also wanted to start a topic about this company) but it looks like there are already plenty of them)) wonder why a lot of crypto info web sites have posted news about these scammers releasing new scamminer ![Angry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/angry.gif) Because apparently most of the Crypto-coin news sites either never check the validity of press releases they receive from the scammers much less look into the companies themselves to verify them or the sites just copy/paste/link 'news' they pick up from other sites.

I'm a little confused by your wording.
Did you try each board one at a time to determine which one is not working?
Did you try each data port with that board to determine it is the board and not the port it is plugged into?
Did you try using a different cable to determine if it is the cable?
If you have determined that after the above it is the board and you are still under warranty then you should be able to get it repaired. You could also possibly get it repaired if not under warranty, but it will cost you.
yea I have tried all of these things and determined which board it doesn't work .... and i'm still under warranty until now Since you have been following the advice from Bitmain Warranty for the testing, the only thing affecting warranty status is the 90-day time limit. I had a b11 board go out -- still technically under the 90-days -- but sent it to BitmainWarranty anyway for them to do the repair/exchange. Got it back 1week later, cost was $145 inc the return shipping. Yes was a little higher than sending to China for (possibly/probably 'free') repair but: 1. I was able to ship the board to BitmainWarranty using USPS insured for full value. I declared $400. Sending to China you have to declare value under $40 or face Customs scrutiny and the associated extra cost/time it takes, so if it gets lost or damaged in-transit you are screwed. USPS fully insured w/tracking was $21. 2. No issues with who-did-what, what on it died and is it covered by warranty, etc.

The s9's I get direct from Bitmain cost about ~$140 using UPS for shipping from China to the USA. Since a s7 is about the same weight shipping cost should be similar.

If your control PCB has 4 data port, please try using 1 unused port to connect to hash PCB that does not have red LED flashing near the PCI-E power plug when the miner is hashing. Other wise, if you can take a look at the hash PCB when the S9 is mining, you may notice one of the hash PCB does not have the little red LED on or flashing. (That is the PCB in trouble here) Hi, in one of my Antminer s9 Appears only 2 hash board chips on Miner Status not 3 , this happens after 4 day of working .. despite of I have connected all power cables right in their places I have checked with different power supplies , I have also change data cables but it doesn't Appear. <snip> @ BitmainWarranty: Is it possible to get a service report for the diagnosis/repair or exchange performed on the boards we send you for repair? I asked Ashi (?) about it but he is in the messaging end of your work, not the service tech that did the work. As a tech person myself (industrial laser design/research/repair) I would really like to know what failed on the 2 s9 boards I had you repair/replace. Both boards are working perfectly now btw. Great work and a very reasonable price/turnaround time. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) .

Ja. Glad I ordered my (probably last) s9 yesterday. This will make 8 of them and hopefully it will be as good as most of my others have been. It already started shipping so should show up Thurs or Fri methinks. Too bad the R4 never came up for sale -- I'd rather have gotten 2 of those for space heating use...

Looking at the exhaust end of the miner the seal is usually covering the top-left screw which holds the end plate onto the case. It is a thin blue/white sticker.
Thanks for the reply. That's where I figured it would be, but I see nothing. Should I be concerned that warranty seal was not placed or already removed? Ah, yes. If this miner was bought directly from Bitmain take a pic of it and let them know before sending it to them so this matter is clarified first.

I can assure all of you that the letter was very real.
The farm will be getting ran into the ground. Will post results when
A) Electricity gets shut off
B) Get raided for 2nd time.
shout out to all the haters and nay-sayers. You are what makes this community great.
And what exactly would they Raid? Washington has legal marijuana, I still think they are confusing you for a grow operation, raiding miners doesn't make much sense. I have researched this further but have not finalized my research yet. Apparently all high density load customers now need to fill out an application to be approved for the new high density load rates. Stay tuned. These policies goes into effect Jan 1st 2017. These policies are very political and crooked imo. https://youtu.be/mhwZivuaip8Dedicated Asic Services company is a company located in this county. They are the pros in the video above. Still have not finished the video. Although I have a suspicion I'm going to hear a lot of bs. should out to the haters sippin that haterade The 'applying for higher load' bit does not surprise me. In a way it matches with what you said about them updating the power lines in your area and this is their way to get info on what wire, transformer, and fusing sizes to put in. My local power company likes to send out usage emails every week and typically I am a constant 3x higher usage than the 'Average' user in my area (and 4x higher than the lowest reported). Like Savior, I have 200A service, miner load is 3.5kW so yes, using a lot but well under the service maximum. Aside from the friendly usage notes, never heard a word from the power co about usage. All I can say is that if for some reason you *do* get raided make sure all your ducks are in a row so ya can laugh at them... eg, if legally growing, follow all rules: (# of plants), location (near a school?), Notice signage (State rules regarding growing), etc. If a legal user, have your MM card and/or be sure to be under max weight of weed in the house.

