 - wallet_name [imported, watching only]" ?

4916  Other / Meta / Received 1 merit from Bitcoin Forum! on: December 02, 2019, 08:26:17 PM
I just checked my last received merits and noticed something weird!
Bitcoin Forum sent me 1 merit for a NA reply!
When I click on the user link it redirects me to my profile page and the link of the merited post (NA) redirects me to bitcointalk home page.
Did any one experience something similar or have an explanation for it?
I suppose it's just a glitch, that's why am reporting it here.

This answers your question:
Thanks to everyone who participated! If you voted in this event, you received 1 merit; if your caption appeared in the first table above, you also received 10, and if your caption appeared only in the second table above, you also received 2.
on: December 01, 2019, 04:31:13 PM

4918  Economy / Reputation / Hex.win, fake signature campaign on: December 01, 2019, 11:16:22 AM
This user Richard Heart Hex launched a signature campaign:
Hex Signature Campaign Blockchain Certificate of Deposit- BTC

Obviously this is fake and no one should join it or wear the signature.
Clearly OP's main intention is to promote his referral link the cheapest way: url=https://hex.win/?r=0xbF3913CB785111534E7563D1aEa0e977Ac6B6025

Few users replied there asking OP to prove he is really Richard Heart or to use an escrow but he didn't respond.

Another victim is the signature designer:
Hi would you be interested in a designing a set of signatures for full member-legendary ranks?  In return you'll get $200 worth of hex when we launch.

https://hex.win/

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCta3TYFhzfpPvOtKBDifYJA

https://twitter.com/RichardHeartWin

LbtalkL contacted Hex team through their official Telegram channel and they denied launching a signature campaign on bitcointalk

َAnyone who joins this campaign will be scammed and will not receive any payment.
4919  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hard Wallet Privacy on: November 30, 2019, 11:40:21 PM
You are right. By sending a single transaction with multiple inputs, anyone seeing this transaction on a blockchain explorer will know that those inputs belongs to the same wallet (yours).
However, by sending multiple transactions, you will have to pay much more for fees.
Some members suggested to use a mixer! I don't know how that would help as the transaction sent to the mixer can be used to link your different addresses to each other!
4920  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC FRAUD on: November 30, 2019, 10:12:35 PM
Unfortunately there is not much you can do. Bitcoin transactions are irreversible.
All you can do is to hope that the hacker is dumb enough to leave some traces behind him that can be used to link the address to his real identity.
Keep an eye on the hacker's address and all addresses linked to it, maybe it will lead you to something.