Are people still doing this one controller and 6 blade or 9 blade hack? I'm confused as some of the above comments make me think its not a good idea. I have a batch 7 that has 9 18 pin slots but came with the 162 chip board. Can I take the 162 chip boards out and put in 6 135 chip boards as long as I have enough PSU?
My 1st guess is that the BB's GPIO circuits can't handle the load of that many hash boards tied to it. Betcha Bitmain is using unbuffered BB' signals and that when overloaded it takes out part of the BB.... Since small computers like RasPi, BB, Audrino, et al are not known for um, 'robust' power protection, if the feed for the 3.3v used for GPIO is overloaded that could lead to Majik Smoke getting out...

Absolutely no point mining bitcoin with your laptop. You should post in the altcoins section and their may be a coin you can mine but it will shorten the lifespan of your laptop.
Agree with all the above: Your laptop will be killed by it (most common is the CPU fan dying) unless you have a high-end engineering laptop like a ThinkPad or Toughbook that are designed to be ran hard and at full speed 24x7.

That's for that info. So it's down to the headboards themselves and not just the controller. Very interesting. I wonder what gives the hash board it's set freq etc?
Largely the same thing that gives CPU's different frequencies (within a family) -- mfg process variations resulting in speed vs error rate limitations. All will run fine at slow speeds but the number of dies from a wafer that work at higher speeds drops off pretty quick. So they are binned into different speed grades and priced accordingly.

Ditto. Just got back the replacement for the dead batch-1 board that I sent in, plugged into a batch-11 (BitmainWarranty got that board on Sat.) miner here at work and so far running perfect. For those wondering, I'm headed out of town for the week and needed to get the replacement board online before I go...

Decided to take the plunge and order a brand new S9 today and its starting to look like a dud,
Pulled a working PSU from a S7 I had running and plugged it all in, it powered up with fans at full speed, none of the hash boards have lit up and its not coming up on the network.
Does anyone have any idea of a fix or am I going to have to try through Bitmain?
Regards Alex
Try the reset function by putting a paperclip in the little pin hole. That can help and im sure bitmain will ask you to try it. Also try unplugging power to the power to hash boards and power only the controller. If the controller is alive it should show up on network and give GUI access. If still no access, leave hash boards unplugged and again do the reset. Remember each time you push the rest button hold it in 10 seconds. The red light next to the reset should start blinking. Leave miner running for at least 5 min to allow the reset firmware to be loaded and start running.

s7 running at 620/650 525Mhz. Pulls 860W at wall and 3.5Th/s. So I'm at .246w/Ghs. Only problem is all 3 boards drop somewhere between 1 hour and 1.5 hours. Temperatures were between 60/60/63 and 64/64/66. Obviously I have stability issues but I suppose it is not temperature related? Should I step up 10mv or to 537Mhz?
Yeah I'd try 630/650. That is where most of mine run. Out of 16 s7's I still have on-line one or 2 boards had to go even higher to be stable. I can also verify the effects of temp. Of those 16 s7 miners ever hour or so 4 would periodically drop 1 card for ~5min before it came back up on its own. Their temps were in the low to mid 50's. Dropped fan speeds to get them up to 60-70C and after 6 hours so far no more dropouts ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Log sent via email. Tried applying the update 9/21 09:45:00 time stamp. Uninstalled and then re-installed and now back to v1.7.6
Edit: applied the prev release you gave, now up to v1.7.13 and working fine. Thanks. Cheers!
Nice, and sorry for the inconvenience. I've just made v.1.7.15 available that first of all corrects the problem, but in addition to that takes care of all similar problems during startup and makes sure Awesome Miner will run fine anyway. ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) I'll try it tonight at home for the 2 miners I have there. Note to self: Never apply dev versions to main farm w/o testing @ home 1st.... ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) EDIT: Loaded dev v1.7.15 on home system, upgraded just fine. Will try on main farm at work tomorrow. I see we can now set extended performance logging (default 30 days). How do we access it? edit: nvm -- found it. Tools tab...

Hi, vortexz: Your repair order has been Payed. Expend: 0BTC Order ID: 001201609200xxxx Repair ID: 03320160907043757960dBQjAzxxxxx Hey what does this mean ? does it mean they shipped it back to me ? yes, and you will get another email item ship with tracking. Please let me know if u get new board or used one (replaced with another crap board). Folks please do be aware that for virtually all goods from most companies I have worked with, warranty service from the OEM (in this case, Bitmain) does NOT necessarily mean sending a new replacement part if the defective one cannot be quickly repaired and the OEM's are under no obligation to do so. Standard practice is to send 'reconditioned' boards or parts meaning they are from previous repairs/returns. They all should still carry some sort of warranty as replacement parts. If a company has the resources (parts stock) to actually send a new board, great. Just don't expect that from all manufacturers.

Um, maybe you should get together with patrike the author of Awesome Miner monitoring software? He seems to have cracked the coding for BMminer as Awesome Miner correctly reports board and chip temps. I LOVE the setting speed per-board idea. Lets us optimize per-board for performance and temps ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)
